By the end of the book, you will feel like you have gone through an emotional and cerebral roller-coaster. This book will really make you think; but more than that, it will make you feel. The Path is a call to action for all generations, young and old. Not since Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist, has a book come out as thought provoking and inspiring. Mr. King does it again. As an educator, I may use this book for a project wherein my 8th grade students will draw the pAth between where they are now, and their ultimate goal. Using the lessons the boy learned in the book, they can draw the obstacles (leading down the wrong paths) that they may encounter, and reflect on how to overcome those obstacles to stay on the right track. I felt adult readers might find the spelling and grammatical errors outputting. Again, a good educational tool, and I appreciate the book for that reason.
Very good, fast read. I read it with the kids ages 10-16, and then gave them a writing prompt & vocabulary words. It was an amazing conversation starter. It took us less than 2 hours to read it taking turns reading aloud.
