This author is one of my favorite BDSM writers. She creates and develops emotional tropes that explore how romantic love intersects with the desire for creative, kinkier sex. "For My Master" is one such example.
This story involves the personal recognition of Cynthia Storm for her desire to fulfill her sexual fantasy, craving even, for a truly Dominant man. Her need for a job places her in the path of Nathan Jones. The Shibari rope art in beautiful photographs plainly displayed in his office where he conducts the interview for a job for which Cynthia attempts to apply is a clue to his Dominant nature. The attraction between the two of these characters is instant. You could call it "insta-lust".
Nathan Jones is a wealthy, business focused man with a devastating appearance of a fit physique in a bespoke suit tailored to delight the female eye. He has hypnotic green eyes dappled with black dots. Oooh swoon my heart!!!
Cynthia is not without her charms. She is a beautifully pale, long haired beauty. Most attractive to Nathan is her intelligence and sexual curiosity with a sense of adventure. While a true submissive in the bedroom, she takes charge of her life and resists the lure of the lazy life of a "kept" woman.
Nathan holds fast to the idea that a submissive play partner is just that. He believes he cannot even romance this woman, let alone "love" her. Otherwise, he would not be able to deliver the pain pleasure to his partner that he so enjoys giving.
Naturally with his strong Dominant tendencies, his "control" of everything in his life takes priority...even control in his sex life. He sets parameters for his relationship with Cynthia to insure there is no romantic attachment on her part and maybe on his part?
Now, we as readers instinctively know Nathan has some lessons of the heart to learn. These lessons turn his world around. It is delightful to read about!!!
Our Cynthia is a strong woman and she is Nathan's "good girl" in more ways than one.
This is a relatively short read with an expansive epilogue. It is so deliciously hot, hawt, hot!!! Ms. May's genius lies in creating intense, beautifully written erotica with dual POVs. It made me think about the energy and focus a true Dominant, a true Master needs in "playing" with or loving his submissive. It is intense and the focus is pleasure for his partner, for his love. This for me is the lure...the delight...ultimately the fantasy of the truly Dominant male. His pleasure is her pleasure. Ooooh!
I wanted more. I tend to be a generous rater so I did not let this desire for more cost the author a star in the rating. My endorsement is genuine. This book is so good, you'll ask for more. One click to ignite your desire for "your" master.

What a wonderfully written book. Two people that have such raw chemistry as soon as they meet each other. Cynthia has wanted something in the bedroom that nobody has been able to give her. When she goes for a job interview and meets Nathan Jones. She has finally met someone that just might be able to give her what she needs. Nathan Jones finds he can't keep his hands off Cynthia. So he gives her a submissive contract that she just might go for.
This book gives you a submissive in bed but a strong-willed woman outside. A dominant man in and out of bed but a man that is trying to understand the submissive he has. These two are wonderful characters and this is a wonderful story! I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.

Undergrad Cynthia is having a rough time. She probably won’t get the scholarship for grad school she applied for, she’s getting pressure from her parents and counselor to get a job, and she finds nothing but hot men that turn out to be duds in bed. The morning after a less than stellar evening with a random hookup, Cynthia begrudgingly goes to an interview for a job she doesn’t even want at Jones & Jones. It’s obvious to Nathan Jones that Cynthia isn’t interested in the job, but she is interested in the naughty pictures of women in bondage behind his desk. Have they both finally found what they’ve been looking for?
There’s not much plot to the story. They both want a D/s relationship, but Nathan’s constantly reminding her that they can’t be more than that. Hell, he won’t even let her spend the night. What kind of dom beats his sub to exhaustion to just toss her out in the middle of the night? The hero is just an immature jackass that keeps taking his own issues out on poor Cynthia. I will give Cynthia credit for not taking his BS lying down (at least every time), though. If she were a total doormat I wouldn’t’ve finished the book. The story is pretty stagnant and I never felt the connection between them.
The writing seemed like it was telling me how great a lover Nathan is when I would’ve been more convinced if I was simply shown. And the author’s way of showing it was by having Nathan constantly referring to his previous conquests. Examples:
“Cynthia isn’t the first girl I’ve brought here…”
“My problem has never been to get women into bed, but rather get them out.”
“Usually when I bring a girl a girl here, I’m eager to move her to the bedroom as soon as possible.”
Yes, he’s had several lovers and the sexual experience of a professional athlete, I get it. If only more of the story was spent on Nathan and Cynthia’s interactions instead of being regaled with past references, I would’ve believed it.
There are countless books out there with the whole ‘man is afraid of love, woman breaks his rules by making him feel feelings, man tosses woman, woman forgives man the moment he wants her back’ storyline. If that’s the story you want then go ahead and read For My Master, but there are plenty others that are more worth your time.

