I’M SUPPOSED TO BE HER WHITE KNIGHT, NOT THE DEVIL BETWEEN HER SHEETS.

Jack Steele

Hazel is the one woman I could never have, and I’ve done everything in my power to stay away from her, to keep her out of my dangerous life. But when Hazel’s dad, my mentor, is brutally murdered and she’s kidnapped I’m left with no alternative. I have to find her and kill the men who so much as lay a hand upon her sweet face.

Yet when I do, I fear I won’t be able to resist the temptation to strip her innocence away and keep her for myself.

Hazel Bradshaw

Jack was every girl’s fantasy; dangerous, brooding and sexy as sin, and over the years as we grew up together he slowly became mine. I longed for him to notice me but no matter what I did he always remained distant. I won't let him push me away again, not anymore.

Kidnapped by a murderous and powerful man, a pawn in his game, I must try to stay alive long enough for Jack to find me. For years I’ve saved myself only for him, never letting anyone touch me, and now he must come and save me.

And when he does, I’m going to make sure this time he finally takes what’s rightfully his.

3.5 to 4 stars.

This is an interesting book and I really liked the way it was told, it's in three sections the first is from Jacks POV.
It starts in the present day when Jack discovers Nixon the man who became like a father to him has been killed and Nixon's daughter Hazel has been taken. The story unfolds between the present day and Jack's memories giving us a picture of his life and his feelings towards Hazel the one remaining person he would give his life for and we come to understand that there's absolutely nothing he won't do to get her back.
The next section is Hazel's POV and again we get the memories and the present as she comes to term with her situation, the loss of her father and her feelings for Jack.
The final section is from both POV as they try to escape and survive but the odds are stacked against them.
This is the first book I've read by this author and while I liked the characters, the story and the way it all unfolded I have to be totally honest and say that I felt it was missing something, I'm not sure what exactly which I know isn't helpful but it's still an enjoyable read.

DELICIOUSLY DARK, SERIOUSLY SEXY, EMOTIONALLY ENGAGING AND COMPLETELY CAPTIVATING !!!
Title: Hitman's Revenge
Designation: Standalone Forbidden Bad Boy Romance, NO Cliffhanger
Author: Emilia Beaumont
Genre: Contemporary/Bad Boy Romantic Suspense/Thriller
Reading Platform: Kindle Unlimited
My Rating: FIVE CAPTIVATING STARS*****
Oh my! Oh my! Oh my! Emilia Beaumont has certainly stepped outside the box with her latest release, Hitman's Revenge, a Forbidden Bad Boy Romance and I, for one, hope she stays out! I loved this book! I began reading Beaumont's work several years ago and was immediately impressed with her unique style and exceptional talent. I quickly became a diehard fan but this story is so far removed and totally unlike any of her previous releases, that it has surprised even me. I've never read anything like it. It's written in one of the most unusual styles I've ever read; it's truly magnificent. The narrative of the book is written in the first and third person with his and her alternating points of view but is divided into three separate and distinct parts. The first third of the book is from the male protagonist's point of view with each chapter alternating between a present first person perspective and then a past flashback as told by him in the third person. The second third of the book is from the female protagonist's point of view with each chapter alternating between a first person perspective in the present and a third person retelling of a past event. Then, the final third of the book is a first person perspective with alternating his and her chapters. It's bloody brilliant! It swept me into the past and present lives of both of the primary characters and held me completely enthralled. I fell head over heels in love with professional hitman Jack Steele and beautiful, innocent and quite often naive Hazel Bradshaw, the two primary players in this remarkable story of danger, drama, suspense, murder, loss, heartache, unconditional love and hopeful redemption. These two characters were intriguing, engaging, totally relatable and exceptionally well developed. Jack Steele was definitely not your typical hero. Jack was a cold blooded killer but he was also an extraordinary antihero that held me under his spell from the first page until the very last line of the book! I felt empathy for him as well as sympathy along with heartache for his plight in life but I never gave up hope for the possibility of his redemption. And Hazel was such a joy, as a child and an adult, always giving her love freely and unconditionally. She was brave, loyal, straight forward, honest to a fault and never played games with people's emotions. And even the bad guys were given their proper due as we learned some of their history and motivations. The dialogue was captivating, realistic and well executed. The entire book was masterfully written and exceptionally well crafted with professional formatting and a beautiful cover. What did I love about this book? Everything! Would I recommend this book? You bet and I am but only for adult readers as it does contain several explicit sex scenes in the last third of the book. And yes, the build-up was torture but it was worth it. It had me on the edge of my seat constantly questioning, will they or won't they. Most of us automatically assume since this is a romance that the hero and heroine will do the deed but I was having serious doubts and that's the beauty of Beaumont's writing. It's so darn realistic, you begin to doubt what you think you know about the characters and the story. Most of us form an opinion of how we think the book will end long before we get to the last page but with this story, you don't have a clue. That's the beauty of all the twists and turns, to keeps the readers on their toes and Beaumont makes it look effortless. I loved it! If I had any criticisms at all, it would be only one thing. The story reveals that Jack's parents were murdered when he was only six years old but we never learn why or how, just that it was a violent death leaving him an orphan. I would love to have known whether his parents were somehow also connected to a crime syndicate as was Nixon Bradshaw, the man that took him in, gave him a home and mentored him. Will I read this author again? Absolutely! Just as soon as she releases her next book!

