The army vs the monsters vs the clergy
Blackthorne's army sets out to kill the monsters. When Winthrop recruits most of the men to his side and they chant with him instead of fighting thing go bad fast. Beck and Oliver escape. Meanwhile in Breighton Tenbrook has put all the resisters on pyres including Evan. The largest part of this book is on the army and Breighton. On to book five, I want to see how the story continues.

Good. Not as good as previous ones
Writing is still very compelling, but I was not as entertained as with the other books. There is a lit happening, mostly a lit of fighting. The description of these were very realistic specifically the behaviour of the camp followers. Both on the field and in town too much gore for my taste.
W/o giving away the plot lets just say that u are in for a lot of unexpected deaths & twists in the storyline. Yet, I did not find this particular bk as compeling nor felt as enthralled as with the others.
Anyway the writing is still very good and I'll continue buying and reading this saga. At this point I am really interested on what they will do with Ivory.
Keep at it.

Awesome
The keynote in the series has been that most of the characters are driven by fear. Unfortunately, their leaders are also and everyone is following their separate agendas. No one in this stew of betrayal and plots is sharing facts that their allies might need. A madman, or properly a second madman is poised to take control of the doomed army. A third madman is determined to assert total control of the last town.
It gets gritty. Religion and military strength usually leads to a bloody mess in a medieval environment. This book delivers it all. The impact of all these different threads, including the desires of little people are creating a situation that no one could have predicted.
You will certainly enjoy this volume.

The book was really good, and I finished it quickly. I like how different characters take center stage throughout the series, and in this installment, we focus mainly on Oliver, Blackthorn, and Beck. In particular, the two ministers—whom I don’t actually have much sympathy for—are shown from a different perspective. But we also get to know Tenbrook and his cruelties now that Blackthorn has left Brighton.

What a crazy and cruel world. So glad I do not live there with all those cruel idiots.
In the beginning I must admit finding it hard to get all the characters.I got confused easily, especially with Evan and Beck and Frances. They appeared all the same to me.
As does the mother and daughter in the forest and as do Ivory and Oliver. They share similar characters which is not a compliment.
That being said I still want to know what is going to happen but as I am now in book 5 I do not think that much as I hoped would happen, will because time is too short.

Awesome
This series had me hooked from the start. The world is built with suchb detail and the characters so do complex in thought, actions and growth it that it is easy to revision both. Great writing! Each book is better than the previous one and the story flows easily. It is not forced. Highly recommend this book and series as well as the other books this author had written. Ive NEVER been disappointed in any book this author had written. Very talented.

The Last Command is the fourth book in A Dystopian Society in a Post Apocalyptic World. This book continues with the alternating storylines of the different characters. There are several major events that happen in this book. Several main characters die and some new information comes to light. I can’t wait to start reading the next book in the series!

Another one down, This one has a lot of action, I was please to find that this had a fair few zombies in this one. However Ivory and Jingo were left out a lot in this book, I was very interested in their story but it almost feels like they were forgotten. However I find Winthrop development in to a madman intriguing, I was expecting this outcome. But it has added so much to the story. 3.5 stars

Wow
This book has left me feeling .... Unsettled in the best kind of way.
Things that made me appreciate this book the most:
The actions of men backed into a corner with only bad choices left.
The actions of men who have choices and choose violence.
The actions of men who have forgotten their humanity entirely.
I'm going to go read the next book now.

Walking Talking
This is like watching "The Walking Dead", upset because it's over with no ending and yet anxious to read the next book. SPOILER: I wish it had been Winthrop instead of Blackthorn.

A must read!
I can't say stress how great this series is. I am kinda sad I'm fixing to start the last book! However, I saw last night there is another series about this series! I'm so excited. These guys are talented! Keep them coming please!

The version that I read was book four from "The Last Survivors Box Set: The Complete Post Apocalyptic Series (Books 1-6)". A continuation of the story started in book one. Once more, it's more of the same, AND yes, that is still a good thing!!

Things are getting serious now so 4 stars. You would think by now I would know better than to read these she I'm supposed to be going to sleep, next thing you know it's 6am and another book is finished.

It´s the fourth book, so everyting is already well stablished. In this book, there isn´t so much rush, it´s kind of slow, or slower paced, but but we have a lot of Oliver, and he´s amazing. So in a nutshell, another great book, with a good cliffhanger to the second last book.

Ok, We now have to many characters. I don't get why the general would choose to sacrifice so many people to avoid the famine. Why not come up with a better plan than that. For me the only interesting characters are Jingo and his side kick Ivory.

This series just gets better with every book. The world building is excellent and keeps you invested in the interplay between characters. A couple unexpected twists keep the end of this book exciting and ready for the next.

The series gets better
I like post apocalyptic thrillers and this series is certainly among the best I've read. I would recommend it to anyone with similar interests.
