In Dark Little Lies Lora Leigh brings readers into a world full of betrayal, lies, and sex. Telling the story of Grace Maddox and the man she's wanted for far too many years this book captivates you from the first page. Zack kept his distance from the tempting young woman, but when he hears she's been injured and her life is in danger he decides no more. no more hiding his feeling for Grace, and no more excuses for why he can't be with her. Now he just has to convince Grace that his feelings are true.



Ms. Leigh kept this book intriguing throughout the whole story, and there was never one page where I was bored or tempted to put my Kindle down. It's the reasons he's a favorite author of mine. She has this way of creating a story in such a manner that there's always something happening, and yet never too much happening. We got a heavy dose of both suspense, and sexiness and it was all written fantastically.

There were a few moments during the book that I had to stop and think about what happened in previous books so that I wasn't confused. But it was never anything super important to the story that I couldn't just ignore if I didn't remember what had happened in the past. So I would recommend reading this series together so there's no confusion. Also because the other books are just as good.

Bottom line, if you read romantic suspense this needs to be on your tbr. The tale of Grace and Zack is gripping and will have you hanging on the edge of your seat while you try to unscramble all of the puzzle pieces to figure out what's going on.

3* most confusing couple of the month STARS!

The continuation of Men of Summer series by Lora Leigh and I don't think this could be read as a standalone. In the previous, Wicked Lies Grace Maddox and Zack Richards already made appearance and now this is the time for their own story.

After the betrayal of Lucia Maddox, Grace was terrorized and hurt by unknown enemy. Considering the person as the accomplice of her mother's crime, Grace become the main witness. Zack knows what happened with the Maddox and he's starting his own investigation. Grace's safety is the main priority and he needs to protect her at all cost. Also the secrets and lies that Grace never knows.

The first thing I noticed in this story was CONFUSED AF! I mean it! That's why this is not recommended as a standalone because too many characters. The Maddox family is really hella crazy. I tried so hard to remember who is this and that. Our main heroine here was the key also the traitor's daughter and someone wants her dead. Gracie isn't typical your kick-ass heroine. Annoying? Not really. But she's really stubborn; considering the dangerous out there and almost kill her.



Zack Richards is a mystery man as a hero. It doesn't reveal much of his past but slowly unfold in the middle. It seems the Maddox connected with Zack's, Brigham family. Err... not easy to process. The main mission is simple like dead or alive. Whoever found the culprit first is the winner and Zack is racing with time before they reach Grace. The suspense managed to keep me for reading this book.

As for Zack and Grace's relationship isn't much entertaining for me. They're lusting each other for years. Their chemistry already off-chart. My irritation was for Grace, mostly. I'm considering her as WEAK. One touch from Zack, Grace turns 'wet' with no fights. Zack was really alpha and dominant male with dirty mouth (apply to all Leigh's hero) but he's also kinda jerk. They're keep running in circle like the previous couple. Bleh.

“You’re awful shy, now that you’re in my bed, Grace,” he growled, a warning in his voice. “Tell me, which one is you? The tactful, graceful little paragon of Maddox virtue, or the wicked little temptress who’s teased the hell out of me for years?”

“Then what? What did you need, hotshot? Because you sure as hell weren’t going out of your way to let me know you wanted anything more than a flirt here and there. Did you want me to beg?”
His head lifted slowly, interest and lust gleaming in his eyes. “Would you beg?” he asked, his voice lowering. “I think I’d love to hear you beg, baby.”

I feel Ms. Leigh is starting to lose her touch since a few years ago (a long hiatus). Still well-written but it felt hollow. This book ended up as a neutral kind no-hate-no love. The sex scenes were incredible as always but lose the hotness. The H/h made it looks so easy without banter. As for the end, they did really caught the 'culprit' and didn't really wow-ed me. Too smooth? Overall, it was a decent read but far from enjoyable. I bet there will be more books about the boys especially Cord Maddox (the eldest) and the naughty twins.

