It is sad to see this series come to an end. I must say the ending is less than satisfying. Maybe that means there is going to be a spin off series.
Captain Scott wants to attack the Jung and destroy their ability to attack Earth again. Admiral Galiardi is against expanding the war beyond the Sol system. Captain Scott and the Alliance are again thinking outside of the box for a solution. I found that I had to pay attention during battle scenes as Brown had the Arora jumping, but coming out of the jump he would switch to a fighter or the Celestia. The author kept this style up throughout the book as a way to move quickly between various components of the fight. The Jung battleship, the Alliance, acquired in the prior book and rebuilt to include a jump drive goes into battle action in this story. The ending was most unexpected.
I enjoyed the gunship factory and the Princess’s engineering feats. I also enjoyed, for the last time, the superb space battles and all the various characters that are like old friends to me. When will I again hear “The jump flash passed over the bridge”. I do hope Brown will continue this series in a spin-off of some type.
I read this as an audiobook downloaded from Audible. It is about fourteen and half hours long. Jeffrey Kafer did an excellent job narrating the series.

I should mention right away that my appreciation of this book (or rather lack thereof) is heavily tainted by my personal opinions. As far as I am concerned the ending pretty much ruined the entire series for me. To me the ending is not only highly tragic but also reeks of cheap Hollywood style chock-the-audience type of cliff-hanger ending. I am not even sure if it is a cliff-hanger or the very-final-real-end ending since it is the end of Part I and it remains to be seen if Part II follows directly in the time line or not. I know that I am a sucker for happy endings so I try to give some leeway for bad endings but this one was so far out on the other end of my scale that I simply cannot bring myself to forgive it.
The majority of the book is quite okay. The fight against the Jung continues. There are quite a bit of build up of forces and fortifications. All our (remaining) old friends are back and there are of course quite a bit of action going on. The Jung are getting quite a few surprises along the way although they also demonstrate what kind of ruthless, criminal scumbags they are…on a planetary scale.
Unfortunately a political element is introduced in the form of a despicable Admiral inclined to political scheming and such deplorable nonsense. As usual when politically inclined people stick their fingers where they should not be, which for politicians is most places, this is to the detriment of most people and in this case the remaining free humans. Well, at least it might be if this douchebag’s plans succeeds. I could definitely have been without that nonsense.
However, what gripes me the most about this book is the absolutely lousy ending. I simply hate it! This 'episode' of The Frontiers Saga is slow to start (due to needed buildup), but the climax is astounding.
I have some complaints that keep me from giving my usual glowing review, however...
Resolutions to certain issues of personality (needed) for Jessica are here, but those issues and traits had been hyped so much in the past that the final outcome and reactions seemed 'off' a bit. The side plot with Synda and Jessica seemed forced as well. . The tendency to focus on ship design detail is still overdone to me, but I suppose I'm hypersensitive to it because of previous overdoses in other episodes. The plot moves forward, and the Jung mentality is explored some more, but it almost comes too late to give the 'shock ending' a pertinent background to explain its necessity. I get it (the ending), but it is not what I've come to expect in this series, so I was sort of thrown out of the story at the end. It did not have the emotional effect it was intended to have for me. I suppose that was because I saw it coming a mile away.
On a positive note, there was some sneaky-sneaky going on at the end that I'm sure will come into play. There will be sequels, as this was supposedly the end of Part I of the saga. I am still hooked on this story, and I look forward to the next installment. Unfortunately, I can only give this one 2.5 stars and call it a Descent Read.

