Five stars aren't enough ...
From the moment I started reading this book, I knew without a doubt, that I just one-clicked the best book of 2016. Taken By Two has blissfully sated me and yet, at the same time, I'm sure it may have ruined me for a while. It'll be a daunting task to find another of its kind that will compare to this treasure.
The story revolves around three people who are equally damaged in their own unique way. Penny, a rich, spoiled, twenty-four year old—Nate, a late twenty-something internet billionaire and —Rex, a forty-something, ex-military/DEA survivalist. All three have been put together for a reason: Nate (whom Penny already knows) and Rex kidnap Penny in order to keep her safe from someone hired to kill her. They bring her to a remote part of Columbia where together, or in any combo, they've placed themselves physically, sexually, and emotionally on the line for each other: in doing so, they become complete. From the casinos of Las Vegas to the safety of Rex's compound in Columbia, Penny, Nate, & Rex find out just how connected they are—a six degrees of separation, in a sense.
After the kiss, Rex held up left his hand, three fingers splayed out at us. “Three,” he said. “We are three. I love you both.” I reached up three fingers and held them to Rex’s. “Three, I love you both,” I repeated. Nate gulped hard before holding up three fingers from his left hand to ours and repeated the words that I knew would become an oath between us for the rest of our lives—“ Three, I love you both.”
This book is one of the best stories that I've ever read in my life. The captivating and sensual storyline, a crystal clear attention to detail and impeccable grammar, has made this a minimum five star read for me. MMF/Suspense ~ definitely a must read!
