Carter Remington is a stand-up kind of guy. He leads a quiet life, running his landscaping business and working out at the gym. Family is one of his main concerns. He likes to make sure his brothers and his parents are all okay. He used to think he’d have a family of his own to take care of someday. But that dream died the day he found his wife in bed with one of the ranch hands.
He’s realistic about his options these days. He’s content. He doesn’t need or expect any more than that in life. At least not until his favorite country singer, Summer Breese, comes to stay in the valley. She’s his dream girl and even sweeter in person than she seems in the media. She even seems to like him, too! But what’s the point? She won’t be here for long. Carter can’t let himself fall for her. He knows it’ll break his heart when she has to leave.
Summer Breese has come to Paradise Valley to recuperate. Her singing career was going from strength to strength until the day she found herself unable to speak above a whisper. Her doctors have recommended rest—for three months. Will three months be long enough to recover her voice, and will it be too long for her to resist, big, sweet Carter?
This book is intended for adult readers aged 18+
*************************************** Each Remington Ranch Romance can be read as a standalone. No cliffhangers here! Each book contains one couple's story.
Hi, I'm SJ. A coffee addict, lover of chocolate and drinker of good red wines. I'm a lost soul and a hopeless romantic. Reading and writing are necessary parts of who I am. Though perhaps not as necessary as coffee! I can drink coffee without writing, but I can't write without coffee.
I grew up loving romance novels, my first boyfriends were book boyfriends, but life intervened, as it tends to do, and I wandered down the paths of non fiction for many years. My life changed completely a couple of years ago and I returned to Romance to find my escape.
I write 'Sweet N Steamy' stories because to me there is enough angst and darkness in real life. My favorite romances are happy escapes with a focus on fun, friendships and happily-ever-afters, just like the ones I write.
These days I live in beautiful Montana, the last best place. If I'm not reading or writing you'll find me just down the road in the park - Yellowstone. I have deer, eagles and the occasional bear for company, and I like it that way :0)
Carter, the landscaping Remington brother, has been avoiding women since he caught his wife cheating on him years ago. Now his time is spent working at his landscaping business and the gym. And he cares about and for his brothers, their significant others and parents like no one else. He does have a crush on country singer Summer Breese, but she's out of his league and reach, right? When it turns out Summer is good friends with his brother Shane's fiancee Cassidy and that Summer is coming to visit & rest her voice for several months. Carter is sure he will not meet Summer. Shane and Cassidy have other ideas. Carter is a big, built sweetie. She is a quiet singer, tired of her hectic celebrity life. As they get to know each other, and realize how well they've connected, they realize their lives are not matched. Their journey to find a way to be together, while also traversing the effect their life changes will have on those around them, is heart warming and loving. Bashful, reserved Carter is a family man who has put others first for years. Summer is worried her interest in Carter will negatively affect others she loves and respects. Stepping out of his comfort zone, Carter proves he's all man and how important Summer is to him. Lovely story of a darling pair.
This latest installment of the Remington Ranch series continues the trend of feel-good romances from SJ McCoy. Carter and Summer's romance is both hopeful and bittersweet, with a perfect happy ending. I could see what needed to happen to solve the lovers' dilemma, but the way it happened was a bit of a surprise. If anything, though, I contemplated knocking off half a star for the few and--hmmm--rather lackluster sex scenes. They were, to me, far less steamy than the other books. I didn't mind so much--I know I may be in the minority, but I get tired of sex scenes. So maybe it was me more than the writing.
I have to say, though, I think I know what's going to happen in Beau's story. Or at least, WHO is going to happen to Beau. Should be fun. I predict seeing much more of a precocious little child named Ruth.
I was so excited to read Carter's story! I had read the first two books in the series and really enjoyed them, but I think Carter is my favorite. He was so hurt by his previous relationship but that didn't stop Summer from falling head over heels in love with him, and him her. I love how every problem thrown at them they figured out how to make it work. Great story, awesome characters! Now it's time for Beau's story!
S J McCoy is a new to me. And I'm very impressed with her writing skills. I don't even want to stop reading to go to work. Lol! I can't wait to find out what Beau's story is. After reading her series Summer Lake already, I'm ready to see Chance get his HEA!!!!! Till next time. Thank you S J McCoy.
I'm really enjoying this series and the Remington brothers. Carter and Summer's story captivated me from the beginning and left me with a smile. These two discovered that loved really does have a way of working things out. I'm anxious to read the next book.