Trained assassin and professional hitman Jack Steele has suffered great loss in his lifetime but he's also caused many others to suffer the same fate. As a result, he's had to give up everything he loves including the woman that will hold his heart in the palm of her hand for all time. That woman is Hazel Bradshaw, the daughter of Nixon Bradshaw, the man who took him into his home when he was only six years old. When Jack had nowhere to go and no one to turn to, Nixon became his adopted father, provider, teacher and mentor. And Nixon's three year old daughter became his heart and only love. But make no mistake, Nixon was no choir boy. He was a highly paid assassin himself who passed on his trade to Jack. Jack and Hazel grew up together and were as close as two kids could be with Jack as her older foster brother, best friend, protector and knight in shining armor. But now at age twenty-nine, his life as a cold-blooded killer for hire has cost him everything. He's made countless enemies over the years and can't afford to love anyone. That's a weakness he could never afford making him vulnerable in the eyes of those who want to hurt him. He had long ago abandoned any hope of experiencing love along with any expectations of having a normal life which meant one thing - he could never have his beautiful Hazel. There was only one problem with his logic - he never told Hazel. He never told her that he loved her beyond all reason and craved her touch, and never, ever told her that she could never fall in love with him. And by the time he tried, it was too late - she was already hopelessly and irrevocably in love with him.

Hazel Bradshaw had never felt more afraid or alone in her entire life. She had to witness her own father's murder and now she has been kidnapped, held prisoner and beaten. She has no idea where she is and there's only person who may be able to save her, the man she's always loved, Jack Steele. But he abandoned her ten years ago, cruelly turning his back on her and her offer of love, and still she loves him and has loved only him for two decades. There has never been anyone but him and even now at twenty-six, she has saved herself for him and consequently, she may now die without ever experiencing physical love. Still, in the recesses of her mind, the spark of love and hope is still alive but will Jack come for her? You bet he will! Are you ready to feel the wrath of Jack Steele? Oh my! Completely captivating, seriously sexy, deliciously dark and divinely entertaining! Once I began reading this book, I could not put it down! So much yearning, so much loss, so much heartbreaking angst but also, so much love. Sigh... Absolutely exquisite! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

OH WOW! Jack Steele is just WOW! He is one man I wouldnt want to mess with and he is sooooo alpha and dangerous. When his woman is taken- at first he didnt realize she was his, he just knew that his mentor Dixon was gone forever and his daughter, Hazel Bradshaw , had been taken away as revenge against him. He cared deeply for Dixon and he saw Hazel as his friend but something suddenly switched on inside him. There is this great POV that was seen in this book from Jack--told in a way that I truly enjoyed. Jack was going to get Hazel back and take revenge on the men who took her from him. He holds Hazel in this haze of memory from their time when they grew up together as kids , then the memories slowly change to when they are adults... the passion and the beat of the story is fantastic.

Hazel is one strong woman to endure what she did. She loves Jack completely- her POV is wonderful. Reading Jack's and then Reading Hazel's POV is so interesting- its unique to see MC's POV.. She has always loved him and despaired he would ever see her as a woman...the point when he did was electric. Her horrific turn with the kidnappers until Jack got her back...wow, the author wrote a great story and kept me glued to this book.

The ending of the book when Jack got to Hazel and they were on the run and the dual POV -mind-blowing. I do not want to give any spoilers but suffice to say, it is action packed and full of passion and chemistry between them as they fight the bad guys and their own feelings while on the run. Jack refuses to give in while Hazel is begging him to not give up and to love her...full of emotions.
The ending -will Hazel give Jack a chance when he realizes what he did after pushing her away -the love is there-and will the bad guys be caught. You have to read to get this awesome story. It is FANTASTIC and sooooo good!

I received this for a honest review. Emilia Beaumont does such an amazing job. She has a way writing a bad boy story. Trust me you are going to fall in love with Jack.

Jack Steele after his parents had died was taken in as a small child by Nixon Bradshaw. I loved how the author gave you insight to Jack and Hazel’s past along with what was going on in the present. Jack was very fawn of Hazel going up and wanted to do everything in his power to protect her and he wanted Nixon to teach him just that.

