And that's exactly the Reapers motto, at least in my opinion. They serve Death and while being the boogeyman to others their only goal is justice and following death's orders. But of course nobody said they can't have some fun while carrying out their missions, right? And that's what I love about this series. It's not too OTT with the whole fight for the greater good theme. It has just the right amount of action, romance, suspense and badassery that make the story work. I adore the heroines for being such amazing characters and that they know who they are and what they want. And lets just say that they also know how to show the boys what's what. They sure as heck sometimes need it.

description

Anyway, I was so excited for Talin and Neve's story. Since I've read the previous books I already knew some bits and pieces about how Talin's journey would look like but to actually read it, yup, I really liked it. Their story stars a bit differently than in the previous two. Both knew each other already and are very familiar with others likes in the bedroom. Now I'm not sure I liked that, since I would have loved to see the build up of their reationship and how they met. But in a way we still get that, since Talin is hiding his true identity to her and others. No fae or human is to know that reapers aren't just a myth and for everyone who finds out their truth, the only thing that awaits them is their death. So, imagine how hard it is for those two to find the middle point in their already fragile relationship. Aaaaaaaaaand it get's worse...

description

Guess who's back? None other than the sunshine Bran. The sweet devil who's consumed by his hatred for Death and their Reapers. Long ago he made the mistake of falling in love and since their secret is sacred, his love had to die. And with her, his humanity and sanity died along. Now, his mission is to bring the same pain and anguish to those who robbed him of his happiness. Unfortunatelly for Neve, she just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and tied to the wrong man. I felt really bad for her and what she had to go through. But in the end everything has it's purpose.

What I also loved were the secondary characters. The Light Fae queen is definitely a character I would want to know more about. I have a feeling she will play a mayor role in the upcoming events.
All that's left to say is that I can't wait for the next story!

4.5 Stars. Neve was an awesome heroine. She did not fit the mold of the self absorbed light fey and managed to become something pretty special even among snakes. Talin felt a pull to Neve immediately and was able to establish a relationship with her while still doing his job. Bran exploits the connection between Neve and Talin to try to do damage to the reapers. Betrayal, Death and love all make this quite the exciting story. We get a glimpse at other characters from this and the Dragon King series and I've got to commend Ms. Grant for how well she meshes the lines and for how mysteriously she's weaving Rhi into the stories. Just when I thought I had it figured out, she throws something in that makes me question it lol That's some serious talent. I am DYING to know when we are going to be put out of our mystery. The anticipation is palatable >.< Safety: No OW/OM/Sharing. No abuse/rape. Neither are Vs. No condoms. No pushing away.

The romance between Talian and Neve was amazing, but for most of the book I was lost. Who were these two? Plus there's all this talk of the Light Queen being an actress and not there. Then there Rhi and Dragon Kings.

Now what happened to Eoghan? And we all know who Cael is going to end up with...

4 - "Welcome, Reaper..." Stars!

This series just keeps getting better and better with each new book that the author adds to it.

I think the main reason being in that although each book focusses on an individual Reaper getting their woman, in this case its Talin with Light Fae; Neve Everwood, the daughter of a well-known and powerful Fae Family in the Light Court.

"Don’t believe everything you see or hear. Trust your heart."

The flow of the main story-line pulls everything along and keeps everyone else involved. I also like that when the author answers one question within the plot, it usually brings about two more questions to be answered off the back of it.

There are multiple POVs going on again in this one, and you 100% need to have read the previous novellas in the series, otherwise I think you would really struggle to understand what is going on especially the whole Bram situation, and the subtle undercurrents between Erith and Cael that seem to be getting more obvious with each book we get.

"We’re assassins… We kill. It’s our job, it’s everything we do."

It's difficult to say too much about the story, as I said being part of a series, a lot of what goes on in this will give away spoilers for the previous books, but if you are looking for a side order of magic and mayhem with your romance, then the Reaper series is certainly one you will want to check out.

If the truth escapes, Death will commence.

