Hanna is the bestselling author of the Bound romantic suspense series and the Dark Angel fantasy series. Although she writes in more than one genre she can’t write a book without weaving together a complicated plot and filling it with twists. She writes what she believes: good people can do bad things, ordinary people can do great things, and choose love above everything.

If not writing, she can be found wandering a dusty market in Marrakesh or trekking a mountain in Peru, often using her travels as settings in her novels.

Oh my... (softly sighing.)
Again, this was a phenomenal book. It wrapped in all the aspects of the others I loved so much. The action, adventure, suspense, love & fulfillment. It was a beautiful end to their part in the series. I couldn't have asked for more unless it were to have more beforehand.
Anyways, even if you didn't read the rest, this one could work as a standalone also. You'll get it once you read it, so check it out.
Happy reading friends.

DISCLAIMER: I received a review copy of this book in exchange for honest review. This is definitely so worth your time! Any quotes from the book(s) are solely reference for the purpose of this review and not by any means used with disrespect. Yes, this review contains spoilers(which will be hidden here), but hopefully it will be fun to read.

Oh my goodness! This was so amazing! First of all: Even though this can be read as a stand-alone novel, as a personal choice, I read through the first Dark Angel novel (as it turned out, I happen to own a copy of the first book in the series, and I don't remember when I bought it) to become familiar with who the characters were (are) before bouncing into their afterlife.

Alyx is getting married. You know . . .

Well said, Balthazar. However, there is one problem with that detail, although she does not know it at the time. This man Alyx is going to marry . . . he is not her soul-mate. Her kindred spirit. Her other half. No, no, no! Anyone familiar with the series knows she is meant to be with a certain, handsome bad-boy-mortal. Alyx chose to be mortal. Nothing wrong with that, but come on! If I were in her place, and I did not sense that my heart was truly in it, I would cut it off and wait for the real thing to come around.

Okay, on the other side of the city, sitting on a bar stool, is the amazing Israel. No, not the country. He's all man. He does not remember this, but in his past-life he was a thief. In this life, he is, or was, a cop. (IDK about you, but something about a man, and former uniform, gets me weak in the knees.)

Enter Balthazar, Vix and Jordan. These are the friends of Alyx (and possibly Israel, if I recall correctly), though she will not remember them until later, after they reveal themselves. They KNOW Alyx is not meant to marry this guy in the suit. No, she's too bad-ass (mentally in this life) to be tied to someone so boring (no offense intended here, because I do love me a man in a suit!)! Back to the main point. Vix has a plan on how to get Alyx and Israel to meet, but there are consequences to those who interfere with Fate. Not that I blame Vix for wanting to step in, but sometimes patience does have its rewards.

Fate's consequence for the interference is knocking Alyx in the head with a stone gargoyle in a cathedral, right after meeting Israel for the first time (in this life). Of course, there is unexplainable attraction between them, though Israel has opened up to it a bit more than Alyx has (possibly because in her head she is engaged). Alyx and Israel have constant thoughts, actually they are flashbacks of former lives.

Alyx is in a coma, and is running out of time. If she does not wake up, she must pass on. Israel learns this and deep down he knows that he does not want to lose Alyx. He does not know why, but he knows he will not live with a second guilt. (We later learn what guilt that is, but worry not, because it is from the current life.)

Battles and memories; feelings aroused, or rekindled (if you will). This book has a lot to share and could recommend itself. Hanna Peach does an incredible job grabbing and holding your attention. Does it have a HEA? You would have to read to find out for yourself.

I received an eARC of this book via the author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of this review

The Afterlife of Alyx and Israel
by Hanna Peach is everything I wanted and more! Alyx and Israel are two of my favorite characters and to see them finally get their HEA was worth the wait. The story opens with three immortals in Purgatory (I’m not joking and if you’ve read the series you know what I’m talking about!). Vix, Jordan and Balthazar decide that Fate isn’t working fast enough for Alyx and Israel and it’s time for them to intervene. Alyx is engaged to someone not Israel and Israel is falling down the same path he took in his previous life. But their meddling results in Alyx being trapped within her own mind and only Israel has any hope of bringing her back.