Hazel had been in love with Jack for many many years. She had always saved herself for him in hopes that he would come around and want her just as bad. Jack had always been there to protect her but now here he was gone. She got to learn the hard way that he was no longer the sweet boy she grew up with but a hard killer of a man.

Jack’s heart had to sink not only was the man that had raised him as his father was dead but someone had taken Hazel. He could not imaging the pain Hazel was feeling knowing her dad was dead. He could only hope that she would hang on for him to come and save her. Jack carried a lot of guilt and could not help but wonder if this was some how all his fault.

Hazel will show some amazing strength in this story and Jack is going to find it very hard to resist her. Not only is he mad about Nixon death but Jack is not going to like the state he finds Hazel in. Jack is going to have to do everything in his power to save her and keep her safe.

Things are not easy for these two. There is danger around every corner and Hazel is not finding it easy to win Jack’s heart. Don’t worry I assure you the author does not disappoint. There are plenty of hot and steamy parts. I know you will enjoy this story just as much as I.

When the male character is a hitman, something switches on inside me and I'm fair game. I have to read that story! With this book, the action starts full-throttle as Jack finds out right away about his father figure, Dixon, has been brutally killed. What's worse, the girl he grew up with has been kidnapped.

One of my favourite things about this novel is the structure. It's divided into three distinctive parts. The first one is told from Jack's point of view as he follows the leads that will take him to where Hazel's been imprisoned. It's interesting to see his hard side, the killer's edge, but also the sweet memories he holds from them growing up together.

Then, Hazel's got her turn to tell her ordeal at the hands of Jack's enemy. This second part includes more memories from the past tinged with longing, tenderness but also some heated moments.

The final part is a mix of both of their points of view as they run and fight for their lives. There's action, tension, fear and blood, also plans to come out of the criminal mess alive. All the while, I was torn because Jack refuses to give in to his emotions and keeps pushing Hazel away. At least, they both have reasons to act the way they do, and their few intimate encounters were quite hot.

I think this is a good hitman story. It's lively written, it has got a very entertaining way to link every scene, a bunch of dangerous scenes and a sweet and hot romance. The ending included some very needed redemption from the dark hero's part. I liked all of it.

Emilia Beaumont's Hitman's Revenge is a fast paced, intriguing love story set amongst the harsh world of organised crime. Jack Steele grew up with Hazel & her father Nixon Bradshaw & it was Nixon who trained him to be a tough, ask-no-questions hitman. He also instilled in Jack the need to protect Hazel at all costs & that furthermore, Hazel was not for him. Fighting off his growing desire for Hazel, Jack leaves the Bradshaw's as soon as he is old enough to follow the path he's trained for & becomes one of the best at his profession, only coming back to see Hazel occasionally over the years. But then, Nixon is brutally murdered, Hazel kidnapped & only Jack can save he.r. Hazel's love for Jack is intense, not a childhood crush & we are given insight to the man beneath the facade of a cold blooded killer from Hazel's point of view as well as friends Jack has met along his journey. Deep down, he's a loyal man, with deeply ingrained morals; he knows he's not good enough for Hazel & tries to fight his ever-present love for her.
Emilie Beaumont tackles this subject with clean crisp writing, without any fluff, much like the character of Jack. She doesn't hold back with what happens in this brutal world, but there's no gore, only some unavoidable bloodshed. If you enjoy a fast-paced, love on the run story, then you need to read Hitman's Revenge & revel in the passion that drives Hazel & Jack.

They grew up together but their feelings became stronger and different as the years went by. His life was dangerous and he did not want to expose her to it. She loved him and wanted no one else. When her life is at risk, he is willing to do anything to get her back.

I really enjoyed this romance about a man that was raised to be a hitman. It is what he does best and he enjoys the work. The one thing Jack can't have is the woman he loves. Hazel is the young woman he watched grow up and her father was the man who helped raise him. He feels being in his life will be too dangerous for her so he resists the desire (most of the time). When the man they both love is killed and Hazel is kidnapped, Jack can't stay away any longer. He has to save her.

The characters are well developed and the story is well-paced and keeps your interest. They have an intense connection to one another. Hazel has never given up on him and trusts he will save her. She just isn't sure he will stay after he does. Jack is a complicated character. He gets paid to kill people. Other than refusing to kill kids, doesn't resist most offers. He does have friends and loves Hazel and her father.

I received a copy in return for a honest review.

Jack is a hitman, that was trained by Hazel's father. As he is being trained by Hazel's father the two start to have feelings for it each other. However, Jack never acts on his feelings because he thinks he isn't good enough. Jack pushes her away, so she won't be hurt by him. He ends up leaving, and they don't see each other until he has to rescue her.

Once he rescues her she doesn't hold back her feelings for him. He still tries to fight them, but she gives him one last chance. He takes the last chance, but things turn to where he thinks he can't ever have her again.

