The Temptation Trap, Alexa Wilder's long-awaited follow-up to The Wedding Rescue and The Courtship Maneuver, is finally available as a complete series. For the first time you can read all five books in one volume! Emma Wright is in over her head. Three months ago her life was perfect: amazing job, shiny new MBA, great friends. When her job turns into a nightmare overnight, Emma feels like her life is going down the tubes. The only bright spot is her hot new boyfriend. He’s the man of her wildest dreams; sexy, smart, sweet, and a master of her body between the sheets. He can't seem to get enough of her full-figured curves, so it's too bad she's starting to think he’s keeping dangerous secrets.
Axel Sinclair likes control. At work, at home, in bed. He gets what he wants, and he never loses. Not until he meets Emma Wright, and she turns his well-ordered life upside down. Emma was supposed to be a job - getting his hands all over her luscious body was only a bonus. Before he knows it, Axel is in deep.
Axel is sure Emma’s guilty as hell. Can he do his job and bring her down? Or will he follow his heart and claim her for his own?
EXCERPT: Emma Wright was becoming a problem. She was supposed to be a job. An easy job. Get close to her, find evidence that she was selling confidential data to a competitor. Get paid a ton of money. How hard could it be? She was the head of Human Resources at a shipping company, not Mata Hari. This kind of thing was the bread and butter of Sinclair Security. I figured I’d take the meeting and pass the case to one of my guys. Then I got a good look at Emma Wright. Fiery red hair, creamy skin, abundant curves, and clear blue eyes with a wicked glint. She was irresistible. Luscious, soft, and more than a handful in all the right places. The moment I saw her picture, I knew I’d be handling her myself. Sleeping with the suspect wasn’t usually my MO, but in this case, I was prepared to make an exception. Normally, my approach was to get the evidence, give it to the client, close the case, and cash the check. Not with Emma. Getting her into bed wasn’t the hard part. Neither was pretending to be her lover. But Emma was tricky. She was smart. Funny. Gorgeous. And surprisingly kinky. Deliciously kinky. I’d never admit it, but it’s possible I was taking my time on the case just to have an excuse to keep her in my bed.
Ivy Layne has had her nose stuck in a book since she first learned to decipher the English language. Sometime in her early teens, she stumbled across her first Romance, and the die was cast. Though she pretended to pay attention to her creative writing professors, she dreamed of writing steamy romance instead of literary fiction. These days, she’s neck deep in alpha heroes and the smart, sexy women who love them.
Married to her very own alpha hero (who rubs her back after a long day of typing, but also leaves his socks on the floor). Ivy lives in the mountains of North Carolina where she and her other half are having a blast raising two energetic little boys. Aside from her family, Ivy’s greatest loves are coffee and chocolate, preferably together.

The hero completely USES the heroine for the first 1/4th of the book, then he handcuffs her, drags her into danger, and just leaves her there--all without listening to her cries. He was a goddamn asshole.
When he finally realizes his mistake, he determines to win the heroine back--and of course she makes it easy on him! ARE YOU F**KING KIDDING ME?! The man betrayed her, used her body, LIED TO HER FOR THREE WEEKS, and then ARRESTED HER! And she falls right back into his bed two chapters later?!
OMG. I wanted to slap the SHIT out of her.
I WANTED to believe that this book got better, but it didn't. I pushed on as far as I could go, but I lost total interest at 80%.
I have a real hard time with this installment. He takes the case as an excuse to sleep with her. Drugs her before sex to make sure she doesn’t wake up while he searches her place, but drug is drug, and then when he decides that she’s guilty hits her with the door. I don’t buy that it was an accident. He leaves her with the bad guy, even after she asks to call the FBI. Come on. That has to sound strange enough to make the call. He leaves her with the bad guys long enough for her to get gropes and then when he’s with her again, with full knowledge of what happened to her, gets in bed with her and touches her while she’s still asleep unable to consent. The next time she has sex he decides to tie her up. The day before she had been tied up with a guy that wanted to rape her; this is romantic? And her response to him makes no sense. She should freak and reject him. I feel like the author had an idea but didn’t brother to think it through. This is just so awkward and bad. I don’t want him to get the girl at all.