3.75* Standard bdsm trope: H is m/billionaire, older, worldiler while the h is a recent college grad, strapped for money. Despite it all, I really liked that Cynthia was an ambitous and smart heroine who had been on a relentless search for a capable partner.

Cynthia needs funding to do her masters degree so she goes to Jones & Jones who are hiring in the PR department. The interviews are being done by Nathan Jones, the CEO. She's been warned that he's a bit weird but goes nonetheless in high hopes of a job. However, once in his office, he notices her intense scrutiny of photos around the walls. He think she would be a good submissive to his dominant so he doesn't offer her a job but, instead, he offers a deal. She is to be his play toy, his sub to him with no feelings involved, no dating, no relationship, just FUN and in return he will pay for her course fees. She agrees as she is feeling unfulfilled but suspects that this gorgeous, sexy man in front of her with his alpha personality and fantastic body will be what she needs. Linnea May as created two characters who make the other come alive and be fulfilled so that they are better together than without one another. He becomes less stoic and detached whilst she becomes more confident and they grow together. But Nathan gets scared and calls the arrangement off as his feelings for Cynthia are filling his every thought. is that the end of them? Maybe one will give in first...but who will it be? A really good storyline that I enjoyed and I also liked seeing the development in their personalities as they grew together. Yes there are plenty of sexy scenes and bdsm but nothing that I think that anyone reading this review would be upset by in the slightest. A thoroughly enjoyable book and one that I think is a real page turner. I received an arc of this book and voluntarily leave my honest review of it here.

Nathan Jones, CEO of Jones & Jones is personally interviewing interns for his PR department when a woman finally walks in who not only knows what the tantalizing photos on his wall represented but who seemed also seemed quite interested on the subject.
Cynthia Storm is a young woman who has looked hard to find the right man to sexual satisfaction, but keeps coming up really short, ending her encounters feeling wholly unfulfilled. As soon as she spies those photos on Mr. Jones’ walls, she knows exactly what she wants…And better yet, he offers to provide what she needs and wants, but only if she is willing to call him Master.
From the very onset of their conversation, Nathan sees something in Cynthia which fires him up and has him eager to train her as his sub. And then he finds he has to reign himself in with firm reminders of his very own set of rules, rules which he has rigidly followed for his past subs, rules which keep him in control at all times. Holy smokes this is a must read!!!! Another awesome book from Linnea May that will jump start your heart rate and keep you turning the page. Cynthia Stone is aiming for her Masters degree and very independent but holding out for a scholarship. She is also sexually frustrated looking for something she has yet to find. When Cynthia shows up for an interview at Jones and Jones she has no idea what she is about to find. Nathan Jones is a billionaire CEO that is also a Dominant with photos of Shibari in his office that captivates Cynthia. Nathan sees something in Cynthia and recognizes her need to submit. After an unusual interview Nathan knows he'll not hire Cynthia but poses a different offer, to train her as his sub. The rules are clear, no sleep overs, no dates, no feelings and no relationship, just his toy when he commands. Easier said than done since Cynthia is perfect in everyway. This book was hot with steamy sex scenes and BDSM—one-click and you are in book-orgasm. This story is a steamy and dark romance with gripping details, but it's also a great love story. I loved the characters of Cynthia Storm and Nathan Jones. Nathan is a billionaire CEO, who is handsome and sexy as hell, arrogant and a Dominant. Cynthia is a very independent woman who wants to get her Masters, and she craves something more to fulfill her sexual desires. Nathan insists on conducting the interviews for new interns in his office where pictures of Shibari, an art form, photographs are displayed of elaborate knots around bodies of beautiful women—wanting to see everyone’s reactions to the pictures. Nathan propositions Cynthia—what Nathan wants, he gets. The sizzling chemistry between Nathan and Cynthia is off-the-chart hot!! I enjoyed reading this story because it was captivating, engaging, entertaining, scorching love scenes that burned through my iPad, and a compelling storyline. I read this book as part of an arc program. I really liked this story about a young college graduate named Cynthia who wanted to continue to get her masters degree, but she needed the money to do that. So, Cynthia went on a job interview for a job that she didn't want. When she goes to the interview, she meets Nathan Jones and feel drawn to him. Nathan sees something in Cynthia and thinks she could be the submissive he wants. Nathan has some pictures in his office that are a little racy and when he sees the longing when Cynthia looks at them, he acts. Nathan then asks Cynthia to meet him for drinks and there he offers to be her master. Nathan offers her to be her Dom and to pay for her education if she agrees to be his, and only his for his pleasure. He does not want to be her boyfriend, or act romantically toward her, or even ask her to spend the night. Cynthia wants to be his sub and she wants a man to hurt her and take control, but she is unsure about Nathan paying for her. I really enjoyed this book, I loved the chemistry between Nathan and Cynthia. The interactions between them were so steamy and the care he showed afterwards really showed he cared about her, even if he thought he didn't want to. Another great one.

