A cute book about being a team player, trying you best and not giving up. Great for boys & girls interested in soccer as it has lots of hints and terms related to soccer. Similar style to Wimpy Kid and WeirDo books - easy to read and fun for all ages
I'm not a sports fan by any stretch, but I really enjoyed this. It was positive and cute and I can imagine kids who aren't big readers enjoying this too.
I tried to escape through reading Tinny Timmy because I think my husband is having an affair with my sister. I want to confront him like Tinny Timmy does in the books, but I am not as strong as Tinny Timmy, or as good looking ;). But seriously, I find it hard to hide the bruises and I am so close to finishing the book. Most nights I am in bed tucked away, reading away at the pages and all of a sudden he comes home back from the bar. I can smell the whiskey on him and he is only a couple of meters away from me. I tell him I am reading Tiny Timmy and giggle, I am afraid that angered him. He stormed over to my side of the bed and yelled "I don't want you reading those silly fantasy books any more women! Tiny Timmy is a loser and has no friends. He's failed as a footballer and now a writer!" I managed to push him off me and make my way to the exit, but it seemed he brought some of his pub goons along with him. They blocked my exit and my husband began to undo his belt. I was apprehended by the goons and brought to my husband. "You dummy man!" I screamed, he started to deface my book with his pee pee. I slapped his small man bits and said "No! Bad. I love Tiny Timmy.", he looked like he enjoyed the first slap but he kept insisting he hated it and it was his only weakness. With that information, I started to strike repeatedly at his pee pee, he cried out saying "N-no ple-easeeeee stop baby." as he crunched up his face. My plan work, I found his weak spot and now I could plan my escape. As I was acting my plan I looked for an exit, but before I knew it; he started bleeding out white blood cells from his bits and I said "Oh no honey I am sorry! Please don't be mad." His attitude changed and he was acting a lot nicer, "Don't worry love, sorry I attacked you before." He left the room with his friends, I think I established my dominance and now I can defend myself. Just like Tiny Timmy.
This is the first book in a series I’ve read and reviewed previously. At that time I didn’t have the first installment. Tim Cahill did become a soccer superstar and these books show his determination from an early age to reach his goal.
Tiny Tim wants to join the school team. He trains hard with his brothers and friends to improve. The coach notices him at school but tells him he’s too small. He keeps trying.
His family and friends encourage him. He starts by being the orange boy. Then a teammate's dog comes racing towards him. He jumps to avoid getting bitten. Now he knows he can jump high, he needs to learn how to head the ball to others or into the net.
This early reader series is fun for kids of all ages.
Really great motivational read for the young and sports minded kiddies. A real ‘keep fighting the good fight, focus and stay on target to achieve what your heart desires” kind of message.