A mediocre ending to an otherwise enjoyable series. My enjoyment was tempered somewhat by the advertisement on Ryk Brown's main page that each part (as in these 15 episodes) is a self-contained story, stating that "all story arcs begun within a part are concluded during that part." This was decidedly NOT the case, with a cliff-hanger ending and at least half-a-dozen major subplots that were never wrapped. Be aware of this; however, if you have read this far you might as well finish it up.
Critiques of this part overall:
There is significant re-use of threats and plot devices such as "ship is hit mid-jump and crashes" or "thing that we just spent a book or more obtaining was destroyed arbitrarily" to the extend that I went through long periods where the series was spinning its wheels and the story was not progressing. I enjoy a scrappy group of smart people coming up with clever solutions with limited resources as much as the next guy; however, while reading an entire book (or more) only to be returned to square one (or worse) does accurately depict the ebb and flow of war it also makes for a significantly less enjoyable read.
This is where strong characterization can keep a story like this from slowing down. The second bombardment of Earth is a good example of Ryk showing us Captain Scott's willingness to lose the battle to win the war as a maturing moment for his character. However, the characters themselves lack significant arcs outside of the first few books. Nathan's change from a unwilling pilot to capable Captain is more-or-less complete by book three or four, after which plateaus through the remainder of the books. Even after that moment nearly leaving Earth he appears to remain unchanged. Cameron, Abby, and Vlad see little development after the return to Sol, what little there was to begin with. Eli pops in again but is killed before anything interesting could happen with the remaining Scotts (a death I was sad to see), and although Ryk hints at developing Nathan and the relationship with his Father into something greater, it never comes to fruition. Admiral Dumar, Tug, and Delzia arguably become the most interesting characters in the second half of the series.
The final book, number 15, let the characters breathe a little bit without yet-another-Jung-battlegroup breathing down their necks to great effect. Unlike most of the series, there were several great character moments and conversations. You could argue that the immense pressure and short timetable of these events precludes serious character development; on the contrary, it is these times that we change most. I did not feel that here.
This part also suffers from a replication problem and would be well served by condensing many of these episodes down. This doesn't need to be through removing events, but instead by trimming much of the filler. Jump countdowns intercut with unimportant dialogue appear on what feels like almost every page of this 15 book series. There were many, many scenes I felt like I had read several times before, primarily:
* Josh and Loki in the cockpit of something where Josh complains about how bored he is, they argue about whether or not to say "Jump complete", or Loki is surprised then Josh swears and pulls a crazy maneuver
* detailed descriptions of procedural or otherwise uninteresting events, such as two ships docking, take-off, landing, simulator battles (with several annoying bait-and-switch scenes), or ships, systems, or technologies that we are familiar with already
* how blinding the jump-field flash is or it forming or dissappating
* Vlad and Nathan eat dinner, which is only sometimes interesting or purposeful
* Jessica forms a strong relationship with a person and yells at other people or is irritatingly insubordinate regarding that person
* sudden sabotage that is quickly ignored or forgotten about
* laborious ground battle sequences which rarely added to the tension of the battle, especially later on (notable exceptions: boarding actions of Jung/other ships)
* yet another HALO jump, whether Jessica or the Ghatazhak
* many, many, more...
Additionally, there are many subplots that appear or disappear when it is convenient or seemingly no reason. I am, as I have stated above, disappointed that many of these (often time-consuming) threads did not resolve or had little or no effect on the story or our characters. In some cases, these subplots involved major changes in character loyalties, appearances, or the galactic balance of power that were never addressed again. The sudden cliff-hanger ending was quite a bit of a letdown, especially considering it came on the heels of a lengthy discussion of motives and opportunities for both factions. To suddenly flip the temperament of the Jung after witnessing overwhelming evidence to the contrary was dissatisfying.
Lastly, many editing and typographical errors or inconsistencies. Several scenes--even on a careful read--make no sense, reversing what character is or should be speaking. In long battle sequences (see: tedious ground battles) which character and to whom they are speaking is difficult or impossible to track with rapid (often paragraph to paragraph) scene changes or point-of-view changes. Little things like "insured" versus "ensured" or "it's" versus "its" stand out occasionally. Some narrative inconsistencies with things like shield technology make the ubiquity of absurdly powerful shielding occasionally frustrating. Likewise with the sudden appearance of game-changing new intelligence to either the Jung or our characters.
Overall, I did enjoy this series, rating most books about a 3.5 range (1-4). Good turn-off-your-brain military sci-fi pew-pew laserbolt battle sequences, interesting technologies and explorations of the potential applications of that technology, with mostly serviceable characters. The series draws heavily from shows like Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek (tons from Voyager particularly), and others and the influence shows. However, Frontier Saga brings some new things to the table and hell, I read 15 books of it so it couldn't have been that bad.