No news on when the next book is due, but they seem to be coming in three monthly increments, so fingers crossed I won’t have to wait too long to continue reading this series.

"I’m so glad you’re with me."

In the third book of the Reaper series by Donna Grant, things are really starting to get interesting. So far, the DARK ALPHA’S DEMAND is my favorite book in the series. It has everything from mystery and intrigue to exceptional romance and suspense. If you like fae, then you’ll definitely love this book.

Talin is the hero of this book and oh man, he’s a delicious one. There was something about him that really stood out against all the other heroes in the series so far. Perhaps its the mystery of who he is or maybe it was just the difference in the backdrop of this story, but from the very first page I found myself immersed in this storyline.

Neve is another exceptional character. I liked her immediately and there was something very ethereal and alluring about her character. She’s soft but also strong at the same time and when she becomes suddenly poisoned, Talin must act quickly before he loses her forever.

Grant’s writing paired with this particular world is a perfect match. She was really able to capture their romance from the very beginning and with everything else that is happening, that can be tough to do. If you’ve read Grant before then you know that she writes very complex worlds that tie into one another. So to have the romance be as strong as it is in this one is an incredible feat, especially since Talin is actually there to spy on Neve.

If you are interested in trying out this series, I’d suggest starting at the beginning. The world is growing and with that comes more backstory that can be shared and understood in one book. But trust me, it’ll be all worth it in the end.

Whenever I start an arc from a beloved series I can’t help but think to myself, “what a lucky girl I am.” This is exactly how I felt when I started Dark Alpha’s Demand, and that feeling stayed with me throughout the book.

I wasn’t sure about Neve at first, seeing as she’s a light fae and a lot of them are self-absorbed prats. Thank goodness Neve was nothing like this. She was strong, exceedingly smart, and unbelievably loyal.

Talin was just as wonderful as I thought he would be. My heart just ached for him as he raged against the circumstances that would ultimately keep him from Neve but he still stayed loyal to his Reaper brothers and Death.

We aren’t given the story of how they met and how their relationship progressed other than the fact it was an instant connection. I think having the story of their relationship and Neve’s backstory with more of her family dynamics and her fight for at least some independence would have made for a much richer story.

Still, I ended up adoring Neve. She ended up facing more than either heroine who preceded her in this series. As the story progressed, you knew that something drastic was going to happen and it was not going to be good. During one extremely heartbreaking scene that had my eyes misting up a bit, I just wanted to reach into the pages and hug her.

We finally get to truly meet Rhi and I loved her! Her attitude, snarkiness and the fact that she could be the poster child for badass women has me just dying to know more about her. I cannot freaking wait for her book.

As short as this was and even though I feel parts were missing, I had a great time reading this (except for when my heart broke, but really even then). Although we did get a few answers about Bran, lots more questions kept popping into my head. The most important one about what’s happening with a certain Reaper has me on the edge of my seat waiting impatiently for the next book. Write faster Ms. Grant!

3rd installment in The Reapers Novel is the story of Talin and Neve. While these can be read as a standalone, I wouldn't suggest it. Each character is continued on to the next book. Each installment are about one of the Reapers finding their mate while in the middle of fighting a war with a spurned Reaper.

The one issue I have with this storyline is that a Reaper is not allowed to tell the Fae who they are even if they fall in love with one. If the Fae find out about the Reapers, they must be killed. Why? The only thing I can gather is the Fae apparently can't keep the Reapers a secret, so they are destroyed. Is this based on truth or assumption that Fae can't keep them a secret? I don't know. It seems harsh either way.

Reapers work for Death who is named Elith. When Bran, one of her Reapers told his lover, a Fae, that he was a Reaper, Elith killed her, hence the start of the war. Unfortunately for Talin, Neve is a full blood Fae.

Will there be a way for Talin to keep Neve? That's what you learn in book Three. I enjoyed the story. It's creative and maturely written. I have issues with the rules for the reapers but then there wouldn't be a story without it. Will I continue to read more from Donna Grant? Definately!

