Bound by a vow with his friends, hotel tycoon Nathan Archer refuses to settle down and tie the knot. His only commitment is to bachelorhood. Granted, that contract was made when he was 15 years old… and in a treehouse. Still, a promise is a promise. And Nate takes his promises seriously.

But when cute little Eleanor Marshall walks back into his life, this blast from the past is no longer the timid little girl he used to know. When Ellie propositions him for a night of sizzling, unattached sex, Nate can’t refuse. Besides, it’s only one night. And Nate is never going to settle down.

Slick's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

When born on the wrong side of the tracks self made millionaire Nathan Archer receives an invitation to his childhood best friend's wedding he knows it will be a difficult weekend and not just because of the pact he and his three friends made at age 16 to never get married, but because his best friend's younger sister Eleanor "Ellie" Marshall will be there. Ellie the girl, who saw too much, understood the hell his life was and always had a kind word and understanding in her eyes, the girl he knew he wasn't good enough for but that didn't stop him from wanting her.

I've always loved the best friend's little sister troupe and Never Say Love fall squarely into it, but with an edge because Nathan is more than Ellie's big brother's best friend. He is the man then boy she had a crush on throughout her teen years, the boy that her parents didn't like because of his home life and the man that despite it all has become the media's darling for his playboy ways. I always love when characters have some history and Nathan and Ellie have a lot although it was completely innocent, but that doesn't stop the absolute attraction and want that they both have when they are reunited in a most unusual way. My Kindle was smoking from their first encounter as adults and I'm surprised it didn't combust as the story moved on.

Nathan has some big time baggage and his reputation causes Ellie to think twice about having even a short liaison with him, but she finds she can't deny what she wants or is feeling and despite Nathan's warning that he'll take probably more than she's willing to give she jumps in with two feet. I very much enjoyed watching these two reconnect as adults and it was evident that their long time friendship made them both very comfortable and trusting with each other from the start, so much so that Ellie didn't even question Nathan's demands too much and let's be clear Nathan was demanding in the bedroom. That being said, I had an issue with some of the dialog in this book. For two seemingly intelligent and very professional people both close to 30, some of their inner dialog read like that of a pre-teen girl. I just don't see a dominate man using the word cute to describe a woman he has repeatedly told he intends to f*ck and to be honest, he used it a lot and that threw me because it seemed totally out of character and it made it hard for me to believe his dominate nature.

While I would have enjoyed an epilogue or at the very least a scene where they deal with some of the issues that arise during this story, I thoroughly enjoyed Never Say Love and can only hope we get a glimpse of this couple again in the future.

What can I say except that I was unexpectedly entertained by this book more than I thought I would be. Although that was a bit predictable since I have always been a fan of the friends-to-lovers spin.

It did not take me long to get right into this story. Nathan and Ellie's may come off with an insta-lust/love-ish vibes but it wasn't really. Nathan had always Ellie when they were younger but couldn't do anything about it because she was his best friend's younger sister. And she always had a crush on him as well. Getting together during her brother's wedding, they finally had the chance to act on their attraction even if it was in secret. But in a short span of time, Nathan wanted to have more and at the same time, tried to confront his past. Will Ellie ever see more to their relationship than the physical?

I love the straight-to-the-point approach of this book. It might be a little shorter than the usual but I loved that nothing needed to be dragged on and the story was just right. This was an overall wonderful read. I guess this means I will have to look for the rest of the series, yeah?

DNF 47%.

Unlikable hero, I didn't find the sexy scene hot. Another demanding alpha dominate male that annoys me rather than intrigue.

Sorry this is not my cup of tea, I am sure it is just me....

I am really happy that Nate rose above his horrible, abusive childhood and became a successful millionaire. But when he returns back home for his best friend's wedding, the townspeople still treat him like trailer trash. But what really hurts Nate is that Ellie, the woman he's always loved, seems to still be ashamed to be seen with him. Is there a chance that Ellie will ever see Nate as the kind, generous and loving man that he really is?

Good golly, folks! Never Say Love by Carly Phillips and Lauren Hawkeye is one heck of a read! Together, Carly Phillips and Lauren Hawkeye are a power duo with serious storytelling gifts! For both authors, this one is rivalling being my favorite of their books!

