Are you planning on going to the Paleo Diet soon? In that case, you've come to the right place! Aren't you excited? I guess, you are! Maybe you have already formed a vague idea of what Paleo will imply, and maybe it feels a bit overwhelming. The Paleo diet is known by other names such as the cavemen diet, hunter-gatherer diet, and Stone Age diet. The concept behind this diet came from the premise that what worked for the forefathers’ health would also work for today’s population. Adoption of the eating habits, food selections, and lifestyle of our prehistoric ancestors are the main objectives. Included in the diet are mostly fish and meat and products of plants such as vegetables, fruits and nuts. As there were no ways to process foods back then, all processed foods are to be avoided in this diet. The only sugar that is allowed is honey. Salt, on the other hand, is limited. Off-limits are the grains, dairy products and all canned, cured, smoked, and preserved products

Interesting book but left me very confused. Said no frying yet recipes were fried. Said no bananas yet several banana recipes. Said butter was good and then said no butter. Said no chorizo but then recipe had chorizo in it.
Yes there are health benefits to this diet. However if you don't live an active lifestyle this diet can do more harm than good. I can see an occasional meal or two from this book but due to my health problems this would not be a diet I could follow for a lengthy period of time.

Good basics and lots of recipes but there is some contradictory information, e.g., some recipes contain restricted foods and some allowed foods are on other restricted lists.
Carmen This book is a great, straightforward book on the Paleo diet. It gives you the reasoning, what to expect, recipes for meals and a schedule (plus meals on a budget). So much of the time a diet book is Trump-like that we as the consumer are supposed to just believe the book is good.
Having a bit of experience with Paleo I can tell you that Agave and Maple syrup are not part of the diet. This book features both prominently in multiple recipes.
