A wine country native, I moved to San Francisco for college just shy of a decade ago to pursue a lifelong interest in film. As I settled into the vibrant city, it quickly became apparent that, while I thought making and editing films was great fun, I lacked cinematic genius. For that reason, my career path quickly changed direction. My next goal was a strange childhood interest, conjured at the dining room table while filling out a form. For some reason, my young self wanted to be an Accountant. Thinking on it now, I wonder how I had any friends. Regardless, it was the direction I finally took.
While I could wrangle numbers with the best of 'em, and even though I wore the crown as the most outspoken, belligerent accountant in the world, my mind got as stuffy as my daily routine. It was here that I dusted off my creative hat and began writing.
This was a but of a let down, Olivia was just a little too insecure and need and Hunter really needed to work harder to put his past behind him. His doubts about paternity irritated me endlessly.
They do get their hea however and over all I enjoyed this series
It's ironic to me that I found this book in the erotica section on Amazon Because in each book I've skipped the sex.....the scenes were bad! Lol that's coming from someone who won't read a "clean" romance. I expected a bit more
This was terrible. It was so predictable and everything was resolved too easily. Ex fiancé is quickly out of the picture then the same with his dad. I'm sorry but her going under cover to make his dad sign paperwork was overly dramatic. I'm always happy for happy endings but everything fell too perfectly in place for me.
I gave the rest of the series 4 stars, but this one just doesn't work for me.
This was a really disappointing finale filled with unnecessary surface-level drama and not much depth. If he really doesn't trust her, they shouldn't have made any of the decisions that they did in this story. I don't understand how she's not offended by his whiny attitude and behaviors.
I am also not a big fan of people bringing past relationship drama into their new relationship and expecting to treat the new person like crap because of those issues (especially 4 books into a series---come on, now). It's stupid and unfair. And quite frankly, it was hard to even swallow it down as being a real issue, considering how crazy about her he supposedly is. In one second, he acts like she hung the moon, and in the next, he acts like it would be possible for her to have done the worst thing ever to him. Make up your damned mind. You can't have it both ways, and it made me lose respect for her since she wouldn't just confront him on his crap and address it. It just drug on ad nauseam.
Honestly, I think this series should have been a trilogy, and that's part of the problem. There was no real drama left to address, so this book just makes up unnecessary drama, which I found annoying and disappointing. It was a relief when it finally ended.
I decided to wait until I finished the series to review these books. This was a great bunch of books and an awesome story. I'm not a fan of 50 Shades and those types of books and I'm happy to say this did not seem like those books at all. Yes, She's fresh out of college and broke, yes He's the millionaire boss who's attractived to her and wants to get with her. But that's where things go differently. The "dark secret" that he has does not make him into a Dom and she is not a Sub. She doesn't fall into bed with him although she's super attracted to him. He respects her morals and doesn't push her. When they got together you like them as a couple. They worked through they're obstacles and kept it moving. I liked them! This was a great story and I recommend it to anyone that likes the rich boss /assistant books. Just keep in mind these are a little different...in a good way.
OK conclusion to the series. I was glad that things were tidied up for them. This series really followed closely to the FSOG series so there weren't any true surprises. I still enjoyed it though for what it was..a guilty pleasure read when I wasn't in the mood for something more challenging.
This was a sweet ending to the series. Hunter Carlisle’s growth from the first book was astronomical! I really enjoyed this series, and it was a perfect quick palate cleanser from my normal reads! Thanks for the laughs and words KFB!
This series is a perfect example of how choosing the wrong POV and not knowing where to end it can ruin the whole thing. From the beginning, I wasn't a huge fan of the fact that we never got to see inside Hunter's head. IMO, books where romance is the main plot tend to flop if the reader is only getting one side of the story. Plus, they immediately give me bad flashbacks to Twilight. I love books where the hero is an alpha male almost to the point of being a complete douchebag. If I'm able to get into his head, the I'm able to see his redeeming qualities even if they have yet to be revealed to the heroine.
The sad thing is this book did reach a point where I was able to get past the poor POV choice and love Hunter anyway. However, the 4th book ruined it for me. In many ways Hunter undid all the progress he made in the first three books and retreated to a secretive asshole who thought all information was "need to know" and he had decided Olivia didn't. By the time all was revealed I had stopped caring about his motives and intent and I was just pissed at him for leaving his pregnant girlfriend(because he couldn't be bothered to make her his fiance because once again he put work before their relationship) alone for months.
