Sarai couldn’t have a baby. Leah felt unloved. David ran for his life and Job lost everything. Just about every Bible hero at one time or another went through a life-changing trial. As you read through Scriptures you can almost hear them ask… Why does life have to be so hard? Difficult times often leave Christians searching the Bible for answers to the most difficult questions — Does God hear me when I pray? Why isn’t He doing anything? Does He even care? Author Lindsey Bell understands the struggle. She battled for years with secondary infertility. As she endured medical testing and numerous miscarriages, she searched the Bible for answers to these tough questions. Her studies led her through the stories of biblical figures, big and small. She discovered that while life brings trials, faith brings victory. And when we rely on God for the strength to get us through, we can emerge Unbeaten.

I didn't realize how much I could benefit from this devotional entitled "Unbeaten.". I think I'd gotten so used to the "punches" in this life that I forgot I wasn't alone in the fighter's ring. But author Lindsey Bell reminded me.

Bell systematically goes through the heroes and anti-heroes in the Bible who not only suffered in one way or another but either soared in their faith or succumbed to despair. The author doesn't speak as one on the outside. She is very much in the ring of despair with those of us who have been wounded by life. She has allowed God to take her on a journey of learning to forgive and to see purpose in her pain. One can almost imagine God holding her arm high with each fight bravely won. Thank you, Lindsey Bell.

Unbeaten is a powerful devotional/Bible study that reminds us that God doesn't leave us alone in your struggles. Lindsey Bell writes in a conversational tone that lets us consider the lives of real people in the Bible during their trials. The chapters are short enough to read in a few minutes, yet thought provoking to let you think about it and gain hope throughout the day. This book offers hope in the hard places of life.

We all endure painful times in our lives, some may be for a brief season, some last longer, perhaps many years. Remaining Unbeaten during our periods of hurt and grief is not easy. We may tend to fall into depression, ask "why me?", or even turn away from our faith. Lindsey Bell has penned a very unique, most helpful ten-week study on emerging victorious from those times in our lives none of us want to go through - but do. Her in-depth look at Biblical heroes, how they made it through their suffering and came out stronger on the other end offers help, comfort, and most of all, hope to those battling painful struggles.
Open the pages of Unbeaten to learn how we can find strength, growth and fullness in our suffering, how we can take comfort in resting in the arms of the God who loves us more than we can fathom, and how our faith in the midst of pain can take us into a deeper relationship with Him. Do you have doubts? Have you been tempted to fall away? You are not alone. Through her own experiences, Lindsey Bell is well equipped to walk others through the path of grief, urging us to turn to the One who brings us great joy, even in the midst of our sorrow.
This book is a must read for anyone who is struggling, but also for those who have been there, trod that road and now stand ready to assist others who follow behind them. Faith in the Father who brings us hope will let us all emerge 'Unbeaten."

None of us are exempt from hardships in life. Therefore, we all need the reminder that we can be "Unbeaten" with the help of Jesus, who also knows all to well the trials of this life.
"Unbeaten" is a devotional Bible Study that allows the reader to walk through many characters of the Bible that have faced moments in life that forced them to choose whether or not they would be "Unbeaten" and rise above their pain. This study is set up wonderfully that one could go through it personally or as a group.
The studies are broken up in manageable sections, providing excellent resources to further your study with Reflection Questions, Prayer focus, Scriptures for Further Meditation, Journal Activities, a Study Guide with Discussion Questions, and weekly Intro and Recap videos. I am a young mother with many responsibilities and I have joyfully forced time in my schedule for this Study because I have found it to be personally rewarding and spiritually uplifting. It has been worth every minute.
If you, or someone you know, has gone through battles in this life, pick up a copy of "Unbeaten" and be encouraged to know that you are not alone. God is always with you. And with His help, you too, can live "Unbeaten."

This was a wonderful book. Unbeaten doesn’t hold back any punches! Getting the book Unbeaten, is like having Jesus in your corner, putting on your boxing gloves. Powerful, uplifting and honest, there is no feel-good message here, just the truth. “Life is unfair,” Bell says. God doesn’t promise easy. He promised hope, joy, and peace—not the absence of pain….Thank Him for being unfair with Jesus and the cross!
At the end of every devotion chapter, there are questions for reflection, prayer, scripture for further meditation, journal activity, and a wonderful take-away. For instance, Bell says, “When you do nothing wrong, forgive those who did.”
I admit I often forget that Biblical heroes were real flesh and blood humans like us and that they faced real-life doubts, as we do. God’s promises often did not materialize until years down the road! What would you rather have the world’s definition of success that is measured by fleeting human years, or God’s definition of success that will last an eternity? Get a copy of Unbeaten as a stocking stuffer for your neighbors, friends, and family members. It will be the best gift you could give them!

