This is the second book from The Regiville Tales, a series of full-length novels by Desirae Grove. Each book in this series can be read as a stand-alone, with its own HEA and no cliffhangers!
Elysa Jordan is a feisty and adventurous college student. She’s curvy and never shy about it, and no man has ever been able to resist her charms. Except for one: Kynan Gattesky. He insists they can't be together, yet he seems crazy about her.
Their on and off romance has been driving her nuts, and even Elysa is no longer sure if Kye is the right man for her. She sets out to seduce him one last time, but what happens on that fateful night unravels a whole sequence of events entirely out of her control...and puts her life in grave danger.
Kynan Gattesky has never thought he would fall for a human woman. His family has warned him - werepanthers and other creatures do not mix well. But Elysa is not someone he can get out of his mind easily. Every time he's around her, his common sense flies out the window. And when her life is jeopardized by a series of unfortunate poor decisions, he must rescue her, at all costs.
Will Kye and Elysa manage to get away from the dangers of Regiville paranormal world? And will their growing love survive it all?
I received an free ARC copy of this book from the author, in exchange for review.
I recommend this book for mature readers!
Desirae Grove brings the second book in the Regiville Tales together with such beautiful writing, that keeps you up all night, because you have to drink every last drop of the book up. This story has Romance, and a huge kick of paranormal action. Genies, Were-beasts, fairies, and oh so much more that will have you thirsting for just one more drop of this tasty story. Free up your time, because you will gobble this one up in one night.
I really liked how this book was pulled together with passion that was so undeniably perfect that you would find yourself wanting something just like what Kaynan, and Elysa had. Their love was so pure for one another. Don't worry I won't spoil for you, but I will tell you that this romance is a must read.
I loved just how much action this book had as well. There was literally never a dull moment. Not only was this book action packed, but it was different from any paranormal I have ever read, and made absolute sense the whole way through; there was never a moment of confusion, which just makes this book that much better.
I read this book, and I couldn't get enough. I thirsted for more page after page. When I got to the end of this story I was so satisfied with what I had read. No cliffhanger, and totally enchanting.

My Review:
I've been reading a lot of these 'I love you, we can't be together, I can't stand it let's have sex' stories lately. That's Kynan in a nutshell.
Kye and Elysa are drawn to one another but they keep coming up with excuses or reasons why they can't be together only to continue to be together because of their reasons why they can't be together.
Its kind of confusing especially with all the outside variants trying to pull them apart. I don't get how the few things that are tossed in have any point to the story but Desirae adds a lot of detail to her story so I was surprised how simply and quickly the end came.
I did enjoy the read overall so I thought it was a good romance to explore.
This isn't quite as stand-alone as it sounds. There is a good chunk of plot from book one that you would find very helpful to read first, since a character makes a surprising reappearance that just won't have the same impact if you hadn't read the first book. In fact, in might just confuse you a little since some information isn't carried over into book two.
That being said, it was a pretty good story. The strain between Elysa and Kynan begins in book one, and it's only grown in the time before bofore book two. Elysa is all ready for a deep and meaningful relationship with the panther-shifter, but he's set against it - even though he really wants to. She's not a panther, and that's all that matters in his mind, but not his heart. Instead of seeming overdone, it comes off as a true conflict. He's terrified of hurting her physically and thinks he's just protecting her.
But when two wishes go terribly wrong, they find themselves rushing to find a way to reverse them and avoid their deadly consequences. So far, so good. I loved this concept that has a basis in genie lore and it was a great way to throw the two of them together in a quest to save the day.
But, there's a wizard in the background that I just didn't seem to like. His part of the story seemed to be only to cause more problems than they couple already had (and they had plenty). It drew the story out in a way that seemed to distract from the task and romance at hand. I'm still loving the series though. The world Grove has built for her characters is rich and lively with room for plenty of interesting things to happen.