As I’ve already stated, Israel and Alyx are two of my all-time favorite characters. As immortals, they were amazing. Israel was surly, passionate, and fierce. Alyx was a force to be reckoned with, fearless, and brave. I was a little concerned to read how being mortal with no memories of their previous lives would affect them, but Peach delivered! Alyx and Israel are just as memorable and the character traits that defined them shine through, even without their memories.

I loved seeing Jordan, Vix, and Balthazar again. This was a fun bonus to the story, even if their actions are the catalyst for the plot. They haven’t changed. Jordan is still a little jealous of Israel, even though he’s found love. Vix is still tough. And Balthazar is still the one with tricks up his sleeve. I found myself immediately drawn into the plot after just one chapter with them!

The plot focuses on Alyx and Israel and their race through the Dreamscape inside Alyx’s mind. It’s interesting to read as they learn who they once were compared to how they are now. The way their souls are bound together despite working against fate makes for an excellent, heart-wrenching read.

Overall, Hanna Peach did a fantastic job of continuing Alyx and Israel’s story. I was beyond impressed with how their mortal lives intersected with their previous. And yay for HEA!!!! Fans of the series, this is the book you are waiting for! New fan? No problem, you can read this book without any previous knowledge of Dark Angel though I still recommend you read them in order (my OCD brain can’t handle it any other way).

Afterlife of Alyx and Israel by Hanna Peach

Life changes for most individuals after 25 years although some are blessed to look great and have the life they imagined. However, if you have loved and lost those dreams may not manifest as envisioned.

In the beautiful love story Afterlife of Alyx and Israel written by the talented storyteller Hanna Peach the Afterlife of Alyx and Israel;two lovers from way back is uncovered.

The many changes that transformed the lives of Alyx and Israel in the past had them going through life with a sense of loss. This beautiful, graceful pair cannot fully conceptualizing what and why occurred to change things in their current state of being. The memories have been manipulated. Truly an unfortunate series of events that some lover must endure.

Alyx and Israel are blessed to have a few dear friends who have the energy to be overly assertive and downright nosey to play with fate to bring them together. Good ol' Vix, Balthazar and are Jordan and Elysia pressed to stop Alyx from making the mistake of her life across a few avenues. As you delve deeper into this love story to the HEA you laugh out loud, shake you head in wonderment and bit your lips in anticipation for things to develop as intended.

Ms. Peach does a great job of drawing in her audience with the numerous twists and turns and a disaster or two keeping her readers turning the pages as rapidly as possible, sighing at times in baited frustration as to how of two handsome, sexy, talented long lost lovers can meet and turn the world up right in the name of love and happy ever after.

I delighted in the realization that someway pure, romance will find two soulmates. Thanks to past and current friendships working the events that allow synchronicity to capture Alyx and Israel to redirect an under sided situation.

This in my opinion is an old fashioned vibe kicked up a notched to a modernized, fantasy with of love and appreciation of friendships that I think young adult readers need to reconnect with.

What a delicious ending to Dark Angel 6 series.

OMG!

This was a pinnacle of all endings.....seriously, nothing could have made this ending any better than what Peach has written.

The Afterlife of Alyx and Israel takes us into the lives of these two characters - as the title suggests - in their afterlife. Their fated paths cross once more and from then on both Israel and Alyx bark on yet again a dangerous adventure where together they must face not only challenges, but a growing attraction that neither can help or explain.

Can they solve the riddles presented to them throughout their journey in time?

Will they learn to remember their past lives? Can they even remember?

Will they be able to save themselves?

Both Vix and Balthazar cracked me up in this one, I mean I loved them in the previous books, but their wittyness with one another is hilarious, here are 2 quotes that made me cry with laughter, and thought you'd enjoy them like I did.

"Balthazar anorted. "Puh-lease. If the plan is diabolical then you need someone who is versed in all manners of diabolicaliness." "And you think you'd be any help?" she scoffed. "I am the Master of Disaster. The Shemin' Demon. I had a Ph.D in diabology."