Never Say Love is such a hot read that it really ought to come with a warning. Other book boyfriends beware - Nate Archer has arrived, and he is definitely here to stay! The boy who came from the wrong side of the tracks paired with the gal who everyone wants to tell what to do - together, they have an explosive romance that kept me wanting more!

There were just so many things going on that I loved about Never Say Love. Not only was the romance smokin' between Nate and Ellie, but there were family and friendship dynamics that made this story special. Nate despite being someone who everyone thinks is one thing lets characters see the other side of him. Ellie gets put into awkward family situations, and then she has to figure out how to get out of them. I never wanted it to end.

I love both Carly Phillips and Lauren Hawkeye's books, but this series is really something! They've set a great precedent, and I'm excited to see who will star in the next book in the series. Run, don't walk, to your kindle or e-reader and pick up a copy today!

This book is one hell of a suprise.. I am a huge fan of Carly Phillips but have never read any of Lauren Hawkeye's work but I can honestly say after reading this book I will definitely be checking out more of her books. Nate has been her secret crush as long as she can remember but he his her brothers friend.
Ellie has always been in the back of Nates mind there was always something about her he was drawn to but she is off limits because she is Chase's sister and he was damaged and dominant and she would never accept him... But when they are forced to share a room for her brothers wedding the sparks will fly and no ones heart will be safe...
I was giving an ARC in exchange for an honest review...

I fell in love with Nate he is quite the possessive male, “damn straight I did.” Nate closed the space between them. Cast a surreptitious glance around their table, eased back just a bit. “If anyone is going to have his hands on you, Ellie, it’s going to be me.” This was a quick read for me and I enjoyed it I loved Nate.

A SIZZLING HOT FORBIDDEN ROMANCE THAT MADE MY PULSE RACE!

They say never judge a book by its cover, but when I caught a glimpse of the sultry cover of NEVER SAY LOVE, an erotic romance co-written by NYT bestselling authors Carly Phillips and Lauren Hawkeye, I must confess I was instantly smitten! Carly Phillips is one of my top faves because I can’t get enough of her tantalizingly sexy alpha heroes, and although I wasn’t familiar with Lauren Hawkeye's work, I was enticed by the book blurb and couldn’t wait to dive in. Well, after devouring this scorching hot novel, I am happy to report that this talented duo is a match made in romance book heaven! I was swept up in this second chance at love romance from the very start. I have always been a sucker for best friends little sister romances—there is just something so deliciously taboo about it--and this one made me positively weak in the knees!

Fifteen years ago, avowed bachelor Nathan Archer made a treehouse pact with his best buds, Chase, Lucas and Gavin to never get married. It was a promise he did not intend to break. Growing up in a broken family where he was used as a punching bag by his cruel alcoholic stepfather, he learned the only person he can truly count on is himself. After all, even his own mother, whom he’s been estranged from for years, couldn’t even be bothered to protect him, and his mistrust in women was deeply ingrained. Although, admittedly, he’d always had a soft spot for Chase’s baby sister, Ellie Marshall, when they were kids. A good girl through and through, he sensed those gorgeous cornflower blue eyes hidden behind her thick-rimmed glasses missed nothing. She was the only person in the world who seemed to see past his cocky bad boy image…the only one who saw how bad he was hurting and cared how he felt inside. But even if she hadn’t been Chase’s sister, he knew she was off limits. He came from a dysfunctional white trash family and she was pure and beautiful and beguilingly innocent.

He and his friends eventually went their separate ways, and in the ensuing years, Nate, now a filthy rich bachelor, clung to his anti-marriage vow, throwing himself into building his boutique hotel empire and embroiling in a string of meaningless dalliances—mostly to Hollywood starlets and gorgeous supermodels. He left his old life behind and never ever looked back but all bets are off the moment he returns to Ruby Beach to attend his best friend Chase’s wedding and…surprise!...guess who he happens upon--barely dressed--in HIS motel room? Ellie (aka “Blondie”), the golden-haired girl who’d still consumed his thoughts even after all these years. But now she was all grown up and has blossomed in one luscious, tempting, utterly desirable woman. His self-control is pushed to the brink when they are forced to share a hotel room together due to a booking snafu, and from the way she reacts every time his gaze slides possessively down her sweet curves, the dominant male in him wants to mark her as his, to ruin her for the touch of any other man.

