Please do not ask why a grown woman is obsessed with a young reader series but honestly, it’s funny and entertaining and I might just read this and only this to my third graders forever.

This was really fun. I loved the dry, self-deprecating humor throughout. The writing voice was delightful.

Around this was a sprawl of expensive luxury hotels with fancy spas and heated swimming pools and attentive staffs who catered to the guests’ every whim. Unfortunately, we weren’t staying in one of those hotels.

In this book, the spy kids go undercover at a ski resort in Colorado (only a state away from “the greatest snow on earth”). This leads to a lot of slapstick skiing mishaps.

Of course, the plot with kids on spy missions isn’t very plausible, but that’s not the point: the point is to let young readers see themselves doing daring grown-up stuff. The book is complete with James Bond-type villains who enjoy monologuing.

There is a lot of angst for a group of 13- and 14-year-olds—everybody has a crush on somebody who doesn’t like them back.

I have not read the other novels in the series, so I missed out on characterizations and got some spoilers, but I did not have trouble understanding what was going on. This is a perfect book for those between MG and YA, especially boys—that group that it’s hard to find books for.

Ben Ripley is thrilled to be officially called for his first field assignment. He’s going to Colorado to learn to ski. While there, he needs to befriend a girl so he can get close to her father and figure out his evil plans. However, Ben soon realizes getting close to his target isn’t going to be as easy as he thought. With the clock ticking, can he save the day again?

While the target audience might be middle graders, this is a delightful read for anyone. The story is strong, the pace never lags, and we get some fantastic complications and nail biting action scenes along the way. The characters are fun as always, and we get some good growth in a couple of them. There’s plenty of humor as well.

This time the movement of the story was simply EPIC. The beginning seemed a little too "normal", and the return of the Pirncipal (intentional mistake) was kind of annoying but funny.

However, there's a different feel to this book respect to the others; far from SPYDER, an actual sanctioned operation, Mike's return.

All three of the themes have "elevated" in this fourth book.
For once, the mission is a real mission, which gives it a sort of "professional feel" to it: no more escaping SPYDER, no more weird job offerings or such.

The action starts right away, with investigation, infiltrations and very funny undercover conversations.

I just read Spy Ski School and it held up...I guess.
First of all, as far as I'm concerned, by the time a full scale series reaches its 4th book, it usually begins to run out of that fuel that once drove the series and starts to become more and more generic and obvious that the author is mostly doing this for the money it'll make.

This is a far more common case in series that don't NEED a sequel, and stand out on there own with just one, two, or heck, three books to tell a satisfying story. After that the originality is lost and the series has to spend time on other things that seem jarring and strange for the series because it isn't like what the series has been like so far, and you can tell the fabrication that has been done solely for the cash.

This isn't an attack on Stuart Gibbs and I certainly don't think he's a bad person for just trying to make money, but jeez man, PLEASE just let this series stop here before it becomes something more...wretched. Unfortunately, that doesn't look like it will be the case.

i feel like parts of this book are excerpts from fanfictions, but just a little higher quality writing. The attempt to form relationships and put them in situations that not only aren't gripping, but also seem unnecessary, and perhaps even filler.

AND THAT ENDING, UGH. They shited out that ending even MORE rushed and stupidly than usual. One of the reasons the last few chapters are just, just terrible is because Murray now has a girlfriend character they just threw in there who is so incredibly awkward and UNBELIEVABLE. She's just like, holding them at gunpoint and acting genuinely friendly to them-in this really creepy way. It's truly baffling, this character is. I think i see what Stuart was going for, but it did NOT turn out right.

Also, Ben shows his stunning perceptiveness at the end. Now usually, I am able to suspend my sense of disbelief for these inevitable times at the end where he miraculously reveals the evil guy's plans, but not this time, nope. Instead of impressing the reader, it was WAY to superhuman and was too unbelievable of a pill to swallow.

They emphasize the relationships between the character subplot way to much and it ends up taking up most of the book and getting slightly tedious. And my god does the Ben-Erica relationship feel straight out of a fanfiction. Ahg!

There were some chapters that I liked a lot and the side characters-aside from the main villain and his daughter-are very good and even refreshing sometimes.

The writing felt mostly professional and I did like the turn out with Mike, or Matt, or whatever his name was, I'm way to tired to go check. Unfortunately, even that felt pandering.

And I'm giving this one a 5/10 and a 3/5.