Carter is a big goof. I loved him. He has so many feelings and is a true gentleman. I thought him and Summer were a good couple. I love how the family is in all the books. It’s a great escape.
## This is the 3rd book of this series. I loved the first book "Mason" but decided to skip Shane's book because he's such a man-slut, which I detest. I don't understand why authors think it's great to read about how a guy scre*s anything in a skirt and how he brings home a different woman every night of the week. Personally I find it off putting. But I guess I missed a part of Carter's story by skipping Shane's. That was a tad disappointing. It felt like I came in the middle of their story instead of the beginning. I felt a little lost at first, hence the one star deduction. Each individual book should stand on it's own. It should only enhance a story when reading the previous books in a series. Not be dependent on it. However, once I got past the first third of the story, everything was terrific. Carter and Summer had a strong connection for sure. Summer was so sweet and honest and I love that. I'm looking forward to Beau's story next.
I have decided I need to move to Montana to find me a cowboy. I have fallen for these Remington boys, if only I could find one. I loved this book, I was pulled in right from the start and if I totally honest I think Carter is my favourite out of them all. You can feel all the emotions within this book, as you can with the others but there is just something about Carter we actually I know what it is just don't want to spoil the book for anyone. There are twists and turns and surprises in this book, which make the book as good as it is. It does state that the books are standalone but I recommend that you read them in order as it helps to get to know the boys better. Brilliant book and a great series. I highly recommend them all.
I love a feelgood romance and this is so far my favorite out of the Remington Ranch series. Carter is a big teddy bear whose heart was broken by his wife when he caught her sleeping with a ranch hand. He has sworn off love. Then Summer arrives in town. Carter has had a crush on the petite sexy singer since he can remember but when he gets introduced to the real, down to earth woman behind the singer he falls for her. Summer is only staying while her voice recovers then she will be returning to Nashville. Can they find a way to be together when the push and pull of fame and family get in the way?
Carter is the quiet one. He doesn't make a fuss. He was betrayed by his wife, so he has given up on love. Or so he thought. Summer was only there to rest her voice. Once her voice got better, she would be returning to Nashville. However, when she met Carter, Summer started to think about staying in Montana. Would it be really so hard to give up her life in Nashville ? He voice sure knew the answer to that question. It was so sweet reading how Summer + Carter fell in love. Awww!
This is such a beautiful love story, between two people who feel they have to climb a mountain to get their happily ever after..and it seems insurmountable from every angle. Carter and Summer are perfect for each other and are willing to settle for "right now" instead of "forever", but their friends and family do all they can to make sure that they have the "forever" they want and both deserve. I love this series and highly suggest you give it a read, you wont be disappointed!!
Carter wow he us something else and met his match in Summer. So glad he didn't run off and stay gone. Being honest with summer brought it all together for them as a couple! He took the "bull" by the horns to keep his woman in his life! LOVED it!!! Want more!
I started reading this series with the Summer Lake box set books 1-3)..... After I finished I kept readingthrough the series... Each story is its own standalone HEA, but then they ALL blend together and go SO well together. I've read through them all-(not just this series!), you will do the same!! I CANNOT wait for SJ's next book!!!
I am really enjoying this series about the Remington brothers. This book is dedicated to Carter and Summer. As Summer and Carter get closer to falling in love she has a big decision to make. Will she stay or will she go. I love most all the characters but I think Carter is my favorite brother so far.
Loved this book. Carter and Summers story was wonderful. i enjoyed the discriptions of the scenery of Montana. The plot of the romance kept me reading the story to find put what happened next..
I was looking forward to reading about Carter and I think Summer and him are perfect for each other. I was so hoping he would get his own happily ever after, especially after what Trisha did to him. Grab your copy and get ready to fall in love with another Remington brother.
Just when they think being apart for some time may be the only answer he takes a chance that could either make everything right or screw it all up for good fur everyone involved. Another must read!
I got this book on kindle unlimited and loved it so much I bought the series. I have a weakness for cowboys and once I started reading I couldn't put it down. Carter is such a good guy. Loving the Remington boys ❤️
Their story was the best story because they were both down to earth people. I've always wanted to meet Kurt Russell because I sensed that he was down to earth. Kathleen Ryan
These two are so darned cute and sweet my teeth hurt thinking about it. Loving the brother dinners but you're making me start to like Beau. UGH I don't want to like him....on to installment #4...
Great romance between Carter and Summer. This is part of a series but each book can be read as a standalone. I enjoyed every minute of this book and hated for it to end..