This could have been a very good book but I cannot understand how Emma could so easily forgive Alex for his deception. Also, there is a scene where Alex takes advantage of Emma barely being awake to initiate sex and, considering this takes place nearly immediately after a traumatic experience, is incredibly distasteful. How the author thinks Emma embodies a smart, strong woman is beyond me and Alex is bordering on emotionally abusive only interested in his own desires. Very disappointed.
Axel and Emma have what is required to make this an adventurous read with ups, downs, ins, and outs. All in more way than one. Take one section at a time and make this a read that will relax the body just before a grand night of sleep and very pleasant dreams.
Temptation Trap Book 1- This book is sexy as sin, and super mysterious. I was hooked immediately. AND super psyched because this is Axel’s story –and we met Axel when he was a supporting character in “The Wedding Rescue” trilogy. This is the follow up to the The Wedding Rescue and The Courtship Maneuver.. Axel Sinclair is a security expert and in this story we catch him in the as he is working undercover. He is trying to catch someone giving away company secrets. The person the company thinks is doing it, Axel is having a hard time believing it – the company believes it is Emma Wright, Human Resource Manager for the company. Axel finds he is super attracted to her , and the animal attraction he finds to her makes it doubly hard to do his job but does it he does. Axel gives Emma a fake name and he tells her he is Adam . Poor Emma, she is so confused and in turmoil right now. Her job is seriously tanking because her boss is bad things involving the Russian mob, the FBI is talking to her regarding her boss and they want her to help them take her boss down and now in the middle of all this craziness she has met a really hot man… I felt soo bad for Emma because she really deserved something good to go her way…She is such a great person. Axel/Adam is a great guy but has the wrong impression about her. This book is about wrong impressions but the sex is HOT. Here he is, knowing she is possibly a criminal and he is still sleeping with her. There are twists and the ending is a real turn …This book ends on a cliffhanger. I cannot wait to see what happens in book 2. I really hope Axel and Emma can be together and get their HEA soon.
My rating: 4.5 stars ****
Temptation Trap Book 2- WOW! There was some serious stuff going on in this book. Axel brings the book down on Emma and she is in shock. She isn’t the evil person like her boss has made her out to be. But Axel refuses to hear Emma out and takes her in and ends up taking her directly to her boss…there are some serious bad juju going on with Emma’s boss going on. Emma tries to tell Axel she can explain things and there is more to her that what he sees and that she is working for the FBI and certain agencies and to please call the agent in charge…he refuses. Things get heated and Emma gets hurt under Axel’s watch…he didn’t mean to hurt her but it happens. Emma is turned over to her boss and then the real terror begins. Emma is threatened, hurt under her boss while Axel starts to think about what Emma says…let’s say he has a moment where the light comes on and he makes a call…after that, Axel goes to get back Emma… There is action and adventure, heat and anger, angst and sexual tension –this story has it all. I cannot wait to what happens next as the story ends on a cliffhanger. Axel and Emma really will keep you hooked on this story with their interaction with each other and I am dying to know the outcome of what Emma’s boss is up to and why he wants her silenced. This story has it all. I cannot wait for the next book in this series.
My rating: 4.8 stars *****
Temptation Trap Book 3- Things are just getting even more intense in this book. Emma is now under Axel's protective care and she is not sure if she trusts him or if she should get the heck out of dodge as the old saying goes. Emma feels so betrayed but as of right now, Axel is her only bet. Things between Axel and Emma slowly start to get to an even page when Emma is shot. That is when we find out there is a mole –Axel then is threatened by the FBI that they are going to take Emma from him. Things have really gotten bad because if they take her from him, she is surely dead and that sounds like that is the plan all along. In this book, we are starting to get a picture but of what- possibly who the mole is, or who else wants Emma dead besides Harper & Tsepov? Oh and the sexual chemistry is STILL there between Emma and Axel. Just because he lied to her and accidently betrayed her doesn’t mean those feelings go away. I cannot wait until book 4 to see what is next in this exciting series.