Spy Ski School might be my favorite book from the Spy School series. Gibbs, a skier himself, adds relatable moments in the snow to the plot, from horrible wipe outs to torture devices - I mean, ski boots. This adds to the book's appeal for fans of the sport. Gibbs also handles the transition to a new bad guy while SPYDER recovers from Ben's big blow well. The new characters add a boost to the story, as you never know the truth about anyone until the end. I also love Mike’s bigger role. Having him as the hero in a couple of scenes and seeing how he interacts with the spies makes me smile. There was also some development in romantic relationships. I should add that the evil plot in Spy Ski School is one of my favorites in a Stuart Gibbs book, because I was actually able to figure out bits of it but I was still surprised when it was revealed in full (James Bond references and all). It left me feeling neither unsurprised nor disoriented. Spy Ski School was a 5-star read for me, and if you liked the other three books in the series, you will likely enjoy this one.

I will start this review by asserting that Spy Ski School by Stuart Gibbs is my favorite spy school book by far. The book is in the narrative of Ben Ripley, a 12-year-old spy-in-training. Stuart Gibbs has an interesting way of making his sentences flow, which I think gives his books something unique. The author can take us from an undercover school in Washington, D.C, to Vail, Colorado. Moreover, in the story, Ben and his group of spies are on a ski mission to figure out the evil plots of the notorious Chinese hitman, Leo Shang. This book is very well put together, and considering Spy Ski School is one of the earlier books in the series, the characters were introduced nicely. On the trip, Ben’s mission is to get close to Leo Shang’s daughter, Jessica Shang. Ben is supposed to only talk to her only for missionary reasons, however, as soon as Ben lays his eyes on her, he is immediately in love. This is all fun and gleeful for Ben until his best friend, Mike, spots Ben on the mountain coincidentally causing a huge threat to Ben’s cover. Ben has to manage completing the mission and staying away from Mike. If this wasn’t enough of a problem for Ben, Jessica is attracted to Mike, and Ben is forced to interact with Mike, not knowing if he will blow his cover or not. This book left me speechless, packed with so many jaw-droppers and cliff hangers, I just couldn’t stop reading it. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in action and teen books. In all, Spy Ski School is definitely an engaging read.

13-year-old Ben Ripley finally has a break of spy school, not knowing the CIA already has other plans for him. A billionaire and his daughter have booked a entire hotel out to go skiing for the first time. Also the CIA suspects that this billionaire (Leo Shang) has something horrible up his sleeve. A team of kids, including Ben and Erica, will have to go in the to same lessons as Leo Shang's daughter, Jessica, to get close to her farther to find out what this threat is. I liked the drama between Erica, her dad, and her grandfather. However, I didn't like how Ben had a crush on Jessica, and Erica, but then his best friend also had a crush on him, and it was really confusing. If you liked Evil Spy School, Spy School, or Spy Camp, you would like this book too.

This might be my favorite one so far! At first, it was starting out to be my least favorite one, but after the plot got going, it was actually pretty good!

My only issue is Warren. I really really reallyyyyy do not like him. He's just so annoying, and how'd he even get into spy school anyways?? He can camouflage, but that's literally it. And I definitely wouldn't be choosing him for all these missions, and saying that you'd 'never hear the end if it' if you didn't choose him isn't a good enough reason to take him along on a life or death mission where you actually need good spies. That's all.

4.5- You can tell Stuart Gibbs did a lot of skiing research for this book ;) I've never gone skiing, but that didn't stop me from thoroughly enjoying this book. The story never lost me, even with all the skiing that was going on. This book is a bit different than others in the series; there are a lot more "feelings" happening in this book, relationship-wise... girls vs. girls, boys vs. girls, parents vs. kids, girl talk, middleschool mind games, etc. This book has it all!

Notes: one swear word, (and a kiss *gasp!*) otherwise clean

Really good. Finally some Ben-Erica romance for you Berica supporters. The only romance is a kiss (instigated by Erica). She also shows some jealousy for Ben. Plus, some possible Ben-Zoe romance, but I won't tell you. Gotta read to find out!!
Plus something huge happens between Mike and Ben. I'm not a spoiler, so I won't tell you. Again, gotta read to find out!!

I thought this was a really good book. Someone recommended this series to me, and I have grown to like it a lot. There is a lot of unexpected twists and turns, and that makes the book a whole lot better. If you like adventure, fantasy, or anything related to investigations, I would definitely recommend this series.