Now a smart, successful optometrist who runs a thriving practice back in Seattle, Ellie has everything she’s always wanted in life, except the companionship of a good man. Now smarting over a breakup—by text no less!—she decides the best way to soothe her bruised ego and prove she isn’t frigid is to embark on one night of no holds barred sex. She could have her pick of single men attending her wedding, but of course the only lover she truly wants is standing right in front of her. She’d never forgotten the boy with the dark hair, charcoal eyes, and a sexy smirk. Her brother’s best friend Nate, who she’d harbored a crush on since her teenage years. But if the rumorville was to be believed, he was a player and she needed to keep her distance and find another man to hook up with. Trying to be a good sport, Nate even grudgingly offers to be her wingman to help her choose the perfect conquest. But their good intentions fly out the window after one hot, sweaty dance together leads to multiple nights of mind-blowing sex. And to heck with the consequences! But would either of them be able to walk away when their whirlwind wedding affair ended?

I loved NEVER SAY LOVE with every beat of my heart! From the very first moment to the last, I was breathlessly turning the pages and in a state of pure, unadulterated bliss. Carly Phillips and Lauren Hawkeye penned the type of story that is a dream come true for a discerning romance reader such as myself. It is a gorgeously written book brimming with feels. A captivating love story that sets the bar high with its intoxicating fusion of breathtaking romance, multi-layered emotion and sizzling sensuality. Quite a refreshing change from a market saturated with so many generic, sex-driven romances, which are often jam-packed with well-choreographed love scenes with some one-dimensional conflict and plot thrown in to offset all the sex. But this sparkling gem is the type of book I live for as a romance reader. Want to celebrate. Share with all my book besties!

I felt Nate and Ellie’s magical connection from the very start and there were so many smoldering sparks between this couple I felt like my kindle would spontaneously combust. And from the poignant prologue to the pivotal moment they first laid eyes on each other again to the way Ellie breathlessly submitted to Nate’s every gruff command, I was ALL IN! Their chemistry was off-the-charts, and their tender backstory added a bittersweet poignancy to their present storyline. Moreover, each sensually-charged interlude they shared together was churning with smoldering passion AND heart throbbing feels. This couple just clicked….in every way imaginable…and I ached for them to be together. Plus, who can resist a fun themed wedding backdrop with lots of high spirit drama, free flowing liquor, love, lust and laughter along the way?

As for Nate? OMG…what a hot, thrillingly sexy Dom! He is the kind of take-charge alpha male who makes me quiver because he commands every single scene he’s in. But sexual prowess aside, he also broke my heart. I’ve always been drawn to damaged, broody heroes who have been waiting all their life to be healed, body and soul, by a sweet, angelic good girl, and this book fulfilled that craving in spades. There is a lot of push-pull and emotional friction between this couple as they fight their true feelings every step of the way. Nate comes from the wrong side of the tracks and has a lot of emotional baggage to grapple with. Whereas, Ellie is all that is pure and right with the world and he refuses to dim her bright, beautiful light. But every time another dude so much as looks at her all his steely self-control flies out the window and he feels a primal need to stake his claim. To passionately remind her that he is the one--the only-man for her. But although Ellie eventually embraces her submissive nature and is more than happy to temporally bend to his will in the bedroom, she fights valiantly to keep her fragile heart under lock and key. I think the authors did a great job of exploring their internal struggle to set aside their fears and inhibitions and find the courage to embrace true love. Ultimately, Nate and Ellie fit beautifully together. In the bedroom…and out.

My only quibble is that the book ended rather abruptly, and after all the great buildup, I felt a bit let down because I wished that more time had been spent savoring their happily ever after. The denouement just felt kind of rushed and I would have liked to see a few more emotion beats played out and perhaps an epilogue giving us a glimpse into their future. Bottom line? I wanted more! My only thought is that perhaps the authors opted for an HFN instead of a full-fledged HEA because they plan to give us an update on the couple in future installments involving Gavin and Lucas. But that small critique aside, this book enthralled me from start to finish and I can’t recommend NEVER SAY LOVE highly enough!

