Taurian's clan believes that his union with Wayrian can save them- if he can go through with it, knowing that he loves Karla. With his arch enemy Ultrima's claw on the scales, he doesn’t dare risk backing out now. Not with his clan in immediate danger.
Karla has accepted that he can never be hers. As a prince, he must put the needs of his clan first. As painful as watching the new couple beginning their life together is for Karla, it's better than risking leaving while Ultrima’s dragons wait outside. Ultrima himself offers her a way out, but she can’t possibly leave Taurian and his clan to be wiped out by Ultrima. She has to do something to help them. If only she could figure out what.
How do you defeat a dragon who has every other dragon scared?
Rinelle Grey is no stranger to alternate lifestyles. She grew up in a variety of different homes, including a riverside shack with no electricity or running water, and even a tent. She and her sister spent their childhood chasing goats, climbing trees, eating peas and corn out of their mother’s vegetable garden, and occasionally rushing to get their correspondence school work in on time. Despite the difficulties of this lifestyle, she wouldn’t swap it for all the luxuries in the world (though she is rather fond of her running hot water and indoor plumbing now!)
She met her husband in ‘Family Therapy’, an elective they were both taking as part of their psychology degrees. It took several years for them to get together, in fact, their roleplaying characters got together before they did!
They married on the beach at sunrise in 2002, two months after Rinelle popped the question.
Although she had always loved to write, it wasn’t until her daughter was about eighteen months old that Rinelle started writing seriously. Probably not the best stage in terms of having spare time! And time only became scarcer when her daughter gave up her day sleep six months later. But by then, Rinelle had well and truly caught the writing bug, finding time somehow to continue with her passion. Her fast typing speed learnt from spending way too much time chatting on IRC, and the investment in an iPad when they came out, helped immensely.
Rinelle now lives on acreage with her husband and homeschooled daughter. In her spare time, she sells stock photography through an online site to support her family, and is hoping that writing will be able to add to that.
She loves to receive e-mails at rinelle@rinellegrey.com, or follow her on facebook or twitter.
When Taurian invited his enemy Ultrima to view the mating ceremony, it was to buy time for his clan to escape. But Ultrima was suspicious of Taurian’s motives so when Taurian realised there were twelve dragons stationed outside their lair, he was stumped - he had no idea how he could save his clan – how he could divert Ultrima’s attention while they escaped.
Karla knew she needed a plan to save Taurian from Ultrima’s anger – if they fought again, Taurian would surely die. She couldn’t bear to have that happen. But she also knew Taurian had to put his clan first; after all he was their prince and his priorities lay with them. The devastation she felt at leaving him, knowing he would mate another dragon and she would never see him again was fuelling her anger; her thoughts went round and round. Would she find a way to help the clan? Would she be able to best Ultrima, the fiercest dragon she’d met, the one everyone was scared of?
Mating the Dragon by Aussie author Rinelle Grey is the 6th in the Dragon Ruins series, and it was every bit as good as the others. A short story but filled with action and angst, I thoroughly enjoyed it. There will be more, but not for awhile…I’ll be waiting! Highly recommended.
This was the series..! I loved this one the best. Lots of action between the dragon clans. The Rain clan decides to move but before they get anywhere Ultrima shows up and sends for backup. Which the Rain clan doesn't know yet. So Taurain asks Ultrima to join his "fake" mating ceremony, to buy his clan more time to figure a way out of the lair without everyone being killed. With fast thinking on Karla's part they make a fast ceremony with his new mate Wayrian. But will this buy the time they need? Or will Ultrima kill the clan anyway? I'm not going to give away any more. Read on my fellow dragon lover's.
I have thoroughly enjoyed each book in this series, each one giving the reader so many different and varied characters. It is truly a pleasure getting to know each one throughout each book in the series. I can't wait to continue!!!
And the adventure continues with plenty of drama, action and of course a love connection. Karla is one sassy, strong, caring and protective female who never gives up on those she loves. Taurian is also a prince of dragons but definitely different because he's not prejudiced against humans but also trying to save his clan. It's a wonderful blend of characters and their struggles to survive in a changing world. This Series is a great way to spend some time reading and enjoy. ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND YOU PICK UP AND ENJOY IT TOO!
Having read the previous five books, I was vested in the ending of this group. I would rather they have been kept as one book, instead of installments. That being said I did enjoy this take on Dragons and their interactions with a rival clan as well as humans. Set in the Australian Outback, I could picture the herd of kangaroo. The sky and brush aling with the red dirt. I will be watching for more from this author.
As of right now, this is the final book in the series, but the author notes promise more! I really enjoyed how the story was broken up. Each book was its own story and ended with a cliffhanger, but you knew another book was coming soon. As they started, they finished. Romance, adventure, and dragons! Oh, my!
I enjoyed the entire series!! Talk about suspense!! Will he won't he?! Will she won't she!!?? Who will actually come out the winner or even the loser?? This is a love story that spans two species---human and dragon. The love felt for the dragon by the human is beautiful! The love for the human by the dragon is just as much so even when duty rears it's ugly head. A must read!!
I read all 6 books, all together they make a great book, not real thrilled having them broken up into 6 books though. I did enjoy the story and it did keep me reading till I finished the entire series. I also want to find out what happens next.
I really enjoyed this series. The story alternates between Karla and Taurian. Grey does a good job at creating likable characters. The stories are short but to the point. A good read for anyone that loves mythology/fantasy and a cute love story.
At the beginning of the first book, I had a very hard time keeping in sight of the storyline, but as the books progressed, each book became more intriguing. I look forward to more of the Rian Clan
Really nice it keeper me on the edge of the couch I like the trama and how the love between them grows and develop more and more of their need to just been together I really loved that story