Erith also known as Death has sent Talin to spy on the Light court although I’m not exactly sure why. At the opening of Dark Alpha’s Demand Talin is already very well acquainted with Neve. They’ve been enjoying each other’s company as soon as he comes to court. As a Reaper and a spy he’s there often but most of the Light knows little to nothing of him. That’s simply the life of a Reaper, no one can know who he truly is. Death (not the woman) is swift for those who know of the Reapers.
The obvious thing for the Reaper’s to investigate is all of the turmoil and unrest within the Light court. Readers know from the Dark King books that Usaeil is more interested in fame and starlight than she is of her queenly duties. Someone is spreading rumors of Reapers around to anyone who will listen. The queenless court is all aflutter over it. When every member of the wealthy, prominent, and influential Light family goes missing and all finger point to the Reapers the gossipy Light does the only thing they know to do, they hide in fear of the ones they were taught to fear from childhood.
While I feel like I missed out on the meet and greet that that got Talin and Neve into seeing each other there is a plus side to that. I feel like a lot happened in this Reaper novella. That missing piece allowed for so many other directions for Donna to go with this installment in the series. The final climatic fight scene has me eager to get next book in my hands. I’m dying to know where part of that went. I’m of course excited to see who the next female will be and what she will bring to the growing Reaper crew. Bran is managing to stay just one tiny step ahead of the Reapers and there’s a reason for that. I’m looking forward to seeing how it all plays out.

I love the Dark Kings series by this author. This one, Reapers, is a spin-off from Dark Kings. The two have begun to intertwine so I decided it was time to dive into this series. But I wasn't a fan of the first book. The second one was better, this one not as much but I'm glad I kept reading after that first book.

The reapers answer only to Death and she can be a bit mysterious. With an enemy that keeps targeting them, the reapers continue to do their job. Talin has been under cover at the light castle. There he met Neve and fell in love with her, before this book opens. But reapers aren't supposed to let the Fae know who they are. It's a death sentence for the Fae. Talin tries to hide things from her but it definitely has had a impact on their relationship. Their story plays out as Bran, the reapers enemy, decides to kidnap Neve's family. And the story is on.

I do wish we had seen the part of the story where they fell in love. It's in the past and the story is just about how Talin tries to deal with it. One of the best parts of a romance is watching them fall in love. I missed that in this one.

I don't enjoy this series as much as I do the Dark Kings. This is book three and it already feels like the whole Bran as an enemy is being dragged out too much. From the looks of the series, that doesn't seem to be resolved till book 7. Kind of makes you wonder just how amazing these reapers are that it takes so long to deal with this issue.

I did enjoy that it wasn't another carbon copy of books 1 and 2. Both of those books involved a half Fae. Neve is light Fae. It does make things harder since the rules about her knowing about the reapers prevents Talin from telling her who he is. It makes for a change, though, I will admit to guessing how things would end.

These books are novella length and just don't have the same depth as the Dark Kings. I really wish they were novel length and had more details, more story. It would make the fact that the same issue never getting resolved less annoying.

Of course, I will continue to read. They are fast reads and have lots of cross over to the Dark Kings. Rhi is in this one and even the Kings make an appearance. But the author has said that these books will begin to connect more and more with the Dark Kings books. I need all the information, so I read on.

I wouldn't read these books stand alone. I do think the author attempts to make things clear in each book, but it would be very confusing to read one without having read something about this world.

I enjoy the story but it's not really as good as it could be.

The Reapers series has a lot of information from the Dragon Kings series. We discover that everyone know who the King love Rhi's is. Usaeil as the queen could put some order in her kindgom but she has others sights and that is not good for the Faes.

Reapers are a legend and to be feared. Bran again is plaining how to destroy all the Reapers and Death- the similiarities to Urikk's story is equal here. And apparently he is succeeding- and that was clever and finally kill him.

The new couple is Talin and Neve I keap reading Never argh......who already are having a relationship because Talin wants to know some info about Bran in the Fae's court and Light and Fae was very confusing to me. Their relationship was ok. They had some moments and all the final event made me happy to how one sacrificy and the other don't wanna be suck by the dark.

