Great Book for Beginners

This book was easy to understand and didn't use jargon that the experts use. I loved the examples of pictures and how the author did each one. My reason for giving a 4 rating is because of the use of Lightroom/Adobe Photoshop. There are other photo editing softwares out there just like there are cameras. Instead of focusing on Lightroom, the author should touch on others as well since most have a the same or close to the same features as Lightroom. But I will say it's one of the best books I've read on photography.

To the point and focused

I wanted a quick primer on how to make sense of camera and lens settings (ISO? Aperture?), how they effect each other, and how to leverage them. This book definitely delivered, in a concise and easy to follow way.

Just fair

I was kind of lost reading this book. There are a lot of DSLR beginner books out there that are much better.

One of the better Intro to Photography books...

Practical. Applicable. Easy to Read and Immediately Use! I would recommend this for the beginner who actually wants to begin.

Reasonable overview but increasingly less relevant in light of changing technology.
