Letters From Morgantown, Book 1

Stalked and taunted by the man who murdered her father in cold blood, seventeen-year-old Sydney Easterling’s life is in grave danger. Under the surveillance of the Witness Protection Program, she’s ordered to seek refuge in a small-town B&B—far away from everything she’s ever known. Scared, mourning, and now faced with a world of deception and lies, Sydney struggles to adjust to a new life in Morgantown.

But then she finds comfort in a stranger...

Bonding with Chris wasn’t something she’d bargained for, but close proximity to the young and handsome B&B owner has them spending a lot of time together. And when he awakens her heart to things she’s never felt before, Sydney has no choice but to ignore her budding feelings for Chris. She can’t fall in love. Not now. She’s hurt, scared, and determined to protect the lies that will keep her safe. Chris is a distraction, and one she can’t afford. But what if he cares too much to let her retreat?

With Christmas around the corner, Sydney’s stuck drowning in the fears that consume her, and Chris takes advantage of the joyous season—to prove once and for all that there’s light, love, and hope in even the darkest of days.

In the back of my mind I've always wondered if Tracie Puckett would ever write more of a suspense story; the Just a Little series had elements of suspense, and they were so well done, I hoped to see more of this side of Tracie. Running Scared did not disappoint! I was intrigued from the beginning, running from chapter to chapter. Running Scared kept me wondering, and while there are still things I'm anticipating, it was an excellent story.

I really sympathized with Sydney, and enjoyed the diverse cast of characters. Tracie Puckett is so good at creating believable, flawed characters.

Finally, I rooted for Sydney and Chris really hard! Their relationship builds slowly as Syd learns to trust him. These two are so cute together. Chris is the sweetest!

I'm more than looking forward to the next book in this series.

Tracie Puckett has been a guilty pleasure of mine for about a little over a year now. I read and enjoyed her "Little" series and was waiting patiently for her next book. After delay after delay it finally came out and I gobbled it right up. This is a YA suspense story in my opinion and looks like it is going to be it's own series. I would definitely recommend it and hope that book 2 isn't going to take forever to be able to get.

What a really good read. The story line kept you on your toes, wondering what might happen next and trying to figure out the bad guy, love stories like this that keep you. Wanting more. I am so looking forward to the next book. The characters become almost real to you. This little lady writes a fine book. Bring on some more. Thank you for such a good read

Not bad but a little dull. Felt like it was a prequel to the series rather than the starter. Could've been quite a bit shorter, and still read fine. And I really wish we'd gotten he Hero's point of view.

Love this author

I really like this author. I wish this book wasn't a cliff hanger. But I would definitely recommend it. The story is good and the writing is good...I will read on.
