Maggie is back in another Cozy Café Murder Mystery
The tables are turned and even Maggie becomes a suspect when a high profile food critic is murdered in his hotel room in the wealthy town of Burkwood Hill.
All the characters are back and along for the ride as Maggie tries to balance running a successful café and cake decorating business with trying to prove her innocence.
Will there ever be a right time for Maggie and the smart, sweet, and handsome Carson?
There are literally too many spinning plates for one woman to handle now. Lucky for Maggie, her best friend Kell and the Cozy Café’s silent, seriously dedicated, and talented pastry chef, Betty, are there to help her again.
Check out the recipe in back to find out how to make Betty’s Brioché Pépin featured in the story.
Nice story, easy to read, nothing to offend. The characters were interesting and the mystery unfolded gently. I read this out of order but it didn't affect my enjoyment.
This is the second book in this series and I am finding it disappointing. There is not enough character definition to make an interesting series. The town and the people see as though they could be more interesting but it feels as though they are really one dimensional and not very well thought through. I doubt I will read any more of these books.
I was looking forward to a book but the story ended abruptly. It was almost as if the author got bored and tied it all up in two pages. Several typos towards the end suggest that there wasn't even a cursory read through before publishing. Very disappointing, as I was just getting to know the characters, and was left hanging with no explanation of who had it in for Maggie.