If you're looking for a hot best friend's little sister romance story featuring an alpha playboy hotel tycoon and a sweet and smart good girl who likes control in her life, then this is the book for you. Taming the Tycoon is filled with plenty of drama, angst, a great storyline, strong characters, sizzling chemistry, and hot scenes that all lead to love and a happily ever after.

I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.

I'm usually a little worried when two authors write a book together....will their styles flow, will they both have the same passion, etc...

I have read everything that Carly Phillips' has released but I have never read anything by Lauren Hawkeye. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Only a few times during reading I would think "This is definitely Carly's writing." but for most of the story I couldn't tell and I was really glad about that.

This story is Nate Archer's. Nate grew up with a bad family life and a stepfather that always beat him, but somehow he became a very successful hotel tycoon. Since childhood, Nate was best friends with Chase, Lucas and Gavin. At 16 years old the guys took an oath to never get married and that was fine with Nate. He was the kid who's parents didn't want him hanging around because of his bad family life. Nate always had a crush on Chase's younger sister, Ellie, but he would never pursue anything with her because of who he was.

Nate was called a player even back in school and continued this type of life well into adulthood. Flash forward 15 years later and Chase is getting married. Nate is not looking forward to going back home to Ruby Lake for the wedding because he is sure he will see Ellie, and now that she is all grown up he is not sure he will be able to leave his hands off of her.

Ellie Marshall was always the good girl, who did whatever she was told. She went to college and became an Optometrist. Ellie was nervous coming back home for her brother's wedding because she knew she would see Nate, the guy she always had the biggest crush on. And now that her boyfriend just broke up with her through a text of all things, she was looking for a weekend she wouldn't forget. ;)

Through no fault of their own, Ellie and Nate end up having to share the same motel room. Well you can imagine how this is going to work out! You have two people who both have sizzling feelings for each other but they both know that they shouldn't be together. Too bad life has a way of changing things!

I loved the journey these two went on. It was fun, flirty and really sexy. These two characters both filled a need each other needed. Their sexual chemistry was just off the charts! WOW!!!!

I loved the happy ending, it was great! I even enjoyed Nate confronting his past. Very emotional and heartfelt. Overall this was a great read and I can't wait to see who the next book will be about!

I've been a fan of Carly Phillips for years and was super excited to read her newest book written with Lauren Hawkeye. I absolutely love the chance to get more and more books each year from favorite authors as they team up with other authors for new stories. I am adding to my to-be-read list with each new to me author. I have to say that Never Say Love was an absolutely amazing start to a new series from Carly Phillips and Lauren Hawkeye.

Never Say Love is Nate and Ellie's story. I love they knew each other when they were growing up and are insanely attracted to each other once they see each other again. The fact that Ellie had a crush on Nate when they were kids and Nate is her brother’s best friend only made me love this story even more.

I adored Nate and Ellie were attracted to one another from the moment they saw each other again. I laughed so hard that they ended up sharing a room when they both came back to their hometown for Ellie’s brother’s wedding. In fact the banter between Ellie and Nate was every bit as fun as the sexy chemistry between them.

I have to say the chemistry was off the charts H-O-T between Nate and Ellie. I loved that Nate tried to fight his attraction to Ellie thanks to the bro-code, but I just knew the attraction between them was way to intense for them to keep their hands to themselves for long.

I seriously loved how strong the attraction was between Nate an Ellie. I loved that Nate tried to fight how much he wanted Ellie and that they both saw what the other needed in each other. Loved that Nate had a need to dominate when they were in the bedroom and while Ellie questioned why she allowed it and got off on it, gave over the control to Nate and each time they were together only got hotter and brought them closer together.

Of course past insecurities come to play and almost broke my heart to watch both Nate and Ellie battle their past. I do wish the authors had addressed the issues a bit more at the end of the story, but still loved the story. I loved especially that Ellie went the extra mile to prove her love to Nate as no one had really ever gone to bat for him in the past.

I adored Never Say Love and really can’t wait to see who gets the next book in the series. Never Say Love was a fabulous friends-to-lovers romance filled with both funny and super intense moments.

