Syed Rashad Imam Tanmoy is known for his roles as a cartoonist, graphic novelist
and storyteller. Tanmoy's storytelling journey originated in the domain of editorial
cartooning for numerous esteemed national dailies of Bangladesh.
Tanmoy's comic series, "Rustom Palowan," depicting a local hero, illustrated and written by him, has preserved
widespread affection from children and parents alike, earning its place as a household favorite. Currently,
Tanmoy passionately immerses himself in crafting Bengali fairy tales and fantasy series, aiming to revitalize
these traditional narratives for a new generation of readers in his unique storytelling style, with a vision to take it
to a global scale. Tanmoy's 'Where are the Chonchols?' is a children's book where children can explore 12
vibrant festivals of Bangladesh, filled with colourful illustrations and cultural elements that make learning about
local traditions fun and fascinating. Tanmoy has started publishing chapters of his autobiographical novel,
"Ochin Pakhi," (Strange Bird) that intends to gradually unveil his observations on Bangladesh's socio-political
landscape and reflections on his soul-searching journey. As an author, Tanmoy adeptly navigates between the
realms of fantasy writing and non-fiction.
In 2016, Tanmoy founded Cartoon People, a community fostering young artists and visual storytellers. He also
served as an Associate Editor at UNMAD, a satire magazine. Tanmoy engages in meaningful community work
in his free time, conducting interactive visual storytelling workshops for children in underserved areas, including
Rohingya refugee camps and hill tracts.

বইটা কিনেছিলাম অনেক টা হুট করে। কিনে তক্ষুনি একটা কফি শপে বসে পড়ে ফেলেছিলাম। আবার পড়লাম । পছন্দের বই বারবার পড়তে হয়। অসাধারণ গ্রাফিক রিপ্রেজেন্টেশন। বাংলা ভাষায় এত সুন্দর কমিক বই খুব কম দেখেছি

চমৎকার প্রচেষ্টা ও অাকর্ষণীয় কমিকস- অামাদের গৌরবময় ইতিহাস ও সাহসী ব্যক্তিত্বদের নিয়ে এমন অারো কমিকস সিরিজ বের হওয়া দরকার, এ ধরনের উদ্যোগকে স্বাগত জানাই। (পাঁচ খণ্ড বের হয়েছে, ৬০০ টাকায় কিনে দেড় ঘণ্টায় পড়ে ফেললাম, দামটা হয়তো একটু বেশি ছিল, ব্যাপার না, ভবিষ্যত প্রজন্মের জন্য রেখে দেয়ার মতো জিনিস! :p :))

Illustration টা অনেক সুন্দর হয়েছে। story telling এর ক্ষেত্রে ছোটবেলার মুজিব থেকে কাহিনীগুলো শুরু হওয়ায় আরো ভালো লেগেছে। এবারের বইমেলা থেকে কেনা একটা ভালো বই। বাকি নয়টাও খুব তারাতারি সংগ্রহ করে ফেলবো 😎

একটু বেশিই সংক্ষিপ্ত মনে হল। মূল বই পড়ে এটা পড়তে খাপছাড়া লেগেছে। কমিক বানাতে গিয়ে চোখের অপারেশনের গল্পে ‘আমি সব দেখতে পাচ্ছি’ এসব আইডিয়া হুবহু কপি না করলেও মনে হয় চলতো।

মূল বইটি পড়িনি বলে বুঝতে পারছিনা কতটা সংক্ষেপ করা হয়েছে। আঁকা ও লেখা ভালো লেগেছে। পরের পর্বের টিজার এর সাথে পরের পর্বের কাহিনী মেলাতে হোঁচট খেতে হয়েছে।
