This is the conclusion of the Marko Delacroix series. Please read the first four books before this one. (Prey, Blood Bound, Lure, and Rule)I finally thought things were falling into place. I have Tessa, we’ve found happiness, and our roles in our world are clear. Little do we know, everything is about to fall apart.True rulers will rise, and others will fall. War is taking its toll on our kind and no one is safe.In a place where everyone wants to rule, few are willing to sacrifice themselves to prove it. With the betrayal we’re all about to face, some of us may not have a choice.WARNING-- This book contains very graphic violence, disturbing situations, and very strong language. Intended for mature audiences. **May have triggers for some, but if you've made it this far in the series you should be okay...**

4.75 "gasps" stars

Little do we know, everything is about to fall apart. True rulers will rise, and others will fall.

Love, hate – kindness and cruelty.
We vampires, had it all.

And yet it wasn't enough.

The most powerful ones got even greedier,
God, the devil, neither existed that I was aware of. To me, i was both, and I challeneged a power so great to stand against me. I controlled the fate of not only our kind, but of the world. I let them live or die-no one else. Me.- Aetas

they wanted it all, everyting, but first all needed to be destroyed to be rebuild
War. It was coming. Not only to the humans, but first, with ourselves.

even if it wasn't meant to be theirs, even if they had to get it by force, even if they had to pay the highest price...

Destinies are at stake as the deceit, ultimate betrayal, greed, treachery, mistakes, delusion, desire, passion, madness take over in the fight for the thrown, for the kinship,
It is time we stop fighting each other and come together...as one.

for survival.
A sacrifice had to be made in order to save you and our people. I would have done it a million times over. I love you all that much.

for EPIC love beyond measure, beyond limits, beyond any norms, rules...even beyond the highest laws...
Tessa is everything to me...she's what flows through my bloodstream. She's my life source – my entire fucking existence.

Three lives will be tested to the fullest, to the core of their beings fighting the odds against them, bonds will be broken, but never taken away,
The bond we shared may be no more, but the effects will last forever.

the limits of acceptance would be breached and the greatest fight would be within themselves....for themselves.

only to REIGN...again
... it will be my reign. And I will be ready.

What a remarkable ending to an epic love story. I couldn't write my review any differently than being a bit vague and tormenting myself with glimpses and hints of the helluva turmoil of events coming one after another and another in this final installment. And yet all along the fact still stands that undeniable, fantastic love is actually interwoven in the basic core of every single word written throughout every book in these series...

it makes you gasp at the impact and yet you root and scream and shout and get mad...only to be overwhelmed from the too much emotions...

It's unconventional, it's beyond any written rules and it's fuckin EPIC.

I loved Marko Delacroix story (told in 5 volumes – Prey, Blood Bound, Lure, Rule & Reign), the relationships, the complexity, the love and of course the backstabbing.

Alaska Angelini’s Marko Delacroix was a great read and I have been captivated by his story. The complex relationships which developed between Marko, Tessa and Hunter; we got to see how their relationship evolved and how they handled it. Aetas finally gets what’s coming to him and he is well deserving of it all; he was a very self-centered and selfish man/vampire.

I am having a complete book hangover after completing this series. This story has ripped me to shreds, then turns around and put me back together. I would definitely recommend Marko Delacroix (Books #1 – 5)!! It has been an amazing read, one of the Best Vampire books I have read in a while.

Reign is the 5th and final book to Marko's series. You have to read the books in order or you will be tragically lost. It's hard to find the words to describe the epic end of this wonderful journey I took reading this series. Reign threw me around like a rag doll, there's several twists and turns that left me spinning, and some elements of the story that left me enraged. I was fully engaged in this epic, action packed conclusion. Just when you think you know what's going to happen a twist blows up in your face and throws your assumptions to hell. Tessa, Hunter and Marko all redeem themselves in this story and to each other. I've never been this invested in a book series before nor do I think I will again. Each book in this series is fantastic and each one gets better than the last. The writing and plot lines are brilliant, the story is different than other vampire novels I've read and it's difficult NOT to fall in love with the characters. Each book is as action packed as the last however this one takes the cake. Reign took me for a hell of a ride and is a wonderful yet emotional conclusion to the Marko Delacroix's series. It's a series I'll revisit over and over.