'Dirty Little Lies' by Lora Leigh is book three in the "Men of Summer" series. This is the story of Grace Maddox and Zack Richards. I will say I have not read the previous book and did feel I would have enjoyed this book more I think. It seemed that Grace and Zack at met in a previous book and possible covered a story Grace's mom was in. But overall I was able to get past that at did make this a standalone book...I just love Ms. Leigh writing so no hardship enjoying this book.
Grace at the start of this book has been attacked but someone she sort of knows and it is in reference to her mom. When Zack hears about Grace being hurt he comes to her in Tennessee where she is staying. Grace has felt Zack has given her up since the issue with her mom has come to light and feeling hurt about that. So when he shows up out of the blue to help her she isn't taking it well at first. But Zack is showing to be a more Alpha Male to Grace then she ever knew him to be.
I loved their interaction and I liked the Alpha Male act from Zack! Another great Hot book by Ms. Leigh!

I love Ms. Leigh's books, and I really wish I could give it more stars.

Zack has loved Grace (even though he won't admit it) since they were kids. Their romance was great and boy were they hot together. That part of the story I loved.

It was the rest of the story that made me loopy and there were just too many people being introduced that had no real purpose. I'm still not sure who the bad guys are. I mean I know their names and their relationship, but who are these people. What's with the agency and their "dislike" of the Maddox clan. Then we got all the secrets, and there are just way too many of them. Plus I don't feel like there's a real ending and happily ever after with her past.

This is book three in the Men of Summer series by Lora Leigh.
I haven’t read the previous books so I was a little lost sometimes but I really liked Grace and Zack’s story.
Let me just say that the title didn’t promise too much. There was a lot of deception and secrets in this story and I wouldn’t wish a family like Grace’s on anybody. Zack was the only one who really seemed to care about her feelings and I loved how he protected her with everything he had.
Dirty Little Lies was an enjoyable, suspense-filled and smoking hot read!

I would highly recommend reading these books in order. I hadn't realized this was book 3 in a series. I believe they are all standalone books, but there are so many players to this story that I had to go back and re-read some sections to get people straight in my mind.

Despite that, this book was so intriguing to me. All the conspiracy going on and trying to put pieces to the puzzle together made this a really enjoyable read. I'm actually a little bummed that when I go back to book 1, I'm going to know more than I should. If they are anything like this book, I know I will enjoy them despite having answers I shouldn't. I'm not going to explain a whole lot in this review because I personally think its so much more enjoyable to go in blind with this type of story.

So that was what I liked about the story. What I didn't like was how Zack treated Grace at first. Grace has been in love with Zack her whole life. Zack has always been there for her, but at a distance. He doesn't believe she is strong enough for his life. I will admit, that right there ticked me off. Their life in these families have not been easy. She has lost so much in her life and to be treated as if she couldn't handle anything was frustrating. Zack wants Grace but he doesn't think he can have her long term. His pursuit of her while expecting it to be temporary made me see red in the beginning. He knew she was in love with him. It was too late to ask her not to fall and to do that to her after everything she's gone through was cruel. I tried not to let this bother me too much because I knew in the end it would all work out but it was the only part of this story I didn't enjoy. I'm still very glad I read it and I highly recommend it to others who love a good puzzle to solve.

Betrayal and secrets are the norm in the Men of Summer novels, but Dirty Little Lies has a bit more of a plot than I have come to expect from the series and from Lora Leigh. The standard alpha male is present, the innocent yet stubborn girl won't leave his mind, but this time there's a darker threat, one that's carried over from the previous novel and threatens not just Zack and Grace, but their family, and possibly the entire country. I love Zack...let's be real, I love Lora Leigh's alpha males. Grace, on the other hand, I would probably argue with her over everything. She's a confusing sort, determined to stand alone, but unaware of the power others hold over her, unaware of her innocence, and lacking some common sense. Together they're an explosive couple, the chemistry is apparent, but the threat against Grace definitely puts the romance in the backseat. I enjoyed the suspense, because even I wasn't able to guess the connections.

While Dirty Little Lies can be read as a standalone, I suggest reading at least the previous novel, Wicked Lies, first. The story, though a unique one, has some carry over from the previous and I felt some of the smaller details were still pertinent. The Maddox Family is massive, the connections are twisting, and it's impossible to sort them all out. I can't tell you how many names I forgot, which was really terrible when it came time for the big reveal. The first 35% of the novel had me scratching my head repeatedly, I really struggled to follow along and considered stopping a few times. I pushed on, though, and found myself really enjoying the winding, suspenseful tale and erotic smutty moments shared between Zack and Grace.

