A somewhat meta take on canon, continuity and the damning seep of cynicism into the DC Universe. I didn't care for the overall execution of Infinite Crisis (Crisis on Infinite Crisis is a superhero classic, in my opinion), but this was a good set-up.

Escalation of stakes is an important trope in the superhero genre, but evolution never is.