***Arc given for honest review***

Marko, Marko, Marko (and Alaska!!)....I've loved you from moment one in the first book but you have tested me and put me through so much that I wondered sometimes if I would survive this!!! Reign is the conclusion to the Marko Delacroix series and it saddens me to see it end but from the moment I picked up this book, I couldn't put it down no matter how long I tried to make it last. I've just been so emotional through this whole series and up to the end, I still felt so many things and my mind was spinning until the last page. Each character brings something great to the story whether they are bad or good and it's amazing how they come to life within the pages. There will never be another series like this one and you are missing out if you haven't taken a chance on it.

Reign is the 5th and the final installment in the absolutely brilliant Marko Delacroix series by Alaska Angelini. Warning: books 1-4 must be read first.

“Everyone wants to rule. Few are willing to sacrifice themselves to prove it.”

Everything in the last four books has led up to this.
The world is in turmoil, not only for humans, but for the vampire world as well. Battles are waged, lives will be lost, and loyalties tested. Betrayal is inevitable when greed, power and obsession rule.

“War. It was coming. Not only to the humans, but first, with ourselves.”

The fates of Marko, Tessa and Hunter are revealed in this final chapter of deceit, brutality, and Manipulation. Who will rise and who will fall? Does love conquer all or will insanity lead them all to their graves?

“Love. It does things to us. Opens places inside, both good and bad.”

The journey Marko Delacroix has taken me on is extraordinary; nothing less than EPIC can be used to describe Reign or this series. I’d once said that Alaska Angelini made a world I never wanted to leave, and it’s as true now as it was then. This has been, by far, the hardest review I’ve ever had to write. I’ve had the worst book hangover since I finished this story, and have had to re-read Reign again and again because I can’t get it out of my head.

“If all I am cannot be saved, I relinquish this soul to the devil who loved me most. The devil . . . Not the men in my life who do his deeds.”

Alaska had torn my heart out, then threw it in the blender... and I loved every second of it. I don’t know how she was able to make every book in the series greater than the last, but she has done so. Watching these characters grow both together and individually was truly amazing. Not only are you able to feel every emotion they endured: the trials and tribulations, the feelings they evoke stay with you long after you finish reading. It’s no secret I’m a huge fan of this series, and have been since I first got my hands on Prey. I’m completely, emotionally invested in these characters.

“She lived in a hell of her own creation. She was the queen and I was the demons that fed her fiery depths.”

This was one hell of a ride from start to finish. She built me up so many times only to drop me on my ass. Not only were there more twists and turns than an M. Night Shyamalan movie, Alaska had me feeling it emotionally and physically: my stomach was in knots, my mouth was dry and my hands were shaking. I don’t think I’ve ever been so immersed in a story as I was with this one. In the span of five books, Alaska was able to cover the spectrum of the human condition from faith, growth, love, conflict, suffering and mortality. This was not just another vampire book, it truly was so much more.

“You don’t know how deep my devotion is to you, ma minette. Never has a heart loves so fierce. Never a beat thrummed so strong. I know you feel my love.”

As with every series, there is always a sad, bittersweet moment when it comes to an end. I don’t think I will ever get over it. It truly is one of those stories that stay with you for the rest of your life. But, if I have learned anything from Marko, it is that he will not go quietly into the night. He’s too damn stubborn and larger than life, and I feel this is not the last we will see of him. Like Tessa I will love him to death.

Long live the king!

Reign by Alaska Angelini is book 5 in her Marko Delacroix series and it is the conclusion to such an epic series that I am sad to see it end. Reading books 1 through 4 is definitely a must because you don't want to miss a moment of the journey that leads to the culmination that is Reign.

Marko Delacroix is such a great complex and strong character. I really really loved him in this book. Tessa and Hunter as well. They each are so well-written and the story throughout just flies with the action and intrigue. War is upon them, humans and vampires. Betrayal is imminent, allegiances will be tested, and sacrifices may need to be made. This novel is a complete rollercoaster and I couldn't put it down. What's more is Alaska Angelini just grabs you and pulls you into her world, floods you with so many emotions, and won't let you go until the very end. And even then, you're still reeling and hungover in the world of her creation and Master Marko Delacroix.

Overall, Reign is a thrilling conclusion to what is an original and outstanding series that I most happily recommend. I loved every word and can't wait to read what's next from Alaska Angelini.

Reign is the fifth and final installment of the Marko Delacroix series and is not a standalone novel. It must be read in order.

In this epic conclusion, the fates of Marko, Tessa and Hunter are revealed, as is the future of the vampire world. Loyalty is tested and worlds torn apart as our characters fight for their survival and that of their new home. Brutality is the name of the game, and no one is immune to it's harsh lesson. Reader be warned. Tears well be shed and hearts broken.