When he was 15 years old, Nathan Archer made a pact with his three other best friends that they would never get married.
Cut to years later, when Nathan is now on his way home to Ruby Beach, a small beachside community in Washington State, to be a groomsman in his best friend Chase Marshall's wedding. So much for pacts.
Ellie Marshall is having a bad day. Having been dumped by her boyfriend via text, then her car breaks down on her way home to Ruby Beach for her older brother Chase's wedding, she also is not staying in the main hotel with the rest of the wedding party because everyone in the town was invited, and is staying at the same hotel, so she is at a cheaper inn, not far away. Oh, and she is surprised to find that she is also sharing a room with her childhood crush, Nathan Archer. Some sort of booking mix up. Not that Ellie minds, per say, she just knows that this playboy is not the man of her dreams. Or is he?
When Ellie announces to Nate that she wants a one night stand, Nate vows that no man will touch Ellie, his childhood crush, but him. But he likes his sex kinky. Would good girl Ellie go for it?
I really liked this story, it was sweet, romantic, and cute, but there were a few things that bothered me. Ellie was still treated like a child by everyone, except for Nate, despite the fact that she not only is a grown-up, but a freakin' doctor to boot! And Ellie is either incapable or just won't stand up for herself.
Ellie and Nate are compatible in every way, and as much as they talk, they don't discuss their fears with one another- like the fact that both want to continue this connection past the wedding weekend, but neither one tells the other that. Ellie sees through Nate's bravado, especially when he runs into his mother, a mother who allowed her son to be physically abused by his step-father, and his shock and anger at seeing her again.
It doesn't help that Nate is from the wrong side of town, something that the Marshall family looks down on, and question why Ellie and Chase have anything to do with him.
There were also a few sentences that were lacking connecting words.
Overall, this was a good start to a new series, but you aren't missing much if you don't read this.

I know that I'll enjoy the read when I pick up a Carly Phillips book. I was interested in reading this collaboration with Lauren Hawkeye, Never Say Love.

I enjoyed this first book, Never Say Love, of Phillips and Hawkeye's new series, Never Say Never. The idea of making a pact to never marry and keeping it many years later, sets up all kinds of possibilities for a romance. I couldn't wait to see what was in store with Nate and Ellie. I'm a sucker for an unrequited love/secret crush romance and Never Say Love doesn't disappoint. While Nate and Ellie grew up together, each crushing on the other, nothing developed. It isn't until a wedding brings the two of them back home, that things get interesting. I loved that we see their younger selves in this story along with their developing relationship.

I'm looking forward to reading the next installment in the Never Say Never series.

Wow, loved this story, it is a sizzling hot read. I love both of these authors and they really hit this one out of the park. Eleanor Marshall has just had her boyfriend break up with her and now she must go to her brothers wedding by herself. She had always prided herself as the good girl, the smart responsible, capable one. But for one night she would just like to have a fling and not have to worry about being in control. Nathan Archer has been busy building the Archer Hotel Empire and has lost touch with his best friends from high school. He has earned quite the reputation as a playboy, with a different woman every night refusing to settle down and tie the knot, he still lives by the pact that his best friends made to never marry. But now Chase Marshall has broken that pact and expects him to show up and be a groomsman in his wedding.

But all he has been able to think of since he received the invitation is her. Seeing her again. The reason why no other woman would ever measure up, he thinks, she is to good for him always has been. And what he demands is to dark for someone like her. But when the hotel computer has a glitch and books them in the same room and they come face to face again after years of never seeing each other, the air sizzles. He sees in her a combination of sex appeal, vulnerability and her genuine adorable allure in her curvy figure. But when she tells him about her boyfriend breaking up with her and that she is going to find a one night stand, he is not ever going to allow someone else to touch her.

What happens when you always have to be in control, can you enjoy giving it up? How could giving it up be the Hottest experience of her life? You will need to read this sizzling hot story to find out. Loved this fantastic story! Highly recommended!

This book was spectacular! I do not often give out 5 stars, but I loved every second of this book!

