Jess finds himself still working in the territory of New Mexico after leaving Squire Steen, Sheppard Dace and Jake Hayden back in the town of Broughton after helping the three old lawmen rescue Sally Steen.
He finds himself in a shootout with Willie McIntyre in the town of Sheridan. He finally kills McIntyre after he took a young woman hostage in Dregs Saloon. The woman, Chastity, is a prostitute who works there and she hires Jess to hunt down and kill an outlaw by the name Vilmer Pritchard, who murdered and butchered her younger sister Rachael. She warns him that Pritchard rides with a bunch of thugs led by a man they call Reverend.
Jess goes on the hunt for Pritchard and ends up running into a woman bounty hunter by the name of Wildcat. She’s good with a gun, tough as nails and seems to be on a mission to bring down as many of Reverend’s men as she can by herself.
The farther south Jess rides into New Mexico, the more he learns about the Reverend, and what he discovers, he doesn’t like. Events seem to push Jess and Wildcat together and the more he learns about Wildcat, the more he likes her.

In 1990 Robert J. Thomas was sworn in as the full time mayor for the city of Westland, Michigan. He served twelve years, making him the longest serving mayor in Westland's history.
While he was mayor he wrote his first book titled, How to Run for Local Office, which has now sold over 25,000 copies worldwide.
He has written and published on Kindle, the Jess Williams Westerns series. Retired, he now lives in Mississippi with his wfe Jill.
I very much enjoyed reading this book. I have read all of the series and this novel was interesting enough to keep reading until finished without stopping. I recommend this book to everyone.
This one had some good plots and "heh" plots. The chemistry between the two was good....very tender and sweet. How they defeated the bad guy was typical Jess....take them out one by one evening the odds. But, the ending was empty. Like "why did the Reverend kill his wife and try to murder the daughter"? This is a totally unanswered question. And..."how did he get the title Reverend"? And..." why was he so evil"? Anyway, a good short read.
Really enjoyed this one. I had read one of Jess's books sometime time ago. With those two working together. But Don't remember the number. But this one finding out how they met. Good. JD
One of my favorite stories in the series! I really want to know who the mother of Jess Williams Jr is? Have I missed something? Really enjoy the books.
Another GREAT adventure of Jess Williams. On the trail with a secretive woman bounty hunter, whose looking for a deadly gang led someone called 'THE REVEREND.' A fast moving western as all of Jess Williams adventures are. I've enjoyed reading the series by Robert J. Thomas. I've read a lot of westerns by different authors, but I put Mr. Thomas up there with Zane Grey in two GREAT authors of the old west. Your going to enjoy WILDCAT. Ruthless and heartbreaking but the ending or maybe I should say the introduction of a new member of Jess Williams wide circle of acquaintances...a woman bounty hunter....
FIT has penned the 48th novel in the Jess Williams series. In Wildcat he meets a lady gunfight who bears a similar appearance to his past love. The two compete for the same crime violator, but are willing to share the reward. Wildcat saved JW twice and HE saved Wildcat once. This is a wild and Woodley western. This is an excellent read for the genre.....ER
Excelent book one of the best. The sex part was just enough to keep it very interestingbut, together they got the job done and parted ways, hopefully they will meet again. Read this book
Chose this rating because, it was one of the best of the best. Worth the money to purchase it.please read
R.J. Thomas, has done it again. I have read all 48 books and they keep getting better. Somehow MR. Thomas keeps coming up with great ideas for a new story. Wildcat is another great read. I am sure you western fans will enjoy this book. I must warn you, however, this novel is a "can't putter downer." So, "Giddy Up."
Mr. Thomas you just get better and better with each book. I have read all 48, and it is the best western series ever. If you like westerns you will love this series.
Jess goes against his better judgement and helps a female bounty hunter. The man she is after kills without a thought. A twist at the end solves a mystery.
