" The sex scenes were hot ! ... A strong woman heroine." - Becky Cox
"Once in a while I post a book spotlight of a worthy book I’ve managed to read outside of InD’Tale Magazine ... These books stand on their own and are worth settling into a comfy arm chair, with a good reading light and maybe a snack or two." -Natasza Waters, Voice Between the Lines

Finn Qualtrough is an alluring Cynn Cruor sniper — a member of an order of immortal human/werewolf/vampire warriors bred by an ancient alchemist who used old age magick to guard the human race from evil supernatural beings.

Eirene Spence is a insomniac hacker with a reckless penchant for midnight walks in a moonlit Manchester park.
And together… they're a bonfire of passion!
In the midst of a long night of programming impenetrable firewalls for Dac Valerian, one of her more treacherous anonymous criminal clients, Eirene decides to take a stroll in the park under the full moon ... and is assaulted by a gang of supernatural villains known as the Scatha Crurors, the nemesis of the Cynn Cruors, who find pleasure in rape, pillage, plunder, and murder. Eirene fights off her torturers but can't quite escape them, and just when she fears she's about to die, she's rescued by Finn — a handsome, provocative stranger... whose touch ignites a hunger inside her that only he can satisfy.

By a twist of fate, Finn has been assigned to track down Dac Valerian. Only Eirene and her ingenious programming capabilities can help him. As the two work together, an undeniable attraction grows — Eirene awakens a desire within Finn to claim her as his own. She is the very essence of his immortal life. He is her soul. But, after uncovering her true identity, Dac wants Eirene dead. Now Finn must fulfill his mission while keeping the woman he's fallen in love with alive.

Readers who like steamy romance will love this extremely hot erotic adventure, as will anyone who loves paranormal romance, werewolves, vampires, and ancient magick in the otherworldly Scottish countryside.

Some stories stay with you forever. Some characters feel like old friends. Isobelle Cate writes both. Her books are full of love that surprises, second chances that feel real, and people who’ve been through heartbreak but find the courage to love again. Every story she tells reminds us that hope is never lost, and love always finds a way.

Her characters are alive, flawed, brave, funny, and achingly human. Whether it’s a sweeping romance or a touch of magic, her stories pull you in and refuse to let go.

Off the page, Isobelle is just as captivating. She’s warm, thoughtful, and a little delightfully quirky someone who loves quiet afternoons with a book, the smell of baking drifting through the house, and the gentle rhythm of crocheting. She lives in Manchester with her family and their tiny, fearless goldfish, Ninja, who somehow makes every day a little more interesting.

Readers don’t just come for her stories, they stay for her heart. Isobelle’s words comfort, inspire, and remind us that even when life feels impossible, love has a way of finding us.

I have never been so amused by written descriptions of sex before. This is me, paraphrasing the book:

Juliet: Verliy, for I am brought forth from Isobelle Cate's mind like Athena from Zeus's brow, for I am a new Juliet, a warrior, a hacker-of-hacks, who shall best evildoers with mine own intellect and a telescoping baton!

The Houses: Let us rape you!

Romeo: Juliet! Woe be the day that I cannot feast my eyes upon you, wretched be the night where the heady scent of your Mound of Venus doth not toucheth my rod.

Juliet: Hackety-hack. Also, my Mound of Venus doth groweth much in humidity.

Romeo: Pray, let me kiss you, for lips to nether lips do touch in holy were-vampire's true mate's kiss...

Juliet: Will thou giveth my cervix bruises?

Romeo: Verily, I shall!

The Plot: Screw you guys, I'm going home.

Juliet: Harder, Romeo! Deeper!

Romeo: The moon grows jealous of the luminescence of thine skin, my love. Also, take my cock, babe, take it!

I am far, far away from the intended audience for this book, and I knew that before I started it.

