From the moment I could speak, I told stories. I loved how intrigued and entertained others would get, and it has become my addiction and escape. I have multiple sclerosis that stops me from working an average job. In a positive light, this has allowed me to put the majority of my time into writing and enhancing my craft. I get to live my passion, and not many people get to achieve that.

I have taken college creative writing classes because a writer can never learn too much. I have used my college degree of Advertising and Marketing Communications to grab reader's attention within my writing. I started networking and PR right out of college to build my writing brand.

I dabble in different genera's, but where my mind entangles with creativity the most is YA Fantasy. I want to show my readers that heroine's and heroes can be average and even disabled. It all comes down to personality, virtues and morals.

I reside in Canada. As I have moved from Ontario city life to south Ontario countryside, I have discovered life is bitter sweet where ever you go. Happiness is always what you make of your life. Now I just hope I can send positive messages to young readers while I entertain them. I still have a lot of wisdom to gain as I mature and experience life, but the best part is sharing my stories.

This was an excellent read for a debut novel. I was surprised because I didn't know what to expect. I kind of thought it was going to end up a romance but I quickly realised I was wrong. It was nice not reading a book about a perfect, beautiful, lusted after heroin. I also liked that Cora was disabled from being a burn victim and somehow has a stronger mental state than anyone in the book. She has her struggles with herself but overcomes it for her planet with the help of her friends.

I enjoyed the adventure and the back history of the Fyrainium war. The settle magic from the elements was a nice touch to bring excitement to book.

Overall I would suggest this book to a friend. I was entertained and felt connected to all the characters. The story is still playing in my head. I think you should read this.

First off I want to say that I was expecting a mediocre book from a debut Author. I was very happy it wasn't. Good for her. Yeah, there were about 11 grammar mistakes, but I always blame the publishers editor for that. That's not the Authors. I feel sorry for them when I see that. I mean how many times do you see the odd mistake from a bestselling Author, quite a lot. If you can look past the occasional mistake you will be jubilant you read this short novel.

It's a unique story. The heroin Cora isn't alone in her destiny to fight to find a cure for the Fyrainium virus to fix the planet. I found the science behind the making of a virus to show the great potential this author has for future work. You can tell she is an intelligent girl. I like when a writer leaves no room for holes. No room for how the hell did that happen? That's what I think made me finish this book fast because it didn't give me any annoyance.

Cora isn't your typical heroin either. She's not beautiful or physically healthy. She isn't amazing at anything that separates her from anyone. She's just a disabled girl who finds her self-pushed into saving the planet. She has fears and horrors from her past to deal with. Though she is strong mentally, she pushes through because friendship is the most important thing to her.

There are even two new types of creature that haven't been overplayed yet from other books. You have an Ashard which is a fire demon and a stone angel.

The best part no romance and she tricks you because when you meet the stone angel you think, oh yeah there going to fall in love. Well, guess what this heroin just need friends not a romantic suiter to aid her.

I think I loved Odessa the best because her character was cute and funny. She was also a great friend.

The ending ties in perfectly with the beginning. The end is better sweet. My eyes started to water because I thought, not fair

Important Information!!!!!!

Originality: I have to say the idea of naming witches, wielder was outstanding. This way you barely ever thought of them as over played out witches. He concept of the elements balancing out their planet was fantastic. This book was very original with the idea of the Stone Angels as well.

Book hangover: I still have this story going through my head. I dreamt about it last night. I was Odessa helping Cora save the planet.

Recommendation level: My recommendation level is 10 out of ten. It just passed my go ahead to recommend. Anything from an 8-10 is recommendation material.

Cover Art: I rate the cover a 7 out of 10. I like it, but I don't live it. I don't like the girl on it. She looks nothing like I would have expected Cora too. She doesn't have burns, and I know they put fire over half her face to get the illusion but it doest cut it. I also think she looks to old to be Cora.

Title: You can't pick a better and more interesting title than Fairic Stone.