My Rating: 4.5 stars ****
Temptation Trap Book 4- OMG! This story literally blew up. In this, Emma and Axel has been taken by the FBI to a safe house. Also they have been kept away in a bland safe house. Yuck, I feel so bad for Emma. Her whole life is so torn up when all she was trying to do was the right thing. At least Axel is with her. Now in this book, we are able to find out who , at least a pretty good idea, who the mole aka rat is that is trying to take out Emma and Axel. Also Axel’s brother comes to the safe house and is able to provide some backup. But the safe house ‘s location is comprised and the team guarding Emma are killed and the house set on fire—Emma, Axel and Axel’s brother Evers barely make it out alive. This ended on a doozy of a cliffhanger. What happens next? Where can they go since it seems not only is the Russian Mob after them but the mole is working with the mob to kill Emma, Axel and now Evers. When is a girl gonna catch a break? I loved the pace of this book and the action of this story. Emma and Axel didn’t know whether they were coming or going but Axel was going to die to keep Emma safe. I appreciated knowing more about this mole and the suspense in this story was at a good high in this story. I would have liked alittle more passion but can understand why there was less in this story. I cannot wait for the next installment in this story.
My rating: 4.7 stars *****
Temptation Trap 5--The final book in the Temptation Trap series was filled with action, suspense, romance and passion. It had me on the edge of my seat and OMG, it was so full of OH WOW moments. This was the best ending for the book and worth waiting for. Axel and Emma are on the run , trying to figure out who is wanting her dead and there is a mole in the FBI so they really cannot depend on them and the Russian Mob wants her dead which started the whole story. Last we saw on this story, Axel sent Emma away for her protection with a Sinclair friend, Evers, and that about broke Emma’s heart. She was devastated but understood. She ends up getting her friend Summer to safety with her so the mob couldn’t touch her and OH did the sparks fly between Evers and Summer. Suddenly Axel shows up and surprises his love –they end up heading to Vegas where they end up moving into together in his place—it is beautiful on how they come to the place where he gets her to move in with him. There are some HUGE TWISTS and turns coming up and something that I didn’t see coming but the ending is so sweet and I love Axel and Emma together. Saw a couple previous characters from the authors other books in this book. Love the cast of supporting characters –Would Love to see a book re: Jacob Meyers or a story on Evers and Summer— Alpha Male Axel and his Lady Love Emma led us on a fantastic journey and the danger and suspense in this story was amplified by the passion and love shown by this couple. Their jounrney was awesome and I cant wait to see what’s next by this author.
My rating: 5.0 stars *****
*A gifted copy was provided the author for my honest review*
Totally unrealistic plot. It could have been brilliant, but I was angry at how ridiculous it was in places.
Emma is dating Adam, who is really Axel undercover. Axel is employed by Emma’s boss, to catch her selling details of his company. 1st mistake: Emma works for a logistics company, not a weapons manufacturer!!! Emma is actually working with the F.B.I to catch her boss, who is working with the Russian mafia.
When he finds the evidence of her supposed guilt, he goes to handcuff Emma, she runs into the bedroom, he shoves the door open into her face!! She’s bleeding from her nose, begging him to phone the F.B.I to confirm her story. 2nd mistake: He’s a super security expert. When Emma is giving him details of the F.B.I case against her boss, he doesn’t try to find out if she’s telling the truth. Instead he hands her over to her boss who is going to sell her to a whorehouse!! I actually hated him at this point!! 😡😡😡
So after Axel has handed her over, he then verifies that she’s telling the truth. Yeah he’s really not that great at his job! Emma is rescued after being hit in the nose again. She wakes up next to Axel and he practically forces her to have sex with him, so he can show her how good they are. Erm personally I’d kick him in his nuts after what he’s done. But she has sex with him!! 3rd mistake: After being hit in the nose twice, her nose and face would be agony the next day, and her nose would be full of dried blood. She wouldn’t be able to give him a blow hob as she wouldn’t be able to breathe, and she would be in a lot of pain and wouldn’t be up to having sex! No painkillers are offered to her, no doctor sees her as she could have a broken nose. Axel never really apologises for what he did.