If you love Lora Leigh's brand of alpha-hunks and strong, stubborn women Dirty Little Lies is the book for you. It's sexy and suspenseful, a mixture of dirty talking bedroom time and guns a'blazing action.

This is the third in the Men of Summer Series and concludes the stories of the three original foster brothers who make up the focus of the series.

Zack Richards knows Grace Maddox has secrets that could get her killed-but he has his own secrets that could affect both her life and his own. She has been targeted for death by someone in her own family, and Zack knows he's the one person who can keep her safe. In spite of their own complicated pasts, he takes her under his wing, and offers his protection -and eventually more. He also knows that one of the secrets being kept from the people of Loudon, Tennessee, will leave Grace devastated.

Grace was cool under all the pressure being brought upon her. While she finally accepted Zack's protection, and opened herself up to him, she was magnificent. Faced with betrayal on all sides, she still managed to hold her head high.

While Zack was not as likeable as Jazz from an earlier story, he was a stalwart friend to Grace, and his devotion to her was unquestioned, even though it put him at odds with members of his own family.

The story was good, the characters well drawn and sympathetic, and this was an enjoyable read. The one caveat is that OMG, you could not keep track of the characters without a scorecard and a family tree. This has been an unusual series, not only with all the family complications, but also because of the time it took to come to fruition. The first book, Loving Lies, came out in 2006. The second book, Wicked Lies, came out last year, and now we have the third story.

Betrayals, bitter resentment, covet operations and a woman who can hold her own, this story contains it all. In the latest in the Men of Summer, Grace Maddox is front and center. As the quiet and meek assistant to the head of the Maddox family, her beloved uncle, Grace is more than meets the eye. She has been trained to be blend in and stay out of the lime light. What most people do not understand, is that she is able to defend herself through training required by her uncle. All of this protection is unable to keep her from emotional harm and damage. This book really broke my heart when I read how Grace is treated.

From a character perspective, this one is more layered than recent Ms. Leigh books as Grace is shown from a young girl to a mature adult. The backstory for Grace makes her more robust and relate-able. The hidden secrets kept from her, are for her "own good", yet they do so much damage. She is surrounded by petty juvenile asshats who could care less about her. They say they love her yet their actions say otherwise, loudly otherwise.

This plot driven book lays the path to Grace's destruction so well. It is clear to see a train wreck waiting to happen. The pit of my stomach is knotted up as I dread the big reveals and showdowns. The responses elicited from Grace is what causes me to feel deep sorrow for her. She does not rail. She does not throw a tantrum. Instead, it is clear how deeply they have cut her. Whilst most emotional trauma is rarely evident on the outside, Ms. Leigh describes it so well, it is easy to see as Grace's heart is mangled and left for all to see. This story invoked a lot of emotion for me which makes me really enjoy it. Perhaps I enjoy these angsty books because I am a masochist. I do enjoy it more when the main character isn't a too stupid to live female. Instead, she is one who is caring and all the things considered good in a person. To see such a caring person be treated so poorly just goes to show how cruel humans can be. And it provides ample evidence that humans are worthless. Since this fits into my narrative that I see the flaws in people more than the positives, it works for me. Even Zack, he is worthless to me. He does not help Grace any more than her family. It is amazing to me that Grace is a functioning adult who rises above those who seek to bring her down. I loved Grace in this story and wish she would have told them all to go to hell and make her own way. She doesn't need any of them. She deserves better.

This story does conclude rather quickly with the reasons for the sabotage. This feels a little to rush which seems to occur more oft than not in a Ms. Leigh story. Still, it does answer many questions and I hope there will be more in this series. For those who enjoy the Naughty series, this one is similar, just darker. This book can be read as a standalone but much better when read in order. I loved this book and recommend it to erotic romance readers who enjoy strong women who can shake it all off and move on.

