Loving King Jesus: The Joyous Freedom of Obedience

Rate this book
Jesus said in John 14:15, “If you love me, keep my commandments.” For the Christian believer, obedience to Jesus’s commandments, indeed all the moral commands of the entire Bible, is the key to true freedom--the freedom that brings joy, contentment, and the "peace that passes all understanding." Bob has arranged this study of Christ’s commandments in a topical format in 13 weekly studies, perfect for quarterly junior high, high school, or adult classes. Also included is a discussion of the relationship of Law and Gospel, the Ten Commandments, and the ways in which Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament law. A Bible study for individuals or groups, Loving King Jesus is a profound and powerful path toward maturity in Christ, as Jesus fulfills His purpose in us; to be transformed into His image and grow in His joyous and glorious freedom.Bob is a graduate of Westminster Seminary in California and teaches biblical theology at RITE Seminary in Kiev, Ukraine. His other books include The Wisdom of Proverbs, Wisdom for Women, 101 Portraits of Jesus in the Hebrew Scriptures, The Jewish Wars - a Paraphrase, and the newly released, Proverbs 3:5&6 - The Distilled Essence of the Christian Life. He lives with his wife, Amy, in Hartville, Ohio.

Overall, it’s a good book, but I found that Grace and Works get scrambled at times. You need to have a good understanding of Grace when you read this one. Grace and Works don’t blend together…. It’s all Grace, a finished work, and therefore we have a new nature. (Romans 6-8).