A Review of For My Master by Linnea May
Cynthia and Nathan - 4.5 stars
I am SOOOOO in LUST with the model for this cover! I love the neatness of his facial hair and of course there's his abs that are so lick-able. Once I got started on this book, it was so hard to put down for ANYTHING! I absolutely ADORED the relationship between Cynthia and Nathan, even though he never wanted a relationship, just a submissive. It's is so empowering to see a woman love her submissive side while still being independent and strong. Such an OUTSTANDING book other than a few grammatical issues!
Favorite quote:
"A man, caught in a sudden rain, dashes along the road not to get wet or drenched," I whisper. "But once one takes it for granted that in rain he naturally gets wet, he can be in a tranquil frame of mind even when soaked to the skin. This lesson applies to everything."

Cynthia and Nathan - 4.5 stars
I am SOOOOO in LUST with the model for this cover! I love the neatness of his facial hair and of course there's his abs that are so lick-able. Once I got started on this book, it was so hard to put down for ANYTHING! I absolutely ADORED the relationship between Cynthia and Nathan, even though he never wanted a relationship, just a submissive. It's is so empowering to see a woman love her submissive side while still being independent and strong. Such an OUTSTANDING book other than a few grammatical issues!

This one challenges me to be honest in my review. It was triggering for me so I'm very torn about what to say. It's FSoG over the top hot, but I'm not a fan of physical pain. I realize that's what works for Cynthia and Nathan is an artist in delivering what she needs. I just had a few cringe moments when she took her harshest punishments. I had to skim those scenes because I couldn't handle reading them in depth. Complete credit goes to the author for taking me places I'd rather not go, and for taking me there before I even realized that's where I was. The chemistry between Cynthia and Nathan scorched the screen of my reader. There was no doubt in my mind that these two needed each other. Watching the walls around Nathan's heart crack open is a journey not to missed.

A masterful story - steamy, sexy and passionate
Cynthia and Nathan - from the moment she sees him and the moment he sees her interest in his office pictures these two are meant for each other. Passionate, steamy, hot and lusty - they both give each other what the other needs. Then Nathan panics - their being together is not what he expected it to be and Cynthia senses his unease and she leaves. Nathan can’t focus now - he’s lost something precious so he needs to find it again. The pure submission and the safe, sane and consensual dominance, they are true halves of each other. I really enjoyed this story - I am a sucker for a HEA and the end of this book made me smile and wipe a little tear away. I am definitely reading Linnea May again, in fact I have already purchased the book for which there was a sneak preview at the end of this one.

I enjoyed the latest from Linnea May. When Cynthia finds herself in an interview she doesn't want to be at and yet meeting a man who has the potential to change everything. Cynthia has some dark desires that the college-aged men she has been with can't seem to measure up to, but all that changes when she meets the man in charge of her interview, Nathan Jones. Nathan knows having the pictures that he has hanging behind his desk may push the envelope a little too far he can't help but enjoy people's reaction to them. His latest interviewee is no exception, but her reaction to them peeks his interest and has him wanting more from her than giving her an internship. These two will heat up the pages, but when things get a little too real it will take a long hard look inside for both of them to get the ending they deserve. Originally applying for an internship, Cynthia ends up connecting with mega-billionaire Nathan Jones when she sees tasteful pictures of women tied up displayed as art work in his office. This fascinates Cynthia, as it is something she has been wanting to explore herself.
As the two move forward, Cynthia has to determine if she is okay with Nathan just being her Master...if that is something she is willing to accept. Will Nathan succeed in taming Cynthia into being his sub? Or will his idea of how things should be have her running for the door?