And I wanted to grab Olivia and shake her. Sure pregnancy changes you in some ways, but why the hell did it turn her into a fucking doormat? No matter how many lines Hunter crossed, he could do no wrong because he "meant well". She should him to GTFO the second time he felt the need to ask her if the baby was his. I don't care what happened in his past, if he couldn't handle it without being an asshole then he needed therapy. Which of course was mentioned in passing and Olivia said something stupid about it not being right for a "guy like him" or some such crap. You know who therapy isn't right for? Psychopaths and malignant narcissists - that's it. If you can't find a therapist that works for you, you're either not trying hard enough or you're not fixable. Period.
Bad books usually make me sad, not angry, but by the end of the fourth book I was just furious. If I had a physical copy, I'd burn it.
3.5 stars. First off I want to state that I really do like this series overall. However, I feel like this last book was a tad rushed (really only a little though) and that some of the character development that I would like to have seen didn't really actually happen. It was a case of "hey, he's got this serious issue! oh, hey now he doesn't!"... and unfortunately, that is the type of thing that really bugs me. It's one of the major reasons I still don't like the Fifty Shades series as much as most people. I guess it's just one of my hang-ups and I have to say that it most definitely didn't make me dislike this book, even if it did bug me a little. This book was overall a good read and I felt like it covered all the important points that needed to be covered and generally ended well. I'm a sucker for happily ever afters :)
It has been over a year since I read the first three books in this series, but I remember those books being more enjoyable than this. I actually kind of hated the "happily ever after" theme of this book because that's not what I was expecting when I started the series. I was also super annoyed by Hunter's weird behavior. And what the heck was that stuff with Olivia's mom at the end? Just weird.
Overall I enjoyed this series, but I would probably only read the first two books if I ever do a re-read.
Could not have asked for a better ending for this series! I love these characters so much, and am sad that this is the end for them. With all they went through in this series this is a great ending. Such a great storyline and as always amazing characters. Just couldn't ask for more!
YES. Everything I wanted to finish this series off is in here. We have Olivia set to have Hunter's baby, we have Hunter totally on board and excited about it, Olivia's game is doing very well, and Hunter is making secret plans to lighten his workload to have more time with Olivia and baby.
All of that is awesome, but Olivia wants to be Mrs. Carlisle. Hunter treats her as such and she's certain he won't leave but having that final commitment is important to her, she doesn't want people to think she trapped him with a baby. I'm going to spoil it and tell you that when he does plan it out? SWOON, ladies. My heart melted a little bit because Matt literally handed me a ring in the bedroom of our apartment and said, "So, do you want to get married?". THAT'S IT. He's not super great in the romance department, that's for sure. So I loved it.
You know I always try to give the good and the bad with every review and for this one... I'm going to just say it: the resolution with Hunter's dad is TERRIBLE. Really? She goes against Hunter, goes "under cover" in the most bizarre stunt and Hunter is totally OK with it? Are you serious, right now? No. None of that happens that way given how their characters were set up in the previous three books. That plot string felt too contrived and easy to resolve and I really felt annoyed. My other complaint? I really kind of wanted to hear about Olivia going into labor, Hunter's reaction when baby is born, etc. We get a snapshot of a year later but even that felt.. odd. It's great all of the plot strings dangled in front of us all of that time are resolved and nothing leaves us hanging, but ugh... I really hoped for that. Oh well!
Overall? I'll give this a solid 4 stars. The series was pretty good and if you're in the mood for quick reads, this isn't a bad one.
Book 4 (and final) of the Please Series. It saddened me to reach the end of Hunter and Livvy’s story. The tumultuous ups and downs of their relationship with each other, the lengths each will go to to ensure the other’s happiness and safety.
This book ties up all the loose ends, answering all the questions a reader may have. I absolutely loved both main characters, but I loved the supporting characters just as much. Bert, Bruce and Brenda all play an integral role in the, at times, tense relationship between Hunter and Livvy.
Livvy doesn’t lose her sass, and Hunter begins to open up. He is also obsessively over protective and needs constant reassurance as far as the pregnancy is concerned, which I didn’t associate with the intense character of Hunter. We understand why he may feel that way, but it’s a little unreasonable to think he would need such constant reassurance.
I have read some reviews (after I finished reading the book so as not to be biased in my opinion) and there are comments from some who love Hunter’s “dominance”. I’m afraid I don’t hold the same opinion. He may have strength in his business dealings, but his constant insecurities about being the baby daddy out-shadow that strength in my opinion.
All in all, it was a wonderful series. I do, however, have a small gripe about the cost. Book one was free, which was a great way to suck a reader in, but the following 3 books are a bit hefty in price for the page count – again, this is my opinion. The series was good enough for me to fork out my cash to finish reading the entire series.
