A Harry/Draco post six year accidental bondfic AU.

“It’s not for long,” Hermione said. “By the time we get back to Hogwarts, the Unfettering Brew will be ready.”

“Listen to you!” Ron said. “He’s got to get through a month with the Dursleys and a month at Malfoy Manor. With Draco Malfoy.”

“Yeah, thanks,” Harry said, because he hadn’t just spent the last week contemplating just how much more horrible his summer holidays were about to be than they’d ever been before.

Harry and Draco are bond together (but why?) with a spell, so they are forced to spend the summer together: one month with the Dursleys and another one with the Malfoys.

The first half was hilarious. The start at Malfoy Manor was heartbreaking. But what the hell happened afterward? I don't get it. How and when had they become lovers? There were no signs of it. No development.

I’m not too hard to please, really. I need clearer storyline. And more sex. More explicitly detailed sex.

my favorite part was a bit of escandalo at the dursley's, where malfoy puts them in their place:

on the whole, though, i wish it had been a whole thing, instead of a brief sketch with astolat's typically weird aversion to the sexy bits.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4!

That I’m a little addicted to Harry Potter fan fictions isn’t a secret. I especially like stories set in 6th year and I’m also a big sucker for accidental bond fics. Reading the summary for Timeshare made it look like a perfect match and I was super curious to give this one a try!

And I really enjoyed it! The author handled the accidental bonding in an interesting way and I really liked the dialogues between the characters and they way they slowly got closer to each other, while staying in character. Uncle Vernon meeting the Malfoy family was hilarious and I couldn’t stop laughing while imagining this particular scene.

It’s free, it’s entertaining! Just give it a try if you like Drarry fan fictions, but don’t expect detailed smutty scenes.

An interesting take on the bonded-against-their-wills plot.

Favorite Quote:
"You made the teapot pour!" Harry said. Draco looked at him as if he were deranged. "That's what teapots do, Potter. Pour tea."
"Usually you have to pick ours up with your hands," Harry said.
Draco sniffed. "You've no one to blame but yourself if your crockery is undisciplined, Potter. Naturally the dishes will take advantage of you if you let them sit around getting lazy."

“I’ve thought about killing you twice a day since first year.”
“Have you?” Harry said. “Really? Not just how great it would be if I was gone, but thought it through? How you’d do it, every step of the way, imagined me lying dead on the ground in front of you after?” Draco didn’t say anything. “Killing people’s a lot harder than it sounds.”

We are dropped right into Harry and Draco's predicament and I liked that we needed no preamble to the main event! I do wish this one had either eliminated a few of the ideas going on, or expanded them properly to do them more justice. Like

This writer has some great moments of prose and worldbuilding that I've seriously enjoyed - enough to make me want to read all of their HP stuff!

Ends a bit suddenly, but very good in some ways, though I can't decide how I feel about some other ways it develops (underage and not actually liking each other at that point as it is — though some of that is never even explicitly stated).

Very believable characterization of Draco, both the smack-worthy-superiority-complex parts and the parts deserving sympathy (which make me want to reword about smacking him).

(N.b., I don't seem to have checked for Astolat on GR back when I was first reading through her fics list on AO3, but I'm looking now to see which of my bookmarks are listed here.)

Good story. I wish there was some context in the beginning to more easily understand, and by the time you do it’s already finished. It feels like the middle of a book rather than something complete. Overall it kept me interested but I just wish there was more.

Well written and sweet, as usual. I can't imagine Harry and Draco becoming even friends after years of antagonism and hatred, without enough context or buildup, but always a pleasure to read.

3.5? love me a bonding spell but i feel this ended just as it was getting good!! astolat's drarry fics are often about bringing an unlikely pair together, but i want to see them actually make it work longterm!

Another fic where Harry and Draco are bonded by a spell and where they must deal with the consequences. I really liked this fic, the concept was interesting, the Malfoys were suitably sinister, and off course, the developing relationship between Harry and Draco was delicious