A boring disappointment
This book like the 2 before it is tedious and redundant. I only read about 10% and the rest I scrolled through and picked out certain words at a glance if something interesting happens. Otherwise its all ship building, breifings, test flights, simulators and training. Its like reading a text book or owners manual. The ending sucked but its not hard to figure out where hes going in the next series. Im assuming Nathan was injected with a shit load of nanites to destroy the jung nanites he is sure to get so he can infiltrate the empire without them knowing hes not really under their control. Im just guessing though. Theres a lot of holes and plots that went nowhere so maybe we'll find out what happens later. Not sure I want to continue and maybe by the time it picks up again ill have forgot about it and wont care.

Great story, bad editing
Story continues to evolve. This is pretty much the end of the "season" and it ends on an appropriate cliffhanger. Brown's story telling and characterization continue to evolve. Along with my devious gripes (reminder of previous story, character listing, and stop calling everyone mister all the time) the editing of the battle scenes left something to be desired. The scene would change setting, from Aurora to a fighter, to a ground action, to the Celestia with no break other than a new paragraph so it was easy to get confused why new characters were talking. A note of where he was switching to or even a blank space would have been helpful.
All that being said, looking forward to Episode II later this year.

I loved this series and have given 5 stars to all the books, but the ending of this one was AWFUL! If this is truly the final book in the series, I am disappointed. There are A LOT of unanswered questions and the tragic ending felt too abrupt. I'm not a fan of tragic endings, so I'm biased, but I still feel like it was cut off too soon. What happened with the stolen shuttle/ box ship? What was the point of view f that whole story line with the 1000 yr old "captain"? Just for him to start a cult and disappear? Weird. And what of the PC & the Takaran nobles?

This is the 15th and final installment of Ryk Brown's Frontier Series. I am sad for it to end as I really enjoyed the hero, Nathan Scott's, journey. Again, a bit too much FTL, hard-drive, jump, snap-jump and battle lingo for me but all in all I enjoyed this series. Much to explore about the cost of war, revenge, retaliation and sacrifice.

So much of this book is just copy and paste filler, I was literally skipping pages at a time. There are literally maybe 2 lines TOTAL in the first half that might point to a subplot, and these are never reference again.
The ending was a good but very, very rushed. If you like the series, you'll like this entry, but you can honestly skip the first couple hundred pages.

Good yarn and standard fare.
A big fan of the series. Not sure where its going. A couple of not so positive endings and my desire to continue is in doubt. Hopefully the next installment will be a little more victorious. :)

15 book series might be tad too long, struggled to finish it. Can't believe there are 45 or 60 more coming over the next few years. Not sure I'm going to read them all...

What the... series finale, I want more.