But we should all read outside our genre from time to time. And good writing is good writing, after all, to wit, another novel (also categorized as erotica) I'm about to review got 4 stars, grudgingly, because while the subject matter, the characters, the plot and the themes had periodic nails-on-a-chalkboard effect on me, the writing was good.

Other times, I've found myself giving books 4 and 5 stars when they clearly had massive flaws. Because some development - the world, the plot, a single throwaway character - was so well-conceived-of that it was incandescent.

Unfortunately, this particular offering's only grace is that it made me chortle.

So, at first, I wasn't going to review this at all, because giving a 1-star to a work that someone has poured their heart and soul into? Cruelty is not really my norm. But then I thought: If I feel free to criticize authors I respect, authors I'm friends with in some cases, secure in the knowledge that they're adults and can handle it, and that they know my critique is no statement about them as people, then the only thing keeping me from eviscerating a stranger is cowardice.

Portions of cowardice still remains - the four paragraphs of justification before the review even starts. So.

The plot has so many holes in it, not even Donald Trump would donate it to Goodwill. The primary story device - a man is searching for his daughter kidnapped by his ex-wife, and our heroine is helping him. She's helping him by "hacking" into various corporations. One of these corporations is shady and strange, and she hacks into them and their programs contain "symbols", and they suddenly become her clients....wait, what? The thought-process for the MC's job/money process seems to be:

Step 1: "Hack" an organization
Step 2: ????
Step 3: organization becomes client, PROFIT!

Or

Step 1: "Hack" an organization
Step 2: ????
Step 5: Kidnapped daughter is found!

Note that I've refrained from critiquing specific instances that make me think "this person doesn't know how 'hacking', software or, indeed, corporations work". I let James Bond slide, I'm letting this slide. People that know me know what a valiant effort this is ;)

The Immortal Werewolf/Vampire part of this seems mildly more thought-out. Ancient feud, a few bones thrown to various mythological constructs, hunky men looking for their mates. To, you know, mate with.

That's OK, I knew what I was getting into before I started. It's a linear variant of the "find the bad guy, confront, flee, repeat" plot. No demerits for this, can't go wrong with linear.

Okay, on to characters.

There aren't any.

There's a filled-in character sheet from those writerly self-help books, complete with "hobbies" and "pet peeves" and "favourite color", attached to a functional penis and vagina.

And the Big Bad?

Nothing says it better than this book itself:

In all his immortal life no one had bested him...He had the best evil geniuses in his pockets and they took the fall for him.

Evil geniuses. Used in all sincerity and seriousness. I still don't let myself dwell on that too much, for fear of guffawing so hard the neighbors call an ambulance.

Also, on the same page:

He had imprisoned many Christians in those cells before feeding them to forcibly starved and voraciously hungry beasts for the entertainment of the Romans.

Also, he sells little kids into prostitution.

The author might have had better luck just rolling an appropriate D20 system's Neutral-Evil lizardman-half-orc? (still don't really know what these guys look like, beyond "muscular" and "they're smelly" and glowing eyes)...Only reason I hesitate to declare him chaotic-evil is because he's been running a corporation for a while.

Recommendation: Everyone I know, personally, should read this book because it's prime drinking-game material. Everyone is invited to Hamburg for a party where I will blatantly copy a friend's drink-a-thon for 50-Shades, and provide the vodka. Because I have found something more unintentionally funny, more repetitive, and more i-need-whiskey-now-please than...than Twilight!

A Solid.5 Star Review - loved it!!!

One of my favourite genres is PNR (Were's and Vamps) and I have read so many that I have lost count. However, "Rapture at Midnight" (The Cynn Cruor Bloodline #1) is definitely NOT your typical werewolf/vampire story that is out they by so many other authors. Isobelle Cate, has given us a totally new twist that I have not read before and this book blew me away!!

This is such an amazing love story between our Hero, Finn, and our Heroine, Eireen. You will love them as they take you on their journey into the Immortal and Mortal world as they deal with the evil that they must fight to overcome.

