Sakura meets first Ryouichi at a male brothel and buys him for the night. As their supposed one night stand ends up becoming a somewhat stable monetary based relationship, feelings start to change. Can these two awkward people garner the courage to admit that their true feelings run deeper than merely sex and money?
I didn't hate it, but it wasn't good. The story didn't flow well and the love interest wasn't very likable. I don't mind an asshole character, but he didn't have anything redeeming about him. The romance was toxic and just not very good. I liked the short side story about the high schooler that stabbed a guy and the American better. It felt like it had more to offer than the main story. Yeah... not great.
I remember reading some of the interwoven stories by Miyamoto Kano a few years back, and I've decided to work my way through them again now.
Say Please (or Please - the English translation differs) could probably be considered new adult. It's an M/M romance between a 27 year-old teacher and a 21 year old. They meet when the latter's working as a prostitute to try to save up money for school. This is not as good as what I remember from Miyamoto, but it's in essence a prequel to the series I remember reading. There is still something very readable about Say Please and, though it's not my typical style, I really enjoy Miyamoto's art. However, I really didn't like the
So...I kind of liked it but also wouldn't really recommend it.

The short story "A Bird at Sea, A Door in the Sky" is the treasure in this manga. It's not sexy; it's barely yaoi, but my oh my is it endearing and humanistic. I was touched by the perceptive and subtle ways the author showed us how this suffering and guilt-ridden young man matured through his brief encounters with a foreigner; he begins to see his life--and his father--in a compelling new light.
The main story is decent; I enjoyed my non-stop read. The art is expressive and clean, but the plot moves a bit fast and the seme is never really explored properly which leads to a slight disconnect with my emotions.
Love Miyamoto Kano's art work, although the characters from different series often look similar they always have such tender looks that evoke to emotions meant to be conveyed.