There is no easy way to say this, my fellow romance book-loving friends, so I’ll be blunt. This author’s writing style is just not for me. Please keep in mind I have not read the previous books, nor do I ever now plan to. If you don’t mind what I call “lusty thoughts/behavior in unlikely situations”, you may be able to refrain from constantly eye-rolling and muttering, “You’ve got to be kidding me.”

Need some examples? Well, here’s a few. After someone attempts to murder the heroine by stabbing her in the thigh, the hero rushes in to see her. They likely have some history of the “I always wanted him, but he never noticed me/rejected me, so I’m now mad as heck at him” variety and “She thinks I’m just a handsome accountant but Danger is really my middle name.” He jerks back her blanket to check her wound, but checks out her female lady parts instead, which is obviously an immediate turn on for both of them. Yes, we are given an OTT quite graphic description of what he sees and wants to do. How convenient she isn’t wearing a bra or underwear, folks. (eyeroll #1) He openly declares he must take her to his bed to protect her from any bad guys. How noble, generous, and sacrificial of him, huh? (eyeroll #2). Btw, He openly discusses this so-called brilliant plan with her family like it’s absolutely no big deal. (eyeroll #3). Had enough? Well, I certainly have.

Throw in the barrage of names and hastily explained past events regarding characters that left me feeling like I just showed up at someone else’s family reunion but didn’t know anyone, and I quickly realized to even try to make sense of any of it would likely require starting with book 1. Unfortunately, the premise of the kinship, or whatever these opposing sides called themselves, holds none of my interest.

If you are a fan of this series, I hope it meets your expectations. After re-reading the synopsis, I simply don’t feel I was given the story I signed up for.

Grab a cup of coffee or a cold drink and a corner because you are not going to want to put this book down!

For years Zach and Grace have teased each other from afar and close up but before that he has taken care of her and it took an attempt on her life for him to finally do something about those feelings.

Almost everyone Grace has loved she has lost and those that are related to her don't seem to want to have much to do with her. Now her traitorous mother has accused Grace of not only helping her conspire against two groups of militia but of having evidence to prove secrets. But her mother is dead now so there is no way to ask what she meant. Her father died at 5 and that was the worst day of her life.

Zach decides to claim her to keep her safe. Her brothers, cousins, and uncle are helping but there are too many secrets, secrets that could still rip her apart and ruin what she and Zach could finally have. Will he be able to keep her alive long enough to explain them all or will it be too late and everything they have built to this point be destroyed?

Will they find out who the real traitor is? Can Grace forgive those closest to her for the deception?

Read the book, it is fantastic. You will not know until the end!

REVIEW:3.5 stars--DIRTY LITTLE LIES is the third installment in Lora Leigh’s contemporary, adult MEN OF SUMMER erotic, romantic suspense series. This is Zack Richards and Grace Maddox’s story line. DIRTY LITTLE LIES can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.

Told from dual third person points of view DIRTY LITTLE LIES focuses on the hunt for the truth. Someone has targeted Grace Maddox and our heroine is but a small diversion in a larger plot conspiring against two families, power and control. Enter Zack Richards, the man who has loved Grace Maddox for a number of years, and the man who is willing to place himself in danger to protect Grace from the person(s) intent on destroying her life. What ensues is the search for the truth; the uncovering of years of lies and deceit; and the heartbreak of betrayal and loss.

The relationship between Grace and Zack is one of unrequited love. Grace has loved Zack since she was a young child but has never felt Zack’s love and acceptance in return. I really enjoyed Dirty Little Lies. My only complaint and in an effort to avoid spoilers, let’s just say, I had a hard time with how quickly Grace caved all around.

As always, Leigh has provided and intense, suspense filled, mystery surrounded by a sultry and sizzling romance. If you love a really great plot paired with a hot and heavy erotic romance, Leigh is the go to author.

This book was confusing as hell to me! That's being said even though I read the second book in this series which usually only helps to understand the subsequent books in the series. Unfortunately this was not the case with this series.