This book by Lindsey Bell looks into the characters of the Bible and the places where they may have had a struggle, tension, or difficulty. She examines the ways in which these different individuals work to overcome their struggle, coming out unbeaten. Bell shares much of her personal story throughout the daily readings, and it is easy to connect with her writing as she shares. Each reading is a short 2-3 pages, followed by some journaling questions and activities to follow up on. I found myself wishing that there was a bit more content in each of the readings, as I would have loved to dig in deeper to the character and how they overcame the struggle. Occasionally, it felt like the reading centered more on Bell and her situation or the story she was sharing then the actual character of the Bible we were to be studying about that day. But I also understand the constraints when you are asking someone to read a passage of scripture, then some text on the topic and do an activity at the end.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

Unbeaten by Lindsey Bell is a wonderful 10 week Bible Study that includes Scripture, stories about various people in the Bible and even time for personal reflection. Each week includes thoughtful insights and allows the reader to learn more about the Bible and more about themselves. There are video sessions that further the study, too. This Bible Study can be done alone or in a group setting. By remembering that even people in the Bible such as Jairus, Abram and Sarai, Peter, Job and many more, suffered heartache, too, and yet, they rose above their pain. I think this is a study that will impact many lives in a positive way.

I love this new book by Lindsey Bell!! She has the book set up in a very useful format so that the study can be done 5-days a week over a 10-week period. She starts the week with a little story about different conflicts, then goes on to tell you what scripture to read each day, along with a short story. At the end of each day, she has reflection questions, further scriptures to read, a prayer, a journal activity, and a takeaway note. There is also a study guide at the back of the book that can be used for group studies of this book. This is a book that I recommend to everyone facing battles and challenges. I’ve already recommended it to many friends and family.

Unbeaten is an uplifting devotional that shows that God is with us even during the hardest times. In this ten week study, Lindsey Bell draws from biblical stories and her own testimony to encourage readers to live unbeaten. The devotions are the perfect length for a busy stay-at-home mom like myself who has very little downtime. I also loved the journal questions and prayers at the end of each chapter because they reinforced the lesson and allowed time to reflect. I highly recommend Unbeaten to anyone looking for daily encouragement in their spiritual walk.

I really am enjoying this book. I did not know how much reading about heroes in the faith would encourage me at this time in my life. I am relating to so many of these heroes. it reminds me that God does not select perfect people to have a relationship with him and to follow him. he chooses the people that made a decision to be led by him because God has been proven to be faithful to his promises and trustworthy. This book will change how you view your life suitations. You will begin to see that the hand of God has been moving in their life all along.

Life is so hard! Sometimes we feel like we have no answers and feel alone in this world. Unbeaten is a 10 week devotional written by Lindsey Bell who gives you an outlook on life and how the Bible relates to it. Going through this devotional has given me a better outlook on my life. It's helping me get a clearer picture that God is always there for me no matter what and even when I can't see Him actively working in my life I know He is working behind the scenes. If you want a stronger relationship with Him this is a good way to get closer to Him.

Thought provoking, easy to understand, and engaging!

The bible tells us that 'in this world we WILL have troubles, but I leave you My peace'
Whether you have gone through a trial, going through a trial, or neither (which means it's coming, the bible promises this) then this bible study is for you! With engaging end of day options to make your study as simple or complex as you want/need, it's a good fit for everyone.

Lindsey Bell's "Unbeaten" study brings the Bible to life for modern women, presenting solid biblical principles with clear and encouraging messages for women struggling with pain and discouragement. Unbeaten helps us realize that we are not alone in our pain, and God will make a way to healing. I appreciated how Lindsey uses scripture as well as contemporary stories to illustrate how we can face our circumstances and triumph over them. Well worth the read.

Lindsey Bell isn’t afraid to tackle life’s hard questions. It’s obvious she has asked them herself and dug into God’s Word for the answers. “Unbeaten” encourages readers who have the same questions. Bell blends storytelling, devotion, and Bible study to guide us to find the answers through the lives of individuals in the Bible who dealt with hardships and difficulties. Bell is open and honest. “Unbeaten” is relevant for anyone today who feels beaten down by life.

I love this devotional. It is the perfect length for a busy mom. The daily devotions can be done in about 20 minutes, but are packed with Scriptures and real world stories that spoke directly to me. It is such a good reminder that we are never alone, even in the darkest times, as long as we have God.

Unbeaten by Lindsey Bell helps you to dive into the lives of biblical characters and see the context surrounding their situations, while helping you to see the context of your own situation. This book brought passages to life for me and helped me to overcome self defeat. I would encourage everyone to read this book, especially those who journal or looking on how to start.

May I recommend that you keep a tissue box at hand when reading this devotional. The author definitely struck a chord in my heart. I so appreciate her words and how she could share such raw emotion and pain to point others to Jesus.
