Hanbok is increasingly emerging into the spotlight following the popularity of Korean television dramas, which are often set in the past, and also through efforts to promote hanbok on the global stage. Renowned fashion designers around the world have taken note of hanbok and have incorporated elements of hanbok into their own work. This book will examine the origins, history, and the unique characteristics of hanbok and its contemporary standing.

A fast read, lots of photos, a great introduction to the history of hanbok. I would have loved a more thorough history, and there's no such thing as too many photos of hanbok so of course I wanted more! A good beginning resource though.

Considering how short the book is, I found it to be incredibly informative in both the historic and modern history of hanbok. It's a great guide for those looking to get a taste of Korean fashion. It would be interesting to see future editions discuss the new trend of "sparkly" hanbok, particularly popular among Korea's SE Asian visitors.