The one main part that I couldn't get past was trying to understand how everyone fit into the story line. There were far too many characters including several who had very minor parts. I kept trying to understand how Zack fit into the different families. At one point he refers to Grace's half sister as his niece....doesn't that mean that Zack and Grace are related????? I don't think this was the case though because it would have been mentioned once Zack revealed his true identity; instead I think it was a typo on the author/editor's part that went unnoticed. But, I spent far too long trying to understand the family make up which pulled me away from this story.

I had higher hopes from this story because I enjoyed the previous one so much, but instead I struggled to even finish the book.

This is officially my worst rated book of the year!! Woooo!
And I am absolutely baffled that this book has almost 4 stars.

Let me start off with the easiest thing to criticize. I found 21 typos in this book. This is the most amount of typos I have ever found in a book and I cannot believe this thing was touched by an editor. Whoever was in charge of editing this thing should be banned from opening a book ever again.

There is just such a clear lack of effort and care in this book. On top of 21 typos, there are a ton of awkward and repetitive lines. These include:
The author describes Zack's balls as "sensitive spheres" on page 102, which I absolutely hated.
"By the time the hunter had made a cell phone call to Cord..." This book was published in 2016. You don't need to describe a call as a "cell phone call." We all understand the call was made on a cell phone.
"And all of them were capable of killing. But were any of them capable of murder?"
"He moved so fast, she couldn't have anticipated his next move."
"He sucked one into his mouth, drawing on it with strong pulls of his mouth."
This one absolutely killed me: "The loss and sheer aloneness she'd felt for so long were gone, leaving behind only regret and a sense of loss."

Okay, now that I have discussed the lacking writing, let me discuss the story. I want to make it very clear that this book is the 3rd book in Lora Leigh's "A Men of Summer" series, and I didn't read the other books. This may contribute to my inability to grasp the world building. But I was just so confused the entire time. The world building makes no sense. I want to discuss a paragraph that I was particularly baffled by:
"The Clans created to protect the back roads and inner sections of the country from infiltration and terrorism, both homegrown and foreign, are vital to the protection of the United States. They're all under threat if that information gets into the hands of the traitor suspected to be in the family of the main Clan. It could destroy the second-phase defense of the country. That second phase is the last hope if we're invaded."
This paragraph elevates the conflict of a traitor within the family from a local threat to a national threat. And I was just absolutely bewildered by this choice. Why are ROADS so important to NATIONAL SECURITY? It's implied that the things the roads lead to-like guns and gold-are what really need to be protected, but I'm just not buying it. You want me to believe that this mob family's generational wealth is vital to America's national security? That's absurd. This also implies that the family would have to be working with the United States government, but nothing of the sort is ever mentioned. And even if they were working with the federal government throughout the book, why would this family hold such high responsibility in America's second-phase defenses? The United States has the most grotesquely funded military in the world.
And who is wanting to invade the country? It's never explained who the traitor in the family would give this information to. You're just expected to understand and believe that there are some vague bad guys who want to destroy America. The book just expecting you to believe these terrorists exist without explaining who they are is definitely built off the nationalist, fear mongering ideas in American culture that anyone and everyone just wants to destroy "the greatest country in the world." This paragraph greatly illustrates the multiple ways in which this book's world building just falls totally flat due to its many holes.

And my other peeve with this book is the absolutely absurd amount of characters. I'm going to show you some paragraphs that illustrate this:
"Zack's aunt, her Maddox lover, and their daughter, Calli; Zack's uncle Clyde and his wife, Mena, as well as their two sons Gray and Lobo. Then there were four bodyguards she'd been introduced to, and the arrival of her uncle Vince and cousins Cord, Sawyer, and Deacon." Were you counting? That is FIFTEEN CHARACTERS in one paragraph.
"'Teague and Lana are here'...'Egan and Jane and Camden and Gina are behind them. Mary and Thomas are just coming around the mountain from town.'" That's EIGHT DIFFERENT CHARACTERS in one paragraph.
These two paragraphs make 23 characters, AND THIS ISN'T EVEN ALL OF THE CHARACTERS. One huge cause of my confusion was the sheer amount of characters I was expected to keep up with. No person can possibly keep up with this many characters, their names, and their relations to the main characters without writing them down and studying their notes. About halfway through the book I just gave up on trying to remember them. Due to this, the reveal of the family traitor was anti-climactic. The characters that are revealed to be the traitors aren't even important characters. They're just vague side characters that I didn't even remember.