Nate is swoon-worthy. Even though he knew how we was portrayed in the tabloids, he didn't let that define who he really was. I loved that he didn't blink when his friend was getting married, even though they had said they never would. The only reaction he had was he knew it meant he would see Eleanor again, and she was the one person he knew could get through his walls, and that worried him. I LOVED his wedding present for his friend. It shows that he is not who everyone, including his friends, think he is (and I wanted to hit Chase at one point for not seeing the real Nate!). It broke my heart when he thought he wasn't good enough for Ellie, even with all the success he had had.

Eleanor is the proverbial good girl. And she doesn't really like it. She doesn't stand up to her family when they are making cutting remarks. She instead grins and bears it. I loved seeing Ellie come out of her shell and truly blossom. Her lack of confidence in herself bled into what she thought Nate would want, and even when the signs were there, she didn't believe what she was seeing. I was so glad she came to her senses, even if I think the gesture she made was a little over the top :)

I also loved seeing the flashbacks to their childhood to see Nate and Ellie interact. The seeds were there from the start, and it was so cute to see inside Nate's head when he was trying to to look at his best friend's sister that way.

As you can tell, I loved this book and I CANNOT wait for the next one. I received an ARC for an honest review.

Finally Letting You In!!!

Nathan Archer never wanted to settle down, he only wanted his freedom. He and his friends made a promise when he was 15 years old, "No weddings". Nathan saw how bad things were for his mom who had been married to an abusive prick.

What Nathan never counted on was to break his promise for the beautiful, shy woman who had a piece of his heart since their were younger. His best friend's little sister, Eleanor "Ellie" Marshall.

Ellie too had a crush for Nathan since they were teenagers, no matter how hard she tried to get him out of her head. She couldn't. She was the only woman who saw passed Nathan's facade and that give her a place in his heart that no other could ever take.

Coming face to face again after so many years, Nathan's heart still skipped when he saw Ellie. The latter wasn't the shy girl anymore, together they discovered many things about each other that they never knew.

Ellie was a strong and confident woman who knew what she wanted and went after it....Even though she wanted Nathan and vice versa, they had to face their insecurities. When all was say and done, there was no room for doubts.

NEVERY SAY LOVE , the first book in the NEVER SAY NEVER series by CarlyPhillips and Lauren Hawkeye. Such an incredible collaboration. The book had me hooked from start to finish, these two brilliant ladies did a remarkable job.

4.5 Stars

I wasn't really sure what I was expecting when I asked to receive the advance copy of this "surprise" book by Carly Phillips and Lauren Hawkeye. What I do know is that it was a quick and sexy read. Ellie Marshall and Nate Archer have known each other since they were kids and both of them have had feelings for each other since then too. But neither of them ever spoke up.... Ellie because she didn't think Nate would like a "girl like her" and Nate because she's the little sister of his best friend, Chase.

Nate has always sworn to never get married and believe in love because of his less than stellar family life and Ellie has always been told that she's just "not enough" her entire life. When these two meet up again 15 years later for Chase's wedding, circumstances make it that they're going to be spending a LOT of time together for the few days spanning the wedding. Little did either of them know, how things would change by the end of the weekend.

I enjoyed reading Ellie coming out of her proverbial shell and that Nate is so much more than he's ever thought he was. More importantly, that he wants to be more because of Ellie. There's also some very hot sex in this book too and let's just say, it allows Ellie to explore her submissive side which is something she has to come to terms with.

If you're looking for a book that will allow you to escape for a little while, read some oh so steamy sex scenes and even laugh at some of their antics, then this book will fit the bill very nicely.

Thank you to Carly Phillips and Lauren Hawkeye for the privilege of reading this prior to release.

Read the full review on Bookaholics Not-So-Anonymous.

Note: This ARC was provided by InkSlinger PR in exchange for an honest review.

I liked Nate and Ellie's story, with it's falling-for-your-best-friend's-sibling trope headed by an alpha male who appears ready to fight for the only woman who's ever meant to him and a woman who's loved one man since she was a teenager but isn't sure if he'll ever settle for a life with her. It's also a bad-boy-falling-for-the-good-girl romance and with the usual angle of the bad boy who's actually got a streak of "nice" and the good girl with a penchant for "naughty". There's a lot that feels familiar with the book as a whole, but I still was able to enjoy the characters and the story and finished the entire thing in about an hour's time.