I am impressed, this book starts calm and BAM... Bran try to catch the Reapers-again-and for me was the same old tricks but turns out very good and a lot of action . And death. We learn too how the Reapers became what they are-by betrayal.

Rhi making appearance in this one annoys couse she is the special one yet still refreshing to the plot. So there is a lot in this book and I will stop NOW to talk.

Least favorite..

OK, this is not one of my favorite Reaper books. Talin and Neve and the other Reapers are in the hall of the castle getting ready to go after Bran, who had kidnapped Neve’s brother and parents, when she suddenly tells the others that she needs to be alone with Talin and they disappear. They end up in one of the castles many rooms where they proceed to have sex. Really? Cael, Kyran, Fintan, and Eoghan wait there in the hall while the two go have sex? I don’t get that at all!

We did spend time with Rhi, and Erith the Devil, and that always exciting. I think Daire in falling for Rhi and I can’t see how that’s going to turn out. I mean, what about her Dragon King? It’s getting confusing. Also, Cael IS in love with Erith so I’m wondering where that’s going to go.

At 82% the battle with Bran has ended and, of course, he got away. And Erith is still wondering why her magic keeps dwindling and Bran’s keeps getting stronger. I’ll be glad when this deal with Bran is over. It’s becoming tedious and boring.

Other problems, serious problems! I’ve listened to several of the other Dragon Kings books and even though Antony Ferguson does lousy women’s voices at least the Kings sound like men. In the other Reaper books I simply read them so imagine my surprise when Roman and Con showed up near the end of this book, the ONLY one I’ve listened to, and the MEN sounded feminine. If you’re going to have the same characters in different series’ then why the hell would you have one narrated by a man and the other by a woman, a woman that can NOT do men’s voices? Totally ridiculous!

There was certainly explicit sex in this story and the F-bomb was used 4 times.

As to the narrator: There are 2 written reviews on Audible and neither one mentioned the narrator, which is kind of silly since AUDIBLE is supposed to be where you review the narration. So, let me do it for them: the narration sucked. Victoria McGloven does not laugh or whisper or anything else. So many times someone would whisper something, even in someone’s ear or a crowded ballroom where you don’t want others to here, and Ms. McGloven would just about yell whatever it was that was said. The newest Reaper book is out and Victoria McGloven narrates that one too. I’m still up in the air as to whether I’ll buy the Audible or not. But this book was read in April 2016 and the next one, Dark Alpha’s Lover, just came out today. Maybe Ms. McGloven’s gotten better?

Neve knows that Talin is hiding something, with the way he´s always tightlipped about his coming and goings at court, but when her family is targeted she´s about to learn something unbelievable, and life altering. Is she ready for what this will cost her?
Talin´s life as a Reaper has him used to subterfuge, but his growing feelings for the Light Fae makes this really hard. When she needs saving he´ll have to make a choice..
PNR Romance, action, suspense and feelings in a great combo and a world I can´t wait to return to.

Dark Alpha's Demand is third entry into the Reaper series and it has left me mixed feelings. Actually not mixed, guilty feelings. Is it wrong that I was more excited about side stories than the main story because I feel I should be and yet…

What is going on between Talen and Neve is very exciting. He’s sent to Light court as a spy although I’m not exactly sure why. Anyhow, there he meets Neve and they hit it off. However, falling in love for Reapers is a no-no so Talen struggles with his feelings. Neve is equally attracted to him and knows he has secrets but doesn’t know what it is. Life at court is filled with turmoil and uneasy enough as it is with the Light Queen not being there but romance with is forbidden (on his side) just makes things so much more intense. But wait, there’s more! Throw in rumors that there is a Reaper at court and that someone is after Neve. Whew! Never a dull moment for these two.

