Just when I think I know it all about self-help, I pick up a book like On A Clear Day You Can See Yourself, and I realize there's always more to learn about the authentic me. Dr. Sonya Friedman states it well -- "Nobody ever finishes with their evolutionary process. Beware of people who think they're a finished product. They have allowed something to die in them, no matter how impressive their outer selves may seem." Food for thought...

A book written by a woman for a woman; a woman alone, a woman with a man, a woman who has walked away from a husband, a woman whose husband has walked away from her.

Whatever the situation, the message is a woman's life is her creation and her responsibility.

As a Marriage Celebrant who has conducted myriads of wedding ceremonies, I particularly like this:

'One very common and painful trap many men and women fall into when they get married is that they marry the idea of marriage, they don't really marry a human being at all. Or they marry the life-style certain marriages make possible, with no real thought to the person attached to it.'

As a Celebrant I could add, some brides are so wrapped up in the planning of the wedding day that they seem to forget that the husband is not an option decoration that disappears at the end of the day with the props and the wrapping paper.

If life is not what you'd like it be, instead of blaming it on your parents, your children, your colleges, your circumstances and life generally, the author suggests you look closer to home - yourself.