This books kept my interest from 1st page to last with excitement, mystery, action, as I continued to read about the on-going war between two breeds of immortal warriors who carry human, vampire, and werewolf blood. AWESOME!!

There was a bit of a cliff-hanger at the end, and I must say that it is totally out of my character to read any further books that contain cliff-hangers. But, I was so hooked on the way this new author has given us such an exciting new twist in this fabulous book, that I cannot wait for the next issue. Hope it won't be a long wait.

I do recommend this book and look forward to more from this author.

*****5-star read*****

Seriously – have I been hiding under a rock since 2013? Why have I never read this book before now? I really need to have a stern word with myself later *snorts*

This story reminded me why I will always be a PNR girl at heart. You couldn’t ask for a better start to a series than this one. The author laid all the foundations; character introductions, kick-ass action *coughs*, lore woven into history and baddies you despise from the off! Plus, the fact it’s set in present day, UK made me do a mini fist pump. I swear I can adult, sometimes.

I loved how the Cynn Cruor are a new breed of immortal, neither one thing nor another. I always wonder how authors come up with their ideas and this one, for me, was pure genius.

The connection between Finn and Eirene was instantaneous. I could practically feel the electricity that zinged between them from here:

“Her blood sang to him…”

Finn is a tortured soul. His backstory really makes you feel for him. And one sexy mofo to boot, but that’s just incidental - NOT. He and his brethren have one shared goal – locate and eradicate their sworn enemy. He doesn’t have time for a mate, but maybe fate has other ideas.

Eirene is one of those strong, powerful heroines you automatically wish could be like or have as a bestie. She hasn’t had the easiest life and has always felt ‘different’. Maybe, just maybe, she’ll find where she belongs when she is inadvertently thrust into Finn’s world.

It may be the end of Finn and Eirene’s story in this book, but I have so many questions and can’t wait to delve back into this series for the continuation of Cynn Cruor warriors battle against the Scatha Cruor and the women who steal the hearts.

Note: Copy kindly received from author in exchange for an honest review.

If you liked the Twilight Saga books and movies you will love this book. It is the first in the series about the Cynn Cruor Bloodline. It a powerful love story between Finn and Eirene. They have such a strong connection from the very beginning and this takes you on their journey of discovery. I have not been into the paranormal romance novels but this one was given to me. I am so glad it was. Once I started it I couldn't put it down until it was finished. Can't wait till the next book comes out. If you want a great love story, then this is the book for you. Don't hesitate to purchase this book.

This was nnot my usual read, but I have to admit I did enjoy it. It was about mortals and immortals. It was about Finn who is a immortal protecting Eirene who was a mortal from being attack by evil forces. They find they are attracted to each other even though Finn knows he needs to find his immortal mate. The plot thickens and the love develops as the story goes on. Its only 180 pages so it is short. It is really worth the time to read it and I think you will enjoy it

Part Vampire, Part Werewolf, Part Human

Does true love exist? May sound cynical but could you live with the same person for HUNDREDS of years? To love someone unconditionally, to find that one person who is an extension of yourself, someone whom you can’t live or breathe without….your one true love, your mate….
I usually don’t read a lot of Paranormal stories and I was hesitant to read this, but thought I would start it and see how far I could go. I am so glad I read this book! It grabbed me right from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down. The prologue was a great help in explaining Finn’s background and who (and what) are the Cynn Cruor. It was a lot to take in, but in the end, made the story easier to understand. AND I loved that they use sex as their “healing balm.”

Finn Qualtrough is a Cynn Cruor. At the age of 11 he lost his parents in a war with the Scatha Cruor. He has spent the last few hundred years avenging his parent’s death. They are trying to end the Scatha Cruor so they can live peacefully among humans. He has yet to meet “his mate” and isn’t in a hurry to either, he is too focused on his mission.

