New from USA Today Best-Selling author Sylvia Frost, a steamy, novel-length retelling of Cinderella you won't be able to put down.
Billionaire Rex West may be known to the world as a Wall Street wonder, but he's got a secret. In order to live among humans, this werewolf has trapped his inner beast in a gilded cage of control and lost any hope of finding his mate.
Until he meets her...
Curvy Cynthia Cinders has one focus -- save her cleaning and organizing business and move out of her stepmother's house. So when she gets an invitation to a masquerade, she's more interested in landing an investor than playing princess.
But this prince isn't just a prince, and he has plans for Cynthia...
This retelling was better than I expected, very sexy, cool characters and wonderful emotional connections. My only suggestion, as an avid reader, is to get a proofreader because there were a lot of points I was taken out of the story because of those errors. Great writing deserves that support.
I didn't even look at the blurb to be honest. What they say about judging a book by its cover? Bollocks. I judge them that way all the time, and it works for me. Covers tell you a lot. First off, there's the title. Honestly? Sylvia Frost got me there, because I'm in love with fairy tale retellings in general, and Cinderella in particular. Then, it also tells you how much the author cares about being professional. When the cover's shit, I don't expect the book to be edited. Cinder's wolf is gorgeous, so with yep, the cover meant I clicked on Read right away.
I caught it on KU and oh-my-god. No, seriously.
I can't tell you what got me more excited, the story itself, following Cynthia Cinders, a contemporary heroin who rocks, or the surrounding characters. I want to know everything about all of them. Now. Thankfully, the first one is apparently already out so I'm about to go read that!
The tension between Cynthia and Rex is electric, vibrant, and sensual. I immediately loved Rex, while Cynthia was more frustrating, mainly because we wanted her to like Rex right away... Obviously, it wouldn't have been nearly as good a book if she had. I'm not going to spoil it for you, but the plot's great. Will definitely keep you on your toes.
I absolutely loved the way things turned out with the step mother. That was beautiful, clever and completely unexpected. Really. One of my other delights was Bane, Rex's friendly enemy, or hostile friend, one of the two. I loved him from the start but at the end, he turns out to be my very favourite fairy tale character of all time! Not saying whom, though...
Overall, Sylvia Frost has woven an amazing story, there, and I just want more. Although it's one am.
Great spin on the Little Cinder Girl. Rex the wolf prince of wall street and Cynthia the OCD neat freak are two characters cut from the same cloth. Very entertaining tale that got a few chuckles out of me. The main thing about reinventing a classic tale is that it has to be believable and this absolutely was. The stepmother not so evil, step sisters not so jealous and the different characters from other familiar tales blending in seamlessly. Drawback of the story, editing issues. Overall rating 3.5.
I absolutely loved this version of Cinderella! Wow awesome Ms. Frost!
Cynthia has been living a life of absolute misery since the death of her father. Living in the shadows trying to get her company afoot, but having a hard time of it living in the basement of her stepmothers basement. But she doesn't have a Fairy Godmother to help her, only her wit at sneaking into a lavish masquerade ball to hand out her business cards and try to get some investors.
Rex West is known as the Prince of Wall Street, or the Wolf of Wall Street, little does anyone know that he really is, a wolf that is! And he is throwing a lavish Ball in the hopes of finding his mate who he scared off so many, many years ago on a trail near his childhood farmhouse and Camp Kikanoo.
I laughed, I almost cried and I definitely fanned myself a few times. I can't wait for the next book in this awesome series.
This is wonderful full novel. The story is based on the fairytale of Cinderella. However, Sylvia Frost has a wonderful way of putting her own spin on the old tale and making it updated and new...oh and for adults. She has a wolf shifter in this book who is the prince of Wall Street named Rex West and he is strong, dominating and wants to live in the human world right under their noses. He met his mate twelve years ago in the woods by his families farm but she got away. He has been searching for her but doesn't even know her name. Cynthia Cinders is a women on a mission, she tries to be strong, but there are things in her life she has to deal with. The characters are so well written. This book will grab a hold of you and you will NOT be able to stop reading until you reach the end. Then you will crave more from this amazingly talented author!!!
Modern day fairytale with a paranormal twist. A complex tale of wealth, class and business that follows no outline for success. Cynthia Cinders is supposedly a driven entrepreneur yet all she does is feel sorry for herself and dwell on the past and fascinate on Post It notes. Rex West is a billionaire wolf shifter who could easily save Cynthia's fledgling company, Boxes and Broom, from a sure slow, painful death. However, Cynthia's so called pride keeps her from accepting Rex's help as her company continues its decline. But as with all fairytales, all's well that ends well...Rex and Cynthia are blissfully mated and Boxes and Broom is pulled from the brink to a success. The details in between failure to success is muddled as is the paranormal activity. Many grammatical errors as well as some character confusion. On my Were Scale of Hotness, 2 stars.
I am a big fan of fairy tales and Beauty and Beast is one of my favorites so the first book grabbed me from the get go. I was shocked to find out it was so short and that I finished it in one sitting and wanted more.
As it goes I believe this series is self published because there are numerous errors. I usually over look them as my brain just corrects the issue. However when a book has too many I tend to start picking up them. The second book in the series is longer and did not catch me as much as the first one did. It is Cinderella's story but again I found so many errors that it started to detract from the story.
I am continuing on with the series because it has caught my attention but if each book gets worse with errors like there was a hurry to publish it may get harder. However I am holding out for Luther and Red story and Regean and Bane.
I love that the main character is BBW and the main character loves her curves. I love that several times it points out that she is plus size but it Never takes away from her confidence or sexiness. Other than that, it's inst-love, mate bonding, shifter romance and I love it.
