“Arousal swept over him in a dark, heavy wave. Livvy stared at him, desire filling her eyes, and he curled his hand around her upper arm. ‘On second thought? The scrubs will work just fine.’”

4 protect me stars! Suspenseful and sexy….what a perfect combo!

Livvy and Ryan can’t stand each other, and that’s putting it mildly. But when they are forced to work together, they realize there may just be something between them. What first starts out as a friendship ends up turning into a sexy, passionate relationship. But where there’s passion, there’s danger and it’s lurking behind Livvy’s back…..can Ryan save her?

I feel like a broken record at this point, but I LOVE this series!! Each one is just as good as the last and they are all suspenseful in their own way. You fall in love with each character and are so engrossed in the story, you don’t want to put it down!!

Save Me is Book 7 in the Donovan Series by Margaret Watson. We have met Livvy and Ryan in previous books. I must say, this pairing surprised me.

Livvy Marini is sister to Cilla. Cilla is engaged to one of the Donovan brothers. Livvy is a State Attorney assigned to squirrel out any information she can on crooked cop Anson Bates. She is supposed to work with his partner, Ryan, to dig up whatever she can. The only problem with that is Livvy hates Ryan for how he treated his fellow cop and her sister. And as a reader, I would agree. He so far has not presented as a likable person much less a lead character in a romance.

So here is the magic of being an author: We fall in love with Ryan! Thank you Margaret for redeeming him. Oh, he is still rough around the edges to be sure. But Livvy needs a bit of handling and Ryan seems to break down her defenses. Ryan does come with a TON of baggage. The message of the book and really all of the series, is that we are stronger with family. They lift us up, they have our back, and they love us no matter what. Livvy and Ryan end up being a perfect match.

You'll want to have read at least books 5 and 6 in order to be caught up on this story line. There is a mystery and some suspense in this book. As always, we get caught up on all the Donovan stories and get invited over to Rose's for dinner. Perfect family saga!

SAVE ME may have a few surprises in store for you. It brings Ryan Ward together with Livvy Marini, Cilla’s sister, to work on the case against Ryan’s ex-partner. What initially starts with animosity soon develops into something much deeper, but will it become too deep, too soon for Ryan to eventually handle? Start with the complexity of their relationship, add the suspense of potential danger and threats to Livvy’s life, and you have an interesting and engaging tale that will either tug at your heartstrings or have you on the edge of your seat. There’s plenty of excitement, intrigue, and passion, with a range of emotions from heartwarming to heart-wrenching. All coming together to make this a story that will capture your attention and keep you reading from start to finish.

I can't believe it took so long to get to this series, but it was definitely worth the wait. This is the last one in my library from this series and I have so many other books to read that it comes with a sad heart that I realize I may not get back to this series any time soon. Watson is an awesome author that definitely knows how to create characters that are real. Lots of action, suspense, and especially heat in every thing she writes. Kudos!

Heart story

Wow. Lots of drama. And cops, judges on the take, even crooked DAs. This book is about the sister of a detective who is engaged to a Donovan and the partner of a bad cop who is in jail. Livvy...The sister....is an assist DA and working to keep the dirty cop from getting bail. Now her life is being threatened. Good ending.

A good read.

Such a well written story. Two people forced to work together to help bring down a dirty cop. A lot of action, some steam and great characters.

Two unlikely people fall for each other in Save Me.

As State's Attorney, Livvy is only trying to do her job, but when the person she's assigned to work with is the same man who made her sister's life a living hell she isn't exactly excited about the prospect. Now if only her body could get on board with her mind. She seems strong and tries to be independent, but it doesn't make much to made her rely on someone she didn't think she could trust.

"Never thought I'd have to beg you to have sex with me."

Ryan was once arrested by Livvy's sister and once upon a time he thought she'd crossed the line, but after his partner got arrested he was no longer sure of anything he'd done had been the right thing. He'd apologized to Cilla, but only time would tell if Livvy would forgive him too. And the longer he has to work with Livvy the more he truly wants that forgiveness...and much much more.

You have to read the Donovan Family books in order because this storyline continues from Cover Me, which was by far my favorite in the series. Any of those lingering questions I had, where things didn't come to a complete close, they're finished in Save Me. There's bad guys, hit men, and tailing cars...not a dull moment at all and yet there aren't really that many memorable moments.

My Favorite Moment: I enjoyed the teasing that went on between Ryan and Livvy. It made their relationship that much more interesting.