I received this story in exchange for an honest review. This is the follow-up to Theo and is based around Kynan “Kye” the werepanther and Elysa “Lys” the best friend of the female lead in Theo. What can I say other than, “Be careful what you wish for.”? After all the ups and downs of their short tumultuous relationship, Lys gets tired of their dynamic and in an emotional huff makes 2 wishes to a mutual friend of theirs who just happens to be a genie. In this story, you meet a new antagonist along with the old one—Agatha and you get to see a little bit more into the band of ragtag supernaturals from Theo. I loved the way that this story played out. If you’ve ever been in a relationship that had you all stressed and frustrated because you felt undervalued or because you thought your partner was weak, this story could make you see things in a whole new light. I look very forward to the next story in the lot. I’m kind of hoping that it might be for the old misogynist warlock Frazier. I was hoping that Slither was really going to redeem himself, but somehow, I don’t think that he’s done with them since his plans didn’t come to fruition quite the way hoped they would. I loved the epilogue!
Here kitty, kitty, kitty! Kynan was raised to stay away from humans and definitely never fall for one. He is a panther and they are solitary animals who only get together to...well, ya know. Elysa wants Kye so bad that she can't even stand it. Maybe she could make him jealous or lure him back with her feminine whiles. When she is beyond frustrated with him, she does something insanely serious and her life is put in danger. I'm so glad that we got to go back to Regiville to see what happens between Elysa and Kye! I thought for sure they were doomed at the end of the last book but was happy to see that wasn't the case. Kye is a good, bad boy. I love how he is determined to be one way because of what he is, but doesn't really feel that way. Elysa is going to get her man, even if it kills her. Sometimes I guess it really does take something drastic to get two people together. 4/5 for me, I was so happy to see this book. It didn't disappoint. Thank you to the author/publisher for the review copy of this book. I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.
I genuinely liked Theo so Kynan turned out to be a bit of disappointment. While the plot and world were interesting, the characters just weren’t up to snuff.
Elysa was one of the more obnoxious female protagonists I have read. I liked that she had flaws and felt human, but I didn’t like her as a person. I found her whiny and needy and bit too self-important. Kynan felt the typical self-loathing shifter who refuses to let himself love. Together, they are recipe for a migraine and teeth grinding frustrating. They aren’t the only ones. In Theo, we are introduced to a variety of characters, but they serve only to be introduced and we don’t really get a feel for them. In Kynan, we are forced to deal with their equally repellant personalities.
If you can get past the characters, you are rewarded with a rich mythological world filled with every creature you can imagine. I loved Grove’s portrayal of each and that she stuck to their original mythologies while adding a bit of her own to give it an authentic feel. The plot also wasn’t overly complicated, but I am a sucker for the old fashioned “defeat the evil witch” plot.
I also feel like all of Grove’s stories start the same: there is a lot of telling instead of showing and we are treated to long descriptions about things we don’t care about. I didn’t her to describe every single character in detail to me to enjoy the rest of the story. Once the action gets started, however, the story really gets moving.
Overall, Kynan can be a frustrating read. I had to walk away a couple times. The characters are barely bearable, and the plot is far from complex. The beginning can be a bit of work to actually get through, but once the plot comes into play, it’s an interesting read. The best part is the mythology and magic.
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.
In this book we meet Kynan and Elysa. Kynan and Elysa use to date but Elysa feels like because she is human that she is to weak to be with him. She knows she loves him but if he can't see her as something more than a person to protect they can't be together. So after coming to the camp-out with a guy friend of hers to make Kynan jealous, well this works for a moment then they get into another fight. That night she is awakened by what she thinks is Kynan calling to her. However it is Agatha that you met as the villain in the first book is back to torture another couple. Elysa ends up compounding her problems when she makes 2 wishes with a genie. The problem with making wishes with a genie is they twist your wishes into something bad.