I really did enjoy things between Neve and Talen, all that forbidden love, the struggles and intrigue. Yowza! The first half of the book was all them and I was set for this to be the-be-all for me to enjoy. Then the plot about Rhi and Reaper Daine and what makes her so important to Death…SQUEAK! Death and her fading powers. Will Seamus find out the secret…EKE! Bran, come on Reapers! Kill him already…Argh! Cael needs to man up with Death…ACK! And then there’s Eoghan…I can’t even! See so many plotlines that have grabbed my attention from the main story line of Talen and Neve.

I should feel guilty that all those side stories have stolen my attention away, yet I don’t because they have really livened up this series. As for Talen and Neve, I expect to see more of them in the future books. Now to patiently wait for the next book to come out!

Dark Alpha's Demand reveals a lot of what the light court is like. Snobby fae if you ask me. The Light Queen is being a mystery and Death has Talin under cover in the light court to discover what he can. While he is undercover he meets Neve, a light fae from an influential family. Since Talin is in his undercover mode, he feels it's ok to have a side relationship with Neve. Unfortunately he finds himself falling for Neve, but his time as a spy is coming to an end which means he will have to give up his relationship. It is known that Death will kill any Fae who has knowledge of the Reapers, so Talin really struggles.

Bran is still a factor with his chip on his shoulder about Death and the other Reapers. His powers are gaining and something is happening to Death.

I loved Talin and Neve was a kick-ass fun heroine. Both the action and the struggles with the love relationship were really good. How these couples are going to work out with Death's rules is always a puzzle, so I worried throughout the book how Talin and Neve were going to get their HEA. I was not disappointed and am thrilled with how it all worked out!

RUBBISH!

Absolute rubbish. I hate to give books a bad rating, but this one left me no choice. The editing was so abysmal that it was difficult to read. Em dashes everywhere! Words that didn’t need any hyphenation had them. Where there should have been en dashes (as in half-Fae) em dashes were used (half—Fae). Em dashes were used were commas should be used. It was an em dash clusterfuck!

Also, spell check must have been used as opposed to a human editor, because there were glaring word choice mistakes that only a computer can make (e.g. next of vipers).

Authors, do not leave the polishing process up to the editor or spell check program because they can do to your book what was done to this one.

I can’t even tell you if the story was any good because the editing was just so bad.

There is something about these books that makes me more invested in the long run storylines than in the characters the books are based on. I liked Talin, and I liked Neve, but I’m way more interested in Rhi and what could potentially happen with Daire. Even though I know I am wasting my time really liking that pairing, I can’t help it. Their small parts in this story stole it for me.

Both romantic and thrilling with arresting plot revelations and an epic battle!!!!!

The seven there are, warriors all.
Do not do wrong or their blade will fall,
Their appearances shrouded,
Their approach, clouded.
Against evil they fight.
Power and magic are their might.
They serve only one.
If you expose their identity - run.
Secrecy is their defense.
If the truth escapes, Death will commence.

DARK ALPHA'S DEMAND by Donna Grant features arresting series' plot revelations, a steamy romance, lots of Rhi (she's beyond magnificent and there can't ever be enough of her!) and an epic battle! I finished reading DARK ALPHA'S DEMAND in this morning's early hours as I absolutely could not sleep until I'd read the last word. Now, I need the next book!

This is the third book in the author's Reaper series - which is a spin-off from and is occurring in tandem with her Dark Kings' series. Each book can be easily read as a standalone, but the reader might miss some of the development of the danger plot which has taken place over all three Reaper books by doing so. That said, I recommend reading all the books in her Dragon Kings and Reaper series as they are all fantastic and events and characters are overlapping between the two.

DARK ALPHA'S DEMAND is primarily the story of Reaper Talin and light fae Neve. Both are experts at navigating Queen Usaeil's royal court. I found the ins-and-outs of her court to be intriguing. I was captivated by how Talin and Neve met as their hot chemistry ensnared each of them from the start. Neve was an upright, smart and caring heroine and Talin was a sexy, tortured hero understandably galled by the unfairness of the rules. My heart broke for both primary characters as they each suffered cruel betrayals. Their relationship was doomed from the start - but I held onto hope that love would find a way.