It just gets even more silly after that!! It’s such a shame as the plot sounded brilliant. Hated Axel as he’s just an arse who thinks he can do what he wants, and Emma is supposed to feel grateful??? Emma always feels like she’s not good enough for Axel as she’s curvy. Not model thin. The whole way through the book it’s this massive issue with her being curvy. Sigh….. For an amazing security expert, Axel makes mistake after mistake with Emma’s safety.
Not a bad story. Axel is a real turd at the beginning but he redeems himself pretty early on. In fact, there isn't much conflict in the relationship after that. Most of the plot is pretty unbelievable but the characters are fun and interesting. The last part was a little slow but picked up near the end.
My one complaint? The cover is terrible. The model and his Jr High beard looks like a metrosexual. Not like the tough awesome Alpha security specialist and former military man. I just imagined my own Axel as I read.
Unlike the first two books in this series, where the women were too stupid to live, in this book, the man is an idiot and liar. I really couldn’t believe that Emma stayed with him after she realized he was only sleeping with her in order to spy on her.
I don’t want to get over this guy starting off as a douche. I don’t feel like there’s anywhere to go from here when they’re starting me off with him tricking her and sleeping with her at the same time.
"ut Emma was tricky. She was smart. Funny. Gorgeous. And surprisingly kinky. Deliciously kinky. I’d never admit it, but it’s possible I was taking my time on the case just to have an excuse to keep fucking her."
Looks like!e Axel is going to be the next one to fall.
“Please, please, Adam. Call Agent Tierney with the Vegas office of the FBI. Please don't leave me here and walk away. If you do I'm going to disappear. Harper’s trafficking girls with the Russian mob, and you can't leave me here. Please don't leave me. Call Agent Tierney. Please."
Gosh, Axe lis such monster, delivering an innocent woman I to sex trafficking because he refuses to get his head out of his own ass.
"I’d said Emma was mine, and she was. But with the lies swept away from our relationship, I was learning all the ways that I was Emma’s, whether she wanted me or not. I belonged to her, and she to me. I just had to keep her safe long enough to prove it."
I strongly believe that Emma should have let Axel beg a bit longer.
"I've never felt as good about my body as I did with Axel. Though I was mostly confident about my curvy shape, it was hard to really love my body in a world dominated by models and movie stars who were little more than skin and bones."
Axel may be making Emma feel good about herself while losing himself in her. However, they are both on edge as to who the leak is. Is it her FBI handler, someone else in the FBI, or one of the criminals.
"By the time they brought me home, Emma had been securely adopted into the Sinclair fold. It was a good thing, since she’d be marrying me as soon as I could manage a wedding."
Another one bites the dust.

First couple chapters of the book was like waiting for a train wreck to happen but you can't look away. My first reaction of Axel was and then I couldn't wait to learn all about Emma and what was her deal. She was a kickass h! Sweet and feisty and doing the best that she could in a difficult situation. I only wish she had made Axel grovel more (meanwhile it was great to get his pov so you know how much he regretted his actions). Still though...woman make him earn it!! lol When Axel ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
I stumbled upon Ivy Layne's books by accident through kindle-unlimited and she is now one of my favorite authors. This is one of my favorite books and I am now moving on to the Scandals of the Bad Boy Billionaires Book Series. It's difficult to give a synopsis of the story without giving some of it away. Emma stumbles upon unethical and downright criminal transactions at her job and starts to gather information to hand over to the authorities. Axel was hired by the company to stop what he believes is corporate espionage. However all is not all it seems. I absolutely loved that Emma is a strong independent woman and thinks ahead and protects herself. I can't wait to see what happens with her friend Summer and Axel's brother.