This is by far, the hardest review I've ever had to write. Besides feeling as if my heart had been ripped clean out of my chest by this story, I'm feeling so many mixed emotions from the end of the Marko Delacroix series. Joy that I've found resolution, sadness that Marko’s story is at an end, fear that I'll never again find a series as enthralling and thought consuming. Alaska Angelini has created something in the Delacroix series that few others have managed. Originality, passion and excitement.
Few authors have the gift of storytelling as profoundly as Alaska Angelini.

Truly Loved this series!
Wow! A wonderful ending to a fantastic series! I was taken captive from the beginning, led into a world of darkness, a world of vampires, a world of bloodlust. A place where only the strong survive. The way Ms. Angelini writes her stories you can see the vivid details, hear the screams, smell the underground and feel not only the pain these characters endure but feel the love they share. I am a little sadden to see these characters go that I have grown to love but the ending was all I needed to feel their bond and know that their journey is only beginning. They are after all Vampires..Who knows...they could rise again!

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!!!!!!

OMG THIS WAS THE BEST ENDING TO AN AWESOME SERIES!!! The leader of all the vampires is realizing that Marko is getting stronger then he's really comfortable with. He also wants Tess for himself. So he goes to the extreme of all extremes to get Marko out of the picture. Now I want to go back and start the whole series over. This author just keeps getting better and better. By far this was my favorite series.

Great series!! This last book could have used some editing which I didn't notice as much in the other books in this series. I am not sure how I feel about the ending. In a way it felt rushed, though I am not sure of a better way for it to have ended. Overall great series and would recommend the read!

I’m recently trying to read all of Alaska Angelini books because I just finished Boston/Annas series.
Those were couples goals… this one is just a big 🙂‍↔️.

I burned through this series in 2 days and I’m hating this ending…. What the 🤬 is up with this throuple from HELL.

I don’t care for why-choose romances because while the fantasy is nice the practicality is nonexistent. There are some good throuple stories out there and I like them but this one was NOT IT!!

This series is named after Marko but follows Tessas growth. Then gives her. HER. The HEA with two dudes. Sorry Marko… you get the death bed epilogue…Yea…. I wasn’t feeling it.

The best friend romance was soo forced on you throughout the series that it was giving major ICK vibes. None of the friends to lovers scenarios from this was working for me. When she snuck off to sleep with him in book 2 I was thrown. When he killed her (And Himself) I was hoping that was the end of him. (yea he got a shitty deal but A.A. Dark here she loves to kill off your favorite people.) And I didn’t like him anyway. He wasn’t written in anyway appealing. Then Tessa wants to kill him. Marko wants to kill him. But nope another loop because Tessa bonds to him!! 🤬😡I had to drop my book and take a break.

Un-bonding Marko. When this whole story was written revolving around them together and their love just for him to be like “yea bro, I’m good… we can share her. Should’ve done it from the start” … wasn’t written that way from the start. First/Second book had us picking teams like twilight and I can tell you the self righteous judgy McGee was not numero uno on my list (IF YOU COULDNT TELL)
… like I’m genuinely upset about this.

I was gonna read this anyway… but I feel betrayed.

This is the grand finale of this series and, man, was I surprised and a teensy bit let down by how it all wrapped up. I mean, I was hoping for something a little more out-of-the-box, you know? But hey, at least the editing errors were minor and the plot twists kept me on my toes. So, Aetas is the head honcho of all vampires and he's got everyone dancing on strings, trying to figure out his master plan. Tessa's next in line for the throne, but who's gonna be her main squeeze? Marko's always been a bit of a climber, so will he have to choose between love and power? And then there's Hunter, the vampire dark prince, who's been carrying a torch for Tessa. Who's he gonna serve? These vampires are a wild bunch, all about the killing, sex, power struggles, and backroom deals. Now, war's come knocking on the doors of humans and vampires alike. Who's gonna come out on top in the end?

The final book, I hardly wanted to read it as I've loved this series.

Marko and Tessa's love is strong but it has been well and truly tested over the 5 books.

This book has lots of twists and turns to keep us hooked.

If I'm honest I would have preferred Hunter to have a different ending, yes it all worked out but not how I saw things between the three.

I loved Marko and Tessa's love and connection.

A good finale and I'm happy with the ending

I enjoyed the series but I was a little disappointed with this book. I loved the end.. the very end. the last line with Marko, Tessa and Hunter. i just wished the author gave me more of them finally all together and enjoying or fighting or whatever.. i just felt the readers deserved that, After 5 books of fighting back and forth and killing each other we should of gotten a glimpse of their lives together.
