Three brothers. One mating ritual. Equals one night of sexy fun...
August Hawthorne was a strictly by the book kind of a shifter. Steadfast, serious, and knowing exactly where his life was headed. Until the day Jackson Rose stumbled into his bar looking for a job.
The sexy siren soon turns his world upside down and makes him question everything he ever thought he knew, like maybe for the first time breaking his own rules and choosing who to be with rather than let instinct control him any longer. He’s got one year to decide, or he risks losing everything he never knew he wanted and cannot live without…
Selene Charles is the pen name of a NY Times and USA Today bestselling author.
She is an avid penguin sweater knitter. She believes that unicorns really do exist and that skittles aren't really candy at all. She enjoys skydiving in the arctic, chatting with her polar bear friends around a warm campfire while sipping on warm cocoa, and she used to work in a travelling carnival which is where she got all these crazy ideas from. Only two of these statements are actually true.

In this second book of the series, we follow August Hawthorne, the middle brother of the family. Who is Jackson Rose? What happens one day when August is working at the bar, and is on the floor kneeling down with his upper body underneath it? I had to laugh long and hard about that one. What is Jackson Rose? Watching her affect August so quickly and thoroughly was funny. I find myself really liking Madison as well. There was mention of her in Chance's book, but now I've learned more about her. It makes more sense and makes me laugh thinking back to it. Watching the two of them before the Ritual that the boys are about to perform in a few months is like...just...wow. When Jackson tells August she will be moving in two months, what happens? You're going to have to read this book to see what happens after August has his ritual. It was a lot of fun to read.
When a Siren, Jackson, moves to Alaska for a new life, she never expected to fall in love with a bear shifter who is destined to find his mate in an age old ritual.
The bears are back - and this time it's August's story!
August has always been the serious brother. The responsible one. So when he decided that he wasn't willing to hurt someone by dating them & leaving for another after his mating ritual, he thought it best just to stay single. And it was going (mostly) fine until a sexy Siren came looking for a job. Now he can't get her out of his head. But he has to stay strong, no matter how often he wishes differently.
The last thing Jackson Rose ever expected when she came to town looking for work was to find the hottest Grizzly she's ever seen, especially after the disastrous way she left her last town. But that's only the tip of the iceberg, because he's only a few months away from his mating ritual & she can't stop thinking about him. And he's not willing to start something he can't finish. Which is a shame because unlike most Sirens, she wants forever with someone - and that someone is the grumpy Grizzly that makes her burn...
As I said in my review of CHANCE (book 1), I'm not usually a reader of shifter stories. But I have to admit that so far, these little novellas have been thoroughly entertaining. I can't wait to read PHOENIX!
Book two in the series. August is a serious, honest, stand up type of guy waiting for his centuries old mating ritual to arrive. He knows that the earth magick will choose his mate, so it would be unwise to become attached to any woman in the interim. Then Jackson Rose the alluring siren walks into his bar! The story plays off largely in Augusts’ bar, the Junk Yard , which caters to the Breed. The story starts about 1 year before the mating ritual and culminates in August’s mate being revealed to him. The author alludes to bother Phoenix’s mate in book one and in book 2 we meet this colourful lady! I can’t wait for their story to be published. The story, although well told and passionate did not entrance me to the same extent as Chance’s story. It is however still an excellent read, ideal for a quiet afternoon alone, and a must read as part of the trilogy, part 3 still to come.
Such a heartbreaking story! To forbid yourself to love because you have a fate to fulfill... and to fall in love with someone you absolutely can't have... it has all the makings of a tragedy and I read holding my breath, couldn't put the book down right to the end. Once again Selene Charles draws us in a world full of special characters, with flaws and so loveable, with weaknesses and so strong, weaves a lovestory full of suspense and romance and side characters you want to know more about. I already know all about the first brother - now I need to read everything there is to brother number three!
Check out the other books in the Mating Fever series. They are from different authors, so each has a special spin - you won't be disappointed (at least I wasn't).
The story of August and Jackson. A Grizzly and a Siren. Jackson made the mistake of falling in love with another siren and got her heart broken. Actually she was already a broken siren. They are supposed to be the love em and leave em type but she is capable of love unlike her fellow sirens. She moves to a new town and lands a job at August's bar the Junk Yard. Instantly attracted to each other they get themselves into a whole lot of mess when they give into their instincts. She decides to leave town while he decides to forgo the mating ritual he has been doing every year with his brothers. This is a great fast paced sinfully sexy short story and you don't have to read the first in the series they can be read as stand alones.
Anything you'll pick up from this author is going to be a hit!!
August, a bear shifter, knows that he will be undergoing a mating ritual soon. He doesn't want to get involved with anyone only to forget them after the ceremony. This was easily until a sexy siren walked into his bar.
Jackson is a beautiful siren who is trying to get away from her past mistakes. She walks meets August and the attraction is immediate. They only problem he is determined to keep things platonic until he finds his true mate... even though both of them are irresistibly drawn to each other.
This is the 2nd brother in Selene Charles "Mating Fever" series. The chemistry between August and Jackson heats up the pages in this paranormal romance. Selene makes the reader feel as if they know the characters and you find yourself unable to put the book down until the last page. I highly recommend this book as an excellent read!
This is the 2nd book in Selenes Charles Mating Fever series and It is just as good if not better than the first (Chance). It is perfectedly understandable as a stand alone read but should you want to read the series, then know that they tie in well with relative overlaps matching as they should.
I don't do spoilers but this is well worth a read, It is very much within the shifters mating fever genre but has a beautiful love story expertly woven right there where it should be. You'll feel and hurt and be frustrated right along side.
This is the 2nd book in Selenes Charles Bears of Kodiak series. It is a great shifter book with a twist. August is a bear shifter, Jackson is a siren. From the moment Jack walks into the bar that August owns he can't get her out of his head. There is an instant attraction for both of them. The problem is that Sirens are supposed to be the love em and leave em kind. And August has his mating ritual coming up. Which means that they can't be together...or can they? This is a great series. A must read.
I am not usually into bear shifters, that being said I thoroughly enjoyed this read. August and Jackson were a fun couple to get to know. August, the quiet and brooding male, just my style, and Jackson, the fiery, flirty siren, their romance was endearing. I loved Jackson's epiphany that led them to find a way to remain in each other's lives, and the ending was perfect. A good read if your looking for a quick romance to brighten up your reading list.
August knew he had to do the ritual , Jackson was not supposed to be able to fall in love , her kind did not do that. When the two get together they both fall hard and fast , when it comes time to do the ritual she knows he has to but hopes she is his one. She is packed and ready to leave, but keeps looking in the hopes she is his chosen. It is OK to hope right?
Loved this book!! It is the second of a 3 part series and they just keep getting better and better. It's a love story between a werebear and a siren. And it is an excellent story! How they meet.. Things that are going on in their lives. Will they end up together or will they part ways? You have to read the book to find out! Another winner by Selene Charles!
I'm mad that she slept with Blue, she wasn't supposed to sleep with him. Madison is just a bitter old dragon lol. I loved there story and it was just as good as the first one.