"Vix snorted. "Literally. I'm surprised you could even attend. Shouldn't your kind burn up upon entry or something?" Balthazar gave her a horrified look. "Shame on you for perpetuating myths like that. I should report you to the Society for Reducing Public Stigma for Demons and Other Hell-Creatures."

The blurb added in the end gives us hope for future books, gives us an insight at finding out what happens to Lukas and Siana. I was wondering if they would get their own book and of course Peach, you didn't disappoint.

This book could not have been a more heart warming and unforgettable conclusion to one of the most captivating series I have ever had the privilege of reading. There simply aren't words to describe the brilliance of The Afterlife of Alyx and Israel.

An absolute must read!

Thank you Peach, for the ARC.

Great story line, great book, and thank you for writing it Hanna Peach!
The Afterlife of Alyx and Israel by Hanna Peach

The Afterlife of Alyx and Israel was a really good book. I was given a copy in advance to read and give my honest opinion. I have not previously read any of the Dark Angel Novels but will be reading them after reading this one. You can read this book as a stand-alone novel from the series. The story is based on the mortal lives of two former immortals that are bonded in ways they are unaware of. The story begins with Alyx being engaged to someone who is not Israel that instigates their former immortal friends to intervene because fate is supposedly taking to long. With them intervening though it causes an accident that leads to Alyx getting trapped inside a labyrinth with in her own mind. The only way to save her from this is if Israel goes in to help her. They then go through several different trials where they regain the memories of their immortal lives to try and escape.
I would definitely recommend reading this book. I found it exciting and very difficult to put down. It is not like all the top syfy fantasy books you see now days where the story is the same over and over again. I give this book 5 OUT OF 5 STARS. While reading I only found only two grammatical errors, which is very few compared to most of the books I have read lately. I found the storyline easy to follow, the detail and character development was amazing, and there was no point at which I became confused even though I did not read the story on their immortal lives.

I was given the privilege of being an ARC for this book ahead of its release and I must say it does not disappoint! You really can read it as a stand alone book but I would highly recommend reading the Dark Angel series first as you would be missing out.

The finale was worth the wait to find out what happens to Alyx and Israel. The story is easy to follow and gets you hooked early on. The author has a special way of creating an amazing world the characters live in. The characters themselves everyone can relate to, even though they are not all human!

This was a fitting end for Alyx and Israel but of course it wouldn't be complete without a few bumps along the way. A great read and a must for any avid reader.

If you have been following this series and couldn't wait for the story and of Alyx and Israel to get their HEA, then your wish has been granted! In true Hanna Peaxh fashion, love wins but it takes a lot to get there! I so enjoyed these two characters meeting for the first time again and the way they came together. I really enjoyed the secondary characters that came back, they were hilarious and added the right amount of humor to the story. This was an excellent book and the ending left me completely satisfied.

Reading Afterlife is a real bonus after everything that happened in the previous book, Angeldust.

Alyx works in a museum. She has suffered some loss and is now preparing to get married to Daniel. She is aiming to "settling" even though she feels that there is something missing in her life.

Israel lives in the same city. He seems to just exist with the feeling that he is waiting for something to happen. He is not quite sure what it is though.

Baltazar, Vix and Jordan are old friends from Alyx's and Israel's previous life. They decide to put a plan together to help these two find whatever is missing in their lives. Interfering with fate is not always a wise thing to do and this brings about some alarming consequences. When Alyx and Israel are unknowingly brought together, they have this sense of recognition and familiarity which they are unable to explain. This is when tragedy strikes and takes us on an incredible journey.

Alyx is stuck in a DreanScape and will be lucky if she gets out of it alive. Israel ends up in the same place and together, they face some difficult hurdles. They also have to face their own fears which materialise when they are in fighting their way through a maze. One of enemy from the past puts obstacles in their way. Will they be able to get out of the DreamScape before it's too late? Will Alyx survive?

Afterlife is an excellent addition to the Dark Angel saga. It's full of action and danger. Israel has a great sense of humour and tries to make light out of things even when danger is lurking. Alyx is very quiet and reserved but Israel brings the best out of her. The interactions between Baltazar and Vix are pretty hilarious. It's interesting to see Israel and Alyx in a different light and the attraction between them leaves no doubt that they are soul mates. A very good read indeed. I have read all of the Dark Angel saga to date and would fully recommend to other readers.