Eirene is a computer genius, a little eccentric and keeps to herself. After she saved a man, Devon, from a horrible experience, she learned that his wife had taken his daughter, Penny, and just disappeared. With Devon, she started the charity, Kids Come Home, and is helping him find his daughter. They are two people who have no one else left in the world but each other. They have more than just a working relationship, they have a special friendship and they look out for each other.

Circumstances and an overwhelming urge to protect Eirene, forces her and Finn together. They are both drawn to each other and develop strong feelings that Finn is afraid to admit. After three hundred years, has Finn finally found his mate? This book has something for everyone - mystery, suspense and a great love story with some HOT sex! We can’t always control who we fall in love with and when we find “the one” we will stop at nothing to achieve our happiness.

This Vampire/Werewolf book was a damn hot read, and I for one loved it.

Finn is a member of the Cynn Cruor who has human, Vampire and werewolf blood and he comes across Eirene when she was walking through the park at midnight and she's a computer whizz. The story flares up between the mortal and immortal and build a relationship so hot, it blew me away. Without giving too much away, the story unfolds were Finn has to keep Eirene alive and to conclude his mission.

I really enjoyed this book and will recommend to anyone and look forward to future reads of Isobelle Cate

Rapture at Midnight is hot and steamy! It begins with a memory of Finn as a boy, watching his parents leave for their final battle of good verses evil. As a man, Finn has dedicated himself to searching and destroying the Scatha Cruor. He has endlessly hunted the one responsible for his parent’s death; however, one woman can bring him closer than he has ever been before. Eirene Spence has courage, beauty and intelligence. Finn finds Eirene during a chase and protects her from three of the Scatha Cruor. Little does he know that she may be something more than just coincidence.

My favorite character in this story is Finn. He is supposed to be this sexy, strong, courageous warrior-type vampire/werewolf breed who has been siding with humans for generations. He has always been truthful to everyone who is around as well as loyal. I liked Eirene; however, I found that her character was a little predictable. I also enjoying reading about the mysterious Roarke; his character shows some pain and respect when Finn introduces Eirene to the pack.

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading fantasy and erotica. This is definitely not for anyone under the age of eighteen due to sexual content and violence. I rate this with five stars because it is original, creative, extensive in detail and captivating. Even though I was able to guess the ending of the story, it was intriguing to read.

Finn wants nothing more than to end the centuries war that has killed so many including his parents. Regular people can't know the truth about him and his kind so when someone finds something out their minf is wiped of the knowledge.

Eirene just wants to do her work and help her friend find his missing daughter, midnight walks might not be the best idea, but they help her clear her mind. Besides she's not stupid she knows to keep her eyes open to her surroundings and always has a weapon with her so she's pretty safe...right?

One night changes everything for them when the enemy comes to a park when Eirene is there at night and is attacked, but she is saved by Finn and everything changes for the both of them.

Eirene is fiesty and smart with a good head on her shoulders and knows when to stand up for something and when to back down and keep her cool.

Finn is an alpha to the core but he's is a sweetie at heart, he thinks he always knows best but learns fast that just because he says something doesn't mean Eirene is gonna do it.

You're taken into a new world with a totally new type of paranormal that is a mix of many others. The way the story is told makes you feel like you're right there in there getting to know the characters and rooting for them to figure things out and save the day or just find happiness with each other. I loved getting to know these guys and can't wait to see more stories told.

The Cynn Cruors are a special breed of Paranormal Warrior. Vampire, Wolf and Human DNA were combined to create a creature with the speed and strength of a vampire, the enhanced abilities of the wolf and the human element that allows them to intermingle in our world while trying to rid it of the evil Scatha Cruors. Creatures created by a man that was a very powerful General in Caesar's armies and one of the first Cynn Cruors, he was consumed by greed and the desire for power over the humans and the world.

One set back, if you want to call it that, the wolf DNA spikes the Cynns libido after a fight, or during the full moon which in turn gives them extra added strength, but even more so if it happens to be his mate.