And just a personal grievance, so many of the characters' names are so stupid. Cord was the best name you could come up with? Really? Cord?

Overall, this book was lacking in every way. The writing fell flat. The world building fell flat. The characters fell flat. The love story fell flat. And ultimately the biggest sin this book committed: all, but one, of the sex scenes fell flat.

A passionate romance amidst a backdrop of intriguing suspense…

This is the third book in the Men of Summer series that can be read as a stand-alone, though a part of the underlying storyline is a continuation from the previous books enough information was provided to be able to follow, this book centers on one couple.

The Kin and the Agency have a problem that could cause a break in their longstanding association. They are the secret second line of defense for this country against terrorist invasion and the traitor that was apprehended previously within the Kin during interrogation accused her daughter, a young woman of high regard within the Maddox family, of aiding and abetting what she’d done. Now there are those between both factions who will stop at nothing to find out what she knows.

Zack Richards has been living amongst the Kin but with a secret affiliation to the Agency that only one member of the Kin is aware of, the Kin is his family of choice. Learning that the woman he’s desired for years is attacked he knows the secret of his connections will now provide her safety, yet it’s ironic that it’s that secret that caused him to stay away from her before. He’s always watched her from a distance because of his associations but now he’ll use them to keep those wishing to use and harm her at bay but she’s not the delicate sweet-natured woman she’s appeared to be, she’s also feisty, stubborn with an independent streak which frustrates him and makes him want her more.

Grace Maddox seems to be guilty of betraying the Kin by association and her mother’s last words . She was as shocked as everyone else upon learning of the betrayal and is innocent of what was claimed. But it isn’t long before she’s physically attacked by someone she’s known her whole life for knowledge she doesn’t have. The Maddox family has her under lockdown and will go to war if anyone tries to take her. When the man she’s been in love with and fantasized about for years and who has never paid her much attention offers her protection she is stunned. How can a quiet yet intense and sexy accountant provide her protection? She did not expect the alpha he turned out to be and his current actions and attitudes not only set off her temper but make her yearn for him more.

This story is of a passionate romance that blooms from unrequited love amidst a backdrop of intriguing suspense, the premise is captivating. There are those hunting for the truth of what happened years ago and who is reasonable for what is happening now. One traitor was unearthed but the conspiracy runs deep and they weren’t working alone. Years of lies and deception are brought to light, with answers comes much personal pain from the depth of the betrayals revealed, forgiveness isn’t easy when the truth is emotionally devastating, is love strong enough to heal such familial wounds?

Zack and Grace were great characters with emotional depth and much inner strength, both tenacious in their determination for answers and understanding of each other, the physical chemistry was electric, the banter which was filled with frustration and sexual innuendo was also at times amusing. I loved that the façades they had deemed necessary to live under were a true surprise to each other and how seeing the real person behind the façades just enhanced their feelings even more. This story is my favorite of the two books that I have read in this series.

Hmm, not sure about this one.
The Good
The beginning...awesome!. Dirty Little Lies was a steamy and intense read. I expected nothing less from Lora Leigh. Grace and Zack were great together. I liked their romance, even if Zack was a little too alpha sometimes and Grace a little too weak. But they oddly worked for me in the end, even with all the bumps between. They gave each other the strength they needed.

I loved all the secrets and mysteries slowly revealed as the story went on. Things get super complicated as people reveal truths that have been buried a long time.
The Bad
Some of this is my fault for reading book 3 of the series, but I didn't know that going in. This book should not be read as a standalone. I was confused the whole time. I didn't understand the world they lived in. I guess all the world-building was in book 1.

The amount of people in this family was ridicules. I couldn't keep up. Too many characters, names, and too many things happening with all of them. I didn't even understand who the bad guys were at the end. Was I suppose to remember them from earlier in the book because I didn't. Every time I turned the page I wanted to ask "Who the hell is this person?"
The Snuggly
So steamy and sexy. A very sexually-charged book without it being erotica. Just very detailed in a few yummy sex scenes.
Final Thoughts
Dirty Little Lies was okay but I was too confused. I think the biggest problem is that I didn't read the first two books. I am use to Lora Leigh and her great erotica. I think I will stick with that for now. But if you liked the previous books I don't see why you wouldn't like this one.