I will start this by saying that I didn’t read the rest of the series, but after reading this, I DEFINITELY want to! If you are worried about reading this as a standalone like I was, don’t be! I was a little confused at the beginning but the story unfolds itself so that you get caught up to speed.

This story was absolutely amazing and I’m surprised how much I enjoyed it because I’m not usually a fantasy fan. It was a good mix between fantasy and real-life, which I enjoyed the combination. The book really flowed and it grabs your attention with every page. I actually read it in one sitting because I just had to keep going to to see what would happen next.

The characters were also wonderful. I had no problem feeling connected to both Alyx and Israel. They were both so stubborn at times, but they complimented each other seamlessly. I want to read the rest of the series because I would like to get to know more about Vix, Jordan, and Balthazar because you don’t get to know them too too much in this story.

Sometimes I struggled a bit to visualize everything, but that did not keep me from liking the book any less. I actually think this story or series even, would be really interesting to see adapted into a movie because Hanna Peach has created such an interesting, creepy, and apocalyptic world in the Dream.

The ending could not be more perfect either and I’m so happy with how Hanna Peach ended this. This book tore at my heart strings a few times, but overall I just really enjoyed it. If you enjoy fantasy books, you would definitely enjoy this, but even if you’re not into fantasy and love a good romance, I would highly recommend you try it! I can’t wait to read the rest of the series now and bury myself more into this world Hanna Peach has created over this whole series.

OMG!!!! Hanna you have done it again, I absolutely loved this book. I just started reading this series about a month ago, so when I read AngelDust I was so upset with the ending. I just wanted more of Alyx and Israel. Super excited to hear you were releasing this one and then another Dark Angel novel.

****May contain some spoilers:

Anyways, to the review. The book was wonderful! Absolutely, loved the comic relief of having Vix, Jordan, and B right in the beginning; also through the book sometimes. I am so glad you chose those characters to come into this book and be apart of bringing Alyx and Israel together. :) Enjoyed your riddles in this as well. I am not very good at deciphering them myself so I like reading them figure them out by steps. I really liked how the dreamscape kinda felt like a game with all the obstacle they had to overcome and of course the riddles. Everything was well described and matched the events from the previous books.

I tried to read it and think about it as a standalone, to see if it would make sense (kinda hard though because I have read them all (: ). I do believe it could be read as a standalone and actually make sense. Hanna provided enough flashbacks, which I loved too, to understand the depth of Alyx & Israel. I do believe that if a reader decides to read this as a standalone, they will be tempted to go back and read the whole Alyx & Israel story. Which I definitely recommend too!!!

I enjoyed this series so much that I want to buy paperbacks for my library.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I will preface my review by noting that this is my first Dark Angel book. That being said, I am now ready to dive into this series, because based on this book alone, I can tell it's awesome!!
The Afterlife of Alyx and Israel takes us into the lives of these two characters--as the title suggests--their afterlife. Their fated paths cross once more (and with a little help and humor from friends Vix, Jordan, and Balthazar), and from that ensues a dangerous adventure where together they must face not only challenges, but a growing attraction that neither can help or explain.
Magical. To me, this one word describes Alyx and Israel's story, their world, and Hanna Peach's writing. An author's talent shines through when he/she is able to successfully delve into different genres. Such is the case with Hanna Peach. Through her descriptive words, she transports you into this fascinating, humorous, and beautiful depiction of how love can transcend all obstacles when it's meant to be. Now go read it! :)

I absolutely fell in love with Alyx and Israel at the beginning of this series. Hanna Peach is an outstanding author who transports you to another world where magic is real and true lo e knows no bounds. it started out in a way that shocked me, and I knew right then there would be no putting this novel down. Every emotion shines like a star on the page This book could not have been a more heart warming and stellar conclusion to one of the most captivating series I have ever had the priveage of reading. There simply aren't words to describe the brilliance of The Afterlife of Alyx and Israel. Absolute must read! Thank you Hanna, for the ARC.