Finn Qualtrough, second in command and sniper is such a male and when he encounters the feisty Eirene fighting off the Scathe Cruors and saves her, he realizes what his father meant all those years ago when he told him about a Cynn Cruor finding his mate.

The action, intrigue and heat in this story was so scorching hot and I loved it. So much so, that after days of no power because of Hurricane Irma, I would not put it down and sorry because it ended. Good thing I was able to keep my kindle charged thanks to a friend that had power.

Finn is part Werewolf, part vampire, part human, he's a Cynn Cruor, an ancient tribe of these paranormal beings. Finn is hell bent on avenging the death of his parents at the hands of the Scatha Cruor, a rival tribe of paranormal beings who are evil, greedy and wish to lord over all mortals as opposed to living in harmony with them, as the Cynn Cruor do.
Eileen is a computer whizz who designs programmes for big companies. Unbeknownst to her, her latest client Dac, is the leader of the Scatha Cruor. She gets caught up in the crossfire between both paranormal tribes when she meets Finn.
I found this story to be really well written and actually quite an easy read considering it's heavy on the paranormal aspect. The sex scenes were absolutely scorching, like seriously, Finn and Eireen set the freaking pages ablaze!
I found the story intriguing, there are several plot points that leave you desperate for answers. This is the first part of a series so there are unanswered questions but I wouldn't describe it as a cliff-hanger. Each book in this series will be about a different Cynn Cruor warrior, so each couples story will be complete by the end of their book with a long running plot line throughout the series concerning the war between the Scatha and the Cynn.
I really liked this story and the paranormal world it's set in, I'm interested to see where it goes in the following books.

Rapture at Midnight (The Cynn Cruor Bloodline Series Book 1) I absolutely love shifters and vampires. Those are the 2 paranormal books that I look for. This book is not a normal shifter/vampire one as Finn, our hero, is a mixture of human, shifter and vampire. Well you know what, that was ok by me. When Finn ran into Eireen and realzied that she was his mate, well that just made this one amazing love story. She is human, but not a normal human, he realizes that she is a Cynn Cruor mate and not only that but his mate. She feels a connection to him too but does not know what it is all about. Eireen also works with her friend Devon and they are trying to find Devon's daughter who is missing. Facts come into play and they realize that a connection between all of them is the enemy, the Scatha Cruor, so they join forces and work together. This is an amazing and emotional read, the love between Finn and Eireen explodes on the pages with some oh, so hot sex scenes, very graphic, make your panties wet and melt kind. I loved this book. Now make a note, it is a series, so there is a cliffhanger of sorts. They continue looking for Dac, the leader of the Scatha Cruor and Devon's daughter and evolve around Finn's companions. I am so looking forward to reading the next one. Way to go Isobelle Cate!! I received this book from another author in exchange for a review.

Hmmm. Thoroughly torn with this book. I wasn't blown away but I wasn't disappointed either!
The premise perked my interest, PNR is a genre I don't read much of really but should do.
We all know Vampires are horny little so and sos, so obviously there is a hell of a lot of sex. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a good sex scene, but I just felt, in this instance there's a tad too much. It completely dominates the story.
Getting into the nitty gritty of the story, it's actually quite a good read. It has all the usual culprits found in this genre; historical feud between factions of beings, good vs bad, mortals and immortals. There's also a couple of underlying stories swirling around that got me thinking.
I think, if you're new to this genre, this isn't the best book to go for. A lot happens that PNR lovers would understand but may rave novices a bit perplexed. Having said that, I'm pretty sure a lot of those lovers are probably rolling their eyes and checking off marks on their tick sheet of "what to put in a PNR novel"!
I found it a pleasant read and am going to read the next in the series!

I'm so very intrigued with how this series is going to go!

