Francine Paula Pascal was an American author best known for her Sweet Valley series of young adult novels. Sweet Valley High, the backbone of the collection, was made into a television series, which led to several spin-offs, including The Unicorn Club and Sweet Valley University. Although most of these books were published in the 1980s and 1990s, they remained so popular that several titles were re-released decades later.

Confession. I hated Devon when he first appeared. Hated. I read the books he's in and then promptly 'lost' them so that I wouldn't have to deal with his storylines again until I was good and ready.

This is the fallout from Devon and Todd realizing that Liz has been screwing around on both of them. They get into a fist-fight and Liz climbs aboard her high horse and tells them both off.

Which has always bugged me. She cheats on Todd with Devon. They get mad and fight. That sucks, yes. Violence is not the answer and all that, but they're both still... crazy over her. It never occurs to either one of them to dump her.

And the book itself doesn't seem to really find anything wrong with this because Liz is like, totally in love with both of them. Really? I'd buy that if she didn't cheat on Todd every chance she got, but she does/did.

Liz is mad at Jessica who set her up to get busted, because that's the worst thing ever. (Riiiiiiiiiiight.) Liz goes out to learn to survive in the woods/world on her own and to kill time, Todd picks up mountain biking. While on an endorphin high, Todd mellows out in his rage towards Devon. Sadly he seems incapable of staying calm without the workout.

Well played to whomever ghostwrote this. A decade later and the California eye-rolling over the sport of mountain biking sends you right back.

In the end, Liz decides to try being single for once and Jess freaks out because two available Wakefields at the same time is a recipe for disaster.

Wow was this one tedious. Liz choosing to go solo in the end I understand however, personally I think it would have much better if Todd and Devon had ditched her - after all she's the one who cheated.