The story takes some turns in the story to where Hazel ends up in the hospital, and once again Jack leaves her. However, a phone call from an old friend telling Jack some news brings him back to Hazel. Once they are back together everything falls in place and you get the happily ever after you crave throughout the whole book.

If you love an exciting romance book, then this is the book for you!

I would highly recommend this book to anyone!

Loved this well written hitman romance. First part is from Jack's pov, second part is from Hazel's pov- both going from present day to past, the the third part is both of their pov's in present day until the last two chapter's. So we get the history of each other and the compilations what Jack faces with Hazel and vise versa. Hawk's father adopts? Jack and brings him under his wing to train in in becoming a hitman but that is one rule Hazel is to be protected no matter what, and Jack will do that including letting her love for him be a wasted emotion. Hazel has love Jack since she was very little and dealt with the heartache when they get older and he is with others but also most of all where he pushes her away all the time. Now Hazel is taken, her father killed and Jack will stop at nothing to get Hazel back from danger but he never thought that he will be risking more now then ever, even with a half a million $$ to take the one thing he has ever wanted out in a hit.

!!! Spoilers !!!

I honestly must be in the minority with this one because I just was not feeling it with these characters. The book it separated into 3 parts, part one was very slow and almost boring. The POV is solely Jacks in part one and you find out that they grew up together and he is Hazels protector. Part two is alittle better and in Hazels POV. You find out what is going on with her and what she's feeling. Part three is mixed POV and to sum it all up, you could tell that Jack loved her to a certain degree and of course lusted after her a lot but I just didn't feel that the characters connected in a romantic way. Yeah, Jack said she was his only one and he had loved her all of his life but I think he disconnected from her too much for me to really feel it. It really just felt like I was reading about Hazels incredibly huge crush on Jack. Overall it just wasn't all that awesome to me. It wasn't a horrible but I won't read it again.

This is the first book I've ever read by Emilia Beaumont and it definitely won't be my last. Jack Steele was only 6 years old when his parents were murdered leaving him all alone. A friend of his Dad, Nixon took him in and raised him. Nixon also had a daughter three years younger than Jack named Hazel. When Jack was 12 Nixon started training him to become a hitman. Jack and Hazel were best friends as kids but once Hazel became a woman he developed feelings for her and knew the only way to keep her safe was to leave her. Jack finds out that Nixon was murdered and Hazel was kidnapped and he will do whatever it takes to find her.

This is an intense and well written bad boy romance that had me on the edge of my seat the entire time and I loved it! This is a dark and twisted read and these are my personal favorites so I was definitely not disappointed at all with this one! This is Jack and Hazel's story and it's about two people who've harbored feelings towards each other for a while now, but haven't acted on it for certain reasons. Now Hazel's life is in serious danger and it's going to be up to Jack to come in and save the day. I loved everything about reading this and I highly recommend this to anyone to read. Hot hitman goodness that's romantic and sexy

There's so much that I love about this book, starting with the characters. Jack is a determined hitman, who will stop at nothing to save Hazel, the woman he has always loved. Hazel's father mentored Jack, training him to be an assassin. The two grew up together as Jack learned his trade, but eventually Jack leaves.

When Hazel's father is killed and she is kidnapped, all of Jack's skills are needed to get her back. What they go through isn't all roses, obviously, but these difficult events solidify their love. The book has romance as well as sexy parts. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Hazel is Jack's one achilles heel throughout his life, even when growing up under her father's house rules. Being trained at a young age by Nixon Hazel's dad, to be a hitman. He has had to keep a lot of secrets from her. Even the one that means the most. Then having to leave his home, dreams and harden his heart to protect the ones he loves the most. But what will happens when he finds out someone special to him is kidnapped and the one father figure in his life is murdered in cold blood? All hell is about to break loose.

I received this book in an exchange for an honest review. I will make my review short because I don't want to give anything away. The main characters are Jack and Hazel. I really did enjoy this book it shows parts from the past and the present, which helped me know how deep their feelings were. The only thing I didn't like was that there weren't enough steamy scenes in my opinion. Things really weren't easy for these two, however I felt it made it all worth it in the end. The love between these two was very believable. I do recommend this book.

Wow! This is a must read. Once I started this book, I really did not want to stop. I rushed home from work to finish it. Jack has always loved Hazel, but never thought that he deserved her. Hazel has always loved Jack, but he always pushed her away. Oh yeah, Jack is a hitman. This book has lots of danger and suspense, mixed in with some hot romance. I really liked the author's use of alternating point of view. It really worked for this book. This is a great story, and I highly recommend this book.

I really liked this book. I don't read stepbrother books, but this wasn't made that way, they were fairly separate. I liked Jack, even though he was a killer. He truly cared for Hazel. I liked Hazel too, she was strong and sweet at the same time. They were explosive together. A great read.