I always have a special place in my heart for paranormal romance...especially vampires. These guys are a bit different from the traditional vamps, but they are still hot and sexy as hell!

I don't often have to say this, but dang...there's so much sex in this book! Like...dang...seriously!

I really like how the "mate" thing works too. To have this connection with another being, and to honestly just not question it or even fight it for that matter is refreshing. I think that's just because I've read so many books where all the person does is fight their feelings. It gets old after a while, so it's great that that definitely doesn't happen here! These two can't get enough of each other!

I love a good paranormal but seldom find one what is "different" then the rest. With Rapture at Midnight by Isobelle Cate, I did just that.

From the moment I started reading she had me intrigued and I couldn't put the book down till I was done, which happened to be at 2:30am this morning. BUT oh so worth it.

I love a strong female lead and Eirene Spence didn't disappoint. Her fight scenes where some of my favorite. She is one kick ass Bitch!

Finn Qualtrough was the perfect leading man and the heat that he and Eirene generated was smoking.

Isobelle did a wonderful job of giving me my HEA at the end of the Rapture at Midnight, while setting the stage for the next warrior, Roarke's story.

As I'm getting ready to start reading, Forever at Midnight, the second book, I find myself hoping to see more of Eirene and Finn as the war between the Cynn Cruor and the Scatha Cruor continues.

***4.5***

Part wolf, part vampire, part human, and hot as Hades, that describes Finn. Sure of herself, resilient, colorful heroine, describes Eirene. When three Scatha Cruor take to sniffing out Eirene, she kicks some furry ass. Now that's a heroine!

Finn is hot, hard, handsome, and one helluva nice guy, but he's also fallible. He's got an ax to grind and some well-deserved vengeance in mind when he runs into his mate. God I wish these noble Cynn Curor existed!

Isobelle's writing voice is smooth as fine wine, slides through the cells like sweet warm caramel, and is as hot as the red coals in the bottom of a firepit. I love erotic tales, and the only reason this didn't get a 5 star is because the back to back to back love scenes nullified the intensity. The story telling is very strong, and I'll be looking forward to the rest of this series. Brilliant Isobelle.

Rapture at Midnight starts with a prologue in Scotland in 1712. I immediately was like oh no is it all going to be set in 1712. It's not all set in 1712, after the prologue we go into to present time.
Finn is immortal. When they first meet he saves Eirene from danger. Finn knows that Eirene is mate. Eirene is human but she may not be entirely human.

Rapture at Midnight is very well written and all the paranormal elements are explained well. This story has a little bit of everything, it has suspense, mystery, romance, and some really hot scenes. It's a good read and it will keep you interested from the beginning to end.

I don't read many paranormal books but this first book in the series, and the first I've read from the lovely Isobelle Cate, has completely sucked me in particularly the fact it has vampire/werewolves. Finn was hot, hot, hot and so alpha male! The fact he was Scottish made him even more fantastic, as I enjoy reading books that take place there, that takes inspiration from my lovely county (yes, I'm a Scot!). Eirene (love the spelling of this name) was a strong character, not a simpering female, thankfully. I loved how she stood up for herself and knew her own mind.

I shall definitely be continuing with this series.

This Vampire/Werewolf book was hot, hot, hot. You meet all the main characters quickly which I loved.

Eirene is an insomniac and a computer genius who likes to take midnight walks in the park. (Crazy Lady haha)

Finn is a member of the Cynn Cruor who carry human, vampire and werewolf blood. Immortal Warriors.

His touch ignites a hunger inside her that only he can satisfy. He has to keep her alive and fulfill his mission!!

I was given this book by a friend and I loved it. I would recommend this book.

I have never really read vampire books before but when I was asked to read this one for an honest opinion I decided to give it a try. I am so glad that I did! This book was packed with mystery, action, excitement, and of course love. I really enjoyed reading about Finn and Eirene and I will be looking for the next book to find out more about what happens with them. Isobelle Cate has a wonderful style of writing that is both easy to read and very enjoyable.

