The Infinity Formula is a wonderful action-packed adventure, featuring young daredevil Kyle Walker and his intelligent sister, Lily. The plot unravels quickly and is full of suspense, and is very well constructed with a solid punch of science, which brings a high level of interest and relevance to the story. The characters are people you could easily get to know, their snappy dialogue and situations intriguing, believable, and at times, humorous. You feel as if you have entered their really cool and adventurous world, and the touch-and-go romantic connection that Kyle experiences adds flair and appeal to the story. Their encounters with Professor Velen and their introduction to the Infinity Formula are both insightful and suspenseful, while Kyle and Lily plunge into adventure as an attempt is made on the Professor's life, and they struggle to save her, avoiding the hand of a dangerous assassin, as the secrets that bind them to the Infinity Formula might very well kill them. Excellently constructed, taught, suspenseful, and chilling, The Infinity Formula is the first of something uniquely scientific and delightfully dangerous!
Although you can tell that a great amount of editing took place, I still feel it could use more work. This truly has so much potential. It could easily become one of my favorites. However, as I said there has been a great amount of editing, so I will be changing the previously given three stars to four.
Some of the chapters still need more structure and some of the ideas still do not quite fit together. I did notice that most of the useless descriptions were taken out and additional information was given for things that are more necessary.
The specific example I gave below was not only fixed but had a few things added that gave it some oomph!
Below is the original review.
This book is good and has the potential to be great. Here is the deal, the storyline is a solid idea it is the actual writing that I feel needs help. In addition I think the placement of ideas needs work too. The individual chapters needs a little more…structure? I think that is the word I am looking for. Often things that were completely useless were described and then we were given little to no information on more important matters (I should add I don’t mean it was held back for suspense, just flat out didn’t describe things.) The phrasing and ideas within the book often jumped from place to place. Almost as if the author had so many good ideas he could not decide which to put in and so he added both. I also noticed that subject pronouns were used at inappropriate times making it difficult to understand exactly who he was talking about. For example this is taken from the beginning of the book (it is from the second chapter not a spoiler). “The gunshot rang. Lily… He pushed her to the ground, covering her. He was shouting at him, but he couldn’t hear, the crowd had erupted into a frenzy…” Someone please tell me who was shouting at whom? Even if the author meant to say she instead of he that still shows the need for some more editing. Anyway, as you can tell from that little blurb it really is an action packed book. I honestly would like to see this book worked on more and republished as it really has so much to work with. That is my honest opinion.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a quick, honest review.
One of the first things that jumped out at me was the authenticity of the dialogue between the siblings (Kyle and Lily), which feels very real. You almost feel like you know them, and it really helped set me (the reader) up for the events ahead.
I also want to add that the premise feels very fresh, and it'll undoubtedly appeal to your sense of curiosity as the plot is unraveled. The author also has a great sense of humor, which really shines as you get further in. Great read! Glad I had the chance to pick it up!
The Infinity Formula is exciting from the very beginning, with a brilliant twist at the end. It is a good story, and with some grammatical polishing and more illustrative writing at certain points, it could be even better.
"The Infinity Formula" was truly an entertaining read. It was fast-paced, intelligent, and—oh!—so funny! Two pages in and I was already laughing and completely hooked. With every page, I was further pulled into the story, into Kyle's world.
But what really did it for me was the characters. They all "shined" in their own way with their strong, engaging personalities. And their jokes and bantering made these characters even more endearing.
I also enjoyed the fighting scenes, and the chases and the escapes. I could picture them so clearly it was like I was watching an action movie. And like any action movie, there were some moments when I asked myself, "Is this realistic?" But that's the beauty of fiction writing, it's about entertainment, not so much realism. And I was thoroughly entertained, so it worked.
There is one more thing I'd like to add. As a woman who loves the action genre, I am more than used to seeing not so positive representations of women. Even when female characters are portrayed as "strong", they are many times barely more than a stereotype or a tool to make the male main character cooler. And so I was very surprised, pleasantly so of course, that I could not find one shred of sexism in this novel. There was only one moment when I thought, "Is this sexist?" But then the next paragraph showed me it wasn't—quite the opposite, actually, it showed me the novel had great female characters and that they had crucial roles in the plot. This is representation done right.
And so, I recommend this book to anyone who loves a fast-paced, well-plotted novel with lovable characters and jokes that will make you laugh out loud.
I'd like to start off my saying I was pleasantly surprised from the beginning. Greatly enjoyed the book and appreciated all the action., loved the character Kyle, from the beginning, he was interesting to me and he reminded me of my brother. As for the other characters, I felt they all played a great part in the story and really kept it interesting. There is something eerie about being different and Kyle fit that description. The book got a lot more interesting when Lily get kidnapped and I couldn’t wait to read the next page. I’'d perhaps change a few word choices and maybe shorten or lengthen a few chapters, but overall this is a solid novel. I look forward to reading more from this author.