Connection to Characters: I cared so much about these characters. I cried at parts because I could feel their pain.

Strong heroin or MC: I adore Cora. I would be her friend. She is a tough, strong, endearing, kind, loving, loyal friend. She is one determined girl.

Plot: There is back history that is put in that makes the story so intercut. The plot keeps going and then leaves room for action, suspense and character bonding.

Rising action: There is a lot of rising action to keep you entertained.

Foreshadowing: There is some foreshadowing but it doesn't ruin the story at all.

Emotional depth: Emotional depth is very strong in this story. The Author took her time to perfect that.

The conclusion of the book: I would suggest this book to all my friends because I loved it. I was entertained and cared for these characters. I got to read a book that wasn't like anything I've read before.

Overall Honest Book Review:

characters:

Odessa is the classic best friend who motivates and has the back of the protagonist. She is smart, witty and obsessed with adventure. She gets Cora in trouble; she complains a lot but in the end, she's the truest of best friends. You just can't help but adore her.

Lauren is a strong figure to inspire you. She's gone through so much but still doesn't give up hope. She's a great character to cheer for.

The stone angel, Jolon is a hero and an innocent. He is filled with guilt and remorse that can only come from saving the world.

Violet is a sweet older woman who is a gentle soul. She will do anything to save her planet, and she is the knowledge and motivator of the group.

Protagonist:
The main Character Cora is amazing. I don't say that often, but she pulls the whole story together. I was refreshed to see a heroine who wasn't beautiful, have many boyfriends. She was a tough, basically hated, rejected, disabled and a victim of someone's else's evil. She was very inspirational. The best part is she faced fear head on with her friends. She was a believable character who reacted the way she should to circumstances. I appreciated that in this new authors writing.

Villain:
Doctor Charter was a confused asswipe. Yep, I said it, he had this righteousness about him I couldn't stand because he was just a follower of the king who realized he screwed up and now had a mission to fix what he helped create. He was just a pathic dangerous man.

Plot:
The story starts off with the narrator giving you a bit of back history but it's needed. Then there is rising action that has suspense and a bit of mystery and more back history. He rising action is well paced and keeps you on your toes wanting more from the adventure. The plants were dying and the planet needs elements from wielders to keep it balanced. Fire element has been almost killed off. There so much, I can't tell you everything. I suggest you to read it. I thought this story was very creative. I haven't read stories like this. The magic yes but nothing with a stone angel. The best part was there were no holes in her writing.

dialogue:
The dialogue was funny at many moments between Odessa a Cora. This brought relief to what could have been too serious of situations. The speech of Jolon made my heart hurt. He's so innocent and caring. Inner thought from Cora was probably the most emotional for me.

Emotion:
The emotions were nicely scattered in this story. You had humor, suspense, anger, worry and sadness.

Ending: The ending pulled everything together and wrapped up the beginning beautifully. I don't want to give away the ending at all because it was fantastic. I cried that's all I'll say. Morally this book was good as well. It taught me that you never truly alone and you need to trust in your friends.

Fairic is a planet with two moons and an ecosystem thrives on elemental energy and is inhabited by mortals and spell wielders. There are four different wielders that are blessed with elemental power that keeps the ecosystem thriving. Unfortunately the fire wielders have been infected by a virus that turns them into demon Ashnards thus causing the planet to die out. Sixteen year old Cora is going through the change to become a fire wielder and with the help of her best friend she sets out on a journey to find a cure to the virus.

Fairic Stone had potential to be a very interesting read but unfortunately I found it very confusing and scattered. The story drops you into this world without much world building or character development at all and it really wasn't until almost the very end that things somewhat make any sense which for me was a case of too little too late.

The book starts off with little bits and pieces of a world with elemental magic and a king that had done horrible things but there's very little magic involved and almost no explanation of how the planet needs it. Then it jumps into following the MC Cora without giving us many details of what or why she is important which by that point if it hadn't been short I might have given up as I wasn't sure what was going on. About 10 chapters in it all starts to make a bit more sense but being a short read it was almost over at that point so I still found myself completely detached to the characters and story.

