I am really enjoying this murder mystery series set in Quebec. Very clever with an endearing cast. And the descriptions of the food there as well as the landscape makes you want to move to Quebec!

Actually, the book I read was The Murder Stone by Louise Penny...Goodreads didn't have it listed and I couldn't figure out how to get it on the site. But, this will do. Another great entry in the Inspector Gamache series. The time set at an old inn in the woods. It does feature characters from Three Pines though and provides a deeper insight into one of them. Made me wonder what will happen next with this character. While I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I felt it wasn't as lyrical as the previous three. Not that it was poorly written, never the case with Penny. Just that the others were magnificent. This was well done...if that makes any sense.

A list of the titles to the Louise Penny Inspector Gamache series, in publication order. A summarys of each book is also provided.

Helpful, but not especially necessary.

Not completely up-to-date, last updated 2017.

Loved this book, and feel the writer will, like so many do, get better with subsequent books. Love all the characters, especially Gamache of course. And love the literary references. Couldn't wait to start the second one.

I am totally hooked on the Inspector Gamache series! I've read all of the above in the series and am currently reading The Beautiful Mystery. Louise Penny had a great talent for weaving human emotions and mystery in all her books.

Creative stories, background topics based in reality, multi-faceted characters that grow and change. I am rereading all of the books this year.
