"Tell me a fact and I'll learn. Tell me a truth and I'll believe. But tell me a story and it will live in my heart forever."
Native American proverb

A. M. Marcus graduated from the Technion Israel Institute Of Technology with B.Sc. Cum Laude in Computer Engineering.
Throughout his studies, he has been teaching and helping children with math and through his work, he has helped them to discover their inner strength and motivation to continue studying and nurturing success in life.

He loves the challenge of early education, and especially enjoys working with children with learning difficulties. He has found great satisfaction in helping them conquer their fears and overcome the challenges associated with their education.
A. M. Marcus has read hundreds of self improvement books, and been influenced heavily by them. Through self-reflection, he found that his great dream was to share that wisdom, especially with kids.
A. M. Marcus left his computer engineering career in order to pursue his dream of becoming an author of children's books. Today, he continues to write these books, with the goal of teaching kids basic skills through his stories. He believes that a good story is an excellent way to communicate ideas to children.

Each and every story is based upon some deep issue, value, or virtue that can potentially make a huge impact on the lives of both children and adults. He has a vast collection of quotes, and usually bases his stories off of quotes he personally finds inspiring.

For example, the first book he published in English on amazon was, "The Peaceful Lion And The Nagging Crow."

The story can be summed up thusly:

Timeless, Biblical Wisdom That Children Will Love!!

“Gorilla sighed, ‘I can heal wounds in the skin and sickness in the belly, but healing someone’s heart is more difficult.’”

Marcus uses simplicity of heart as he creates a masterful children’s picture book of wisdom, courage and the true value of friendship. Monkey and Rabbit have the type of friendship that could last forever, however, when Rabbit gets caught in a hunter’s snare he becomes fearful and distant, desiring only to hide within his rabbit hole. Monkey wanting to save his friendship with Rabbit seeks the counsel of the wise, old Gorilla who teaches him a valuable lesson on facing fears and the importance of friendship. While I’ve enjoyed all of the books in the author’s children’s collection, as well as the excellent matching coloring book, “Gorilla’s Wisdom” is by far one of my favorites. It is timeless, Biblical based, full of wisdom containing more than one moral to the story - beautiful, carefree and awe-inspiring tale that children and adults will enjoy over and over again.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13 NIV

Gorilla's Wisdom tells the story of two best friends, Monkey and Rabbit. Their favourite thing to do is to have fun adventures together in the jungle, however one day something happens that scares Rabbit and he no longer wants to play or go outside. This upsets Monkey because he thinks it is the end of their friendship and so he goes to seek the advice of the wise Gorilla. In putting the Gorilla's advice in to practice, Monkey learns a great lesson about being patient and how to be a good friend. This has a nice lesson for us that when our friends may be feeling low, it is our duty to help raise them back up. However we must show them respect and patience and try to rush them into doing things they do not feel ready to do. NIce book, well illustrated and of course the added bonus of a free colouring book is just great!!

This is another great book by Assaf Marcus.
Two different animals are great friends and love having adventures together. After one of them, the rabbit's behavior changes to moodiness and fear. The monkey goes to a wise gorilla for advice. Eventually, he realizes that if he can make friends with a dangerous jungle animal...a tiger, he can figure out how to help his rabbit friend.
This story shows that the right intentions of a true friend can help someone in need.
The illustrations go along with the story beautifully.
To help children with more understanding and entertainment as well, a free coloring book is included.

I thought that this was an adorable story about friendship. I always like the life lessons that this author throws into his stories and this one definitely exceeded my expectations. My little one always loves stories that have animals (especially monkeys) in them and so this one really captured her attention. Afterwards she told me that the monkey was a great friend and that she thinks that I am a great friend to her too; definitely melted my heart. If you are looking for a story that your child will love and that will help to instill the power of friendship then this is a book that I’d recommend.

Gorilla's Wisdom is a great story about two friends, and offers two great morals for children and friendship. The first moral is that friendship needs to be nurtured and cared for. The second one is that, sometimes, to nurture and care for a friendship that is struggling can take patience. This is a great book to read to your children if they've gotten in a fight with a friend and are not sure what to do.

What a kind and gentle way to explain the challenges depression can add to a friendship! And such good advice for how to help out close friends who have had to deal with some painful circumstances. This will help my child understand how she can help her little friend who lost her sister in an accident over the summer break. Might even help her friend to read it herself and realize how much she is loved even when she’s so sad. The girls will enjoy coloring the matching pages too.
