Haunted by the memory of a near death accident, the life of former paramedic Sarah Eichman wasn’t easy. But when the harsh reality of the apocalypse hit, coping with life’s ups and downs took on a new meaning. With the dead marching to consume the world, Sarah and her best friend rely on each other to survive. Not only must they fight their own fears, the risks presented by other survivors threaten to rip away their humanity.
Will they become something far worse than the monsters they face or will their actions guarantee a better future? Guided by fear and strengthened by courage, these two friends will fight against the odds...or die trying.
My name is Tracy Wilson and I am the creator of Zombie Bytes. This is my first adventure into the zombie apocalypse genre. While I was never a big fan of zombies, this type of story telling grew on me from several different sources- one of them being Adrian's Undead Diary.
Writing and telling a decent story has always been a passion of mine ever since High School. And somehow between family, work I manage to bring the characters in my head to life. I live and work in Little Rock
It is my sincerest hope that you will enjoy what I have written!
I am leaving an honest review of this book. ZOMBIE BYTES is a quick novel about sisters fighting their lives of a zombie apocalypse. I liked it at times, but the problem is, it wasn’t for me. I was bored, but I finished it and was feeling unsatisfied. Sad that I didn’t liked this book :(
My heart was beating fast throughout this book. Do like stories about the zombie apocalypse? Check this one out. The zombie apocalypse has hit and two friends, Carla and Sarah head for the hills. But along the way they keep running into zombies. The encounters are intense. Other things happen that are also intense. I didn’t know if these tough ladies were going to survive.
I read this in one sitting. It’s only 137 pages. It says this is book one. With the cliff hanger at the end, things definitely are not resolved. I’ll be waiting for book 2.
This is a story of friendship, sisterhood, death, grief, survival, and holding on to one’s humanity. Even if you don’t normally read apocalyptic thrillers, I think you will like this one.
I’m not entirely into the zombie genre much as I think it has been ran into the ground, but I think Tracy has done a great job of bringing an unique vision to life. What sets this book apart is that it isn’t like other zombie things you are used to. It isn’t about zombies much at all in fact. It’s about the relationship between two best friends, Sarah and Carla. That human part of this story is where the charm lies, and seeing how their lives evolve in a post apocalyptic world is a treat to behold. The story starts off quick at the beginning of the world going to some undead **** at the end of the first chapter and it never lets off the gas. It’s like you are thrown right into it with the ladies themselves as you follow along on their journey to just simply survive. Loss comes in hard for the two, and they find comfort in each other as they find safety in isolation. This is a zombie apocalypse though, so nothing lasts forever. By the end of the book your attachment to Sarah and Carla is as strong as the one they build to each other. The only downside to the story is the ending, which might be my only complaint with the story. It ends, with a cliffhanger in obvious fashion, but I felt like there might should have been a bit more context before the story came to a complete close with a better look at what was to come. I won’t knock the writer though, because the second book is being worked on and maybe the ending will make more sense once I read that one. I still loved the book and want more, so really, the ending concern is small potatoes compared to the amazing full thing.
Seriously a great book. This is usually not a genre I like but I LOVED this book. One of those you can't put down once you start type of books. I have added this author to my favorite list. I can't wait to see what else comes.
I loved it! This book was amazing! I wasn’t the biggest fan of zombie books but I absolutely loved this. It was a quick and fast read, that completely sucks you into it. The scenes were very detailed written, I could feel what they were feeling and see what they seen. And that cliff hanger 😱 Also loved the blood splats on the pages, it looked very cool.
I thought the book was great, but I hate, hate, hate cliffhangers. Also there are many words missing which disrupts the flow of the prose and punctuation was erratic which messes up the flow. The story was exciting and definitely sucked me in, in a good way. I would have given this story a definite five stars but for the cliffhanger and various copyediting mistakes. I would buy the sequel if I had the money, but I don't, so I won't.
I liked The Walking Dead before the show jumped the shark, and this book had the constant tension that the series did in its infancy. I love books and movies where the world goes to hell and people have to find sanctuary quickly to save their lives. This book lives up to others in that genre. The fast pace starts from the early pages and keeps going throughout the entire book.
Sarah & Carla are friends who survive the unthinkable. A Zombie Apocalypse. They are heading for the hunting cabin, that Sarah's boyfriend is at. Only they have to avoid the area due to the undead surrounding it. So they head to another off-grid cabin. Can they survive the undead? What about the living people? No one is safe.
Carla is my favorite character. She is balls to the wall and takes no grief from anyone. Sarah grew on me towards the end of the book. In the beginning, she was helpless and annoying.
This was another lunchtime quickie. 136 pages and enough action to keep you hooked for your lunch break. There were some grammar and editing issues, but they didn't take away from the story. I will be reading book #2, my morbid curiosity wants to know who lives and who dies.
This is not your average gore-fest zombie novel. Yes, there are plenty of undead moments that made my skin crawl, but what I loved most about Zombie Bytes was the relationship between Sarah and her best friend. Their bond felt authentic like two people who have gone through thick and thin together and now are forced to depend on each other more than ever. I also appreciated the emotional depth of Sarah’s backstory. The memory of her near-death accident lingers over her decisions and the way she processes danger. It’s rare that a book in this genre digs this deep into a character’s psyche. James Wilson captured both the horror of the apocalypse and the fragile beauty of human connection. It’s brutal, heartbreaking, and yet strangely hopeful. Highly recommend if you like your zombie fiction with heart and soul.”
Zombie Bytes. Book 1. A normal day begins. Two friends are going to spend the day together. Then splashed across every news channel, a warning is given. Do not approach anyone that is dazed, or confused. Sarah and Carla, must fight to survive, in a world that is now disintegrating around them. Battling Zombies, and fellow survivors, while desperately trying to keep their humanity intact. A fast paced compelling read. Sadly, with no form of ending. But I look forward to reading book 2.
Zombie Bytes: Part One delivers far more than a standard zombie tal. It’s a powerful character-driven story wrapped in the chaos of the end of the world. From the very first pages, James T. Wilson pulls us into Sarah Eichman’s fractured mindset, shaped by both her past as a paramedic and the lingering trauma of a near-death experience. That emotional weight gives the story depth right from the start, making the apocalypse feel personal rather than purely sensational.
Where do I even begin?? Wilson has such a great grasp of making you feel like you’re right there with his characters, feeling the grit, soot and wind. His characters are lovely and well-balanced, and I never get that “oh brother” feeling when reading his heroines. Great book, please consider supporting this author!!!