I would have wanted some sort of resolution with regards to Nate and Chase's friendship, especially with the way they left things. As far as Nate's relationship with his mother is concerned, I think I preferred the way things panned out than had it gone in a more conventional direction. This way, it felt more in line with who Nate is and not belittle what he went through growing up. Nate and Ellie were such an intense but fun couple to get to know in this book, and while I wish we could have gotten more of a peek at the other supporting characters, I look forward to doing so as the series moves on. Four stars for Never Say Love. ♥

Ellie is going to her Brother's wedding. Nathan is also attending. Due to a computer error, they have to share a room. Ellie has known Nate since they were kids. Nate made a childhood pact with Ellie's brother Chase, and friends Lucas and Gavin. They were 15 and said they would never get married.
Ellie wants to have a one-night stand. Her boyfriend dumped her via message. He told her he needs excitement both in and out of the bedroom. So she will find her own excitement. Nate hears about this and says it will be him. At the end of the book, I thought Chase would punch him for sleeping with his sister, but he didn't.
Hot sex, a fun wedding, and the possibility of more books. I want to hear more about Lucas and Gavin.

I'm a huge fan of both of these authors and was so glad to have gotten this from them. This story is about four boys who made a pack while they were 16yrs old to never get married. The day Nate Archer climbed into his best friend tree house after taking the brunt of his stepfather so abuse. He is the boy that doesn't fit in and even now as a successful tycoon he is nervous about returning home.
Ellie Marshall is Chase younger sister and Nate always had a crush on her. She has just been dumped by her boyfriend and is nervous about seeing Nate again. She also has a crush on him but knows he would never be interested in someone as boring as her. She decides that this weekend she is going to have a one night stand because she is tired of fitting into this boring imagine. Well faith has a bit in store for these two when they are accidentally booked in the same room and there are no other rooms available. Nate isn't about to let her have a fling with anyone else once she tells him of her plans. This is one great story about two people finding out about themselves and getting over their insecurities. I loved the storyline and the characters. They had chemistry and clicked so well. This was a wonderful book by two amazing authors. Just a win win. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Never Say Love is a sizzling romance and I loved it!

Nathan Archer and Eleanor Marshall have known each other since they were kids. They always had a strong connection but there was always a major obstacle – Eleanor was the kid sister of Nathan’s best friend. But Eleanor was the only one who truly understood Nathan. Abused by his stepfather, Nathan will always be the town bad boy. But despite his broken family Nathan is a successful millionaire. But even with his success he’s never been as happy as he was with Eleanor in his life. Eleanor has become a prominent optometrist and loves her career. But her family still treats her like a perfect good girl. Nathan and Eleanor reunite for her brother’s wedding and their chemistry is intense. Their passion for each other goes beyond sex but will Eleanor’s family get in the way of their happiness? You have to read this to find out!

This was my first time reading from Carly Phillips and Lauren Hawkeye and I loved this! The story flowed perfectly that I forgot this was written by two authors. I loved Nathan and Eleanor. They were both well-developed characters and I felt their connection. The romance is steamy but they also had a soulmate love story. Everything about this book was perfect and I can’t wait to read more from these authors.

There are not many adults who can claim that they never made a vow in childhood or young adulthood that they were determined to stick to as an adult. There are few adults who actually hold to their childhood vows because blood of childhood runs hot and grownup responsibilities and emotions will often cool that blood, especially when it comes to vows made to never get married or fall in love. Nate Archer made such a vow in the wake of frequent abuse at the hands of his mother's husband, believing that any institution that was more important to a woman than her role as mother couldn't possibly be any good. Nate's vow gets tested in this well-crafted second chance romance from Lauren Hawkeye when Nate returns to his hometown for the wedding of a childhood friend who did not stick by his vow to never get married.

The chemistry between Nate and Ellie is phenomenal and is born from two people who have known each other most of their lives. There are themes of Dominance and submission but not so strong that this could truly be labeled a BDSM romance. The sex scenes are hot and push the book into mature reader territory, but I really enjoyed the storytelling and how Nate comes to realize that some things, and some people, are worth breaking a childhood vow over.

