This bible study session officially ended on August 22 (or 29) - but due to school obligations, I could not attend the last session. So, I didn't have the push to finish the last chapter, but I did. Since then, I have started another bible study - we are going over the book of Acts. Anyhow, this study guide was pretty informative about St. Paul. I liked that it had discussion questions at the end of each chapter. Several of the bible versus we had to look up, though, were repeats. Granted, these were repeated in the book of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John or some combination. But, at times it confused me since we were instructed to provide the insight based on the readings.
I've realized with this bible study that I really don't know much about the bible or the teachings of my faith. I only have the stereotypical view of what it means to be a Catholic. There is so much out there...and it's comforting to know that once you actually dwelve into the bible and bible studies, that there is more to it. I liked learning about St. Paul, his journey into the church and what he did for the church. He dealt with 6 of the 7 sacraments that are the basis of the Catholic faith. I didn't understand all of his teachings, but at least I have more knowledge than I did before.
we're reading this in my church moms group. I find the layout distracting. This text is unfortunately not illuminative, inspiring or even that interesting. I'm sure Fr. Pacwa is a nice guy, this book just wasn't really relevant to me as a busy wife and mother.
Nice intro to St. Paul. This book would work perfect with a small study group, and was an interesting solo read. I thought the layout of the book was a bit choppy.