And so it ends (for now).
I started Aurora: CV-01 all the way back in September. 15 books in Part 1 of a series? Sure! Over the books, Ryk Brown has quite obviously improved his craft and built quite a deep world.
That being said, That Which Other Men Cannot Do was something of a disappointment to me. After 15 books of building up the Jung as this big bad, we've spent a few now with the Aurora and co kicking butt and taking systems back and the first 3/4 of this book is more of the same. New designs, new ships, new missions, trial runs, and oh so many highly detailed fight scenes in space... and it's really all starting to get a bit old. Up through the halfway point, this would have been one of my lower rated books in the series.
When they finally find the Jung and take the fight to them, that was a pretty crazy fight. But on the other hand, the stakes never really felt real. Millions die, entire worlds are destroyed... and it's all for what? Big crazy tech space battles! That is certainly well done and takes the whole book up a notch. I just wish it were earlier.
Most of the characters I've really come to know and enjoy. It's interesting seeing them each grow and change over 15 books and how they all interact. The one that annoys me the most I would have to say is Jessica. She just gets away with too much. She should have been fired or moved to just special ops several books ago. If she can't deal with authority, put her in another command structure already. She already does it to some extent. Just make it permanent.
And then it ends. With a cliffhanger, which I've come to expect from this series, although seeing it in the last book of Part 1 was... a bit jarring. But you know? I think in this case it works.
And then I find that there are already two more series out:
- Fall of the Core with 4 novellas as a prequel to the main series and about the Digital Plague
- Part 2: Rogue Castes with 13 of 15 books published so far
- A total planned 3 more parts for 5 total, each with 15 books (that's crazy)
I'm a bit burned out at the moment, but I'm going to have to give them a chance at some point.
Side note: What in the world was with Captain Dubnyk? I kept expecting more from that plot. Perhaps next time around?
What they have not yet seen, is that we are willing to go above and beyond, to take that extra step, to cross the furthest line…that we are willing to do what other men cannot do…what the Jung already do. That is a valid reason to attack the Jung home system.

Millions die, entire worlds are destroyed... and it's all for what? Big crazy tech space battles! That is certainly well done and takes the whole book up a notch. I just wish it were earlier.
Most of the characters I've really come to know and enjoy. It's interesting seeing them each grow and change over 15 books and how they all interact. The one that annoys me the most I would have to say is Jessica. She just gets away with too much. She should have been fired or moved to just special ops several books ago. If she can't deal with authority, put her in another command structure already. She already does it to some extent. Just make it permanent.
And then it ends. With a cliffhanger, which I've come to expect from this series, although seeing it in the last book of Part 1 was... a bit jarring. But you know? I think in this case it works.
And then I find that there are already two more series out:
- Fall of the Core with 4 novellas as a prequel to the main series and about the Digital Plague
- Part 2: Rogue Castes with 13 of 15 books published so far
- A total planned 3 more parts for 5 total, each with 15 books (that's crazy)
I'm a bit burned out at the moment, but I'm going to have to give them a chance at some point.
Side note: What in the world was with Captain Dubnyk? I kept expecting more from that plot. Perhaps next time around?

We’re back with Captain Nathan Scott and his crew aboard the Aurora. This is a fun series that has lasted forever. I don’t think I’ve had the pleasure of reading a series all the way through 15 books. And each one was very exciting, extremely difficult to put down, and I was very sad when I finished each one. This one is just like all the rest. Very exciting although most of the action is pretty one-sided for the Alliance. They are liberating worlds out to thirty-lightyears from Sol. They attack the Jung quickly and with deadly force so much so that the Jung don’t realize they have been hit until their ships are torn apart and drifting in space.
Captain Scott is now a part player in the Alliance. With Admiral Dumar in overall charge, Nathan Scott’s role is getting a little smaller each book. We hear even less of Cameron and the Celestia even though it is in dry dock for an extended period of time. The Aurora is soon to follow into dry dock as all the Alliance assets get repair and restored to fighting condition. The Ghatazhak are still present with Commander Telles fully in charge. They are a mean as ever, but there are few and few of them as they are the brunt of the ground forces. It’s now up to some of the Alliance planets to start drafting volunteers to build and Alliance Army trained by the Ghatazhak. These ground troops won’t be any where near as efficient as the Ghatazhak, but they will server the purpose and fight for the Alliance.
Two things in this book happen that surprised the heck out of me. The one involved Tanna and the other is at the end of the book. I won’t go into detail about either one, but the first one should not have happened. The Alliance was acting pretty dumb to let it go the way it did. Eventually, the Alliance will get payback, but it’s far too late in coming. The second thing happens at the last. It is astounding! I, for one, don’t believe it would have ever happened this way, but I’m not the writer so it did. Wow!
I don’t know when the next book will be out. Looking at the writers website www.frontierssaga.com, it appears we have a bit of a wait before this series continues; may be even a year! That’s a long time to wait. I somewhat understand the writers reason, but I don’t know if I’ll be that interested in reading a new series or Part 2 after a whole year. Still, there are plenty of other writers out there to fill that year, so it might just go by faster than I think.