This is the 3rd book in the Men of Summer Series and it appears to end the Men of Summer series. This is Zack Richards & Grace Maddox story. Zack knows Grace knows something that could get her killed but his secrets are far worse because they affect his life AND her life and what he knows are far deadlier. Grace has been marked for death by someone in her own family and it’s a race against time to try and prevent her death which is where Zach comes in because he knows he is the only man for this job. They have a complicated past which is mired in angst, pain, passion, and betrayal- Zack is still there to protect her and shield her and provide protection from all that will hurt Grace. But what will Zach do when Grace finds out that one of the secrets that he has been keeping has been something she has been seeking answers to all her life? The truth will leave her devastated and could send her reeling in despair.
Grace is very innocent and sweet. She has suffered due to the upbringing ( by her Mother) and loss in her past ( of her father ) yet she has loved Zach pretty much all of her life. She has stayed strong under pressure and ended up opening her heart to Zach even though she knew she may end up hurt by Zach but this is the man she has loved forever. Their past and present collide as they are on a collision course to out a traitor. As they work together, the sexual tension is intense and hot. I love how Grace gave as good as she got and how she didn’t let the men get away with their slights. There is a great supporting cast of characters who I would love to see books written about—her cousins and half-brothers – two that come to mind are Beau Remi and Mad. I loved how this story clicked for me , it ended in an epic climax and made everything which started back in 2006 with Loving Lies completed in 2016 with Dirty Little Lies- what a fantastic wild ride.

Dirty Little Lies is the third book in the Men of Summer series, which is something I did not realize when I requested it from NetGalley. It can be read as a standalone, but there is a bunch of previous drama, angst, and happenings that reading about prior would probably add to the story and make it a bit easier to follow. Since I didn't read the other two books I felt a bit left out. Like there was more to these families that I just wasn't privy to. So many people were discussed and introduced that I got a little swept up and lost in the party. That is the only reason why I took away a star, and honestly it's my fault for not reading the description before reading!!

Zack and Grace have had feelings for each other since they were young. Zack has always hidden his feelings and has so many secrets that a relationship between the two of them feels nearly impossible. Grace is in trouble and Zack does everything he can to keep her safe, even though Grace is more than capable to protect herself. Will they be able to get past the secrets and lies between them and find out who the real traitor is?

This is my first read from Lora Leigh and I can happily say that I will be back for more. First I plan to read the first two books in this series, and then possibly a re-read of this story. The writing was flawless, the banter between the characters was great, the sexual tension was through the roof, and the naughty bits were steamy to say he least! If you like suspense with some hot love scenes mixed in, then this is the story for you!

I've been waiting impatiently for this book for so long that I actually forgot much of the previous books in this series leaving me quite confused when I first started reading Dirty Little Lies. So with that said, a big fat NO on it being able to be read as a standalone. Just don't even try it. The more of Leigh's books I read, the more they are all starting to sound the same and this was no exception.

Zack and Grace's passion for one another was the biggest highlight of the story for me. Zack may have been denying his feelings for Grace for years, but once he gave in it was a force of nature all its own and boy did he try to make up for lost time. But beyond that is where the story took a big dive for me. It wasn't plotted out well enough, and I guarantee I'm not the only reader who felt lost most of the time. The "villains" of the story didn't make a whole lot of freakin' sense to me, and I honestly think the author didn't really know the why behind their motives either. It was a convoluted mess of lies, secrets, and deceit that I just couldn't get into like I could with Leigh's other books, so I was left feeling really disappointed once I reached the end. I can't say that I recommend this series, but I do suggest reading either her Nauti or Callahan series because they are structured far better and just as hot if not hotter.

This book picks up shortly after the events in Jazz and Kenni's book. We are still trying to find out who is the traitor among the family that runs the Kin.

Throughout this book, we discover more and more just who Zack and Grace really are and how long the deceptions have been going on.