This was one of the most enjoyable books I've read by Linnea May.

Upon further discussions with Nathan Jones, Cynthia realizes he is everything she's ever wanted and needed and they devise a contact that covers - she being his submissive and he will pay for her masters degree, no matter what the out come of their arrangement.
A really steamy read and Nathan was a great character, I really liked him. It was interesting to see how their relationship changed and they didn't realize it.
If you like a hot read you won't go wrong with this one!

An emotionally charged, sweet heat with a dark tinge Billionaire Romance!

I have to say I wondered if this one would be my cup of tea as I got into the storyline more, but the gravitational pull between Nathan and Cynthia was such an intriguing twisted heart-tugging case of the feels I could not stop reading!
I had to know how this duo whose heat I swear could be felt coming off the pages of my Kindle would end up, and how the edgy, alpha, Nathan really was!
A hit you in the feels read with dark, passionate emotions that had me all over the place, and feeling so glad I stuck with this sexy beast till the end!

Beautiful BDSM story of Nathan Jones and Cynthia Storm. Cynthia is hoping to intern at Nathan's company but finds herself transfixed by shibari photos in his office. Nathan sees Cynthia's unusual reactions-the fascination and longing-and wonders if she might possibly be his next sub to train. Cynthia is strong minded and independent but has been looking for a worthy Sir to satisfy her cravings. Nathan only wants a sub, but he finds himself breaking his own rules where she's concerned. Can he relinquish some of his control and become flexible enough to win over Cynthia? This story was fast moving with high heat. So awesome that I read it in one sitting.

There is Cynthia Storm who wants to go to grad school but without a scholarship she didn't receive, she can't afford it. Neither can her parents. So she goes on an interview for a job, she really doesn't want. Her interviewer, Nathan Jones, knows she is not right for the job but he is intrigued by her and senses a strong chemistry between the two of them. He offers her the job of his submissive and he will pay for her education for her involvement in their BDSM relationship. Can she do it? She is rather reluctant and doesn't know if their arrangement will work. This is the kind of book you want to read until the end. Good characters and steamy!

Another Great story from Linnea! Cynthia wants to stay in school, but her parents won't pay, she has bills to pay, so even though she wasn't interested, she applied for an internship. Nathan needs a new intern, the next interview is interested in his erotic art on the wall. Which is a change from most people, who enter his domain! After a quick and hot encounter on his desk, he propositions Cynthia! She wants what he can give her, well except his money! She wants to be his sub, he wants no strings, so she agrees to to his proposition. The heart is a funny thing, and hen rules start being broken, it all falls a part.... or does it? A smoking hot read that I highly recommend! You won't be sorry!

Another winner
I think this is the fourth Linnea May book I have read. I truly enjoy her writing. Her phrasing of her characters observations, emotions and reactions are often almost poetic in their description. It really draws you in. Although she usually writes from the perspective of both protagonists, I find she is much more specific when speaking from the female's perspective. That really doesn't bother me too much, as I'm also female.
I don't feel the need to discuss the storyline as the one provided is enough in this case. This story is significantly less dark than many of her others, so if that's your leaning, read this one. Suffice it to say that I highly recommend this or any of Linnea May's books.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I have read many of Linnea’s books, and this one did not disappoint. Cynthia goes in unprepared for a job interview because she’s looking for a way to pay for Grad school. What she gets when she meets her interviewer is nothing short of salacious. Nathan offers her an alternative path to pay for college by being his submissive. When one rule is broken, Nathan ends their time together. But when Nathan discovers Cynthia refused his payment for college, he sets on letting her know that she is not the one making the rules. When Nathan meets Cynthia on campus, things take a turn for the better, but I don’t want to give it away…

This is a sexy intense must read. Wow!! Talk about a hot, steamy, BDSM book. Move over 50 Shades, For My Master is top dog here. Cynthia knows exactly what she wants but jas no idea how to go about getting it.