For something that has been highly touted as a finale / conclusion of the long saga before the author starts a new era of the series, this was not the case: it is the usual cliffhanger with a “to be continued” ending. While much longer than previous episodes, there appeared to be a lot of filler material that just kept going and going in order to get a longer word count or more pages read to maximize the payout under the Kindle Unlimited program: this book really needs to go back to the editorial process.

It was very frustrating to be reading along in a battle scene and the next sentence jumps to someone else in a different situation. You have to stop and wonder just what the heck is going on before you realize you’ve switched from the Aurora’s command deck to a fighter situation or on the ground somewhere. This happens all throughout the book.
• There is a whole series of scenes with the former Captain Dubnyk which either adds nothing to this title or is trying to set the stage for the next chapter of this series. If Dubnyk is going to be a central character or the next portion of the series, we’re probably going to lose a lot of readers who have stuck with the series so far.
• The battle scenes have become unrealistic: I find it impossible the Alliance fails to lose any ships yet the Jung have everything smashed to bits. Sure, technology can get you a long way but the force of numbers should allow the Jung to destroy more than one Alliance vessel.
• Jessica Nash is not the same character she was in the first two-thirds of the series. What happened to the kick-butt character we all used to like?

That Which Other Men Cannot Do is a brilliant, and appropriately jarring, end to the first part of the Frontiers Saga.
As with my previous reviews of this series, being 15 books in, I’m not going to say anything at all about the plot, as any detail could potentially spoil something or other about earlier books. But many people had conversations, hard choices were made, stuff gets blown up, and there are space-fights. And a conclusion to the first 15 book arc in what should eventually become a 75(!) book series.
When I started out reading this series, I was grading it on a curve: my expectations were low. All I expected was a quick and dirty, fun, space opera with space battles and spaceships and other space things. Now, at the last book, I’m grading it on the opposite end of the curve: I’m expecting to be emotionally involved with the characters, I’m expecting to be drawn into the story, and I’m expecting proper punches. And this book does deliver all of that.
However, as a book that’s supposed to be a conclusion to a 15 book section of a series, the first third of it seems a little misplaced – like it should have been part of the previous book, or even had a book of its own. There was enough setup before this that I expected things to be turned up to 11 from the start. They did get turned up to 11 all right, but getting there took too long.
That said, I inhaled the last half of this book. Parts of it were truly thrilling, parts of it were truly emotional, and it was unpredictable enough that I felt like a sense of expected fulfilment or resolution was being held back from me, while at the same time feeling like I was getting more than I deserved. It’s hard to say much about it without spoiling anything, but in one way the ending felt very wrong. In another way it felt very appropriate. I liked it a lot, but it made me very uncomfortable.
For every book I read in this series, the more sure I become that the Frontiers Saga is a series of books that will, at some point, properly take off. And the scope of this project, with 5 sets of 15 books having been promised, is massive. If all these sets end up being as good, or even close to as good, as the first set, it’ll be an absolutely remarkable achievement by Ryk Brown.