This book is a standalone, however, I prefer to read it in conjunction with the "Dark Angel" series. Alyx and Israel.... what can I say, they are among my all-time favorite characters..... Hanna Peach, you are an amazing author and you have once again outdone yourself!

To me, this was like a sliding doors scenario, we know what happens in the books, now what happens if they were mortal? They will always somehow be brought together like moths to a flame.... sigh...

I love the Dark Angel world so I will continue to read everything that is released for it.

Enjoy!

I didn't expect how it started off. I have been so in love with this story from the first book, Hanna always keeps things interesting, you never know what's going to happen next. My emotions were all over the place. This was an amazing book, and I love how she ended it. I honestly don't think she could have changed it and kept the same feel for the book. Hands down my favorite author!

If you did not believe in soulmates, the afterlife or fate this book may have you rethinking. This was well worth the wait to experience a truly beautiful ending to Alyx and Israel storyline. The story is filled with action, adventure, suspense, love & humor. We get to experience Alyx and Israel in a different light and we get to see Israel in the role of proctector.

Having read the whole series, I really looked forward to reading the last book and closing the door on such a great plot and cast of characterss

Truth be told, I didn't enjoy this one as much as the others. I found the main plot to be challenging to read and got lost several times and had to back track at what was going on. Additionally to this, I just felt like I wanted a more fluffy book for Alyx and Israel to be more normal, with hints of their supernatural past. The prospect of another big journey left me feeling exhausted.

I loved seeing the old characters make an appearance, but Balthazar being used as a comic relief character with Vix kind of felt so forced to me. I could believe they'd reach this awkward friendship eventually, but I don't feel there was enough development there to warrant such an informal feeling between them both. Jordan felt more on point, but not quite there.

Overall, I did love the ending but it did leave me wishing we saw more of their happy normal life moments. Nethertheless, would definitely read the whole series again!!

I read this as part of the Legends of the Damned boxset.
You don't need to read the other stories in the series to be able to enjoy this book.

This was a great fantastical tale of two angels that chose to be reborn to be able to live a human life in love together. But they're both in their early twenties and haven't met yet and their previous angel friends interfere to bring them together and 'cause all sorts of trouble.

Alyx and Israel have to recall things learned in their past angel lives to be able to save Alyx from the trap she's stuck in and get to know each other in their current forms.

There's some somewhat gorily described scenes involving demons and injuries so I wouldn't recommend this book for young readers.

It's well written and I would go back and read the other stories if they're as good as this one in the rest of the series.

(This book is in the "Legends of the Damned" collection) I really enjoyed this book, though the total defeatist attitude towards taking risks/loving life that Alyx had through most of the book was a bit hard to take at least she grows and learns from what she goes through. Even though this is book 6 in a series and it's obvious there's some history the author does a great job of providing enough info so I didn't feel lost. I don't think I'll look into the rest of the series, but I will definitely keep this author in mind and be interested in reading more by her if I come across anything. Characters you root for, some cool fighting scenes, and sweet romance...

Epic Series

Alyx & Israel's characters grew with each book. The love and bond they had for each other was a selfless relationship. Israel encouraged Alyx to forge ahead even when things seemed impossible. Israel encouraged Alyx to believe in herself during the the time stuck in dreamscape. This was the first book that truly made me cry at the end. A little part of me wanted them to become immortal again. The author did a wonderful job telling a tragic love story.

I couldn’t help myself. After I read the first book if this series - I had a ‘technical glitch’ that made me jump to this book.
What a romantic, wonderful little book. It can be rash as a stand alone but it helped that I had at least read book 1 of the series.
I don’t regret jumping to this book - I will probably catch up with the other nooks in the series when I can.
This had a bit of a Fallen feel to the storyline - which is a series I loved.

Two loves

When two lives are meant to be , love will find a way. Isreal and alyx truly have something special. Dark Angel saga is love, war, fear and heartbreak. Totally awesome. I wished book 6 wasn't the end of this series. Hanna you've had me on edge from book one, and blubbering by the end of book six.