Rhi is nothing short of dazzling. Within this story, readers learn that she is well-respected and her feats are legendary. She is truly resplendent and, while she's still having an affair with a certain dark fae, there's another special someone waiting in the wings who I hope she discovers soon.

The threat plot thickens as the despicable enemy of the Reapers illustrates, again, that his villainy has no bounds. He has no care for anyone but himself. It appears that the Reapers and the dragon kings will connect soon too! If you are a fan of the Dark Kings and/or the Reapers, you simply must read this book to get all the scoop!

This installment was fast-paced and teeming with danger and high-stakes action. The romance was sweet and hot. This book was solid from start to finish with conflicts, passion, and spine-tingling anticipation. I highly recommend DARK ALPHA'S DEMAND to anyone who enjoys paranormal urban fantasies that are both romantic and thrilling.

Talin, a Reaper, is on a mission from Death. Man, doesn't that just sound so ominous. *cue scary movie music* It's not quite that eerie though as his mission is to spy on the Light Fae court. This court is just like any other group, minus their heritage and abilities of course, insomuch as you have the usual personality traits to wade through. There is one bright spot to his assignment though...

Neve, a member of the court, was in awe of Talin from the first day he appeared, acting as if he had always been there. The connection between the two was undeniable and they've been together since day one, yet Neve knows he's not telling her everything. Plus, she's got a secret she hasn't shared either.

Talin is in love with Neve, though he hasn't admitted it to himself yet, but he knows with her being fully Fae she can never know who he truly is as Death will not allow it. Neve knows her time with him is limited, but it still hurts to have that theory confirmed. On top of that, she's wondering who has been leaving her "gifts," as well as watching her, and the continual urging of her father for her to settle down. They part, regretfully, knowing they can never have more than this time together.

But can Talin keep his distance though when Neve is hurt, when her family is threatened? Who is stalking Neve? Does it have to do with her family or her relationship with Talin? Can Talin keep her safe and take out the bad guy? Will Neve be allowed to know the truth about Talin? Can Neve go on after all she's learned and witnessed? Will they have to let each other go? Or can they have a HEA? Is a certain Reaper, one that shall remain nameless and was watching our favorite Light Fae in this story, the next book in the series? Oh man, I hope so because those two were interesting to observe in this book, as was his thoughts on her, and I have a feeling they'll be combustible together.

One-click now to learn more about the Reapers, the Fae, and how two people cope with their forbidden love. While this is book three in the series, I think each book could be read as a standalone without feeling lost, though I do recommend reading the series in order as the premises, characters, etc. are worth it. Psst...I have to confess. There were times while reading this book that Don't Fear the Reaper (even though they all do in this book) by the Blue Oyster Cult kept running through my head. *There's today's earworm for you. LOL*

In the third book of the Reaper series by Donna Grant, things are really starting to get interesting. So far, the DARK ALPHA'S DEMAND is my favorite book in the series. It has everything from mystery and intrigue to exceptional romance and suspense. If you like fae, then you'll definitely love this book.

Talin is the hero of this book and oh man, he's a delicious one.

She's soft but also strong at the same time and when she becomes suddenly poisoned, Talin must act quickly before he loses her forever.

Grant's writing paired with this particular world is a perfect match. She was really able to capture their romance from the very beginning and with everything else that is happening, that can be tough to do. If you've read Grant before then you know that she writes very complex worlds that tie into one another. So to have the romance be as strong as it is in this one is an incredible feat, especially since Talin is actually there to spy on Neve.

If you are interested in trying out this series, I'd suggest starting at the beginning. The world is growing and with that comes more backstory that can be shared and understood in one book. But trust me, it'll be all worth it in the end.

Another great story in the Reaper series! In book three Bran, the fallen, is back at work trying to get revenge on Death and her Reapers. He has a plot in place that will disrupt some of the light fay and perhaps allow him to murder some of the Reapers. He is truly evil and set on revenge.

Book three is also the sometimes steamy story of Talin and Neve. With Death’s laws stating that Fay will meet a swift death if they become aware of the identity of Reapers it is not easy for Reapers to have long term relationships, be honest with those they might fall in love with or have a happily ever after. Neve, being a Light Fairy is in harm’s way by loving Talin – especially if his secret comes out.