Overall, not for me unfortunately and not really one I'd recommend.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

The synopsis of the book made me thrilled to read it. The concept of an ecosystem balanced by different races using elemental power was a great idea so I had high hopes.
Unfortunately I found myself lost to understand the story. I didn't know if the pace of the book was the confusing element or the writing was the distracting part. I think it was the combination of both.
The story needed more development in terms of world building. The rapid pace in the story affected as a consequence my connections with the characters and especially the main one.
Cora was an okay character; didn't love her but didn't hate her. Despite an emotional event taking place towards the end of the book, I couldn't feel it at all. The writing and character building were to be blamed.
It would have been more interesting if we had more background stories that would have helped in developping the world created and the characters as well.
The end was okay because it was until the end that we understood the confusion of the beginning and how
All in all, it was a short story that had potential to be a great one but personally I didnt enjoy it.

Quick Reasons: I...am not sure I followed anything that happened in this novella; the timing is wonky; the characters fell flat; the prose and plotline felt rushed; I spent most of the read very, very confused and very, very frustrated

This novella was...strange. And usually, that's a good thing in my world—I'm all about the strange, after all! But...this was strange in a way I just couldn't get behind. It just didn't WORK, for me.

First off, the characters and the world-building felt really flat. Like...there are supposed to be all these awesome powers, and element-wielders, and magic! Except we didn't really SEE it, much, save brief snippets that passed in like two sentence intervals. The world-building was spotty, as well—we'd get told something, but details fell through the crack. Things weren't properly explained. And the things that were explained...were really confusing!

Also, the prose often contradicted itself. One thing would be said in one sentence, but then five sentences down the road it would all get turned on its head. There was a LOT of “yabba yabba”...as in, the narrator talked. A lot. About ALL TEH THINGS ever...except it felt like all that ever happened was talk, because everytime something important happened, or seemed to be about to, our MC fainted. Or got called away. Or was told it “wasn't important” when really, we, as readers, were dying for those details.

This was just...weird. And not in the way I like. I, personally, just couldn't get into it—I didn't connect with the characters, I didn't understand most of the story, and at the end of the read, all I felt was frustrated. I guess this just wasn't the novella for me, though it seems others really like it—it's got a pretty decent rating on Goodreads. So...not for me, but maybe it's for you?

(Source: I received a digital copy of this book for free on a read-to-review basis. Thanks to author C.R. Sedore.)

“I’m not locked up just because I might need emergency help through the change – it’s also because I’m a Fielder.”

Where to start with this book… I found it confusing.

Cora was an okay character, although she did come across as quite young, especially when she was sneaking off with her friend behind her grandfather’s back.

The storyline in this just lost me. We had information about witches called Wielders, and information about Cora’s mother who was able to wield fire, and was also infected with something, but the information was thrust upon us quite quickly, and I think the book suffered for it a bit. I found the story quite confusing, and even though the pace was quite fast, the story just seemed to be missing something for me. Even when I went back and re-read the second half I still didn’t fully understand what was going on, which was a real shame.

Thank you, C.R. Sedore, for the opportunity to read your book. This was a good read. The book had promise, but I was kind of sad that it was not what I expected. The synopsis was very intriguing, I just think it was a lack of flow. The world was not as complete as I thought. The book sometimes felt like a journal or diary.

I thought That the author needs to establish more of a connection with the audience through the world and the characters. For me, I was not able to connect with the characters as much as I would have wanted. I thought they were okay. The book was boring and confusing at times. This is a good start, just wish it could have been better.

(I received a copy from the author, In exchange for an honest review.)

I didn't love the characters in this, but they were okay.

I found this quite difficult to follow at times, so there were a few times where I felt confused. I felt bored at points because of it too, unfortunately.

Overall, Not a bad read, but not one for me.