I think its a really good book and a lot of people should read it, because it is a really action packed and in the books I read, there are not really a lot of action. The only thing that is holding it back, though, is the book is mushy and I don't like mush.

I’ll admit this book was pretty slow and boring up until about halfway through. It was an enjoyable read and a great way to relax on a slow day. It was also a nice addition to see Mike enter the spy world. I see him becoming a great addition to the group of young spies that this book follows. When Erica kissed Ben however, that was a total shock to me. She had never seemed like the type to express her feelings and yet here we are. Overall, it’s a good book and i recommend it to anyone invested in the Spy School series.

Spy ski school by Stuart Gibbs is an amazing book. It is also the fourth book in the series. The theme for this book is keep trying and eventually it will happen. The reason why this is the theme is because Ben had to continuously try to infiltrate the terrorist. Spy Ski School is an amazing mystery/spy fiction book. The book starts off at the spy school and then goes to vail to become friends with a terrorist billionaire daughter to discover and stop operation golden fist. There are many characters in this book, the main character is named Ben Ripley. Ben is a student studying to become a spy with his friend Erica, who is a master spy who can do anything from diffuse bombs to infiltrate terrorist agencies. He has multiple friends along with him all studying to become spies. A girl named Zoe is one of them who is a fun loving nice person, some more of his friends chop the tough guy and Warren the scared guy who has a big crush on Zoe. When they get there Ben instantly starts to get close to Jessica the bad guy's daughter and is even invited over for hot chocolate and all is going well until Ben's best friend Mike shows up who is not a spy. He instantly starts to derail the mission as Jessica develops a Crush on Mike and worst of all the bad guy starts to get angry at Ben because he is an overprotective father. While Mike might accidentally blow Ben's cover, Ben has to balance everything and stay under radar from the bad guy. Will Ben be able to overcome all the odds and stop operation Gold fist. This book was absolutely amazing and it kept you on the edge of your seat like for example when the helicopter started firing at ben you didn’t know if he would make it out alive. I also liked how it was through Ben's eyes like what it was like for him, like how you could read all his thoughts but you figured stuff at the same time as him like you figure out what the bad guys plot is at the same time as Ben. Another thing I like is how the characters are realistic like for example Ben has to actually practice skiing instead of just mastering it instantly. Also like how Ben isn’t automatically an amazing spy he actually has to work towards it. Another thing I really liked about this book is how at the end it isn’t just like the bomb timer stops I like how it keeps going but the bomb doesn’t explode which is more realistic because they just disconnected the bomb not the tower. Another thing I like is how Bean's Enemy, Murray from the end of book one is also back and in the middle of it so Murray and Ben's rivalry continues instead of just dropping Murray from the series. The last thing I like is how you see the character development like how Mike starts thinking like a spy and figures out there spies which allows him to really step up which I loved. This book is amazing and I would recommend it for 4th-8th graders. Also if you like spy books with a little bit of mystery you would love this book. The writing style is looking through the main characters' eyes with normal chapters so no poems or anything weird. All those reasons are why Ski Spy School is the best book ever!

A super-rich Chinese businessman with ties to the underworld has come to Vail, Colorado for a week of skiing with his cute, but very sheltered, 13-year-old daughter. Naturally, the CIA thinks its best shot at finding out what Leo Shang is up to is to get Ben Ripley, a second-year student at the agency's Espionage Academy, to befriend her on the slopes. Luckily, skiing turns out to be the one sport that comes naturally to Ben. Unluckily, his better-looking, cool and charming buddy from middle school, Mike Brezinski, shows up in Vail that same week. Mike isn't supposed to know that Ben's science school is really a school for spies, and Jessica Shang's instant attraction to him threatens to mess up Ben's mission.

Luckily, fourth-year student and cloak-and-dagger genius Erica Hale is on the ski trip, too. While Erica turns on the flirt, trying to lure Mike away from Jessica, you can watch with evil glee as an avalanche of teenage jealousy threatens to bury Vale. Warren (the kid from spy school whose only good subject is camouflage) is jealous of Zoe, who likes Ben. Zoe is jealous because Ben likes Erica. Ben is jealous of the attention Erica is showing Mike – and so, by design, is Jessica Shang. It's even possible that Erica is a little jealous about the way Jessica looks at Ben. Though it's hard to tell with her – her school nickname is Ice Queen, after all. The whole adolescent romance vibe builds like a bomb fixing to go off, providing just the distraction needed to make it a surprise when things really start to explode. Only then do Ben and his friends – spy kids and otherwise – realize how explosive Shang's evil plan may be. And their race to stop it isn't just a test of survival for them, but maybe for the whole free world.

