With her feet firmly planted in the present, Apep no longer a threat, and a pair of twins on the way, Lex is ready to settle back into her normal life—or what qualifies as normal now that her family knows everything about the secret world of the Nejerets, mythic gods of time.

But an innocent daytrip to Seattle feels off to Lex the moment she steps onto the ferry, and an unsettling dream quickly turns into an all-too-real nightmare. When past and future dangers collide, Lex is forced to acknowledge that Apep might not have been the only—or the biggest—threat out there.

Lindsey Sparks also writes as Lindsey Fairleigh.

Lindsey is a bestselling Science Fiction and Fantasy author who lives her life with one foot in a book—so long as that book transports her to a magical world or bends the rules of science. Her novels, from Science Fiction Adventure to Time Travel Romance, always offer a hearty dose of unreality, along with plenty of history, mystery, adventure, and romance.

When she's not working on her next novel, Lindsey spends her time hanging out with her two little boys, working in her garden, or playing board games with her husband. She lives in the Pacific Northwest with her family and their small pack of cats and dogs.

Dissonance is definitely the appropriate name forth this book. What just happened? I'm thinking we are going towards happily ever after and yet there is another group out to destroy the world. WTH.

I am mixed on this novella. It's a bit of insight needed to move to the final chapter in this trilogy. And yet, I feel like it was just a curve ball thrown at the reader. It is clear Kat is going to play a bigger role in this world. it's also clear that we now have a subversive group with a hidden agenda. How will it come all together and what it meas for Lex and Marcus will remain to be seen.

After reading this novella, I have more questions and I'm not sure I like the direction the story is moving. Recommended for readers who have already started this series. This should not be read as a standalone.

book 2.5 has Lex in increased danger from the errant group the KIN. Marcus wants to protect Lex but what about her quality of life? This was another exciting novella that had me intrigued from page one to the end. It was full of premonitions about one of her mentors at the college, Dr. Ramirez. But it turned out that the KIN were using Dr. Ramirez to deliver the danger to Lex. She felt dread when she saw the object. Re said he thought it was not possible for it to have happened but it did. Re also said Nic may not be the only one of his kind. This saga sure is getting more interesting book after book. I can't wait to read the next in the series Ricochet Through Time. I highly recommend this series

” Dissonance - An Egyptian Mythology Time Travel Paranormal Romance Novella 2.5 Echo Trilogy” By Lindsey Sparks ( This Echo Trilogy novella takes place between Time Anomaly and Ricochet Through Time) is a tale of Alexandra ( Lex) ...who happy to be back in The Present...happier still to “feel “safe ....AND Beyond happy to be pregnant with twins...Sooo where’s the harm in a simple innocent day trip to Seattle ...Her one-time professor has an artifact for her to look at....and she has plenty of security...What could possibly go WRONG?!?
Read and see. Much enjoyed and Highly Recommended. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Copy of this book.

Should just be in the next book

These little novellas are ridiculous and should just be part of the next book. Resonance want even available on Amazon when I was reading books 1 and 2, so I missed a little chunk of the story. Dissonance was, so I read that before going to book 3,but honestly it is ridiculous to have it. This little blip of the story should have just been in the next book.

I listed to the audio on the authors podcast, Read By The Author with Lindsey Sparks. I really liked listening to it from the author's voice. I really liked the story, the fantasy and mythological ties were fun to read/listen to. I have read/listened to all 4 seasons, so Books 1, 1.5, 2 and 2.5. Book 3 is on my TBR list and I hope to get to it soon. Then I can not wait to jump into the Kat Dubois Chronicles, she is one of my favorite characters in the series so far.

Exciting short novella that sets up the plot of the next book. I am still waiting to find out exactly what the first novella 'Resonance' was referring to, since the time travel that influenced Marcus to commission a Renaissance era statue of Lex hasn't been revealed yet. I'm hoping that gets explained in the next book in the series.

These novellas are kind of useless because you need to have read them for call backs in later books to make sense. They really just set up the problems of the next book in a story devoid of the next book’s main premise/setting. The author could just work the novellas into the book at large. The story told is just as interesting as the rest of the series though.

Short Followup

This is a short follow-up that bridges the gap between books 2 & 3. I enjoyed the read but would have preferred it to just be an opening in book 3. I love this storyline and the characters.

Great book

This book really tied a lot of stuff together for me. A lot of unanswered questions. I thought it was a great story. I recommend reading this to all that love this series.

A quick read on the road and honestly the best book in the series. Had plot, intrigue and wasn’t a boring novella about how much Lex and Marcus love each other. Probably the least amount of interaction between them. Thank god.

3.5 stars - I preferred the other novella to this one.

As much as I enjoy reading about Lex and Marcus this novella seemed a little pointless.

It didn’t add anything to the story that we didn’t already know and could have been the first part of the last book.

If you’re are a fan of Egyptian history you will enjoy this series. You do need to give this series your full attention as there are a lot of things to learn and take note of so you aren’t lost but I enjoyed this series and will read more by this author.

Not quite sure she does these mini books instead of including them in the next book. Sets up the next book I guess.

Most novellas give you a peek into the MC life without the huge plot, sort of like the MC is clocked out and enjoying their weekend. Well...not the novella in this series. I love how they always move the plot forward, in the best way! I'd say, if you are going to read this series then the novella are necessary.

Loved it and will be diving into book 3; Ricochet through Time immediately!

Way way way too short as always

Lindsey certainly knows how to build suspense even in these novellas. It will be interesting to see how this one plays in the last novel.

Such a fun series! The first book is a little roughly written but each one gets better! There are sex scenes in each book so keep that in mind depending on the reader.