Kynan has more feelings for Elysa than he is willing to admit. The problem is he was raised by a single mother who always warned him away from humans. Telling him they aren't strong enough to stay with their kind as well as the woman would not be strong enough to carry their young. However little did he know that by pushing Elysa away for her own good (in his mind) would have her making some possible life altering choices. When he finds out about the wishes he is determined to do anything to set her free before the possible curses kill her. The thing he finds out is sometimes what you might believe to be true might not really be.
This was actually a really good book it can be read as a stand alone but would recommend that you read the first book so many of the references make sense. This is a great book to show us that love really can make a difference if you let it. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.
I wasn’t super-wowed by the first book in this series (Theo), but I’m glad I stuck with it because Kynan was so much better. This book focuses on two characters we were introduced to in the first book – Elysa and Kynan. Elysa is a carefree college student who fell for Kynan – a werepanther. They drive each other crazy and often break up trying to reconcile the differences between humans and paranormals. But dangers old and new threaten to destroy their fledgling relationship, along with end their lives.
In my opinion, the writing got a lot better in this book. In the first book, it seemed like a lot of confusing explanations were made. This time, it seemed better in providing just enough good details to be clear about what was going on. There was plenty of action right from the start, and the supporting cast of paranormal friends added humor to the story. The relationship between Elysa and Kynan was at times rocky – and hot, but understandable considering their differences. The main negative for me was reading how intelligent Elysa sounded in her thoughts; but when she spoke, she seemed kind of shallow. At the end, we do see her personal growth, as well as Kynan’s. The end of the story seems a little rushed, but okay considering the events being described. It also appears that the author has introduced us to possibly the main character of the next book. We shall see… I would definitely recommend this book to paranormal romance fans. Although the book’s description states this could be a standalone, I would still recommend readers read (and bear through) the first one.

4.0 out of 5 stars One last wish before she dies, that is Kyes happiness, no matter what happens to her, nothing must stop Kyes happiness, February 18, 2016 By Sandy Brazzel Edit Review Delete Review This review is from: Kynan (The Regiville Tales, Book Two) (Kindle Edition) Not you average Shifter book maybe more cross with fantasy. It is very well written if a little busy with every paranormal creature. Elysa is human, however she is the only one. Book one Theo covered his and Yvette's story, and how Elysa came to know so many paranormals. Witches, Warlock, Wizards, Goblin, Fairy, and elemental spirits, Vila, and wind nymphs, genie and her pet troll, last but not least a werebeast/panther in Kynan. Elysa, known as Lys and Kynan known as Kye are on again off again bringing to the camping trip that starts there journey. We have a zombie witch that once took Kye captive(book1) back and stirring trouble and a heartsoar Elysa making Two wishes from a genie, and wishes from a genie almost always end in a death curse. Now they must raise against the clock to save Lys from the wishes curse, overcome a zombie witch and a warlock mad for wanting more power from said zombie witch, the only cure for Lys is the same artifact that the warlock must have to finish his plot. As I said boarders on fantasy, action packed, but with an original story line. I received this for a free review.
This is the second book in the Regiville Tales series and this book for me was better thank book 1 Theo. It might be because I am more into weres than vampires. I enjoyed book 1 but I could not put down this book at all. You do know need to have read book 1 to get this book BUT there are some things you will understand better if you have read Theo.
In this book we get to know better the paranorms and of course the one human Elysa or Lys. Before she knew about weres, witches and all kinds of others she dated werepanther Kynan. In fact he almost killed her in book 1 but only because he was enchanted to do so. Kye was raised to believe that all panthers are solo creatures and they mate and go about they lives. Paranorms and humans never mix. So when he and Lys have such a strong connection he fights it took and claw. Of course we know there is so much more going on to this tail...tale. When you have a genie as a friend and a hot headed human like Lys, who is still in love (lust) with her sexy were but he is fighting it off. Things get out of hand fast.