What we do know is that Zack is in love with Grace and has been and like any stubborn man refuses to act on his desire due to his desire to protect Grace. However when Grace is attacked at the doorstep of her own home, he believes the only way to protect her to make everyone think that they are lovers. Grace has loved Zack for years and believes that he only feels pity for her and refuses to go along with his insane plan to use her to draw out the conspirators who are betraying their families. Unfortunately, its an argument that she can't win and winds up installed in the Zack's house and bedroom and among all his friends.

I really enjoyed the story although the end of the story felt rushed to me. The attraction between Zack and Grace could have been explored a bit more and along with a bit more backstory.

Lora Leigh I am going to forward you a bill for a new Kindle. Dirty Little Lies was so hot that my Kindle stop working. I mean literally stop working…. Okay so the battery needed charging. But no lie, Dirty Little Lies was seriously good, excellent, outstanding.
The third novel to her Men of Summer has us on the edge of our sits from the very first chapter. When Grace Maddox life is in danger by whom she thought was a friend, but she soon learns that she really can’t trust anyone. Or so she thought. When Zack Richards finds out that Grace was attacked he made good time to her bed side. But Zack Richards is the last man that Grace would have protecting her. But when forces marked Grace for death, Zack is not going to let anyone stop him from protecting the only women that he wants in his arms and that would include the woman herself.
I have to say if you haven’t begun this series yet, you don’t know what you have been missing. Out of the entire series I think I enjoyed this one the most.

Some secrets are just meant to be buried forever. Grace is about to find out more about her father's death and what made her mother become a complete monster. Zack knows that he has to be honest with her about himself and his true identity but he knows that she will fight him all the way. Someone wants Grace dead and they will never stop until that happens but who and why only now? The family is really worried about her and all they can do is to trust that Zack can keep her safe and help her figure out the puzzle.
She is going to find out so many things and she will going to be heartbroken and she will need Zack more than ever but she is going to hate him as well as he has hidden so much from her.
Can the family protect themselves from each other for much longer can they ever truly have peace? Will the Brigham's & Kins ever be at peace or will the next incident set off a war? Loved the story as Grace & Zack are so meant to be together and life is too short to have regrets. I received a copy in exchange for an honest review via Netgalley.

Grace Maddox has been in love with Zack Richards for years but he always teases her and goes on his merry way. Now Grace’s life is in danger and Zack is determined to protect her. She feels safe with him but knows that he will leave her when the danger is past and her heart will once again be in tatters. She needs to hold herself apart and not fall more in love with Zack but she can’t. Zack soon realizes that if anything happened to Grace, his world will end. They have to find the traitor who has put Grace’s life in danger.

I have not read Wicked Lies and I would have understood more of the story if I had read it first. As it was, the story was very confusing. What is the Kin and what is the Agency? How are these related? Too many unanswered questions. A lot of characters and I finally had to make a chart to fully understand who was who.

I did not like this book as well as other books by Lora Leigh (the Nauti series).

I love Lora Leigh. I always expect to be entertained and see some sexiness. This book was tough for me. I didn't read The Men of Summer books, so it left me with a bit of confusion as I read. I definitely didn't get the standalone feeling from it and kept feeling like I was missing bits and pieces.
Even though I had some confused moments, the story itself was still smoking hot and definitely suspenseful. Grace and Zach had their ups and downs, but I enjoyed their relationship. It was a more dramatic read from Lora Leigh compared to what I have read by her before.
Overall, it was a nice read and I'd recommend it to my fellow fans of sexy romance.

This is the 3rd book in the series and I don't think it should be read as a stand alone. It's not the best in the series. Although we are dealing with a different couple with Zack and Grace, it continues the mystery from the previous books. Even though I read all the books, I was still confused as far the Kin and the workings of the people involved. There are a lot of family members and agents and things just got really confusing. This may have distracted me from the romance of Zack and Grace. I found it hard to keep up with the cousins, uncles and brothers. In true Lora Leigh fashion, the hero is alpha and the sex is steamy, but this was just an ok read for me. The reveal and end seemed kind of rushed. The mystery came out of no where. Even though I couldn't keep track of who was who, some of the characters were pretty interesting. I see potential for additional stories involving them.