This was a great read. Nate was the boy from the wrong side. Ellie is the little sister of Chase (Nate's best friend). When they all meet back in their home town for Chases wedding, even though there was a pact made between all of the guys that grew up together never to get married, Nate and Ellie get thrown together and realize that they still have chemistry and maybe they do belong together. Will Nates playboy ways or Ellie's family hurt their chances of making it work.

This is a great start to a new series to two great authors. Carly Phillips and Lauren Hawkeye have you waiting for the next installment.

Never Say Love by Carly Phillips and Lauren Hawkeye is the first book in their new Never Say Never series. Never Say Love is a second chance romance, but it is so much more than that. It's also a best friend's little sister/big brother's best friend story. Hero Nate Archer escapes his abusive stepfather by hanging with his three close friends. Heroine Ellie Marshall is the younger sister of Nate’s best friend Chase.

The characters were well written and complex. Both characters came a long way from the mousy good girl and the bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks that they used to be. Ellie became a well-respected optometrist while Nate is a hotel tycoon. They are thrown together for Chase's wedding (Ellie's brother and Nate's best friend), and somehow end up sharing the same hotel room by mistake. Will they still be attracted to each other after all these years? And if so, do they dare act on it?

I highly recommend this book to all readers. This book is definitely hot and sexy. I am a fan of Carly Phillips' books and have read at least one book by Lauren Hawkeye. I am very impressed with this collaboration. The plot was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. I struggled with putting this book down!

This Book was a total Surprise!!! and it was the best EVER!!!! I love Carly Phillips books but I have to say I've never read a book by Lauren Hawkeye and after reading this that is definitely going to change!!
Nate Archer made a promise when he was 16 with his 3 best friends -They were never getting married-. At the same time Nate had a crush on one of his best friends younger sister Ellie but told himself "Hands Off". Fast forward about 15years and Nate receives a very formal looking envelope - A Wedding Invitation - from one of his best friends. Chase.
Ellie is on her way to her big brother's -Chase- wedding. After being recently dumped by her boyfriend she is on a mission to have a one-night stand. And so Ellie is a bit nervous being around her family and of course chase's best friend Nate is going to be there, the same Nate that Ellie had a crush on when she was younger.
Well I don't want to ruin the story for you but there's plenty of drama, romance and extremely HOT scene's. It was an awesome book and I read it in one go because once you start it pulls you all the way in!!! I totally would recommend this to friends and can't wait for more from these two talented author's.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I should only post one word about this book: HAWT! But then I’d leave out amazing, deeply touching, gut-wrenching, wonderful story. Hawt works, though! The story is about Nathan Archer and Eleanor Marshall and their journey towards their HEA. Ms. Phillips and Ms. Hawleye created a story that I hope continues with other characters we’ve met. Nathan’s story will touch you in ways that you cannot imagine. My heart broke for the boy that he was, the young man who endured, and the man who was still struggling with his past. And Eleanor is little sister to one of Nathan’s best friends and according to the “bro code”, she is off limits. Of course they fight their attraction to one another – even when they are young – however what they learn is that together, they are stronger. There is so much depth to this story. I cannot say enough about these two to make you buy this book. Reading about Nathan’s and Eleanor’s hard and well-traveled road will make you smile, tear up, cheer, and want to slap some folks silly. Really great read and I highly recommend.

Nate Archer has always been a person to live up to the promises he's made and that includes one with his best buddies when he was 15 years old - one where they agreed they would all remain bachelors and never get married. We all know best laid plans and all...

When Nate finds out his best pal Chase has fallen head over heels and wants Nate to be in his wedding, his first thought isn't about the fact that there is going to be a wedding, but that he is going to see Chase's baby sister, Ellie, again after too many years. He had always had a crush on Ellie, but had vowed to never act on it. Will seeing grown up Ellie change his mind?

Ellie Marshall has moved away from where they grew up and has made a nice life for herself, but she has yet to find Mr. Right. Well, she's always harbored feelings for Nate Archer, but knows that with his playboy tendencies, that will never pan out. But is this a case of never say never?

Carly Phillips and Lauren Hawkeye crafted a hot, sensual, fantastic read with this surprise release. I enjoyed it immensely and would highly recommend it!