Then we have the hag Agatha who just may or may not have been killed by Theo in book 1. This book is really good. Lots of mystery and of course there is some heat in there as well. So ready for more from Regiville! I received this book for a honest review.
I received this for a honest review. Desirae Grove has done a wonderful job. Though this is the second book in the series I do not think you will have any problems following the story if you have not read book one.
Elysa Jordan was a beautiful human woman. The one flaw I saw in her is she trusted to much. She was one that tried to see the good in people. She loved Kye with her whole heart. Things between Kye and Elysa were pretty rocky. She was having a hard time winning him over.
Kye Gattesky was a werepanther. He was handsome and had it bad for Elysa. He had been told that he should stay single and stay way from the human race. Kye was having problems with strong feelings he was having for Elysa. He feared of one day of hurting her. He felt because she was human that she was not strong enough to handle a werepanther.
It is not long before Elysa finds herself in danger. The things they go through is such an eye wakening that it causes them both to reflect on what they really want. Kye is on the verse of loosing Elysa forever. This is almost more then he can handle.
Will Kye and Elysa have the strength to stand everything they are getting ready to face. I loved book one but I think book 2 really stoled my heart.
This a paranormal book . Book 2 in the series . Our Hero is Kynan .our Heroine is Elysa. Kynan is a werecat . Elysa is a human . Kynan just broke up with Elysa . Elysa has feelings for Kynan since book 1 (if you didn't get it you should. Kynan was told that it is dangerous for Werecats to get tangled up with humans . So Elysa decides to show him . She goes into a store and decides to buy a red teddy . She also decides to bring a date to the camp trip . Kynan is there and takes one look at her with the date and storms away . Now Elysa feels low . Kynan feels something and sees something in the forest but he dosnt know what . He goes to check it out . Kynan hears a voice that he can't believe. He tries to go back to the camp where Elysa is to protect her . Meanwhile Elysa is steaming mad at Kynan and does 2 wishes . There is a catch when you make wishes in front of the fai . After the third with your live is over . Since Elysa has made two ...... Kynan and Elysa are trying to find a way to reverse the two wishes . And a nasty witch shows up from the past . Grab it a few Suprises for Kynan and Elysa and a great one at the end . Shows you a hint of book 3 . Grab it
I received this book as a review copy for free, in return for an honest review. If you have read the previous book then you have already met Kynan and Elysa. Kynan is a werepanther whose first encounter with Elysa was at a party, where he was, in his enchantment, attempting to abduct her and take her to her death. Free from the enchantment they had begun a relationship, but her weak human frailty makes him treat her like glass, causing problems between them. Elysa does tend to get herself into trouble and when she is rejected by Kynan once more, after a fiery night in the forest, she decides to take control of her fate, or to be more precise, she allows the Djinn to take her of her wishes. This is a sweet, romantic book with a heavily paranormal setting. A little romance, a little steamy, and plenty of danger. I like the light and easy humour and the likeability of the characters. It isn’t full of deep and meaningful prose, and it doesn’t convey a message or delve heavily into the backstory. This is a book you can pick up and know that firstly, it will end happily, and secondly, it will make you smile.
She was used to being in control. When she wanted a guy, she got him. It is not working that way with Kynan. Elysa will face a great deal in order to be with the man she loves.
Kynan is a shifter and has been raised to believe that he should never mate with a human. He loves Elysa but doesn't think they should continue without a future. It is too painful. Elysa wants to prove she is strong and not weak. In that desire, she makes some bad choices.
These two are combustible. They have great chemistry but the day to day interactions are not so hot. Elysa is young and not that mature. She has not had to fight for something like she has Kynan. She really grows up as the story unfolds and she learns what is really important. Kynan is in a difficult position. His heart and body wants her, but his mind tells him not to keep coming back. He faced his own tragedy recently and is still dealing with those consequences.
I really enjoyed the story and the characters. It is a pretty quick read and well-paced. I had read the first book which I think helped me understand the dynamics. I would recommend reading it first.