This is a modern day retelling of Cinderella's fairy tale.
Cynthia's struggling to keep her company afloat. On top of that, she also needs to keep her step mother happy. Which is no easy task.
When she's invited to a business event, she grabs the opportunity to network for investors. Little does she know that she'll meet her mate at the event. A man whom she met 12 years ago and has been looking for her ever since.
I liked retellings and this is no exception. Cynthia's curves seduced Rex from the very first time they met and held on 12 years after.
This book was a delight. The book was witty, captivating, funny and smart in the same time, and gorgeous; just gorgeous. It has all different elements altogether; ever bits of element make up one big whole story. Ms Frost managed to tailored business savvy (the story at one point spoke business language effortlessly), romance, paranormal characters (shifters ofcourse), family drama (sweet misunderstanding and family dynamic), and above all friendship. The plot built up nicely and ended up with sugar and roses. A very nice reading to warm your heart. HEA with no angst at all.

.It was fun to read the story. The characters were well introduced and the author could make us feel the angst the major female had about her business. At the same time' it was nice to follow how her mate had to get her before all was lost. ***spoiler alert ***** I love the way that the stepsisters weren't evil like the original plot. Same thing for the stepmother. Nice enjoyable reading.
A well written retelling of a modern day Cinderella!
This was a well written retelling of the modern day Cinderella and her prince charming which started at a camp she was a counselor at along with her friends Bel and Red. I love the way their stories unfold and we learn their histories as well as the way all their lives interlaced. Great read. I can't wait to see where Red's story goes and I hope it includes the brother.
I'm on the fence here. I love retellings of Cinderella. I'm not sure why, but I dive into them if I can find them. This one, while the story is really good, I couldn't get into the actual writing style of the author. I can't even pinpoint what wasn't working for me because again, I liked the story a lot.
Couldn't wait to find out the outcome. However, sex was very graphic and unsuitable for younger readers. I would like to see the relationships ease up on the descriptions of sexual interactions. Too in your face for me.
What a book! It had everything that is NEEDED in a shifter romance. Love, passion, drama and the best HOT SEX. (18 and over sorry. No I'm not lol ) this is the way the fairy tales Should Have Been Told. Wish book 3 was already out 😍
I really enjoyed this take on Cinderella and with a wolf it’s even better. Cynthia has a cleaning company and an evil stepmother but Cynthias thoughts are so funny I will have to get some of the others in this series.
I couldn’t finish the book. Cynthia just started bothering me too much. Who thinks about cleaning an office after having sex? But can’t because she didn’t bring her cleaning supplies.
I can’t really give this book a decent critique because I kept flipping pages trying to find an interesting tidbit to keep me engaged. It did not happen for me.
The first two or three chapters of this book were disastrous. I don't know if there was a formatting problem or what. There were cases where sentences dropped off, thoughts were never completed, or things were repeated word for word. It was annoying and frustrating. When I could finally make some sense of the story I was introduced to a nineteen year old with the behavior patterns of a thirteen year old. Cynthia had a severe case of arrested development and twelve years later she seemed to have regressed even farther. Let me give an example: a 31 year old does not indulge in meaningless one night stands, live in her stepmother's basement, and expect to be taken seriously as a CEO of a company. Oh and her snarky little lists at the beginning of each chapter---so juvenile that if I hadn't known she was in her thirties, I would have thought she was prepubescent. To sum it up, I was not invested in Cynthia. She was tawdry, boring, and selfish. Rex wasn't so bad but the name-- please tell me that wasn't the best the author could do? He had issues embracing his wolf until Cynthia became hibusiness. Here's the thing, the premise sounded fun but the delivery was abysmal. The sex scenes weren't even sexy. Maybe it was because I wasn't invested in the characters. Frankly, I was rather tired of the repeated theme of he's too strong and controlling \ she was afraid he'd take over her life and her business. She should be so lucky-- loved that she was afraid of beings trophy wife like her stepmother. Please, the woman was a better businessman than her father. She needed to get over herself and grow the hell up. .
Getting lost in the woods is bad enough. But both of the girls meeting guys in the woods is weird. But them disappearing to is creepy. Little did they know they would meet again years later. And find out why.
I can't recommend this to anybody because the love scenes were like porn. Yikes! The story itself is pretty lame too. Which is sad because the mix of werewolves, romance and fairytales is usually my cup of tea.
*I received this ARC from the author in exchange for a honest review*
CINDER'S WOLF by Sylvia Frost
Rex West is a billionaire and known as the wolf prince of Wall Street. Twelve years ago he met his mate in the woods but he let her get away, causing him to keep a tight control over his wolf. That is until he meets her again....
When Cynthia Cinders receives an invitation to a masquerade ball, she has one focus in mind and that is to save her business. But things never go according to plan and she ends up with more than she could ever imagine.
This was a fantastic version of the modern day Cinderella. It was a very interesting and entertaining read. The characters were likable and had good chemistry. However I did find a few discrepancies within the storyline and the editing wasn't great. However this was a cute, fun read. Loved it!
What a fantastic Adaptation of Cinderella. Cynthia Cinders and Rex West's story is wonderful. Having met 12 years prior in the woods near the camp she was a counsellor at. Her world seems to fall apart after that summer. Her father dies, she gets pulled out of her dream school by her step mother and one thing leads to another (don't want to give it all away) till she's invited to a ball so Rex can find her again. She's trying to get her life turned around when she finally meets him again (although she doesn't realize it). I love the chemistry, interactions and story line the couple has. Sylvia has a great ensemble cast of back ground characters included in this story. I received an ARC for my honest review.