There is murder, mayhem, torture and more in this action packed story. The Reapers stand together as they continue to do Death’s bidding while trying to deal with and put Bran out of action. I am looking forward to book four in the series and wonder if Rhi will end up with a Dragon or a Reaper…leaning toward Reaper…time will tell. I also want Death to find out she should not be alone and end up with the man I think is meant for her. Intriguing series and a fun read for me this afternoon. And, not having read any of the books in the Dragon series but having read reviews that there are overlaps in the two series, I am getting curious and wondering how to get my hands on copies of those books, too.

Thank you to NetGalley and Saint Martin’s Press for the copy to read in exchange for an honest review.

'Dark Alpha’s Demand' by Donna Grant is book three in the "Reaper" series. This is the story of Neve and Talin. This can be a standalone book but I would say read the whole series... they are that good but it is nice to get the full story of what these books are about.
Talin and Neve both were very much attracted to each other from the start. Talin meet Neve when he came to be on a mission to spy on the Light Fae court. Neve is fully Fae that makes is almost impossibe for Talin who is a Reaper to actually be with her in a permanent relationship. But when Neve is found to have someone out to hurt her Talin goes into protective mode.
Can Neve and Talin find they can be together by over coming their obstetrical. How will Neve feel when she learns who Talin is actually?
Another great book by Ms. Grant.

Talin exist to exact vengeance on the Fae for their wrongs per Death’s orders but things go awry when Neve captures his soul with just one look and someone sets to kill her and expose Talin as a Reaper in this sensational paranormal romance.

Talin’s plight catches readers by the heart and has them on pins and needles throughout the story as the chemistry between Talin and Neve burn up pages and grows ever hotter even though Talin’s knows that it’s a relationship that can never be. In addition to the suspense of the forbidden romance, lots of expectation and excitement keeps readers on their toes as Talin discovers that he will have protect Neve from an unknown enemy, one that knows what he is and will stop at nothing to expose him and let me tell you that this story is full of surprises that makes reader’s hearts pound with expectancy as the well written and fast paced plot thrills readers with lots of suspense, excitement and romance.

I don’t know what’s going to happen next but if Talin and Neve’s story is anything to go by, this series is going to continue to be an exhilarating and fascinating ride with some intriguing twists and I can’t get enough of it….when is the next book coming out?

I got this book from net gallery for an honest review.

Wow this is the second book I've read from Donna Grant and I wasn't disappointed. She's delivered an action packed, intense, yet passionate book which ultimately focuses on forbidden love. In this book a reaper called Tanlin is in love with Nev, a light Fae. However, rules state that reapers can't reveal their identity or death will come. Tanlin and Nev share passionate yet intense moments but Nev knows Tanlin is hiding things.

This book gives you lots of information about reapers to satisfy all those curiosities left after reading the last book (Smoke and Fire). I was on edge the whole time and at one point in the book I had a lump in my throat. The author has done an amazing job and I love her style of writing. Their forbidden love is an emotionally challenging journey: and the book is written so well that you feel and connect to to their emotional turmoil.

Brilliant book, with a great narrative and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

2.5 stars and they are all for Rhi.
In Dark Alpha's Demand The Reapers are reduced to simpleton, imop. Their plan and reason are simple mind and weak and just unbelievable naive and just ughhhh.....I just don't understand !
They supposed to be badass with super power and skills but all they did in the book are veil and transform their look (oh and disrobe...handy). In the first book all of them sound mysteriously sexy and dark and kick-ass but now my dream of swooning is kind of shattered. The plot is simple as usual but with so many weak spots I rolled my eyes too many time. There's no Cael and Erith storyline which is my another disappointment :p
The only good thing in this book is Rhi she's definitely kick-ass. I know she will play a really important role (may be replace Death?) in the future and I hope it's soon because her story with Daire sounds as tempting as Cael & Erinth.