Willows done it again. This entire series is one to guarantee a happily ever after. It chocked full of delightful twists and turns and every emotion under sun. The romance is both sweet and steamy. The chemistry is contagious and no doubt will raise a readers temperature. This one is true to Willows writing style, there’s something in this series for everyone. I laughed, I shed some tears and through it all I was cheering for Olivia and Hunters truly fated , destined love affair. Perseverance, patience and forgiveness equates to a bond that lasts the tests of time. Wounds heal and darkness clears for the shining of the sun. What a wonderful story. I highly recommend this series.
This 4th and final book in the Please series was a great finish. While the H had his issues, with the h he was the boyfriend every girl wants...and not just because of his money! Love that although the H and h had their issues, disagreements, etc. the author didn't drag them out like some do. There are no breakups for days and pages and pages of how miserable they are. Instead it's more insecurity or act weird, confrontation, discussion, resolution. It's the way real relationships should go. Really enjoyed the series and will definitely be reading more from Willow Summers
Where Forever, Please didn't have the steaminess of the earlier books and the drama was significantly less, it was written the way an ending to a series should end. Everything was tied up and you didn't have any questions of what happened next. I was pleased with the ending and felt content with the life that Hunter and Olivia ended with.
The series showed how the relationship evolved and how the past effects the future but in the end a great partnership can get you a HEA.
I cannot say enough great things about this series! Everything was perfect from the first word of book 1 all the way to the end of book 4. I had to start the next book as soon as I finished the one before. The ending was absolutely perfect and mad my heart sad knowing that it was over. I will definitely be returning to this series many times in the future.
Just like the story, the narration was pure perfection. Kirsten quickly became a favorite narrator for me and I am eagerly scrolling through her other works to see what I can read next!
I just finished this series and laughed and giggled the entire way through. Lots of hotness going on, decent story line to keep you going from book to book but honestly, the dialog of her main characters Olivia, Brenda and Hunter was just what this sarcastic soul craves. I've added her to my growing list of "following" authors and have already taken a peek at another of her books that's already got me cracking up. Bonus...I wasn't stumbling over messed up editing. Score!
Tantalising and all-round lovely read. I did have some doubts when I read the first book and found it so short. I continued reading it and was definitely not let down. Their chemistry was just perfect and Hunter overcame quite a few of his insecurities from his past that we were introduced to in the first book. I could actually see Hunter opening up to Olivia and starting to accommodate her in their relationship instead of being so focused on his own self. I really enjoyed their journey as individuals and as a couple.
This series was super cute. I loved this. There was a lot of steam, which I love normally, but I did skip through some of it because it was just a tad excessive. I really enjoyed the characters. They were perfect. The heroine was adorable, a little insecure, independent, smart, not overly emotional, honest.....the hero was brooding, sexy, rich, thoughtful, messy past....they went well together. I didn’t feel an extremely deep connection with them, but I still liked them a lot.
I absolutely loved this book. I loved the way through all the Please series, how Hunter and Olivia interacted with each other as well as the people around that were always trying to come in between them. I wish there were more of the series to read, They were that good. I couldnt put them down. Had to keep going through all four books. I can't wait to read your other books, I'm their just as good as these.
Although I liked this series quite a bit, I will not buy anything else by this author. This fourth book was NOT a book! It was a great ending but I'm pretty angry that I paid almost $4 for an epilogue. Not cool. This fourth book was maybe 4 pages. Very deceiving. Ridiculous.
Will he stay or will be freak and go? This guy has PTSD and serious "Daddy" issues. (Don't we all?) But he is downright creepy about it. At any moment you just know he's going to bolt and leave this poor girl preggo and broke. She has a Mommy that is slightly less than brick shy of a full load. Kept waiting for it to all unravel.
This series of four books chronicling how Livy met Hunter, fell in lust and love and overcame the obstacles placed in their path to happiness was addictive. I couldn't put the books down. The characters were well developed and complex. The storyline definitely held my interest through all four books. I highly recommend this series.
Forever, Please (Please, Book Four) (Please Series 4)
The final book of Olivia and Hunter. Olivia is having Hunter's baby. Will they be getting marry or will his doubt ruined everything? This is a four book series which could be a one book. Great story.
I really enjoyed reading this book! I really love happy endings and Olivia surely got hers. If you haven't read this series, I think you should! Everyone who reads this book will enjoy it! I strongly recommend this book to others to read.
Audiobook version: I thought this was a fabulous series. There was great characters, great writing, great plot and fantastic narration. I would have loved to have more meddling from Blair through the series as she made a great villain but it was awesome. Great Series!