Once back at home, she'd be able to take stock of things, and in time she'd forget Finn. Like right, who was she kidding?

Rapture at Midnight is the first in the Cynn Cruors Bloodline series and is one hell of a sexy paranormal read that will leave you craving for more.

Why was she such a sucker for bad boys?

Eirene comes face to face Scatha Crurors on one midnight walk and after showing that she tougher than she looks, Eirene flees only to come across Finn Qualtrough. Finn is left injured, leaving Eirene no choice but to help the dark hair, midnight blue eyed hottie that's already making her feel hot all over.

She nearly melted against Finn. She was a puppet in his arms and her strings were deliberately entangling themselves around him.

Finn Qualtrough is a Cynn Cruor warrior, vampire/werewolf/human and has no mate rather like the rest of the warriors. That all changes however when Finn comes across Eirene Spence. To keep her safe Finn must erase her memory of what happened but where would the story be if that happened? Circumstances throw these two characters together and Eirene opens her eyes to world that surrounds her...including her feelings for Finn.

"You're as insatiable as I am." Eirene smiled. "I never realized I was ohh..."

For those of you who enjoy steamy sex scenes then you won't be disappointed! The pages are practically smoking from the heated scenes between Finn and Eirene. Yet, the bond between the two of these is not forced and the story flows.

It was if she were to be a banquet for his pleasure.

Being the first book, there was enough detail to help build the story, Finn background, how Scatha Crurors & Cynn Cruor came to be, mate bond, the warriors within the team and a going story with a few leads into the series that will involve the other characters.

"Eirene, look at me. I want to see your eyes as I take you. I want to know how much you want me."

Looking forward to see where this series will take me as I now enter deeper into this world!

Eirene arched an eyebrow, her eyes filled with mischief.
"How much time?" she repeated.
"About three."
"Three minutes? Three hours?" Her eyes danced with sensual amusement. "Three seconds?"
"Eirene," Finn warned. "You're playing with fire."

Rapture Midnight
By Isobelle Cate
I have stated before that indie authors have opened the door for many talented authors to be able to step up. Well, this book is another example of an extremely talented author coming to the forefront.
I am unaware if Ms Cate is an indie author but I do know many of the books we read today would not be available if indie authors did not take a stand and I probably would not have even found this book if not for these authors taking a stand in our literature world.
It's a great tantalising read, definitely a +18 tale, but one that’s full of mystery and drama the whole way through.
Meet Finn and Eirene as they battle the scurge of the earth, Eirene had no idea of what she was getting involved in when she defended herself against 3 males who tried to attack her in the park, suddenly understanding that she was dealing with more than ordinary men Eirene tried to hide herself only to find another man who had strength and speed unlike anyone she had ever seen or met.
Finn didn’t know exactly what was happening when he suddenly found himself killing the Scatha (as these creatures were known) this was what he always did, but he had never felt the desire to protect someone like he did this woman in front of him, who was she and how could she defend herself against these creatures.
Without understanding Eirene had become involved in a war that had been going on for centuries even though those within the Cynn Cruor were determined to not allow her to understand what exactly she had stumbled into, but thus woman had a stubborn streak bigger than they knew so even the attempts to stop her from remembering them did not work.
The Cynn Cruor were a combination of vampire’s and werewolves and human so they had the best of both worlds and didn’t allow humans to become involved but little did they know Eirene and her friend Devon would play a huge part of their world.
Full of magic, desire danger this tale will take you into a world of morale and questions that will make you see our world in a different light, highly recommend with a unique storyline and amazing characters, grab a copy today if fantasy is your genre.

*I received this book free from the author.*

In the first book of The Cynn Cruors Bloodline series two types of Cruors are introduced. The Cynn Crours are a perfect hybrid, wanting to live alongside humans. The Scatha Crours want to rule over and eliminate humans. The war between them has been going on for centuries without an end in sight, until now.

