Great tribute to the Mamba, learned a couple cool facts and stories about his career that I didn’t know before. Love hearing from all different type of players from many eras, and just shows how different a guy like Kobe is. Only thing i’d say is it’s a little repetitive, and where the hell is LeBron?? I guess this book was written before he joined the Lakers but I mean the guy one a chip the year Kobe passed, would’ve loved to hear from him and AD maybe. Otherwise great book for a diehard Lakers fan.
Enjoyable read. I think most contractions from people’s quotes were edited out (hadn’t -> had not) and that took away from some of the conversational tone, but not a huge deal. All in all, a fun way to get the perspectives of many different people including broadcasters, legendary players and coaches on one of the GOATs.
This was the 2020 updated "Tribute Edition," which referenced the helicopter accident. Interesting mix of players and coaches, with opponents and teammates often having the same perspective about him.
