Young and in love, Scottish lass Vivi Campbell exchanged a gypsy coin for a lock of hair and rushed to share the treasure with the one she’d pledged her love to.
But a young man’s laughter twisted her love to hate and she cursed him with the coin instead, binding him to her for eternity.
After almost three hundred years of haunting Culloden Moor, Cade the Cursed is charged with a good deed, only to discover he’d not been sent alone. The Scottish lass he’d yearned for unwittingly died with him and is promised a second chance as well.
Can they stop a murder, let old hurts go, and find love again? Or are they doomed to recreate past mistakes?

When Cade laughs at Vivienne's plea for his love, she tosses a gypsy coin at him, cursing him to love her always, but never have her. After leaving Culloden Moor, and temporarily freed from his existence as a ghost, Cade thinks that he will do a good deed and move onto the afterlife. Instead, he is given the chance to see Vivi again. Together they set off to perform an act of heroism. And Cade sets out to win Vivi's heart. I loved this story of young love, magic, and second chances. The modern setting was fun, and I loved Vivi's reaction to modern fashions. I also loved how dedicated Cade was to Vivi. For someone who was thoughtless as a teenager, he sure made up for it with his openness and honesty as an adult.
Content: clean (some kissing, mild violence, no language)
This is a second chance at love story. At sixteen, Vivienne is deeply in love with Cade. She purchases a coin from a gypsy, one that will bind him to her, if he loves her. She goes in search of Cade, and though she believes he loves her, she tries to pull the words out of him. Unsuccessfully. Hurt, she throws the coin at him, along with a curse - that he'll love her always and never have her.
Cade dies on a battlefield five years later. With the coin around his neck, his last thoughts are of Vivienne and the regret he's carried with him. After almost three centuries as a ghost, he is given another chance to live - for two days - with the assignment to do a good deed.
He finds Vivienne, also alive again. In their short time together he needs to win her heart back, one that is still hurt and wary. Vivienne wonders if Cade's feelings are truly his own, or if her curse made him fall in love with her and bound him to her. They find their good deed, though it's a huge bother. And dangerous. It's like they entered a real-life murder mystery party. Each doesn't want to die before their short time together is up.
I love the Scottish brogue and the playful banter between these two Highlanders. How they interpret the modern world adds an element of fun. Really cute.
This one had just as much action but I skipped over alot of it. I am not fond of any kind of jealous thoughts or behaviors told in a story. I don't know why exactly, I just don't care to read about it. So this One, 1,One!, book , kind of threw me for a loop as I love Diane Darcy as an author.
This has been my least favorite of the series thus far. I found it to be woefully mawkish and repetitive. It was short enough to read through to the end, but I admit, I was relieved to have done with it.
When they were young, he laughed and jokes with his friends while she took her love for him more seriously. Centuries later they met again with a chance to love again thanks to the witch. They had to save someone first. But who?
This was so romantic, it almost became boring. But the action and near death experiences made up for the lack of dialog between the main characters. It all ended well.
Okay I'm not a fan of this story even though it's #17. Vivian is in love with Cade but he makes funny of her (so she thinks) and she storms off in a rage after she throws a gypsy coin at him that bounds them together. Well Cade dies in the battle regretting the fact that he never went after that day and apologized. His time comes up with Soni and she sends him to the present day Vivian who has just awakened from a coma. See how he reclaim their love. It was okay.

Love these short stories about the second chances of the 79 Scottish ghosts haunting Culloden Moor. The ghost, Cade, gets a second chance at life (for 2 days) and must do a good deed proving himself worthy to receive his reward...will he choose to get his revenge on the bonny prince or win back a love he thought he lost forever
Diane Darcy is known for telling a good story and this is no exception. However, the multiple editing errors in this text most definitely got in the way. I really expect to see "few to no errors" in a book this length. Unfortunately, there were so many it was bothersome. I know these stories are being generated quickly, but please take the time to find someone to carefully proofread.
I said it before and I will say it again. I just LOVE these books! A great series with a unique premise that is thoroughly enjoyable! Can't wait for the next one!