A drag to a some ending
*Spoilers*
The plot, in itself, is well thought out, if not poorly executed. The characters and combats are articulated in the usual fashion as the preceding books. However, the redundancy of "jumping in ... Three... Two... One" gets old quite fast and really pulls the reader out of the story.
Additionally, the character arch of Jessica is painful. Jessica has always been one with an attitude, and that's generally been acceptable because she was thrust into a role without years of experience. But as time goes on, it is no longer an attitude, it is simply whiny. She whines about everything, disobeys orders frequently, and all for what? So she can risk Alliance lives and assets for a friend? This is not the Jessica that killed the Emperor of Takar or left the marine to die in a submarine. This is an insubordinate child and it's painful to read.
Secondly, general Galiardi suddenly has clout? Will some petition suddenly dissolve the Alliance? What about the other world's votes? Are the Alliance assets all at the whim of Earth and the other worlds have zero say? But all of that amounted to nothing in the end, as it had no impact on the story. So why the drama?
The ending isn't bad. The last third of the book is more in line with the entire series of action and adventure, except for Nathan suddenly deciding to commit suicide when the Alliance clearly has the upper hand. The Jung have finally been attacked and were devastated. Their response is to become kamikaze crusaders for a holy war, but are satisfied by the death of one enemy? This simply doesn't compute.
I've really enjoyed the series but this book is nothing like the cheesy, lovable story about survival in a distant system. It's become about numerous, meaningless, points of view of some campaign somewhere that doesn't matter to anything. Put simply, the book just doesn't flow at all and the plot seems horribly forced as new characters are introduced just to be killed later in the same chapter.

That Which Other Men Cannot Do (The Frontiers Saga, #15) The title That Which Other Men Cannot Do is the tag line of the Ghatazak. It refers to the nasty but necessary killing and other decisions that are required of warriors. This is the theme of this novel. An Admiral asks the President if he wants a rival and potential Jung operative assassinated? A captain who has to issue orders he know will result in the deaths of friends and billions of individuals. A cult leader who must in his own mind sacrifice one or two of his followers to achieve his purposes. A leader who must decide weigh the potential consequences of attacking and enemies home world and with how much force. And of course the individual who must chose between the needs of the many versus the life on the one. These are the themes of this final chapter of this part of Browns truly epic space opera.
The summer is over and so is this part of a highly enjoyable summer read. I loved the characters and the situations they were placed in and how Brown resolved them. There were moments of high drama as well as dialog that caused me to laugh out loud. I was unable to quit reading this series once I started it. I will miss the characters Brown has created and whom I have come love and know this summer.
I am grateful to the Cleveland Public Library (CPL.ORG) and the Cuyahoga County Public Library (cuyahogalibrary.org) for buying the whole series . I could not have afforded to purchase the series on my own.

With political matters escalating on Earth, the Alliances leader decides to quickly continue attacking Jung troops to push back the circle around the Sol system to 50 light years. But when a Jung battleship shows up at Tana and it is apparent that the Jung plan to glass the planet, the political atmosphere on the Earth takes an abrupt change.
I feel like this is a season finale for my favorite TV drama and I just got left with a gigantic cliff hanger. Ahhhh!! How can you end the book this way??
I feel like even though Nathan has seemed to grow up and has gotten colder and farther from his emotions, this book proves he is still the same person that he always was. Two things, first I really hate the Jung captain that they took captive and I think he is purposely tricking Nathan. Second, I am really frustrated that Nathan fell for this trick.
The other character that bugged me quite a bit this time is Jessica. She has always been a bit of a rebel but she is being down right insubordinate. I feel like this is out of character for her and I was very glad Nathan had a serious discussion with her.
I am happy that the series is going on but I am kind of wishing Brown had figured out a way to end the series instead of continuing to drag it on.

What an ending to this 15 part saga. I really enjoyed the way the story wrapped up, although I do feel there could have been another 10-15 pages to finalize the story.

As the books progressed we began to see how impossible their mission was. Due to the overall greater force the Jung had we knew that there was no way they would be wiped out and because of their pride no way they would surrender. In the final pages of the last book Dumar mentions that the universe is so vast that if the Jung were to ignore the Sol system it is forever insignificant to them as there is so much more to conquer. I also like the final stalemate of the KKVs circling the Jung planet. I would imagine that the Jung would be able to easily produce their own KKV's or even just send a number of ships FTL straight into the Earth.
Overall Ryk Brown shown what an amazing scifi author he is and I hope his books continue to gain in popularity. I can not wait to eventually read Part 2, although the thought of having to wait months for new books is scary.

