Ed Sterling is a marriage counselor who writes the book, "Flannel Gowns and Granny Panties." Ed has a happy life with his beautiful wife and two lovely daughters until the book is published then his wonderful life begins to fall apart.
Ed tells the funny and engaging story of how he wrote the book and what happened to him along the way. There are humorous stories about the couples he counseled and about his zany editor. If you are looking for a fun, engaging story with interesting characters and laugh out loud moments, you will enjoy this book.
People ask me often what genre do I write for. I write stories not genre. I know that is not the popular thing to say as a writer or the best way to make money writing but its true. Once a story comes to me, I have to write it. It's like having a song get stuck in your head, a good story does that to me. A story comes to me and I am obsessed until I get it completed. People tell me often that they love my stories and I hope you do too.
What a fun little book ... it was about a marriage counselor who wrote a book and what happened to him along the way. It made you laugh and it made you cry. I would recommend it to anyone who likes humorous reading. You don't find many books like this.
I laughed until I cried in one scene of the book. There were also some touching accounts as well; could possibly guide more people to see that counseling could possibly be a help in their lives. Gentle with a sense of humor.
I really enjoyed this! The characters were a hoot! The part in the airplane was funny and if you travel at all you will relate to it. The test is also fun to take!
April 2018 Book Club Pick; a couple of good ideas/leads through the book to elicit discussion in Book Club; funny aspect of title gets overused; could not figure out where the story was going for more than 3/4 of the book (things did get tied together at the end - sort of); very easy read; multiple format/grammatical/spelling mistakes. Attempt at funny, with much to be desired.
This book is hilarious. I wondered at first but have to admit that it was the title that led me to read it. I laughed a lot and for me that's s not always the case.
So funny. I could not put it down! Enjoyed the stories and meeting the characters in the book. So glad i finally read it. I will be telling my friends about this book. A definite five star rating from me! Thanks for a great read. Write some more books soon.
This was a great book. I could not put it down. I am so glad I decided to read it.
This was an enjoyable book from the perspective of a marriage counselor. The imagery was great and I often laughed out loud. I would recommend it to anyone wanting an interesting, light read.
A light hearted look at councillors and writing tell all stories. A nice simple marriage counselor battles his way to a best seller. Along the way he estranged family, friends and colleagues. A fun rainy day read.
This was an interesting twist on a book. I read it because of the name and I was very surprised it was totally different than what I thought it would be. I enjoyed it immensely!
Funny and outrageous in ways and annoying in others. I felt bad for Ed at times and thought he was a jerk at several times. The writing also was a minus for me- choppy and wordy at times; too much description in some areas and not enough in others. I didn't feel like Ed grew as a person during this story as much as he revolved around the other characters that did change.
