This book was both surprising and exactly what I expected. Jill Willard discusses the power of the intuition to provide clarity, purpose and healing, using examples both from her own life and those of her clients. Many of these are inspiring as you might expect - clients who have used their intuition to manifest the perfect job or home, and Willard's own story of intuiting a winning call on the black jack table in Vegas offers a bit of glam. By way of instruction, she contextualises the role of the inner voice in our every day lives and the evolution of the planet, offering the kind of guidance you might expect (e.g. put your phone down and seek out quiet time so you can hear your inner voice). That was what I thought we would be getting. The detailed and thoughtful discussion of each of the seven energy centres, however, surprised me. This was really revealing to me, and I appreciated her careful, thorough and nuanced description of what each energy centre is about and what it does for us both generally and in terms of strengthening our intuition. Willard offers various different practices you can try to strengthen each chakra and, in turn, your intuition. Guides, angels and God are all mentioned, but are not the focus on the book - you don't really have to be into the concept of a higher power to benefit from this read. Would highly recommend for anyone interested in enhancing their intuition. Might not be as revelatory for someone already really familiar with the energy centres and how they work, but even if you are, you maybe interested in how Willard contextualises each energy centre in the context of our individual lives, and where we are in western society.

I really wanted to learn how to be more intuitive, so I read this book hoping for some insight. I guess it was well written and did provide insight, but was SO far out there that I lost interest. I wanted practical, down-to-earth and BRIEF suggestions on ways to develop the intuition she says we all already have. Instead, each chapter was laborious, repetitive and weird, detailing how to heal emotional baggage that is carried in centers along the spine. I'm open to weirdness if it serves a purpose but when she started in on these centers that have to be opened up and cleared out of past emotional baggage before we can be open to intuition, that's where she lost me.

Jill Willard shares information about the 7 energy centers in a well organized and well written manner, including easy to follow charts that offer the reader tools to achieve balance in each center. The book has a lot of information about each energy center - including how our health and past experiences affect each center, and how we can support and nourish them. She also offers specific guidance on how to use meditation and nutrition to connect with our intuition. I found this book both interesting and informative and will definitely refer to it as I work to become more evolved, present, and centered.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I'd been looking for a way to reconnect with my intuition and this book offers up all the tools, tips and resources to bring your energy back into alignment.
Each chapter ends with a meditation and guide to each of your energy centres; it makes it easy to understand if you're out of alignment, or are in alignment and then what foods and activities will nurture that particular energy center.

While I knew that this book would focus on the spiritual side of intuition, it was interesting to read about it from the perspective of energy centres or chakras. It's the first time I've read about chakras more in-depth.

If you're looking to reconnect or connect with your intuition on a more spiritual level (not science-based), with guidance along the way, this is a great read.

As a side note, beginners might find it a bit new agey but not difficult to understand. Each meditation is described fully and an online community with the meditations is included.

3.5. Good information, at times preachy when the author veers away from her main topic into broader social commentaries. Among other things, the author seems to buy into the "being analytical is the enemy of intuition" idea, which I would argue is a false dichotomy (and that being analytical is a helpful filtering mechanism that actually is the friend of intuition!) Also, I wish she had been a little clearer about the basis for some of what she said...for example, which things was she (theoretically, anyway) directly intuiting, and which things were drawn from other sources (like, when she's taking about Chakras...this is a very ancient concept.) At other times, however, it was quite insightful.

I couldn’t get over that this was a watered down / westernized version of chakras and Ayurvedic healing. Jill Willlard gives lots of examples, but without the connection to the ancient ways, it fell a bit flat.

I enjoyed - the tables about each of the energy centers which I found to be actionable and good for reference.

I would have loved to see more of the history of yoga and the connection to Ayurvedic medicine.

I like what Willard has to say, but it felt like it could have been edited more/more concise.

I couldn’t finish this book. It’s actually a book about chakras that drones on and on. I got nothing out of it and had to quit.

Being intuitive is something you have to cultivate and to obtain the clearness of this type of wisdom you have to allow the Chi to flow free trough your chakras. A new vision that overlaps intuition with yoga theory, interesting and full of suggestion to meditate and obtain this target.

Not bad, focuses on chakras. Not all aligned with what I know about them, but interesting to learn a little more and how they tie to intuition. More around how to clear them each out and live a more balanced way of being.