It will captures your attention and keeps you entwined, highly recommend!

The Infinity Formula is a mix of sci-fi and fantasy. A world with bio-technology and futuristic stuff I was clueless of. The weapons and projects left me speechless. But it didn't matter I was in the dark about the stuff. I was still intrigued, reading each word as if I knew what it was. Helping the group run through the cities firing guns, tackling bad guys and saving those around me. I wasn't disappointed with the wild ride of up and down action. Steven done a great job creating characters with vivid detail and amazing individual personalities. I think each of them are great in their own way. Kyle is the one who stands out for me with his selfless attitude, quick jokes and his ability to stand up for his sister. He would do anything for her and that is why I like him. If you enjoy movies like James Bond and Hit Man then pick up The Infinity Formula. It will pull you into the action and never let you go.
The Infinity Formula is about two foster siblings (Kyle & Lily), who are invited to the formula's press conference because Lily won the competition of cracking the code. Even though its original purpose was to create nano-bytes that could alter human DNA to fight diseases, the idea of turning those nano-bytes in to secretly causing a wide-spread plague appeals to the worst type of people!
This book screams action & adventure novel! I mean five pages in, there is already gun-fire, an ambulance, and a bunch of cops and this continues throughout the entire story! Even though its less than 200 pages long, within are assassins, kidnappings, wonderful sarcasm, evil villains, fist-fighting, well-written characters, and a sibling bond that makes anyone with sisters or brothers desperately wanting to call and reassure them that you love them. Definitely an entertaining read that keeps you wanting more!
This book is great! The book is very fast and suspenseful, and you see that by reading the first few pages of the chapter. The first few pages provide some laughs, too. One of the protagonists, Kyle Walker, pretends to have achieved his foster sister Lily’s accomplishment (I won’t spoil what it is) in order to impress a girl, Beth. The Infinity formula itself is pretty cool. As described in the novel, “…it is not just a way to fight against disease. It unlocks the secret of our cells and for all the good it can do in this world, it has the potential for a much…darker purpose.” I like the fact that this formula creates the science-fiction aspect of the novel. I thought that the first book of this series was excellent, and I hope others will soon follow! I can’t wait to see what Kyle Walker does next. This is a great read if you’re interested in suspenseful science-fiction thrillers!
There are two ways to review this book. The first way is simply to say I read it without wanting to put it down as it was fast paced, exciting and a fun book to read.I did found this story to be very clever at some stages. Steven does a great job of making the story fly by quickly, but does so without sacrificing the story line. The second way is to say that it had some unrealistic scenarios. I don't want to spoil it for you, but I found the ending to be a little corny. If, however, you can look past the problems and just enjoy the story, you'll enjoy this novel as Steven is a strong story teller. It was a lot of fun to read and I look forward to the next one.
The infinity formula is a story about teen Kyle and his foster sister Lily as they evade what troubles lie before them. Lily is a genius who has cracked the infinity formula and invited by Scientist Velen. The infinity formula is supposed to be a boon to mankind But it turns over their lives, as evil seeps to claim it. Kyle and Lily brave every obstacle on the way to protect the world and themselves, encountering many dangerous fights and situations. This is especially a great story for any young teen who is into technology and action!
It is second book I have read by this author. And I enjoyed reading it almost as much as the first book. Story in this book grabbed me and I didn't want to put it down. It is fast paced, witty and interesting. However it is intended for younger reader. And as such there are things that 14 years old children will love and want to do, but for me are maybe too much unrealistic. Other thing i need to mention is that there were few mistakes here and there. Overall it is a good book which could be with a few improvements a great book.
I really liked the general idea of the book, the plot was fun and fast-paced, the characters amusing and interesting. But in my opinion, the book lacks in the editing department. There are some logical, grammatical and spelling mistakes. It seems that some parts of the book do not quite fit together. This makes the book seem rushed and half-backed. Without that, the book might have gotten four or five stars from me. But it is still an entertaining read, if one overlooks its deficiencies.
I enjoyed the story, and liked the characters, but there are many mistakes that an editor would have fixed. There were sentences that duplicates, and many places where it was obvious that this was a speech to text endeavor. Things like an die, for and I, or abounded for abandoned made it almost a chore in some places. I gave it three stars for the edit errors but four and a half for entertaining me.
I really enjoyed the book, stumbled onto it when looking for books like Jason Steed, but this was pretty different to be honest, more modern. I feel like the author actually knows what teenagers speak like, something I appreciate. Was a little too fast paced is my only criticism, sometimes I had to go back to understand things, but a good plot with a surprising twist at the end
This was a really poorly written book! Quite frankly, it's really filled with editorial bugs and it has some logical inconsistencies as well. Several sentenses are doubled! I mean, just a simply read through before publishing would have done a great deal to improve the technical quality. And the plot and story is very shallow and not very interesting. I wasted my time.