Great Series!
I've been waiting to review until after I finished part one, but it's been difficult. It's hard to put into words the journey of the last 15 books, but what I will say is this is one of the best series that I've read recently, and all I read is sci-fi. I love a long series, and the reviews for this one were good so I gave it a shot, and I don't regret a minute of it. Enjoyed the character development, the plot twists and the interpersonal relationships between the crew. Some of the battle scenes did get a bit repetitive, as in, jump the ship, aye, jumping, ship jumped, new coordinates? But I found myself skimming through these parts, quickly getting back to the nitty gritty. Some of the positioning was difficult to follow as well, I'm sure if I read enough of this genre I'll understand port and starboard, haha. Overall it was a great ride, I loved the Ghatazak as well as the fly boys, Josh and Loki. Great story, on to the second part for me!!

Surprise Ending
While a powerful finish to an awesome story line, it is sad to think that our hero will be sacrificed for an enemy to enjoy revenge for justice having been brought to their home world for their crimes against mankind. But that sentiment is the human way historically.
Escort will be a matter for the Alliance, and a powerful finish to this series! President Scott will urge the Askance to build deterance against the Jung and peace will only be accomplished with the distraction of one of the two civilization s in fortunately but that is how mankind rolls.
So far we have not met alliens! Of course mankind is strange enough on its own! Just look at the politics of the USA and the war in Europe will we never learn to let the peace that Christ brought to be our guide?

Fantastic story
I am a great grandmother and I love this series. I have only one thing that I didn't like and that was the ugly language it was very unnecessary it did not in no way add to the story I almost stopped reading the books because of it.
But the story was really good. When a book can make you laugh or cry that is a good story and this series did both. Not to happy , with the end of this book. I do hope there is another book and the author some how fixes the ending and he knows what I mean.
I didn't give it a five star rating because of the ugly language. Do not understand why an author has to resorts to that kind of language. Some of it a little ok except for the f word.

Amazing. Simply amazing.
This is one of the very best sci-fi series I’ve ever read or watched. The author has a natural way of drawing you into the lives of each of the characters, creating these vivid worlds and then offering some of the best narratives to complement them.
Though the reading spans 15 books, it’s well worth the journey. Each book will draw you further into this universe with a desire to see what happens next.
My only hope now is that we get to see this series turned into a movie or tv series.

A conclusion of sorts
The book concludes with a lot of excitement and a sense of victory. There are enough incomplete threads to open the door for part two. Will it ever end. Is there enough excitement to keep me coming back. I don't know. Part one was already completed when I began my marathon read. Perhaps the completion of past two will be the signal to start the next marathon read.

Thankful
I'm thankful this adventure is over. I've let this Saga take up too much of my time. It was so good I could hardly put it down. Sleepless nights I tell ya. You've been warned. I'm not starting Part II. I need to catch up on all the other things I've let slide while I was immersed in this universe and in the fight for the survival of Earth against the Jung. This last episode did not disappoint though the ending was almost predictable. Ryk Brown, keep it up! 😊

A rare 5* from me
Most of the book is 4*, however the ending is clever, well thought out and completely unexpected, getting a deserved 5* from me
There are a few moments when I thought, this isn't going to end well, yet at every turn, the alliance forces pull something out of the bag
The battles are a little drawn out at times, but the other aspects of the story, make up for it
Brilliant ending, I know the next series of books follow on, so can't wait to see how they starts

The battles are a little drawn out at times, but the other aspects of the story, make up for it
Brilliant ending, I know the next series of books follow on, so can't wait to see how they starts

I am giving this book a 1 because I feel this was the most dishonest series of books I have ever read. Shame on Ryk Brown. He manipulated us at about halfway through - wrote filler to stretch to 15 books only so he could NOT finish the story and make you buy more books. Do not read this series is my suggestion unless you want to be duped into his ploy and be very disappointed in the end!