I hadn’t planned on reading Axel’s story, at least not this quickly. I figured I knew enough from the Sinclair and Winters saga. They touched on what happened with Emma and Axel so I never felt the need or rush to read his story. I was even considering skipping it altogether because I knew what happened. To me, this wouldn’t have been worth it to read if the whole book wasn’t a surprise to me. It kind of ruins the whole story. In some cases, it did when I picked this up. However, when I started this series I didn’t expect to be put right back into the world of the Winters and Sinclair’s. I thought Axel would be a side character in this series, little did I know this would shape the Sinclair, Winters and Sawyer’s Bend series which is on my list but down the line. This set the stage for an ongoing fight between the Russian mob, family secrets and discovering more things about the families. I think this is, full circle one of the only other series I’ve read that had so many different spinoffs from it, aside from the Dufort Dynasty, Alpha series, Winslows and Boston Billionaires. Anyway, this was a crazy ride. This book was the best out of the three and it’s because most of the action happened in this one. You get betrayal, danger, passion, love and rediscovering the meaning of trust. My only complaints about this book is that it started off in the midst of Axel’s investigation and in seducing Emma instead of starting from the beginning from the moment her case landed on Axel’s desk. I would have wanted to read about this and his strategies, plus his first thoughts upon meeting her and setting the stage for a long investigation and dangerous situation. It covers how Emma got caught up in it, but not Axel. Emma had straight up background, how she wound up investigating for the FBI, essentially what led to her looking guilty in Axel’s eyes since she started off as just a job for him. It didn’t showcase the how and why for Axel. On top of that, I did feel like this book did drag out a bit and it got monotonous after a while. If it wasn’t for all that stuff, I may have given this a 5. I just felt bored somewhere between the middle and at the end of the book. There was a lot of waiting it out and chapters where nothing happened, just Emma and her thoughts or Axel and his thoughts. It felt a little standstill at this time. However, what warranted a high 4 rating was what I mentioned earlier. The action, uncertainty, danger, passion, need and emotion that was felt throughout the book. I did feel like I was a part of the action, watching all of this play out. I was in on secrets, what was going on and Axel’s plans. It was a good book that for me, closes out the Sinclair’s and Winters storylines even though by order, this is where it begins. I look forward to eventually learning about Griffen, his family and the little town he’s from, stepping away from the Russian mob, Sinclair’s and Winters.
This was my favorite of the 3 books. It was mysterious, exciting and extremely sexy. I loved all 3 of the sassy, intelligent, curvy women, these alphas fell for, but Emma was the first one that didn’t make decisions that made me want to slap her. She handled herself so well, I was proud of her. I read this series because I read the first book in a connected series, about Evers and Summer, not knowing there were other books I should have read first. It became obvious quickly that I was missing a great deal of information, so I looked into it and decided to back track. I wish that it had been clearly indicated as now I have about a million more books to read about the Sinclair’s before I can continue the series I originally started, but at the same time I’m glad I read Ever and Summer’s book, as it led me to all of these that I may not have discovered otherwise. These characters are all so lovable, I wouldn’t have wanted to miss it!
Axel thought this was going to be an easy job. Set the trap, seduce her through the opening and close the door as he walked away. It was a job like others before it. That she was good in bed was just a side benefit. However, things weren’t coming together as smoothly as they should have. He was seriously questioning her guilt until he found the encrypted files.
Emma couldn’t believe someone like him would really be interested in her but for all this time his attention had never strayed. He was a dream, too good to be true. It wasn’t perfect, she had questions and suspicions but never would she have thought he would do something like this! All she could think was that all her work, time and fear was for nothing. He refused to listen when she tried to explain. What did she expect? She didn’t really know him .
‘The Temptation Trap’ is book 3 ofThe Billionaire Club series and well worth your time!
For someone working special ops and investigations he is extremely stupid. So stupid that when her option is to go into FBI protection or stay with him and he boasts about what he has backing him, and then she's safer with him. Obviously not, all the things he had backing him did not help him not even think or realize that he was working for a criminal. Especially after she blatantly told him.
Later that night she lets him tie her up. She trusts him!?!?!?! Author needed to include a gratuitous bdsm scene but it was so inappropriately written at the wrong time. Bdsm requires trust and there was none at this point.
There is no believable or fathomable way that this MMC would be special ops or doing what he is allegedly doing in this book, career rise. He was so stupid with no intuition.
The characters Ivy Layne created are so realistic...