Another amazing read by Desirae Grove . I was given this book in exchange for an honest review and man oh man it's good....the first one was center of Theo and his love eve who also happens to the best friend to Elysa. Kynan is a werecat who was once possessed by a witch to do her bidding but met Elysa who is a human and even with the crazy is able to have real feelings for her. Elysa also has strong feelings for Kynan, she doesn't care what he is or did she just wants him...but for crazy reason he pushes her away, and breaks up with her. To teach him a lesson she brings another guy to make him jealous and it's does...e walks away and she is left in the presence of a fai and they love to grant wishes but on the third your life if forfeited. Kynan suddenly stop because he feels something crazy and rushes back to make sure she is safe but she isn't. Since Elysa has made two they have to find a way to undo them. Will they've able to succeed? Also the crazy witch is back from book 1..what. Is to happen now? Is there still a future for them?
The second story in the regiville series, this one focuses on Elysa and Kye who if you've read the first is the were panther that agatha had control over and tried to use to kill Eve and Theo, while Elysa is Eve's best friend.
First off while I enjoyed the first book I enjoyed this one quite a bit more. The pace is a little faster the romance a bit hotter and really I just liked the premise. Elysa and Kye are always the very passionate on and off again couple, but when in a fit of anger Elysa asks the Djinn Isadora to grant her 2 of her 3 wishes everything starts to go wrong. Kye is now on an impossible mission to save Elysa from the inevitable curse and usually death that come with wishes. As the two of them try to find a cure for Elisa's deteriorating health it leads them into danger from a past evil and a friend that is not so friendly. A great story I had a lot of fun getting to know these two a little better.
A second look at the town of Regiville and its paranormal inhabitants takes us on an interesting journey. Lys, Eve's roommate has become friends with all sorts of Para normals since the bonding of Eve and Theo. However, her love life with Kye is all sorts of messed up. In her quest to get her man, she makes some stupid decisions that may costs her Kye and her life. This storyline was filled up more with the different para normals that have crossed Lys's path. As a character, Lys is pretty superficial and about getting what she wants at any cost. Kye is a shifter who was raised to stay away from human relationships because they are fragile, his thinking and actions push Lys to do stupid things to change his mind. Genies, wizards, warlocks, fairies and a threat from the past make for some interesting challenges as the couple navigate their rocky relationship. Add some twists and turns to make things interesting and you get a very entertaining story. I was given an ARC for an honest review.
Received this complimentary arc copy from the author for an honest review Oh Kynan and Elysa... You do have to fight for your love. This second story in this series I feel is much darker, deeper but still hauntingly beautiful. Kynan fights against his love for Elysa , but why. They could have saved themselves so much heartache and despair but hey, sometimes who said love was easy. Agatha came back with a vengeance , and oh boy is she disgustingly horrible in every way imaginable. Sounds like the walking dead and that freaked me out but I still had to read this to find out what happens next. A brilliantly written story that is so gripping I wanted to help Kynan and Elysa win against Agatha . Oh well true love lives to fight another day. Loved it. Well done again Desirae
I thoroughly enjoy Desirae Grove' s books, and they are always engaging stories with likeable characters. I really like that she includes other types of paranormal creatures - not just the same ones which have been done to death now.
This story is no different and I can heartily recommend this series to anyone. I did prefer the first book, but that is purely personal as I wasn't terribly keen on Kye as a character - he's a bit caveman for me - but it's still a fantastic read and this is a series worth keeping up with.
I did receive a copy of the book free of charge in exchange for an honest review, but all the opinions expressed are my own.
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review
this is the second book in a series. it would be best for you to read the first to better understand the paranormal community. I enjoyed this book much more than the first this book had my emotions all over the place. I wanted to jump in and slap the both of them Kye is a werepanther and was raised to believe that panthers are solo creatures and that they don't mix with humans Elysa in all her annoyed glory makes two wishes from a genie and now her and Kye must find a way to reverse them. and... is Agatha really dead or did she survive???
