Delicious smoothies from the authors behind the award-winning and hugely popular blog Green Kitchen Stories
Bestselling authors David and Luise now share their top smoothie recipes, as well as some new and exciting ideas. The book is divided into simple smoothies, post-workout favorites, breakfast ideas, energizers, desserts, and more. This is no run-of-the mill smoothie book. For anyone reluctant to switch to a purely liquid breakfast, there are snacks to go along with them. And for any Nutribullet™ experts who are looking for some new ideas, this is the perfect book.
Okay, so I tried the “Kids Greenie” billed as a way for kids (and adults) to sneak in more veggies and it tastes pretty good! I altered the recipe to include more green stuff I had on hand:
Juice from 3 oranges Banana, frozen 1/3 cup frozen peas Several frozen broccoli florets Grated ginger Handful of spinach 1 mini cucumber
I made it again and swapped out the orange juice with some chunks of cut up pineapple and 1/2 cup of cashew milk. Both versions were good!
I’ve marked a few other recipes to try in the future too. :-)
I’m impressed with explanations of befits of various ingredients and how they work together. The basic primer on creating a smoothie is clear and helpful.
Browsed from DPL. Bought a copy. We got a Vitamix recently to replace our 2nd Cuisinart smoothie maker. It is getting good use, especially now that the weather's warmer.