Finn was on a mission, following three Scatha Crours, but what he comes across is a human fighting against all three...and holding her own. Not only was he impressed, but he was also drawn to her unlike anyone before.

"If she gave him a chance, he wanted to make it up to her. Finn wanted a second chance."

Eirene knew she should not be running at that time of night, but she didn't expect to be attacked by monsters or meet a man who made her forget everything but the way he smelled, and the way his touch felt. She's always been stubborn and independent so the fact she cannot stop thinking about him is irritating her to no end.

They both fight their attraction at first, it's pretty futile. Eirene is Finn's mate and the level of attraction that these mates have is off the charts. The 18+ is no joke...having a front row seat to this fiery attraction will have you engrossed within the pages.

"The way he always looked at her with a mixture of desire and tenderness. Of possession and freedom. Of promises and honor. Of love."

Although Finn and Eirene's story is primary, it is not just about them. There is a war going on and one of their biggest enemies, Dac, is closer than he has ever been. Finn will get his mate, but the hunt for Dac will continue into the next book.

Rapture at Midnight has suspense, a new vampire/werewolf hybrid prospective, romance, and dirty passionate sex. I will definitely be reading book two to see what's next.

Wow! “Rapture at Midnight” is book #1 in The Cynn Cruors Bloodline Series and the first book I’ve ever read by this author, but it certainly won’t be the last! I was hooked from the start with the unique paranormal storyline about specially created warriors of mixed-breeds, the ‘cruors’ - one clan good & the other evil. Add in the kick-ass heroine who saves the day more than once and this fast-paced story will keep readers engaged and turning pages!

I was so intrigued by the fantastically different plot, though I wish there had been more focus on the world building. Plus, I wanted to see more development between the likable H/h, and then many of the secondary characters, somewhere in between the overabundance of pages filled with detailed sex. Oh, BTW, this is definitely for Adults 18+ and yes, I did see the content warning before buying ;) but FYI, I strongly suggest wearing gloves & having a fire extinguisher handy in case your e-reader combusts! lol

If you like your PNR erotic with a side of suspense & action, then this is a must read for you! Still though, I highly recommend this to 18+ Adult PNR fans of fiction :) I’ve already one-clicked the next book & can’t wait to have time to read that one and the others in this series, coz this ‘inquiring mind wants to know more’!

Finn Qualtrough is a Cynn Cruor, an order of immortal human/werewolf/vampire warriors bred by an ancient alchemist who used old age magick to guard the human race from evil supernatural beings.
One set back, if you want to call it that, the wolf DNA spikes the Cynns libido after a fight, or during the full moon which in turn gives them extra added strength, but even more so if it happens to be his mate.

Eirene Spence is an insomniac hacker. In the midst of a long night of programming impenetrable firewalls for Dac Valerian, Eirene decides to take a stroll in the park under the full moon, and is assaulted by a gang of supernatural villains known as the Scatha Crurors, the nemesis of the Cynn Cruors. Eirene fights off her torturers but can't quite escape them, and just when she fears she's about to die, she's rescued by Finn. He realizes what his father meant all those years ago when he told him about a Cynn Cruor finding his mate.
If you found this interesting, Read it!
Have to say I was intrigued, I love paranormal romance and it was steamy.

3.5 star review
I really enjoyed the bases of the book being on an age old feud between 2 supernatural beings. I thought how Finn and the others in his order are the result of an alchemist very intriguing and made me want to know more. I thought Finn and Eirene compliment each other very well and was just a bit disappointed with how many sex scenes there were in the book which detracted from the great story line and characters we are introduced to it is due to this that it is a 3.5 star and not 4 star or more review. This book definitely left me wanting to learn more about what will happen next as well as get to know the others in the order more so I can't wait to start book 2!

I was given a complimentary copy of this book for an honest review for The Assassin's reading reviewing group.