We met Kye and Lys in "Theo-Book 1". This book is their story. It is steamier than the first book but the supporting characters are even kookier with a menagerie of paranormals that are out of control with their own agendas. We find Kye trying his best to stick to the concepts ingrained into him since childhood and Lys trying to break down the barriers he keeps putting up. Of course, hasty Lys gets herself trapped up in a genie's magical web. To make matters worse, Agatha's back and she's cooking up a cauldron full of evil. In the end, though, everything works out and there is a very nice little surprise is store for you too.
An ARC was given to me for an honest review. Elysa is in an on again off again relationship with Kynan, a werepanther. They are interested in each other but his mother told him not to get involved with a human woman. Since she wants to force him to acknowledge their relationship, she made a stupid error in makes two wishes with her genie friend that may possibly kill her. Hopefully she and Kynan can find a way to reverse them before they take effect. This is a fun entertaining read. Enjoy I did.
Kynan's story continues the Regiville Tales. We met Kynan in the first book "Theo" where he was used as a pawn by the evil witch Agatha. Now he is back to normal, but normal for Kynan is very serious and trying to follow the strict rule of his mother's to not consort with humans. Of course, Elysa, a human has already fallen for Kynan. Throw into the mix Elysa's menagerie of paranormal friends and the fact that Agatha isn't exactly dead and chaos ensues. This mythological world draws you in and makes you an inhabitant.
I love the mix of paranormals we get to meet in this series, trolls, Wizards, witches, nymphs, sprites among others. Book one was the vampire Theo and here in book two we have the oh so hot and brooding werepanther Kynan. KYNAN knows what Elysa means to him but is stubbornly denying it till events put our sassy human in danger and fighting for her life ! But will his determination to save her be enough ? This story moves along at a steady pace with enough twists and heat to keep you interested from beginning to end. Definitely a series worth reading.
Received the ARC for an honest review. Even though I haven't read the first book the in the series, this book can be read as a stand alone. Kynan is a werepanther shifter who was raised to avoid humans and certainly never fall in love with one. Elysa Jordan is a human who is deeply in love with Kynan, but he keeps pushing her away. This frustrates her to no end that she does something stupid that has put her life in jeopardy. Kynan loves Elysa so much that he'll do anything to keep her safe. Great story with likeable and loveable. This is a PNR lovers dream.
First off I have to say I really liked the cover. It's a good book. The chemistry between the characters was hot and steamy. The story well written and had a good pace to it. I liked the Fae and the wishes twist. It makes the story fresh and different from most other shifter stories. I would recommend this book and author to anyone that likes the paranormal elements.
I loved this book just a little more than book 1 although I loved that one as well. Kynan is a shifter who is in and out of Elysa's life,I really wanted to reach in and cuff him around the head for the way he was acting till I read further and found him to be under a powerful spell, the couple really do battle for their lives literally!! I liked the way Kye's mum came around when she was told about a new addition I do like a happy ending. Given in exchange for honest review.
I received and ARC in exchange for an honest review. This is the second boon in the series and we are reunited with Kynan, a werepanther and Elysia, a human. They have dated and broke up but Lys still has feeling for Kye. Can she get her man, er cat and can he keep her safe? You will have to read to find out. Loved this book and want more from this author, hopefully soon
This is the second book of the Rigeville Tales and is Kynan and Elysas story.
This was a sweet romantic read withe a good storyline. Loved Kynan, the stealthy Werepanther and how the story played out with plenty of suspense, humor and fun diverse paranormal characters. Loved the unexpected ending and am looking forward to the next book.
Very nice book...a little too long and parts were a little slow, but during some parts? WOW... There was a lot of information that needed to be made, but for me, the book seemed to take a little longer than was necessary. It didn't seem to flow as well as some of her other books. Good book, will look for more in the future...