Once again, young Ben's top-secret adventures bring the whole range of rewards for readers in search of fun. It has terrific scenery, thrilling and (literally) chilling action and danger, intriguing mystery, and lots and lots of laughs. You'll meet a character named Dane Brammage and, rather than wonder how a smart author like Gibbs would think he could get away with something like that, you'll be amazed that it hasn't happened before. (Don't correct me if I'm wrong; I'm having fun here.) The bad guys are scary. The good guys are hilarious. And Ben has special qualities that will leave you in no doubt that he has a great career ahead of him.

This is the fourth of going on nine "Spy School" adventures. The next title in the series is Spy School Secret Service.

I read pretty much every book in this series in one week, this is just my favorite so I decided to write a review for it.

Spy Ski School follows a group of young spies as they try to uncover a scheme called Gold Fist.

The scheme is taking place in the mountains in Colorado.

The main character, Ben, has to pose as another kid on a ski trip to get closer to the ringleader of the crime's daughter.

Ben is on the mission with a few other members of the spy school he is in.

Ben's friend who is not a spy shows up coincidentally and puts the mission in jeopardy. He becomes friends with the daughter of the ringleader and makes it hard for Ben to get close to her.

The scheme turns out to be a copy of the crime from the James Bond movie Goldfinger. The person that came up with the scheme , Murray Hill, admits that he copied it exactly.

The plan is to blow up a molybdenum mine in Colorado so the owner of the one in China can corner the molybdenum market.

To be honest, I hate books that force people to mess with people's emotions, like Ben did to the daughter, but in this one, the daughter just acts like it doesn't matter.

I have been reading a lot of Stuart Gibb's series lately. Even though all of them are by the same author the are all different. Every series feels different.

I like this series in particular because it feels realer than the others. Even though it is fiction, I feel as though it could be real in some world.

This is my favorite story in the series because it has my favorite plot, I like the idea that criminal spies take their criminal plots from movies.

I also like how intense the entire book is. It feels as though there is no point in the book where you can put it down.

All in all, this book is very fast paced and fun to read. I recomend reading the other books in the series before you read this.

I thought that this book was another fast paced, exciting mystery in the spy school series. This book was probably the best of the series, and had all of the little things in it that I love about these books, and I turned the pages in it FAST. My only complaint was, along with the last one, that it ended so quickly and abruptly. I thought that the conclusion could be longer, and the same goes for the entire book, but this was still a great read.

Spy Ski School was an okay read, and was a longer read. The book isn't that long but its around 350 pages. The author didn't teach that many life lessons. It was mostly about a spy named Ben Ripley that was trying to gather information about Leo Shang, a Chinese billionaire businessman and potential nefarious mastermind with his sights set on the United States. Ben must befriend Shang’s daughter, Jessica, at ski school, it seems pretty easy enough, but then his best friend from his hometown turns up unexpectedly and inadvertently threatens to ruin the entire plan and blow Ben’s cover. I mostly liked then book because it had skiing involved and a mysterious spy theme. When they got to a hotel in Colorado he had to fight out what bed he slept on and who he had to sleep with. Since the book didn't have very many life lessons it wasn't an amazing read. One part was when Ben had to rent a pair of ski boots and they were very tight on him. One of his teachers asked if he was okay and he said his boots were tight. Then when he started skiing he didn't do very well and it was funny to read about. My favorite part was the ski part I just explained. I would recommend this book to people ho like books about spies and skiing.

Ok first of before you read this book, read the three in the series. It will make the book make alot more sense. Spy Ski School is a well anticipated fourth book in the Spy School Series. I am pretty sure the third book came out a year ago. The protagonist of the story, Ben Ripley has been training to be a C.I.A agent for the past two years at a top secret spy school. He has already been on many missions one of wich, he stoped the evil S.P.Y.D.E.R organization from blowing up N.Y.C! But now a new enemy arises, with the threat of killing millions. He's already erateceted one agent. What is he planing? Find out in this thrilling book. I recommend this book to anyone who likes suspense or very dramatic stories. It made me feel on the edge of my seat. This is a awesome book. I recommend this to anyone who likes suspense or drama.
