Adelard Du Boise ignored most people’s judgments of him. He knew as a French-Indian, he’d fit in nowhere and everywhere at the same time. But when Ellen Winslow captured his heart? Del knew he’d do whatever it took to win her love.Ellen’s father, stepmother, and two little brothers kept her busy while headed west. She didn’t have the time or attention to give to a lovesick native man, no matter how handsome or well-mannered he seemed. To her, Del would always be uncivilized. The third in an epic series of three sections of the Oregon Trail and the completion of three love stories. The Oregon Trail SeriesUndeniable - Book One - a spicy sweet love story.Undesirable - Book Two - a sweet love story with a distasteful secret.Uncivilized - Book Three - a spicy sweet love story.
Great story live. Repeats a lot regarding her Father being mean, working her like a slave, how she can not be with the man she loves and her non understanding how much she means to him. Towards the end they speak a lot of French with no translation. Got tired of looking it up
This is a tale of one of the families on their trail to Oregon and the guide, Del. Del has a father of French nationality and mother of Indian heritage. Del was looked down upon due to being part Indian, although he is a good man. Ellen traveled with her tyrant of a father, stepmother and two younger step brothers. They have all sorts of adventures and there’s plenty excitement. You will enjoy this the last in this series. Enjoy.
I loved this story of Del and Ellen. A young woman on the Oregon Trail survives the dangers, works hard to care for her family, is scorned and abused by her father an,d kidnapped by an Indian. Del who is half Indian falls in love with Ellen and she falls for him. Their love is strong and they finally end up together and with her younger brothers they become a family. It is a happily ever after. Thank you Laura Stapleton for a great book.
The love story of Adelard 'Del', and Ellen. Ellen is traveling with her family when her stepmother is kill and she is kidnapped. Del rescue her and they fall in love. One problem her father hate Native Americans and Del is a mix breed. Can they find happiness? Great story.
I've read all three books in the series and liked them all. The last one was a bit sad at times but it shows you the hardships the pioneers had to endure. You won't regret reading this series.
I was disappointed in the 3rd book loved the 1st two. To me I would have liked to have read about their life after they got settled, instead of a long trip in great detail. I didn't think it would ever end.
That a series, I loved all the books, couldn't put them down. Twists and turns and surprises in every book. Can't wait to get to the next ones. Great read.
thanks good goodreads and Laura Stapleton for the signed copy i won; that being said this is an honest review. I had trouble getting into this book at first but once I did I found it enjoyable. I do admit i did get confused with knowing what time frame the book was set and also found it a puzzle as to why 2 very educated men were leading awagon train, and I didn't have aclue to where the family finally settled. bottom line would I recommend this book yes, if you want i nice little read of a more realistic love story then this is a perfect fit.
Makes you feel right there with them seeing everything and everyone. I like how the author does a good job with giving us a little bit of romance and what is going on throughout the trip. And love her brothers.