I love ALL of Ivy Layne's characters, except the ones we're not supposed to like, they're believable yet exceptional. But I must admit that I have two favorite pairs. Summer & Evers not only melt my Kindle Fire, they also melt my heart. But Axel & Emma's story edged ahead as my all time favorite. Charlie & Lucas found out my top 3. I still have to read the rest of the Untangled series as well as the Covington Billionaires 6 book series, but they're standings are pretty solid. I can only hope that Ivy Layne would finish the last 2 Untangled books sooner than expected. Thank you for all the great reads, I'm looking forward to many many more!!!
Axel and Emma are great together. This story had great chemistry and brought in a lot of characters from ILs other books. The backstory is well developed and ties in the villain from the other stories as well, but with that said you can read this book as a stand-alone. Lots of hot scenes, but also a lot of dialogue and interaction between family, friends, work and the bad guys! Love how Emma was a strong character even when handling events outside of her wheelhouse. Hope to see more of Axels family and see why Summer has that weird look when questioned about her last name and relatives 😋😎
Overall opinion: Decent but it was almost a, DNF. The H is what nearly killed the sort for me followed by the h just moved forward. This story, however, was better than the last one.
Brief Summary: No need to expand on the author's summary.
Narrator(s) Decent
POV: both
Overall Pace: medium
Instalove: Hard to say
H Rating: first 70% of the story - ugh and the last 30% good!
In the narration of the audible it kept saying Jacob Myers instead of Jacob winters think that's not very fun when you're reading it in a kept missing parts of the book when you had to follow along it would skip to another phrase that would be my only negative thing about the series is that they need to be more careful that the narrator of the book was saying Myers instead of winters my bread all the other books that I know that it's a good series I like all of them as little disappointed when the narrator kept saying Myers instead of Jacob winters
lex is hired to watch a woman named Emma. Her boss hired him telling Alex that Emma is working for a competitor. Alex tells her his name is Adam, but the longer he's with her he wants to believe she's not guilty but the proof was shown to him. When he catches her he doesn't believe her side of the story. He gives her to her boss. Emma was contacted by the FUN to bust her boss. When Alex knows the truth he has to win her heart back cause he truly loves her. Can she look over the lies and see why he did. Great story.
I have read all 3 and this one I will say hands down was my fave. I love me some smutty romance lately, and this is by far the most smutty. It starts out with a lie, they are both hiding something, and its crazy how it all goes. I loved how their story got straight to the point, and there was not stopping it. Axel and Emma were a match made in heaven, they were just so perfect and passionate it was wild, I had to stop reading at times just so I can prolong their story, that didn't work, lol. The steam is STEAMY STEAMY STEAM, which is perfect aside from their amazing romance.
Wow! This book really packs a serious romantic punch and a few other ons a well. From start to finish there isn’t one dull moment. And just when you think things might be settling down….. WHAM! the next punch hits you!!! It’s a great ride for Emma and Axel a they journey through trial after trial but thank goodness come out on top in the end. Their story is one very well deserved HEA!!!
Axel starts out at the bottom, but makes his way to the top...
From jerk, to Romeo... By the end of the story, you can't help but adore him. The story moves through mystery and intrigue. Danger peeks around every corner, and life hangs by a thread. Just part of a normal day for a Sinclair of Sinclair Security. This isn't the first time I've read this story, and won't be the last. A favorite on my book shelf...
Ivy Lane is a brilliant writer. Her stories are so thrilling and mind blowing. Every one of her books are so action packed with so much chemistry between her characters. Exciting and spellbinding wouldn't do her justice. This book is a real page turner with so many twists and turns that will keep you up all night, still leaving you wanting more. Definitely Recommend Reading
Adel was on an assignment to uncover a thief, stealing company secrets. Emma was enjoying her time with the very handsome 'Adam', who appeared during her cookery class. She didn't realise that Adam was monitoring her, she did know that the sexual attraction between them was scorching. They discover that they are both working undercover but from different sides, which puts Emma into a very dangerous situation.

I love all these books however I had a hard time with this one. The story line was great but being that there was complete control of a partner during sex is a little unsettling to me. It took me longer to finish this one but I wanted to know the ending... and it didn't disappoint.