"Got news for you, babe." He pulled up to the curb at the Daley Center. "The only kind of pillow talk we'll have will be 'yes. More. That. Right there. Oh, God'."

State's Attorney Livvy Marini is determined to build a case against crooked cop Anson Bates. In order to do so, she needs the cooperation of his partner, Ryan Ward. The problem is her sister, Cilla, had arrested Ryan, and he in turn made her life in the precinct so bad she had to switch to another one.

At their first meeting, Ryan comes across as unpleasant and hostile, but you get a hint that he feels bad about what he did to Cilla. Over time he opens up more to Livvy and becomes more invested in helping bring down his partner. The pair work really well together, and there's plenty of action and suspense as they try to solve the case.

While this is book seven in the series, it can be read as a standalone. It's loosely tied to the Donovan's (Cilla is engaged to Brendan Donovan). The Donovan's do make appearances in this book, but they're written in in a way that you won't feel like you're missing anything if you haven't read the previous books. I do recommend reading them all though, because it really is a great series.

Save Me is a great addition to the Donovan Family series. If you haven't read anything by Margaret Watson before, this is a good place to start.

Detective Ryan Ward first appeared in book five, Cover Me, making less than a stellar impression. He was caught roughing up a suspect and began a campaign of harassment against a fellow officer after she arrested him. The sister of that officer, State's Attorney, Livvy Marini, is Ryan's romantic interest in this book. They are thrown together on a case and after a rough start, they connect in a big way, emotionally and physically. I liked Ryan's character a lot in this book. He has seen the error of his ways and cleaned up his act. He is full of remorse for his behavior and keeping Livvy safe is his priority. Livvy is a sweetheart and I just loved her. She wants Ryan and she isn't afraid to let him or anyone else know it, despite disapproval from her family. Ryan completely redeems himself in this well-written romantic suspense story and Livvy is the perfect partner for him. I loved it.

this is the seventh book in the series and again this book can be read as a standalone.this is a fast paced read which will keep you hooked till the very last page. the characters are fab and you will fall in love with them from the first page. i thought it was really fab to include the characters from the fifth book a lot in this book and was nice to read about them and them being an important part to this story. the story has hot steamy scenes, suspense, romance and love to keep you reading long into the night. this author is fast becoming one of my new favourites, as the more i read the more i love the books. i cant wait to read more from this author in the future.

The Donovan family include more than people with Donovan as their last name and those joining the family through marriage. Livvy will be a sister-in-law in the future but has already been tucked under the Donovan wing when she is told by her boss to work with Ryan Ward to make sure a crooked cop won’t get out of doing his time. Ryan has changed in the months since he caused problems for Cilla but Livvy and the Donovans are not quite sure that is true. As Livvy and Ryan work together they draw closer to one another and a bond is created that seems unbreakable for a while. There is action, chemistry aplenty, bad guys to thwart, personal growth to be made, and love to be found but none of it is necessarily easy.

Thank you to the author for the copy of this book to read and review.

Livvy's little sister has had history with Ryan Ward, and Livvy doesn't know if she can trust him or not, even though it seems as if all has been forgiven between her sister and Ryan. Livvy and Ryan end up working on a case together and Livvy tries to keep her feelings to herself, but sexy Ryan gets under her skin and wiggles his way into her heart. But, can Ryan keep her safe from the danger that they are investigating? Or will the bad guys win and break them up forever?

Save Me is the 7th book in the series, but if you never read any of the others, it still makes a sense, so it can be a stand alone, but it's such a great series, you will want to read all the others too. I can't wait to see what comes next from Margaret Watson!

Save Me by Margaret Watson is book 7 in the Donovan Family series but readers will have no problem reading this as a standalone. For fans of the series, this book revolves around Cilla’s sister, Livvy.

Livvy is the State’s Attorney and needs the cooperation of detective Ryan Ward to help put away his partner for good. The two start off rocky, but the longer they are together, the more they can’t fight their attraction to each other. Livvy and Ryan make a great team. They really care about the other person and it shows throughout the book.

This book has it all…romance, danger, secrets, and enough suspense to grab your attention. Highly enjoyable!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. Watson does it again and this is the way a love story should be. As you get to know these two you find they both have their issues. Can they work it out and be together? Can they get past the past and move forward? Watson once again weaves a tale that shows true love does exist, the problem is can you move forward and overcome the ties that bind, you overtake you and block your heart from receiving and giving love. Well done!
