In prison for common assault, Bryn is surprised to get a small alien visitor who offers her a life on a new world. She agrees on the condition that she gets a pardon.
On the way to her new home, there is an attack, and Bryn finds out what she is made of. It scares the hell out of her.
Surat knows that he is getting a warrior in the Lrrko Bride he is caring for. Until he is unable to help her, he has no idea that she is a born survivor. She returns to him damaged but alive.
Now, she needs to deal with the aftereffects of her actions. No pardon is forthcoming.
I liked this short story well enough but if I hadn't read the other short stories set in this arc of the series, I would not have as most elements of the tale were underdeveloped.
The heroine has rage issues which is interesting. The love story is underdone.
This started with Bryn slightly disturbed and in prison for beating up a football. Player who attempted to assault someone. She is intelligent, funny and lethal. She progresses with help from her familiar and finds out life can get better with friends and family .Her sense of humor and intelligence shines thru out the book and it ends well. Luckily the author is a much better writer than I am and that is why I love her books.
Another kick a$$ heroine who can take care of herself just fine until she gets where she needs to be. Loved the fact Surat wasn't afraid to let her be herself and didn't try to smother or try to change Bryn. I was very sorry to read that Viola is ending the Terran Times series and haven't figured out yet if the Tales of the Citadel series is also ending. Viola may be tired of the series, but I'm hoping she will revisit occasionally...
I loved this book. This particular line ( the "P's") is the best so far. Even though this is a short story, it packs everything you might want between the pages. I loved the relationship development. The world building is wonderful. I can't get enough. Please, 's. Grace, never stop writing.
Wow and wow, while reading book I kept think this was a real person. With real people problems. I like that even female issues were add. I enjoyed book. The more I read the more I like her no matter what she never gave up.
I really enjoyed this book. Viola Grace is one of my favorite authors. She's done a great job in describing the main characters personality and conflicts she needed to deal with to move on. As always I can't wait for the next book.
The heroine of this story was a bit different than the others. She is full of anger and is comfortable with violence. While I liked how she developed a relationship with her familiar, I also liked the positive mental health message.
